Hotel Argento

I stayed at Hotel Argento in Malta, and unfortunately, it was a very poor experience from start to finish. The standard was low, and I honestly can’t understand how this hotel is rated four stars. The AC was turned off every night, so the rooms got extremely hot – we were sweating through every night. We spoke to the staff about the AC issue three days in a row, but nothing was done. They said they would look into it, but nothing changed. Very poor service. The balconies were tiny, barely real balconies – more like French balconies. The room decor was outdated and worn out. Basic toiletries like shower gel, hand cream, and hand soap were missing and never restocked during room service. Completely unacceptable. Breakfast was also quite underwhelming. The staff seemed stressed, the fruit was always gone quickly, and what little was available was old and unappetizing. The pools were especially disgusting. There were clumps of hair, insects, and all kinds of debris floating around. It’s unclear how often they’re cleaned, but it didn’t seem like hygiene was a priority at all. Overall, this is not a hotel I would recommend. It doesn’t meet even basic expectations, let alone those of a four-star establishment.

Nice hotel and location but definitely terrible for parking your car. Not many hotels in that area have parking.

Nice small typically Maltese hotel, off the main track, so quite at night. Nice rooftop pool and bar. Good for bus services not far from the nightlife of Paceville if that's your scene.

Calidad-precio correcto. Todo muy limpio. Desayuno buenísimo, personal correcto, no son la alegría de la fiesta, pero atienden bien. La cama cómoda. Cómo nota negativa sería que la presión del agua es muy poca y la piscina del hotel muy pequeña.

Mycket fuktskador. Extremt dålig frukost, bra kaffe dock. Baren ett skämt, antingen stängd eller om den va öppen, ingen öl.

Situation parfaite pour visiter l'île avec un arrêt de bus à côté. Dommage que les alentours ne soient pas propres. Le personnel est très souriant et disponible. Excellent petit déjeuner. Chambre spacieuse et très propre. Petite piscine sur le toit sympa pour se reposer après une journée de visites. Dommage qu'elle soit si froide (fin octobre,).

On arrival I was allocated a room in Quaddro over the road from Argento. The room was spotlessly clean with lovely fresh bedding although not changed during my five night stay. The lovely towels were changed daily. Breakfast was in Argento and could not have been any better. The pool in Quaddro was difficult to get in to. The Argento pool was better and had more sunbeds and parasols and a bar. Pool towels are provided. Both hotels are well placed. St Julian's one way Paceville another and the bus stop a two minutes walk. Enjoyed this area of Malta on my third visit.

Sehr gut gelegenes Hotel, man hat seine Ruhe und bekommt kein Lärm mit. Der Pool auf dem Dach lädt zum Entspannen ein, sehr nettes Hotelpersonal, gutes Frühstücksangebot. Das Hotel ist zum empfehlen👌

Fantastiske dage med rigtig god service. Lyddæmpning i vinduerne mod baggården gav ro fra de mange byggeprojekter i området, det kunne dog ikke holde støjen fra de unge mennesker der festede i gaden den sidste nat ude. 😆 Værelset var stort og rummeligt med okay senge og vanvittigt mange puder. Lyddæmpning til gangen var desværre ikke i top, og med værelse umiddelbart overfor elevatoren, var der en del støj fra gangen. Fin lille balkon med 2 stole, har vedhæftet udsigten derfra. Morgenmaden var fornuftig med mulighed for bestilling af omelet, pandekager og andet lækkert ud over de mange muligheder der er stillet frem. Drømmer du om at holde vægt træningen ved lige under din ferie, vil jeg dog opfordre til at finde et andet hotel, eller købe et par dage i det lokale fitness center i byen. Største vægte var håndvægte på 4 kg. Men som receptionisten sagde med et smil på læben… men vi HAR et fitness center. 😂 Løbebånd og cykler er der til gengæld. Poolen på rooftop må være fantastisk om sommeren, men i slut februar med en temperatur i solen på max 20 grader… var det ikke lige der vi brugte tiden. Vinterbadning er dog en mulighed. Placering tæt på Pacevilles festgade og med gå afstand til Sct Julians Bay og Sct George Bay og 2,5 km til færgen til Valletta er det virkelig lækkert. Tak for nogle dejlige dage i kærlighedens tegn. ❤️

I booked and paid this hotel in advance. I was told that I needed to pay 3 Euro city tax but I didn’t not have any Euros on me at that time and was going to pay with my cc. I was told not to work and I could pay later. The next morning I went the ATM , got some cash and paid my 3 Euro bill. The woman behind the counter was busy and took the money but did not give me a receipt. The next day I was asked to pay the tax and I explained that I already had. On checking out I was told again I needed to pay the 3 Euro tax. After having a conversation and getting nowhere I went ahead and paid the taxes again !!! Get a receipt for everything from this hotel , the gym was so minimal you could barely call it a gym. It is in a good location though and the rooftop pool area is nice.

Un hotel céntrico muy limpio y el personal magnífico.

L’hotel è in una bella zona. Il personale è gentile e cordiale. I bagni piccolissimi e da rivedere, la vasca/doccia perde acqua da alcune fessure, il balconcino è sporchissimo e anche la pulizia in generale della stanza è scarsa (ragnatele/insetti morti contro il muro mai rimossi). La colazione è un po’ scarsa e confusionaria

Do not recommend staying here! Not even close to a 4 star hotel. Terrible bed and pillows! Leaving with a back pain! Unfortunately I trusted the good reviews that this hotel got but they’re not reliable. Water damage throughout the hotel. The walls and interior are in bad shape. Not very friendly receptionists. Did not get asked how are stay was when checking out and had to wait for the receptionist to come. Room- can only speak for our room but it was not good at all and does not look anything like the pictures. Terrible bed that did not have a mattress!! We had to ask for one and only got a very thin mattress if you can even call it that. Pillow terrible. I’ve stayed at hostels with much more comfortable beds. Water damage and dirt on the walls. Could not take a shower without getting bathroom floor soaked. Cleaners did not refill toiletries after cleaning. Had to ask twice. Overall not very clean. AC- not working as it should only have heat even though the setting is in cool air.

