Check In was easy-Bed was comfortable-Shower had hot water with good pressure. Roof-Top deck was awesome. Option to use Beach Cruisers nice touch!

Stayed for.two nights and it was a very nice hotel! This was located closer to the Casino but still within walking distance to the main town. It had all the basic amenities you may need such as mini fridge, microwave, TV, and small dresser. Just a heads up, there's no elevator just stairs since its a small and compact hotel. Walls are bit thin so you may hear some noise/footsteps but if you're out exploring most of the day, you should be ok! Staff here were friendly and welcoming from beginning to end :)

Beach front, they also have bikes for free, chairs and towels for beach and they take your bags to the ferry for you 😀

We had wonderful service the whole time, the ladies at the front desk were great and so was our server at the restaurant. and the deck is what sets this property above all others. Love it!!!

Check in is horrible. Keep your bags out in the open if your early so just know it’s not a secure process. No elevator so you’ll be lugging your things., as they don’t do it. Otherwise great location.

This hotel was a 10/10! Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a hotel to stay at in Catalina. The staff was extremely friendly! You get complimentary bikes, beach chairs, beach towels, and even a welcome drink from the bar! It’s right by all the stores and restaurants. Planning to come back soon!

Its a comfortable place with a great location and comfortable accommodations. They have bikes and beach towels and beach chairs available free of charge for guests.

Modern, very clean hotel in an ocean front location. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the on-site restaurant which was not open every day and was not open during the posted hours.

I liked the property being directly across from the beach. There was a roof top deck that had chairs and tables. It was a great place from which to watch the ocean, boats and sky. It would have been perfect if there had been bar service.The hotel rooms were nicely appointed. My only complaint was there was no elevator. The person at the front desk said the 4th floor wasn't really 4 stories up but it was still a hike up stairs and I was having trouble walking. I also wished there was a full restaurant. We were there during rain and we couldn't sit outside to eat. All in all I liked the hotel and would stay there again.

Our room smelled like mold.

They should change their cleaning solution. It left a very strong odor in the room. The room was CLEAN, it was just the cleaners used.

Room has lots of little ants in it and no hair dryer. Everything else was ok.

Clean and very adequate for the stay on the island. Nicely remodeled.

Facilities are sloppily renovated. Staff was impolite. The door handles to the room were absolutely filthy. It looks as if this hotel cares very little about cleaning, despite such small rooms to clean. Will not stay here ever again.

The Bellanca Hotel is situated on the main promenade across from the beach. It is a great location to access Avalon. Easy walk to everything! We were there during off-season from Monday-Friday. The hotel is clean and nicely remodeled. We had a Courtyard King. You can borrow bikes, beach chairs and towels for free. The roof deck is a great space. There were few guests for the first two nights -- and everything was quiet. By mid-week, more guests were at the hotel, above and next door to us. The walls are very thin and you hear every footstep and the TV next door. We didn't mind because we were out most of the day. The price point, location, and overall ambience of this hotel is very good. We will return!

The room is simple but has everything you need. They need to work on the ant problem. Found ants all over the place and in my bed. Housekeepers were loud talking and using their walkie-talkie early in the morning so don’t expect to sleep in.

Found hairs in restrooms toilet was not cleaned well. Shower tiles grout and seal of areas were yellowed and exposed cracks. Maybe lazy cleaning crew not sure. Drywall cracks that should be fixed. Room 107. The coffee pod are no good and a bit old maybe. The should try Pete’s Major Dickason’s blend.

Room was clean and fresh. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Convenient to shops dinning and attractions.

We stayed in a cabana room with a balcony and loved it! Great room, great bed and great location! My only complaint is that was no Internet. * they do offer free internet but it does not work and there the service on the island itself is spotty.

I liked the location. I didn’t like that I could hear everything in the neighboring rooms and every footstep of the people above me.

