This is a boutique hotel meaning there is no staff on site (but Todd was very responsive to my questions) and the building is quite old. Parking is free but there are few spots which are very tricky to maneuver - you have to slot the vehicle into a tiny space under a pergola or line up along the building. The main hallway smelled strongly of wet soccer cleats but the unit itself smelled fine. We stayed in Unit 3 on the main floor and I would not recommend it if you like a firm bed. The middle of the mattress was like a bowl and my husband and I kept rolling toward the centre. The door frame for the bathroom and deck were both quite warped and very difficult to open/close without putting your shoulder into it. The ceiling fan blades were in dire need of cleaning and were so dusty, there was no way I would turn it on! There is a kitchenette with a small fridge, toaster, coffee maker, dish ware, etc which was a nice bonus. The deck with seating area was nice. The location of the hotel is great and within a short walking distance to the Confederation Centre for the Arts, waterfront, downtown shopping, restaurants, etc.

Liked quiet, safe, convenience, parking. Did not like 33 steps up to my unit, no advanced warning - no elevator. Poor room checking, e.g. coffee-making packages never replaced. Never was able to get TV to play more then one channel.

This hotel is in a great location; it's right in downtown Charlottetown, so it's close to dining and places of interest. Check-in was interesting - the room keys were in a locked box and the code was sent by text and voicemail from the owner. There's guest parking on the property.

Absolutely loved it! The architecture of the building is charming. Suite no 6 is vast, has a kitchen (well equiped) and the hotel has lovely terrasses at the back :) Just a stone's throw from downtown. Next time in Charlottetown, I'll be coming back.

Okay if you want an experience . Not so good for seniors especially with narrow staircase to the top floor. Room and bathroom are small. Bed was comfortable though.

Quirky boutique hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here despite a few shortcomings. Hot water and water pressure are issues. Our room was pretty small. This is not a place for anyone with any physical or mobility issues.

The property is so well situated. Everything in the downtown area is a very short walk. Parking is very convenient. The room was clean and reasonably spacious. The multi-level outdoor decks with a gas BBQ is really great. The host is always quick to respond to any questions and is helpful. We will certainly stay here again on our next trip to Charlottetown.

It's a beautiful building until you get inside, then it's all downhill from there. I only read the first few reviews which were ok, but I should have read further. It reminded me of Europe in the 1960's trying to travel on a limited budget. Holes in the floor, holes in the ceiling, cat urine smell

We were in Suite 2, which was very small but we expected that for the price. Pros: Great location, shared 3-story patio out back, free parking. Fairly quiet. Cute and historic decor. Portable air conditioner worked well. Large closet. Dishware, mini fridge, microwave, hot plate, and sink in room. Cons: Cleanliness (there was hair and grime in the shower, hair all over the bedding, and the box spring of the bed wasn't enclosed—it just had a top sheet draped over it). No staff (we spoke to someone over the phone to get access instructions). Hallway smelled like cat pee. Bathroom isn't fully enclosed, there's a large gap between the top of the door and the ceiling. Trash and recycling cans out back were full so we couldn't empty our room waste.

More resembles a motel than a boutique B&B experience. Our sheets were stained and dirty, and the fridge had food/opened cans from the guests before which made us skeptical of the overall cleanliness of the room. The hallways smell really unpleasant of urine/cigarette smoke. I would not recommend this place, given how many other options are in the area.

The property was filthy. We had to purchase our own cleanser to clean surfaces and the shower area. Therre was no staff.The entire property stank of cat. Coikd not breathe comfortably. The worst place I have ever stayed. You paid in advance so would be out money if you left. Horrible experience. NEVER again. Beware the description of a "boutique hotel". Positive reviews must be fake.

Great location. Responsive communication. We choose the heritage boutique hotel but found the suite neglected and need of renovation. Bathroom had a dip soft spot on the floor, 3 holes on the wall, moldy caulking on the shower, door sticking. Kitchen had hot plate, plates and cutlery but no pots and frying pans to cook. Bed frame was broken and leaning towards headboard with terrible squeaking. Owner/manager repaired bed frame the next day but bed still had terrible squeak making it very difficult to sleep. The property common area and suite had a musty, old smell.