Definitely a clean hotel. The room heats well, has a nice view. Swimming pool not used, but normal given the weather. A little small, I have no idea whether the entrance is chaotic in summer or not. However, the way the room is structured can be improved. The spaces are optimal, but not optimized. At the side of the bed there is a huge unused space, where a wardrobe could be added or something that can be used to place stuff. Bedside tables a little too small. Same thing in the bathroom. The shower was excellent, the bathroom structure was good but... a lot of unused space. Difficult to support anything. My least favorite thing is the soundproofing: you could really hear everything from the other rooms, from arguments to the shower. The mattress, blankets and cleanliness were excellent.

Modern & very clean hotel in an ideal location for transport, sightseeing & restaurants. Our rooms were in the annex, and this is the poor cousin to the actual hotel; while annex staff were generally excellent, the communication between the annex and the hotel needs work (incorrect pricing was a key issue, amongst others).

The room was comfortable with a great bathroom, comfy bed, and pillows. The staff were always helpful. The buffet breakfast was amazing each day. Outside, the location was great near the bus stops. There was a lot of construction around, but no sounds in our room!

Location was pretty decent and the rooftop pool was pretty nice. The rooms did have a dated feel to them as well as the bathroom for four-star hotel. The breakfast buffet was pretty good although no one told us about the option to get custom made omelettes waffles or pancakes so if you stay there, make sure you start that on the first day! We didn’t know until day three.

Oskön säng med gummilakan… otroligt lyhört. Hörde allt mina grannar sa och gjorde. Ganska slitet. Passar säkert bra för party-ungdomar med inget jag skulle rekommendera för andra. Kaffet får 2/10. Hade dock badkar vilket var nice.

Clean hotel… The beds are not comfortable. Standard at best. Not a bad place… not a great place. Average.

We stayed for 2 nights. The area was pretty safe to walk around during the day/night. The room was very spacious especially for being in Europe as most hotels are smaller. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine for as a VIP Expedia guest which I really liked. Their breakfast was pretty fulfilling but needed some updates towards their menu. Also the room air conditioner wasn’t working properly which was an inconvenience. We had a window in our room so we would open during the day/night so it wouldn’t get stuffy. There is a bus stop 2 minutes from the hotel, and a very walkable area.

Good rooms nice pool. Staff was friendly but did have an issue with arranged airport taxi on departure day

Great! I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is close to everything, the bus stop, dining options, etc. Friendly staff and we were able to keep our luggage stored until check-in. We were able to check-in one hour earlier too. The breakfast was very delicious. The area also felt very safe and very tourist friendly. Lots of things to do and see. Malta’s bus service is also very good.

Really pleased with this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful and went the extra mile especially the manager of the breakfast buffet, (who would greet us by name). The buffet was well laid out and a good selection. Beds slightly uncomfortable, but overall a good choice and good value for money

I was on an organized tour of Sicily and Malta. The tour company booked me into the Hotel Argento for three days and through Hotels.com I added a fourth night. The hotel is perfectly fine but given my interest in the older more historical parts of Malta, the St. Julian's area is not the best for that kind of thing. The hotel is in the heart of the entertainment and hospitality part of the island and there is very good public transportation nearby. I would have preferred a hotel closer to Valletta or Sliema. The breakfast was excellent - plentiful food served hot. I did use the pool on the sixth floor on a couple of days to soothe some tired muscles. Lots of restaurant choices nearby.

Excellent location from transport, and yet in a quiet location for a good night's sleep! Great service from reception to all guests on where to visit on the island

PROS: location, central in malta. Rooms, modern rooms in Quadro (Superior rooms) Friendly and professional staff especialy the night reception in Quadro. Good housekeeping daily. CONS: Location, near paceville drunk people at night. There is a bar (Anvil) opposite to the bildung where people gather outside and talk loudly untill 1:30 am. Rooms: although modern not noise insulated. You can hear other guests on the floor or upstairs (depending on guests could be noisy) Breakfast was a bit lacking in variety and taste.

Hotel was beautiful and breakfast was unbelievable! Staff incredibly friendly and location was perfect. Got upgraded to a suite which was lovely and nice and quiet in the day. Table was slightly old and shampoo was provided in plastic bottles hence the reduced eco rating. But overall the hotel was amazing and we very much enjoyed our stay. Very reasonably priced for both quality and location would certainly recommend and come back!

Le reste sans plus mal illuminé .. finitions de la chambre laissant a desirer (peinture et papier peint ) literie excellente mais oreillers pas confortables ( on dirait de la laine) .. merite un meilleur entretien des murs ou sinon tres bon rapport qualite prix surtout petit dej et piscine .

Great breakfast. Lots of shops nearby. Best part for me, I did the check-out but the hotel kept my bag and I enjoyed a morning in the beach, after that, paid 10 euros and I could shower in the hotel before my flight!

Hôtel bien situé, Petit déjeuner varié et excellent, le personnel impeccable Gentil serviable à l'écoute, la chambre est simple mais rien a y redire (douche à l'italienne spacieuse appréciable), j'y suis resté 5 nuits impeccable.
