Generally not a fan of resorts, but will try to be objective. The hotel is big. Many rooms=many people. Overall, public areas in good condition/clean. Roof terrace very nice with (cold) pool. Indoor pool not supervised by staff = guidelines/rules not being followed. We watched many people entering the area, changing from everyday clothes to swimwear and jumping into the pool without showering. Disgusting... Children were jumping and diving into the pool encouraged by their parents. Considering the small size of the pool it was obviously not pleasant for other guests and being only 1,5 m deep, dangerous as well. One day the pool was unclear and after that we didn't go again. Spacious room, nice balcony/seaview. Huge bed, but not very comfy. Roomdoor, walls and bathroomdoor paperthin and people talking in other rooms could as well have been sitting next to you. Cleaning ok some days, terrible others. We broke a glass and asked for vaccum cleaning (left a nice tip) but splinters were still all over. Used glasses were repeatedly left in the room. Twice we experienced dirty glasses returned to their place. Nasty and unacceptable. Enormous breakfast buffet. Quality ok. Coffe=not good. Service in hotel was strange. Not bad, not great, kind of mechanical performance in the reception. Melliha is a small place, not very interesting. Found some surprisingly good restaurants though. (Michelin recommended). Neither recommend nor advise against.

Mellieha est une ville relativement calme. L’hôtel est bien placé près de l’église où il est facile de s’y garer vue que le parking de l’hôtel est tout un poème pour s’y garer à ne faire que s’y on aime l’aventure et que l’on a un pot de yaourt pour descendre les 7 niveaux. Chambre agréable. Piscine indoor chaude avec jacuzzi aussi une à l’extérieur et un jacuzzi dehors et une sur le toit. Super centre de bien être avec d’excellents masseurs.

The staff were excellent. The room was good and the facilities were good. There was a persistent problem with the electrical system that the hotel failed to fix during our stay. The power outlets fused more than 8 times in 2 days. The car park was poor. It was only accessible with very small cars.

We stay here very often and recommend our family stay here always when they visit and we have a big family! However this stay we came for 1 night to de-stress from work and enjoy the pool to find it cloudy and very murky! We were very disappointed. My husband went to reception to report this. The following morning it was worse. Overall this really ruined our stay. I understand sun creams etc can affect this but owning pools this should have been rectified in the evening so next day clear. I could not even see all my legs!

This is a lovely hotel and breakfast was good. Staff are helpful and friendly too. I was disappointed though to find that all of their restaurants and the lounge bar were closed for refurbishment. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere on Expedia or their own website. I chose this hotel over the other ones in Mellieha specifically for the lounge because I was visiting out of season and on my own.

Beautiful hotel in excellent location. The hotel is stunning and the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and professional. The rooftop swimming pool, bar and restaurant area are fantastic with beautiful views of Mellieha Bay. The hotel lobby and lounge/bar areas are beautiful. I would rate this hotel a 5 star without a doubt. Our room was extremely spacious and clean and had a balcony overlooking the lower outdoor pool and Mellieha Bay. The bed was huge and comfortable and so were the pillow. Lots of cafes and restaurants in the street and a sports bar across the road. There is free underground parking at the hotel. The carpark to the hotel is very narrow and winding. We had a small car so it was not an issue. Not sure how a big car would go turning the corners. There is also free street parking out the front. It is a fair way from St Julians, Sliema and Valetta but there is a bus stop right out the front. A bit of a walk to Mellieha Bay beach – it is walkable but you can also catch a bus there. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The staff were helpful and polite and the room was clean and tidy. However we were not told about the bar indoors near Reception being closed. We knew in advance some pools and outdoor bars would be closed, but this meant that there were no facilities for us to sit in and relax. We did have one coffee in the reception area and this was nice. The outside bar on the opposite side of the street which was part of the hotel, was closed when we visited, and just presumed this was because it was January and therefore quiet. The gym and indoor pool were good and we would definitely come back to this hotel. It’s relaxing in Winter and I’m sure it’s just as nice in Summer.

Overall, I was fairly satisfied with the hotel, but there were a few things that bothered me. The air conditioning didn’t work consistently – sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t, which was especially uncomfortable at night. I had booked two single beds, but they were pushed together. When I separated them, I noticed a lot of dirt in between. The shower head was also quite calcified, which gave a bit of a neglected impression. The bathtub looked a bit worn as well, with some of the coating already peeling off in places. Another small issue was that used towels were sometimes taken but not replaced, so I had to go down to the reception to ask for fresh ones. On a positive note, the staff was always friendly and helpful, which I really appreciated. The hotel is a bit outside the city center, but it’s easy and affordable to get there by bus or Uber.

