All staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel room was clean and spacious and the leisure facilities a great bonus. Food in the Bellini restaurant was very good breakfast and dinner.

Very clean and modern hotel. Friendly staff. Breakfast had the same options daily but lots of them. Check in was easy. Had a secured luggage area to store our luggage after checkout while waiting for our ride back to airport. Rooms cleaned and clean towel stocked daily. Rooftop pool view is stunning. Indoor heated pool and sauna was good.

Nice hotel in Mellieha. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We were given the room under the pool area which meant that we could hear the chairs being moved in the morning. The rooftop pools were nice with a reasonably priced bar, especially during happy hour. The gym was a reasonable size with most of the equipment that you would need. Parking is available for 10 euros a night. You can risk to park on the street but the hotel is on a very busy road.

Room was spacious and comfortable except for the patio which directly looks into the adjacent rooms. Had a peak a view of the water. Level 4. Paid for “panoramic” view - not the case. The property was 5 min walk to the main church and across was a bus stop. Convenient. My room key failed 4 times. And staff was busy with check ins so I couldn’t get into my room for half an hour. Frustrating. Heated indoor pool and sauna was nice as it was too cold to enjoy the many rooftop outdoor pools. Views from rooftop was lovely.

Nice enough but definitely more geared towards package holiday guests. Shame the outdoor pools are not heated and hot tubs not working - that was annoying when it is advertised as part of the hotel amenities. Outdoor pools and sauna close at 8.00pm which is annoying. Should be later to accommodate guests post-dinner

Reported and maintenance tried to help. View: Not great. Very close to opposite apartments/room which look directly into your room. Breakfast: no one clearing plates etc - very slow. Was told that hotel very short staffed. Indoor pool: this was so dirty and cloudy you could not even see the steps to go in so got straight out.

Great hotel for the Mallehia area. Lovely roofdeck and front desk was super helpful and friendly. Buying breakfast option is a great idea and buying 2-3 of the buffet dinners (more affordable and more food options) than local restaurants. The indoor pool wasn’t heated until we asked about it. The roofdeck pool that was supposed to be headed was out of service. Bring your own beach towel for hotel. They give you a beach towel but then it’s €5 to exchange them out. I get that some people abuse the system but €5 is almost equavalent to buying a new towel at the beach. Charging €1-2 makes more sense. Overall had a nice stay in Malta and would stay at the hotel again if I was in this area again.

I can see why most guests leave an excellent review for this hotel: it’s all about the free drinks included in the buffet price or the free buffet included in the room rate. The quality of the food corresponded to the price. Scrambled eggs with no taste whatsoever (probably from a Tetra Pak), bacon not crispy at all, no fresh fruit juices … Cleanliness could have been better, the maid didn’t even remove the used dishes we put on the balcony. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned thoroughly, either. The huge air condition units are placed in the inner court of the hotel, so that you can hear a constant roar day and night, even with the window closed. You don’t want to sit on the balcony with that noise. Each balcony is illuminated with a bright light that can’t be switched off, so no one ever uses the balcony at night. We were issued a voucher for a hydro massage in the spa area, however, it could only be redeemed between 11.00 and 16.30h, when you’re out and about. The parking garage is well hidden in a different building, with no sign pointing to it. It’s very narrow and you have to give your car keys to the staff, so that they park the car for you.

I stayed here for almost a week and it was alright. I would’ve really appreciated being made aware that there were renovations/work going on, constantly. These started as early as 7:30. The fire alarm even went off once. That should be something you tell residents before or during their check in. Or as there were lots of those renovations going on right outside our door (2312) maybe close the whole floor so residents aren’t disturbed. The lift situation was quite confusing at the beginning we had to take a life down then walk quite a while then get another lift up, it wasn’t straightforward. The cleaners would also reuse bedding and towels but just re fold them as if they were new/re make the bed but flip the covers. Overall the room was nice. Our view wasn’t the best, the food was great and the staff were really nice

The staff were really welcoming especially at the front desk. The food was excellent and the amenities were spot on. However our morning coffee mugs in our room was not washed and every day on our return to the room we had to wash them ourselves. Also on two occasions we had to asked for toilet paper as the cleaner did not restock with a spare apart from the one that was already being used.

