The Green Park Inn has a lot of charm but the end is beginning to run down. The best part was the music in the lobby on Friday and Saturday night. Great Entertainment and fun family event.

Con's : No amenity's like Microwave, Refrigerator, Pool, Hot tub, etc. Floors very squeaky, anytime someone walked beside you are above you sounded like they was in the room with you. Breakfast not very good. Pro's : Staff very nice and helpful and located in a good location and a historic building. Fairly priced. By the way the tree right out front that has the small fruit balls on it is a (Chinese) Kousa Dogwood Tree. We googled it when we got home. No one knew at Hotel that we asked.

This is a unique hotel that has lots of history and charm. We enjoyed the atmosphere especially sitting downstairs listening to the gentleman playing classics on the piano. The rooms are comfortable and clean but could use a little maintenance. Specifically, we had a balcony door that didn't shut well. Breakfast and Dinner are available but reservations are required and may not suit your schedule if you're not very proactive. If you're looking to slow your pace down and enjoy some quiet downtime this is the spot.

So… it’s a historic property, if sleek and modern is your style then this may not be the place for you. That being said room was spacious, updated bathroom. Rooms were quiet. Elevator is old and quirky, we chose to use the stairs. Staff if great!!! We greatly enjoyed our stay. Music in the evenings in the lobby area was a nice touch.

The location was good to blowing rock. The hotel is old and needs some work on it. The elevator is very old. The front rooms are noisy on the main street. If you wanted clean towels you had to go get at the desk. The rooms have widow air conditioners or one that is remote control across the room. The menu i saw for breakfast on trip advisor has been limited. Most hotels give you juice with your free meal. If you want milk or small glass of juice is $2.25. They only had one person taking your order for breakfast. Food okay but nothing speculator. Only one ice machine on the first floor. It is just a historic old hotel that needs some updates.

The Green Park Inn is a charming, historical, 100 year Inn, who has hosted an interesting list of visitors over the years. The landmark The Blowing Rock is within a mile. Equally close are the wonderful shops and restaurants. Don't miss enjoying dinner and a beverage in The Divide Tavern! Breakfast was also very good in the Chestnut Room. The entire building is overflowing with beautiful history. Staff are all extremely friendly and helpful! We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days at The Green Park Inn. Keep in mind this is an old Inn, so you're not going to have spas, pools and those fluffy things, just charm, comfort and relaxation in abundance!

This property was very run down. Cobwebs in the room and hallway had items that needed to be cleaned up. Smelled very musty. Several places need repairs done. It is an older property and floors went downhill and also slanted on the side of the room. It was very noticable when walking. Place was probably very nice at one time but is in great need of renovations abd reoairs.. On the plus side, the breakfast was very good and the person serving was very pleasant and helpful. I was not surprised when we checked out the person at the front desk didnt ask how our stay was. At one time I am sure it was lovely so was sad to see how run down it was

The inn is very tired. We had a pet friendly room and it matched nothing in the pictures they advertise for room selection. Housekeeping was non existent. Told to put my dirty towels outside the room and they were still there when I left the next day. The toilet paper holder was 6” off the floor and on the same wall as the toilet. Try to reach around and use???The lock for the door going out to the porch was a slide bolt lock and installation looked like a child installed. Breakfast was served by reservation and fixed to order, sounds great, only one person working the whole dining room and was told she also had to do some cooking. You could tell she was overwhelmed. My wife’s waffles were ice cold. The check in clerk was very friendly. The inn has lots of charm and could be wonderful but the owners are not reinvesting in the property.

The room carpet was dirty soem spots torn the chair in sitting room the plastic leather was coming off all other it and would stick to your clothing. MINI Refrigerator and mico wave would have been nice to have on the room. It was nice to see the history of the INN

We checked out after about 2 hours. Everything in the room was quite old and needed updating. We ran the water for a good 5 minutes and it was still only slightly warm. The musty/mildrew smell causing sore throat and eye irritation was the final reason for leaving.