Je nach Zimmer ein tolles Hotel, wir hatten Glück und ein tolles Zimmer bekommen mit super Ausblick. Leider ist uns während des Aufenthalts nie jemand begegnet, der sich um den Indoorpool kümmerte. Nach einigen Tagen wurde das Wasser immer trüber, als wir dies meldeten, wurde irgendetwas reingekippt, was dafür sorgte, dass wir alle Augenreizungen und Atemprobleme bekamen. Schade! Zum Teil unfreundliche Abfertigung an der Rezeption, andere Mitarbeiter extren freundlich. Frühstück super, aber jeden Tag gleich.

Onze hotelkamer was zeer schoon, elke dag werden de bedden opgemaakt en de handdoeken zo nodig vervangen. Zelfs het beddengoed werd na een paar dagen vervangen. Het personeel was in elk opzicht zeer vriendelijk en van het zwembad en de spa hebben we zeer genoten. .

The room they gave us was one floor up from the main street. We stayed 4 nights. There was construction on the street beneath us, beginning early in the morning. We asked for a room change 3 days without success. Also, the AC in the room did not work. We were told it was not working in the whole hotel. I would not recommend at all. It was very expensive for too many inconveniences, without any compensation from the hotel.

The hotel is beautifully appointed, especially the family pool, indoor pool and spa area. However, be very careful not to book an interior room. Our room was inward facing directly over the reception area, guest lounge and cocktail bar (thankfully closed out of season). The noise of voices was amplified due to the inner courtyard design of the hotel which created an echo chamber effect. Unfortunately we could not get to sleep before 3am on any night of our stay. This did severely impact our stay, which was booked for the purpose of rest and recuperation. The hotel should make very clear that interior rooms might be affected by nighttime noise so that customers can make an informed choice as to whether to book or not.

Average stay. Think four star is pushing it - more in the realms of a nice three star. Balcony view incredible, room clean enough but the interior is dated and requires a revamp. Reception staff nagging each other when checking in - pretty unprofessional and stared us off on a weird vibe. Lobby is lovely. Room had a weird smell to it kind of care home like (?) don’t know how to describe it. For what we paid and one night in Mellieha - it was more than adequate. Unsure if I’d be so happy if it was for a week.

Our stay at this hotel was spoiled by having our room downgraded on arrival. Although we booked and paid for a double room with a balcony we ended up with an dingy economy room without a balcony or anywhere to sit except the bed. All we got in compensation was an apology and some vouchers to use in the buffet dining hall (which only used a couple of times, as not much of a dining experience). So be warned. Might be worth calling the hotel to check they have your room before travelling. The room was bad enough that we ended up cutting our holiday short. For the aforementioned reason we would not choose to stay at this hotel again. However the area around the hotel feels safe and there are numerous eating options available close by. Food and drink prices were surprisingly reasonable even in the hotel. The hotel's Italian restaurant is very good and the staff there are excellent. There is also a sports bar linked to the hotel across the road from the lobby where you can get food from the hotel and watch a choice of sports channels. Staff again very friendly and helpful. The nearest beach is a 15 minute walk downhill along the main road and is quite busy when you get there. There are also public buses you can catch either way if you don't fancy the walk back (uphill) or if you want to explore the island. The were sunbeds at the hotel's pools but there is limited space for a large hotel so a bit crowded in with other guests for my liking and we were not in high season.

This was such a beautiful hotel. Our suite had a terrace with the most incredible view of Mellieha Bay. The breakfast exceeded expectations with so many options. The only small negative was an extremely miserable employee named Victorjia who checked us in. Otherwise, stay was perfect.

We came here in the evening and the lady at the reception was quite ignorant - she rolled her eyes when I asked her to repeat something about the towels. Once in the room we discovered that they had given us an economy room without a balcony and without a king size bed instead of a standard one with a balcony and a king size bed. When we went to the front desk to tell them that they said it wasn't their problem because they didn't have any other rooms available. Security went to check the room and after 30 minutes they gave us the room we booked, but we had to leave it the next morning because they had to give it to someone else!!! They gave us another downgraded room again for the last two nights we had left here. Lest we forget the view is a room facing a wall.