Prior to my stay I was offered a panoramic balcony view upgrade for a little extra, which i accepted. Upon arrival at the hotel, the room balcony was approximately 6 inches from the next property, and the panoramic view was only left and right side view. Irejected the room as it was not to my expectation of panoramic view. I asked for my original room back, but was not offered a refund on the extra i paid for the panoramic view room. On top of that, the ventilation in the replacement room did not work for 7 nights of my stay, despite numerous handyman visits to try and resolve the issue.

Les Plus : Personnel courtois Rooftop avec piscines et bar très agréable. Salon avec mobilier contemporain et confortable. Les moins : Certaines chambres non rénovées ( chambres catégorie supérieure ) avec vue sur les chambres en face et sur le restaurant et en prime le bruit continuel de la ventilation sous les fenêtres, donc impossible de rester sur le balcon. Avons déménagé après avoir passé une nuit, pour être dans une chambre rénovée, mais pas la salles bain qui aurait besoin d'un grand rafraîchissement ( cabine de douche dont les portes qui ferment mal, joints de douche avec moisissures et serviettes de toilettes qui sont bonnes à remplacer, certaines sont effilochées, et ne sont plus vraiment blanches, plutôt grises. Restauration très moyenne, sommes restés 7 jours en demi pension, buffet répétitif, surtout aux niveau entrées, fromages et desserts. Problème d'hygiène : avons aperçu deux cafards sur le sol du restaurant, l'avons signalé au serveur qui en tué un. Il s'agit plus d'une ambiance cantine, car très bruyant avec de nombreux groupes sans-gênes. Pour finir, une clientèle majoritairement bas de gamme qui ne sont pas éduqués ( exemple, se promènent torse nu dans le hall et l'entrée de l'hôtel où hurlent dans la salle de restaurant où au bar ).

We really enjoyed our stay at Solana Hotel! The hotel and its premises were beautiful, with clean facilities and a fantastic pool area — especially the infinity pool, which was a highlight. The on-site restaurants were great, offering delicious food and a nice atmosphere. However, there are a few things that could be improved. The breakfast was just okay – we would have appreciated better quality bread and a bit more variety. While the room was clean and well-maintained, the beds were quite uncomfortable, and the sofa bed for the older children was really poor, making it hard for them to sleep well. Pillows could also use an upgrade. Overall, a solid hotel with lots to enjoy, but a few updates would make the stay even better.

The property is ok, it’s clean and the rooftop pool area is a nice place to hang out. The room was clean but the furniture was most uncomfortable. The sofa/bed in particular was awful. In the main the staff were courteous and polite, but the women in the rooftop bar were rude and brusque without any need to be as they were hardly hard pushed. My wife was disappointed with the standard of the Spa and would not book it for a second treatment. On one night guests were running about the hotel like idiots slamming doors until about 5AM during which I wasn’t able to get any meaningful sleep. There are no soft close mechanisms on the doors to the stairs and corridors so they bang shut very loudly. Will not be back to this hotel.

The Solana is a good hotel, in a great location.Staff were amazing, very helpful , they went the extra mile! On the downside, their AC only works at to a certain temperature depending on the time of year, not great as our room was warm. We also had to swap rooms after two days due to the noise from a large flume vent outside our bedroom window, the hotel were more than happy to accommodate with a new room.

The only thing we didn't like was when we asked the front desk to order us a taxi and they ordered thru a company that they use a a shuttle. Cost 3 times the amount...ridiculous and irritating. Other than that, property and service was excellent

Great hotel and amazing service! Kis, reception manager, with wonderful gift of hospitality, made sure we were satisfied at every opportunity. When we arrived, we got the most amazing room with wide open view of the sea, but it was next to the air conditioning facility and quite loud, so we complained, They couldn't possibly find us a better room, but they gave us a bottle of Maltese wine and spa towels and robes. It was a kind and generous gesture. Roof-top pool is with incredible view. Breakfast food and especially Steaks and Chocolates buffet dinner were fantastic. Amazing experience overall. Would come back in a heart beat.