The perfect location! Very simple rooms in a very convenient spot. The entrance to some of the rooms is a sliding glass door that faces the main courtyard. Unfortunately if anyone speaks or breaths in the courtyard they feel like they are in your room. Good AC, small shower, clean rooms with comfy beds.

I would give this hotel a 5 star if it weren't for the extremely thin walls You can hear everything in other rooms Heard someone snoring and woke up to other people's alarms! The staff was great, great location, very clean. If you sleep like a log or have excellent earplugs go for it

Very convenient location. Great rooftop views. Rooms are extremely small. Didn’t even have a proper chair to sit in or electrical outlets on either side of bed. Room clean.

Room was small but was perfect for one or two people. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Room came with a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. You can use one of the many bicycles from the hotel to get around the island. It’s right on the main strip with lots of shops and restaurants around the area. Will definitely stay here again.

35tg anniversary weekend in Catalina and had higher expectations based on price point of this hotel. It has been remolded but it’s still old. Rooms do not have a real door, it’s a sliding glass patio door and there is minimal privacy since courtyard rooms all face each other. Kept the privacy curtains most of the time so we felt claustrophobic the entire 3 nights. There are tiny windows high up on the back wall that couldn’t be reached to open. Rooms are so small and no seating available except on he courtyard, which we used. The upper public deck had amazing views and the beach was right across the street. These amenities I guess made up for some the the lacking amenities in the room. Staff was friendly and they work hard to keep it clean. Very hardworking folks. Another feature we appreciated were the use of the beach cruisers and beach chairs. Overall it was a wonderful weekend and made the best of the room even though I dreaded returning at the end of everyday.

Our room Was on the street side and was a little noisy

Location is on the waterfront road, so the views from the balcony are incredible.

We paid for a courtyard room and we’re given an ‘Expedia room,’ we were told, which was garden level facing the staircase to the courtyar and garbage. We couldn’t open the windows or any of the curtains because there was NO privacy. The room was subterranean. Noise was constant. Front desk didn’t greet us as we came and went. Instead we received dirty looks during our stay because we complained at checkin that we didn’t receive the room we paid for. We were supposed to be sent a text or to be called when our room was ready. No one contacted us, so we went back at the scheduled check in time of 3:00. We were told they were all fully booked snd the ‘Expedia Room’ was all they had left even though we were forced to pre-check in online at 8:30 in the morning. Would never recommend or stay their again. We feel were ripped off. Worse service ever.

I would highly recommend this property to others. The staff was incredibly kind and professional. The rooms were very clean and well stocked. The bed was very comfortable. My son and I were on the island for a lacrosse tournament, arrived early and they graciously gave us our room at 0700 instead of making us wait until 1500 for check-in! I will definitely stay here again when returning to Catalina. Thank you Sandra and the rest of the wonderful reception crew!!

Avoid! The staff here were so rude, unorganized and really do not want ppl here. Vacuums were left in a room, bed not made, staff at the bar yelled at us for standing in the lobby area, trying to charge us for a late check out when we were gone on time. Spent over $500 a night and you’d think it was a motel 6. So bad. The only thing good is the location.

Chose a room with a partial ocean view with my family and they somehow tried to give me a lesser quality room. Then the lady said call them directly if I needed specifics. I then responded “What the hell is hotels.com for?” You deal with them right? That’s why I went through them in the first place. To make this seamless. The problem is you have been working at this hotel for so long that you forget there are guests who just want what they said they were getting (3rd party or not). Then on top of that you say “oh we don’t normally allow babies because of a fire code or something, you should’ve let us know about that) I’m sry but you don’t get to delegate how we travel with our baby. Then you proceed to put a 5 person family in the same room that we switched from. Would’ve given 10 stars if it wasn’t for the fake smile and disingenuous facade from the staff. If you all hate customer service, why are you there in the first place? You actually live in paradise! Maybe act like it. Will definitely look elsewhere next time.

The staff was extremely accommodating! Sandra at the front desk was welcoming, and her positive energy was contagious! Julian, the bartender prepared us the BEST Bloody Mary!!! The rooftop space had a magnificent view, but felt unattended. They could do something great with this space. Overall a great experience and I can’t wait to come back.