Check in staff were very welcoming on arrival. Hotel rooms were wonderful, very spacious and comfortable. We had a junior suite with city view but the noise from the road meant we didn’t really use our balcony although furniture on there was comfortable. Lovely pool downstairs in the garden and a lovely rooftop pool for adults. Unfortunately the bars on the roof and downstairs were both closed for our stay which we were disappointed about. There was a bar across the road called the 120 that was advertised and part of the hotel but we didn’t go in.

Upon arriving at the hotel in the evening, we discovered that there were no rooms available for us in the two rooms we'd booked months in advance. This was very disappointing! We spent our first night at the Best Western, a 15-minute drive away. Our hotel compensated for this inconvenience by offering us a free breakfast. The next day, we get a room, and because it was my birthday, a surprise awaited me in the room: a beautifully decorated bed, a cookie, and wine. This completely stole my heart. The guests were mostly elderly. The rooms facing the street were a bit noisy. The pools were great. The breakfast was excellent. Be careful with the parking lot. The entrance was very dangerous, only for experienced drivers and small cars.

The behaviour of the desk staff was appalling, characterised by poor communication and a lack of professionalism. The only employee who demonstrated an understanding of hospitality was Lady Libby, who I believe was the guest relations officer. We had a positive experience at Maritime last year, which is why we decided to return to this hotel. However, we were deeply disappointed by the unacceptable behaviour of the front desk staff towards us.

The staff were all friendly and professional and extremely helpful. The hotel itself has excellent amenities and cleanliness was wxcellent. The hotel location was great with ample choice of restaurants within a couple of minutes of the hotel and even more choice within a 15 minute walk, as is the beach which has great facilities and waterspouts too. We are a family of 5 (kids are 14,12 and 9) and we had a superb week here.

Despite being platinum Expedia members, we didn't get a room upgrade. Which is fine if the hotel was fully booked. Although I doubt it was due to it being off season. Plus, we were put in the worst room in the hotel. Basically what felt like a basement room. Right above a noisy bar. Which kept us awake most nights with music and people shouting. The room was directly attached to another room which had a flimsy cupboard style door between us. You could hear everything from the neighbours. Even if they were simply breathing. Room key card kept breaking and the walk to reception was very long to get it fixed each time. We were in what felt like another building across the road from the main building. The staff were rude when I asked why it kept happening and blamed us for storing the key card next to our phones etc. Which we weren't. You could hear doors slamming all the time. The room was also very musty and the AC broke. All in all, this hotel paints itself as quite luxurious, but it's a 3 star at max. If you're looking for a quiet stay somewhere look elsewhere.

We arrived slightly early and was greeted by a receptionist who was not welcoming at all and said check in is af 1500 and to come back at 1500. Did not even say hello or ask us our name. At 1500 as expected, the queue for check in was huge! I have never been to a hotel ever (and I travel a lot) where they do not ask you your name and check if room is ready. I work as front office in a 5* hotel myself, so was surprised by this. We decided to go for a suite this time, but to be honest it was not worth the extra money. Not really any different to a normal room. Had a sofa bed but we didn’t need this. We sat by the adult pool during the day and was surprised to see children there. This was one reason we choose this hotel so could relax without children screaming and crying! The choice of breakfast was as good as always. Considering we choose a quiet time, we had to source our own cutlery as hardly any tables laid up. To be honest overall I was disappointed with our stay this time.

It is a nice hotel. Nit a firework, but good for the money I paid. Room was small but comfortable , with a nice view, cleaning exceptional, good breakfast. It is far away from the most attraction. You need more than an hour to get anywhere. I did not realise then booked. Swimming pool on top was not heated. The small covers one invaded with kids lumping on your head / no supervision at all. I had one masssge with CBD 75 minutes - supurb!

Dejligt hotel tæt på restauranter. Da hotellet ligger på en bakke var det dejligt at busserne stoppede lige ude foran så man nemt kunne komme frem og tilbage til stranden og nærliggende byer. Vi hoppede på x1 ved lufthavnen og blev sat af 100 meter fra hotellet 👍 Der var virkelig god service og de hjalp med at bestille en taxa til os om natten. Da vi skulle flyve kl. 6:00 Overskuelige priser ved pool baren 2,5 euro for sodavand, is te osv. og 6-8 euro for cocktails Værelset var pænt, rent og rummelig. Selvfølgelig var enkle ting slidt, men det er klar med alle de turister. Vi brugte ikke spa afdelingen men jeg hørte flere snakke om at de var meget tilfredse. Vi fik morgenmads buffet en enkel dag da vi skulle på udflugt. Den var ligesom den er på alle andre hoteller, der var æg, brød, frugt, pålæg, juice vand, yoghurt osv. det var fint men ikke noget vi gjorde igen. Alt i alt et rigtig dejligt ophold 😊☀️ Og vi kunne godt finde på at komme igen.