Tours Day July 10th, We arrivés at the room and thé smell of cat urine was very intense and unbearable. We were therefore unable to occupy Thais room as the situation. We contacted thé owner, who came to the location and shock our hand, confirming that he would refund our money without any problem since we were not going to occupy it. This man is very dishonest because even today,after twi months, he still won’t refund us. We had to rent another room nearby. Nobody can sleep in such a noxious odor !

The entry way had a terrible odour of cat urine. The room we had was number 7. They must keep this unit for booking on discount sites because the bathroom shower was full of black mold and around the sink was missing drywall and in need of repair. A towel bath mat was on the floor and under it was an extreme soft spot in the floor, it felt like we were going to fall through.

Overall our trip to PEI was excellent! Also, We knowingly booked the smallest room (as it was all that was available). The room was ok but the bed was not good. Sagging and very squeaky. Our stay was to see PEI and not to be in the room much so we made due! Good property but don't book room #7 if you need a good bed.

Perfect location, walkable to waterfront and shopping. Quiet. Rooms on lower floors looked nice but ours on top floor was a hodgepodge of furnishings with spotty hot water and water pressure.

We stayed in room 8, which has a closet turned into a washroom. Smells funny, ac is crap, floor is soft in areas and feels like you will fall through, minimal parking, bed is on a slant and uncomfortable. Not worth the money

Only thing available. Great communication from property manager. Room definitely dated, the door wasn’t totally shut when I arrived, as well as it was incredibly difficult to open and close. Literally had to put all of my body weight into it. However, bed was clean, comfy and great a/c!

You can tell they are doing the best with what they have to work with and we appreciated the little details like contactless check in, bath amenities, coffee/tea, and quality linens. Our room also had a mini fridge which was important to us and the patio was nice in the sunny mornings. Parking is also a plus this close to downtown Charlottetown. You can walk easily to the waterfront and all popular restaurants. However, there was a lack of comfort and given the price we paid, the value didn’t meet our expectations. There was a lack of hot water, very run down bathroom facilities with a sinking floor, and an AC unit that works well but is extremely loud so if you are a light sleeper, you won’t be able to use it at night. I’m not sensitive to scent but you can instantly smell the age of this place when walking in the door. Overall, though charming on the outside and a pleasant experience with check in, we’d spend another $30-40 a night to have newer facilities.

Pros: Easy, hassle free check-in. Quick, helpful replies from owner. Location is excellent, walking distance to town. Good AC at a very hot period. Outdoor sitting area on decks. Secured parking. Comfortable bed. Clean room. They tried to think of all needs for the room. Cost of room was good. We had a good sleep both nights and felt the bed was good quality. Cons: We had no hot water for shower— we don’t know if it was due to weather. Floor in washroom was spongy so would need a look for soft floorboards. The room was small so bed against wall and limited space for luggage. Decor was okay. I think the place is good for backpackers, younger couple, those who are thrifty. It lacked the feel and decor of heritage and is more practical in nature. There are a lot of stairs and no railing for top floor, with ledge to outdoor sitting area — so suggest it is not the right place for older couples, families or those with bad knees or low mobility. We saw a room on main floor which was quaint and larger so our selection might not have been the best — however we slept well and felt the location was ideal. I think you need to search for the option that suits your needs — this was fine for us.

nous avons été réveillé à 3:30 a.m. par un chat qui miaulait et qui a uriné dans l'entrée de la maison en plus il a brisé le mur de l'entrée .nous avons donc décidé de quitter la chambre en avisant le propriétaire. celui-ci nous a déclaré qu'il remettrais la chambre sur le marché et que s'il louais il nous rembourserais les nuitées relouées. apès vérifications il a sous-loué et ne nous a pas rembousé.