Very nice hotel on a very good location. We enjoyed our visit. The reason I am not giving five stars was the way the night administrator handled the following situation: across from the hotel was a sitting area. A couple of drunk guys were screaming and playing super laud Mexican music. We weren't able to sleep because those guys were super loud. I went to the receptionist and asked he to help. She said "this guys are not on the hotels property and I can't do nothing". I then said that if I am going pay $220+ a night I deserve to sleep, and suggested that she calls the police. She PROMISSED to do that but she DID NOT. After a couple of ours of this loud madness, I went to the receptionist again. It was around 11:45pm. This time was a different receptionist. I explaiend again the situation and asked if the previous girl had called the police. It turned out that the previos receptionist NEVER BOTHERED TO CALL THE COPS and just left without even sharing the issue with her colegue. That is why I am not 100 percent happy. However, the second receptionist did call the cops and soon after the loud craziness stopped.

We did not want to leave the hotel and island at all. I like that we were far enough from the busy area but close enough to the water to wave the cruise ships goodbye!

Great location and views!

Great location away from most of the noise and crowds when the cruise ships are in. Clean, updated small rooms. Perfect for a couple. No air conditioning but lots of fresh air from windows. We stayed in Room 401 which had an ocean view. The outdoor deck overlooks the ocean. Peaceful and very nice.

The location is superb. The minimalist approach in the room is great. All you need for a get away trip is met. We’ll be coming back!

Close to restaurants and shopping

I liked this property a lot. It was right on the water and on the strip of shops which made everything super accessible! would reccomend!

This was my first time going to Catalina. Normally I don’t spend $500-600 per night on a hotel, unless I’m staying at the Westin in Maui. This is a very cute, clean, boutique style hotel, but I feel like it was too expensive for what we got. The positives about this hotel are that it’s right across the street from the water, has a cute rooftop deck, offers beach chairs, and beach cruiser bicycles, and the bed and pillows were some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The downside is that there’s no soundproofing whatsoever so you can hear every noise from your neighbor flushing, their toilet to kids stomping up and down the stairs at all hours and running around and yelling and screaming. The good news is that everybody seemed to respectfully observe quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM. The hotel restaurant has good food. I had the crabcake eggs Benedict and they were some of the best crabcakes I’ve ever had. The first day our female server was phenomenal. The second day our male server wasn’t too great. The bartenders are smug and unfriendly, so I only went to the bar one time and went elsewhere the rest of the time. The front desk staff is easily accessible, helpful and friendly. If it were $350 per night, I would definitely return to this hotel but I don’t think I would stay here again if it were above that price point. I’d rather stay somewhere with soundproof rooms or a private condo that comes with a golf cart.

The restaurant attached to the hotel has a beautiful view of the bay and close to water. Very relaxing. Only a 10 min walk from the port with many cute little shops on the way.

Really enjoyed our time at the hotel. Location was amazing, the room was modern, clean, and well designed. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was a great brunch and drink surprise while the rooftop lounges were perfect for late evening wine and ocean breezes.

The restaurant was closed, which wasnt really a problem. But it should have been disclosed. Lovely hotel. Rooftop view patio was spectacular. Hands down the most luxurious bath towels ever!

This hotel was fantastic!! Start your day at your in room coffee bar and then head to the rooftop to enjoy their spectacular view. You truly can see EVERYTHING from there! Grab a towl, beach chair and or floaty (FREE for guests) and walk across the street to the beautiful sandy beach. Hop on a bike downstairs (FREE to guests) and cruise to Descanza beach for lunch or pedal around town to see the sights. You have everything you need here, including a full service restaurant in the lobby with a cute "curb side" patio option. The bed and pillows were comfy and the hotel was very quiet, perfect recipe for a good nights sleep. All of the staff was friendly & attentive, we can\'t wait to come back!