Die Lage des Hotels ist ideal, wenn man viele Ausflüge machen möchte. Der Bus hält direkt vor dem Hotel. Zum Essen hat es mehrere Restaurants in der Umgebung. Ans Meer geht man zu Fuss ca. 20 Min. alles abwärts oder mit dem Bus.

Great location, amazing breakfast, great pools on the top floor with amazing views of Mellieħa, the bay and also pools in the garden levels. The main attractions within walking distannce and the beach is a 4 km from the hotel. There is great bus service on the island with a bus stop 10 steps from the hotel door. I haven't tried the spa. Room and bed were great, all very comfortable. I got the room for about $70,00 in late October.

Lovely hotel. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and waiting staff in all the restaurants were all superb..very attentive. Cleaners constantly worked hard around the hotel making sure all areas were clean. Disappointed that the cocktail bar wasnt opened in the lobby, the sports bar across the road didnt compare. No free shuttle bus running to the beach either. We were also unlucky to have builders in the room next door to us, but it didnt spoil our break. Nice area but could do with some more shops, not much to do in area but bus stop really close. Be prepared to stand part of the way on packed buses but good value at 2.50 Euros everywhere. Recommend visit to Mdina (taxi 30 Euros), beautiful walled city, dont bother with the land train though.

Great hotel, very clean with amazing dinning options. Great public transport links, Costa coffee just outside and convenient stores. Rooftop dinning and bar is spacious. Spa prices aren’t the best, breakfast buffet decent but quite basic would’ve have liked more vegetarian options.

This is a lovely hotel and breakfast was good. Staff are helpful and friendly too. I was disappointed though to find that all of their restaurants and the lounge bar were closed for refurbishment. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere on Expedia or their own website. I chose this hotel over the other ones in Mellieha specifically for the lounge because I was visiting out of season and on my own.

Our first stay in this Hotel and we loved it! Positives: - Breakfast is great with plenty of choices to suit everyone. - Thai restaurant on the roof of the hotel has very good food with breathtaking viewsall the way to Comino - Rooftop pool (adults only), Ground floor pool with multi-level waterfall, Indoor pool & Jacuzzi, & just 15min walk to the beach so you can swim whatever the weather. - Very nice cocktails served at the pool bar. - Staff are very friendly and helpful. - Room was very spacious (we stayed in a family suite) with a massive balcony on the 8th floor. - Reasonable room prices for what you get. Negatives: - Roof top pool is only for 16 year olds and above so I was not allowed to swim up there with the kids. - Ground floor pool (allows kids) but it was quite cold as it is partially shaded by the hotel. - Underground garage has a very tight swirly entrance - Prices for cocktails are on the pricy side but very tasty. Summary: All in all our stay was fantastic. Yes we did have an incident on our final day with one of my kids falling in between the pools & cutting her leg needing stitches at the local hospital, staff were very kind and gave us a very late checkout so that she could keep her leg up in the room. One suggestion, Since the ground floor pool is kids friendly, something needs to be in place to deter the children from trying to climb between the levels of the pool to avoid any future accidents. It could have been much worse if she hit hear head.

Really helpful staff especially in the restaurants, very clean hotel and room. Convenient and quiet location away from the bay, easy access to the bus nearby. Superb food in the Al Fresco and Al Ponte restaurants with excellent service.

The staff were helpful and polite and the room was clean and tidy. However we were not told about the bar indoors near Reception being closed. We knew in advance some pools and outdoor bars would be closed, but this meant that there were no facilities for us to sit in and relax. We did have one coffee in the reception area and this was nice. The outside bar on the opposite side of the street which was part of the hotel, was closed when we visited, and just presumed this was because it was January and therefore quiet. The gym and indoor pool were good and we would definitely come back to this hotel. It’s relaxing in Winter and I’m sure it’s just as nice in Summer.