Wonderful hotel to stay in north of the island. Was a bit sad initially to see it was quite far from the beach but the wonderful views from the terrace top very much make up for that and the local bus network is spot on so you can get most places like the beach quite quickly. It is also very handy for local shops and restaurants. The main hotel restaurant shuts quite early but then we were probably out of season. The top restaurant remains open quite late I think. Any query I had was answered by the lovely and friendly staff. You are spoilt for choice with pools. The top pools are stunning and very refreshing. We backed onto the bottom garden heated pool which was lovely and quiet in the mornings. Was a shame we couldnt get direct access to it as they informed us our balcony gate stayed shut but otherise it was a bonus and local friendly cats that visit were also very sweet and a huge bonus- they only say hello if they know you're friendly! Lots of sweet little birds around too. Can honestly say it is one of the best hotels I have stayed. I really hope to return one day and make proper use of the spa. Thanks to all who make it a lovely stay!

Friendly and speedy check-in. Clean and comfortable room. Did not use the buffet or restaurant as visiting friends, but plenty of choices for eating both inside hotel and locally. Located in heart of Mellieħa, short walk to bus stops for routes all across the islands.

Nice room,street outside a little noisy. excellent shower. Roof top pool amazing views. Local parking terrible, would advise pre booking with hotel if you have a car. Many local restaurants nearby. Room very clean, breakfast excellent choice , could eat inside or outside. Would recommend.

A well maintained property with clean and comfortable room. Shoulder season and rooftop pools not heated. Breakfast is above average although limited gluten free choices I overpaid booking ahead. In spring one could get same room for almost half listed price last minute Plenty of restaurants in area. Great bus service to airport, Gozo and Valetta by boat piers a 15 minute bus ride away

Wir hatten Halbpension. Es gab morgens und abends jeweils reichhaltige Buffets, bei denen wirklich für jeden etwas dabei ist. Sogar die Getränke abends waren mitinbegriffen (z.B. Wasser, Sprite, Fanta o.Ä., Weine und verschiedene Kaffeesorten). Zudem hatten wir den Transfer, den man über das Hotel buchen konnte in Anspruch genommen. Dieser hat auch reibungslos funktioniert und war sehr pünktlich. Wir wurden zudem sehr herzlich in Empfang genommen und auch ebenso wieda verabschiedet. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis top. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und modern eingerichtet. Das Pooldeck bietet einen hervorragenden Ausblick und es gibt genügend Liegeplätze für alle. Das Essen ist vielfältig und von guter Qualität. Durch die wechselnden Menüs hat man immer wieder neue Möglichkeiten. Jedoch sind die Servicekräfte nicht die aufmerksamsten, weshalb fallengelassenes Papier/Essen nicht schon frühzeitig aufgehoben wurde. Auch das Abräumen und sauber machen der Tische ist verbesserungswürdig, wodurch die Atmosphäre teilweise gestört wird. Alles in allem ist das Solana eine absolute Empfehlung und bietet einen erholsamen Urlaub.

Hotel was just as the photos showed. Meal options always a good variety to be had. Staff always friendly and polite. We didn't use the spa but pool was open until late and a good temperature. Buses we found to be so easy and frequent to use from outside the hotel connecting all over the island and €2 for a 2 hour ticket super value for money. Good variety of spots to eat in walking distance and some shops to browse around. Would stay here again if visiting Malta.

Reported and maintenance tried to help. View: Not great. Very close to opposite apartments/room which look directly into your room. Breakfast: no one clearing plates etc - very slow. Was told that hotel very short staffed. Indoor pool: this was so dirty and cloudy you could not even see the steps to go in so got straight out.