So I am not a high maintenance person . However, I realize the history of the place, looks very charming in pictures but I was a little shocked. This place needs some major love and the stinge needs to be removed. Carpets dirty , the smell was less than pleasant. Restaurant…. We were seated at a clean table but felt like I had to peel my arms off. We were trying to use the salt shaker. When unscrewing the top it had totally crusted over. Upper level of tables were at eyeleveland there was a bunch of dropped food still on the carpet from who knows how long ago. Needless to say…. This place could be a gem . It needs a Joanna Gains touch. We ended up leaving early. Room had a window air conditioner unit room room was dusty. Again I am a down to earth person and don’t need fancy but this was a bit to much for me.

This property was dirty, dated and moldy. There was grime and dirt on the doors entering the lobby and white dog hair on the carpet throughout our stay. The bar and eating area was dark and dingy with sticky surface areas. The food was limited and bland. The rooms were dirty with mold and spider webs around the window sills. The furniture was scratched and the upholstery torn. The porch was moldy and had rotted wood. The bathrooms were dated with wall paper peeling off and the tile was dirty. The pool was filled in with dirt and the grounds were overgrown and unkept. We booked a 4 star hotel but instead got a neglected version of the Overlook Hotel in the movie the Shining complete with the dark and infamous “Red Room” to sleep in. The owners clearly have neglected this property and should stop advertising it as anything but a run down shamble that has long passed its heyday,

It’s an old historic building, which is cool, but it’s an old historic building. We stayed in room 101 which I think might be right above the boiler / heater. Every 45 minutes It sounded like a maintenance man literally entered our room and beat on our radiator with a hammer for a minute or so. Didn’t last long, but definitely enough to wake us up every 45 minutes. Bed was awesome, building was really cool, but we didn’t get much sleep.

Room was not ready till after 4. Room was on the highway with loud traffic all night long. Breakfast was to be buffet or from menu. No buffet, menu very limited...with many items extra cost, not too free! Dinner was delicious and great menu. Did love the hostory of the inn.

It is a older historic hotel so knew some of the rooms would be smaller. WiFi wasn’t very strong and couldn’t stream or connect easily. The dining staff was excellent but adjacent to our table, in closed off area, it was dirty, rice on the floor, looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. Breakfast was good,library, bar area was nice.we checked in late and looked like we woke up the night lady. She didn’t explain anything about hotel other than our comp breakfast ticket and time of service

This was our first time at Green Park Inn. We loved the ambiance. The food in The Divide was amazing and Grant in the bar was delightful. Definitely a recommended destination.

Front desk Lady very rude, they add on a donation charge to your bill at the end of your stay without telling you, we were there for a wedding and bar closes early and they won’t let you drink any of your own drinks in the lobby or on the porch, hotel is old that’s a given but the hallways and rooms are all slanted and uneven. They only give 2 towels per room. Only nice and cheerful person was our server for breakfast. Didn’t have a welcoming feeling. They were bashing someone publicly who hit there front overhang entrance that’s damaged with a sign out front instead of just having it fixed. Very rude people.
Front desk Lady very rude, they add on a donation charge to your bill at the end of your stay without telling you, we were there for a wedding and bar closes early and they won’t let you drink any of your own drinks in the lobby or on the porch, hotel is old that’s a given but the hallways and rooms are all slanted and uneven. They only give 2 towels per room. Only nice and cheerful person was our server for breakfast. Didn’t have a welcoming feeling. They were bashing someone publicly who hit there front overhang entrance that’s damaged with a sign out front instead of just having it fixed. Very rude people.

The inn is very tired. We had a pet friendly room and it matched nothing in the pictures they advertise for room selection. Housekeeping was non existent. Told to put my dirty towels outside the room and they were still there when I left the next day. The toilet paper holder was 6” off the floor and on the same wall as the toilet. Try to reach around and use???The lock for the door going out to the porch was a slide bolt lock and installation looked like a child installed. Breakfast was served by reservation and fixed to order, sounds great, only one person working the whole dining room and was told she also had to do some cooking. You could tell she was overwhelmed. My wife’s waffles were ice cold. The check in clerk was very friendly. The inn has lots of charm and could be wonderful but the owners are not reinvesting in the property.

I love how unique our experience was from checking in reading the adorable welcome note (from the dog), to the nice size room and the history inside is fabulous. We loved our bartender, Parker, at the tavern inside. The food, drinks and atmosphere were fantastic!

Enjoy the historical aspect of this property. It is beautiful, in a great location and the staff are super friendly. The dining and bar options in the facility are convenient and the cuisine is outstanding. This will be a winter holiday tradition. Our second stay here and did not disappoint.

I appreciate and love the history of the inn. However, I felt the grounds have been neglected and the grandness of the property was not Represented. Our stay was 3 days. We asked for our room to be serviced. It never was. We only received clean towels. Simple things like emptying trash cans, replenishing coffee and toiletries would have gone a long way toward the appeal of the inn. Although we didn't visit the area to watch TV, when the time came that we wanted to, the reception was terrible on several of the channels we wanted to watch.

There is no refrigerator in the room. You can’t control the heat so it was boiling hot on most days. You can only control the a/c. We booked breakfast at the hotel restaurant as it was complimentary but it took over an hour to get our food. The staff seemed annoyed anytime we asked them questions. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It is a historic hotel on the continental divide. It has a lot of history and is convenient to downtown Blowing Rock and other activities in the area. The breakfast were very good. The hotel needs some renovation and the hot water for the room took a while to warm up.

This was such a relaxing and comfortable stay. The atmosphere is one of elegance and grace without feeling the least bit “stuffy” or pretentious. The location allows easy access to attractions and the parkway. We will definitely stay again for our next visit to the area.

Stayed at the Green Park Inn on a recent trip to Blowing Rock. The hotel is a historical property so it's a little dated but the rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfasts were cook to order and there is a small restaurant / bar on site too. Good place for the money . I'd go back next time I'm in Blowing Rock.

The Green Park Inn is a charming, historical, 100 year Inn, who has hosted an interesting list of visitors over the years. The landmark The Blowing Rock is within a mile. Equally close are the wonderful shops and restaurants. Don't miss enjoying dinner and a beverage in The Divide Tavern! Breakfast was also very good in the Chestnut Room. The entire building is overflowing with beautiful history. Staff are all extremely friendly and helpful! We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days at The Green Park Inn. Keep in mind this is an old Inn, so you're not going to have spas, pools and those fluffy things, just charm, comfort and relaxation in abundance!

This lovely old historic inn lived up to expectation and beyond. It’s location is amazing. You can even walk to the blowing rock! The town of Blowing Rock is full of lovely shops restaurants and a museum! Grandfather Mountain is a wonderful place to visit too.

The property is old and I understand that. However, it took several minutes for the water to get warm in the sink. We had to turn on the hot water in the tub before the water at the sink would get hot. The food at the restaurant is not worth eating. Breakfast was included in our stay, and after we had a few bites, we left and found a restaurant downtown blowing rock. We had stayed there a few years ago and had the same experience. We were hoping it had changed.

It was very nice and historic. The service was great especially Grant. Unfortunately, the food was not the best. The burger was under cooked, the martini was way too strong, the waffle was cold and the bacon was rubbery. With the exception of the food, it’s a beautiful place

This is a unique hotel that has lots of history and charm. We enjoyed the atmosphere especially sitting downstairs listening to the gentleman playing classics on the piano. The rooms are comfortable and clean but could use a little maintenance. Specifically, we had a balcony door that didn't shut well. Breakfast and Dinner are available but reservations are required and may not suit your schedule if you're not very proactive. If you're looking to slow your pace down and enjoy some quiet downtime this is the spot.
