Hilton Albany

Everything was pretty good except for the fact that they don’t tell you until you get there that you have to pay for parking. So that made the $180 room $200. Then we got 2 gatorades charged to the room for $4 a pop and suddenly I’m being charged $226. Not sure why but this is the second time I was charged extra from a hotel. I leave the place clean nothing broken we were barely in the hotel to be honest. We stayed overnight and left early. Why was I charged extra money yet again?

So I thought with the name being Hilton it would have been a nice little mother daughter sleep over for my daughters dance competition. Pool and hot tub being the main reason I choose this hotel. Well there’s no hot. It’s filled in with concrete. The room is outdated and the tub fills up with water when you shower. My key card won’t work for the parking garage. Very disappointed especially because of the price I paid for one night. Will never stay here again. I would have been happier at a days inn.

I picked this hotel because it had a gym and a pool. When we checked in we were told the pool closed at 11pm. We got down there at 10pm and there were no clean towels, the lights were dimmed/almost off, and the pool water even felt cold. Also, the door was being held open with a towel and there was a note there saying that the door lock wasn't working. The gym had very limited equipment and was missing half of their weights. The lighting in the room is terrible. There really aren't enough lights and the ones that are there, the bulbs aren't bright enough. Our shower was terrible it stopped up so bad it was like taking a bath while showering. And the ceiling was peeling terribly. I'm glad I only stayed here 1 night. I won't stay here again. The parking garage is a bit dingy too, I was very surprised by that. And we left the garage shortly after checkout and already our keycard wouldn't work to let us out of the garage. Since they have restaurants on the premises, it doesn't make sense that the key card won't let you exit that soon after checkout. I'd say find another hotel, this one is not worth your money. It definitely wasn't worth mine.

The supervisor Shirin was wonderful! She greeted us in the best way, but if not for her, some of the cleaning staff, and us celebrating a wedding then I would have given a lower rating. The property was run down, toilet needed replacing, and mini-frig froze out water and food. The pool was freezing cold with a metal pipe dribbling water. Worst part was there were no towels. I went to the front desk to ask for towels and they said they would send them down. 40 minutes later we were wet and cold. When I asked a suited employee walking by for assistance, they dismissed me and said “I don’t know where you would get towels”. Needless to say, I went into the fitness center to grab three sweat towels for my 4-year old, wife, and me to dry off a little before going up to the room. I expect more from the Hilton brand. I’ve had good if not great experiences in the past.

Business trip and the hotel was in a central location and close to all. I walked away from the bar as I was trying to order and the delay was too much to get the bartender’s attention. There was no order

Shuttle service, brutal. Called from train station, they said it would be 30-40 minutes, after an hour, called back after waiting, and waiting, said it would be at least another hour.If you know the hotel is sold out that day, why have only 1 shuttle driver on. Took an Uber, and empty shuttle van parked at hotel

The website showed a hot tub but it was covered over with a permanent floor. The pool was freezing as well as the pool area

The pool was very dirty and there was no light because the spotlights were not working. And the staff provided poor service But the hotel room was very clean and tidy.

First room had large puddle on floor from leaking refrigerator. Second room, air conditioner smelled musty, mold in bathroom, light fixtures without shades

The room was unclean. The lighting was dim and dismal. My bathroom was grimey on the floor from what looked like construction dust. There was a hole in the wall outside of my door.

The staff and manager were very friendly. Checkin and checkout were fine. The restaurant waitress was an angel. The room was not the clean. The counters and vanity were not clean. The floor around the closet had white powder (I think plaster) and the wall next to the entry door had a hole. The hall outside our door had dishes on the floor Friday when we checked in and remained until Sunday at checkout. Do not recommend.

This hotel is a dump. Hallways are dirty, my room had stains on the floor, the ac barely worked, the ice machines were all broken, the elevators were broken, the front door was broken, the front desk was understaffed, and basically everything in this hotel was dirty or broken. I am stunned a downtown Hilton was this bad. It’s more like a motel 6 than a Hilton. Can’t believe I paid that much for a place that disgusting.

Very dirty room. Stains on carpet, stains on linen, with dust and crumbs in the room. We moved out after one night stay, canceling the rest of the reservation.

Came from New Jersey for a comedy show. Drove 3 1/2 hrs to find our room dusty, light bulbs out, and poor cleanliness. I had to go around with a wash cloth and wipe down all the tables/phone/fridge because it was caked in dust. I spent over 300$ for this room and to come in to a dirty room and light bulbs out is highly disappointing. Will not be staying here again

Sketchy area of town. We were referred to dinner by front desk staff, got to War Room and it was not good food. They were out of filets at a self proclaimed sushi & steakhouse on a Saturday. They had 3 tables sat in the whole place when we arrived. Then we got to our room around 1030p and found out we were out of shampoo and body wash in the provided dispensers. We called to have room service bring it up. Never received it! The bathtub also had a black film or streak of something they couldn’t scrub out apparently. So we checked out of our 9 hour stay at property with no shampoo or body wash in shower or ever brought to us. Luckily my wife had some stuff in her bag we all used. You pay $200+ a night you expect to have better service by Hilton than this!

Very disappointed this stay. I’ve stayed at this hotel twice before and had no complaints. The room they gave me looked like the carpet had not been vacuumed in ages and the same goes for the hallways. We stayed here 3 nights and one of the rooms left plates outside which were never picked up in those 3 nights up until today that we left, the plates and wine glass were still there; I find that disgusting and laziness from housekeeping and lack of management. The shower was clogged and the tub kept getting full with water because it was not draining.

Bathroom was not cleaned well upon arrival. Tissue box had 2 tissues left. Bathroom counter had hair on it. Office chair surface was torn. Rug was dirty. I will not stay here again.

Everyone was very polite. Hotel itself was very clean. Only bad thing I can think of was the heat/ac in the room. With it being winter, the ac wouldn’t cool. But that was no big deal. We just like to sleep with a little air flow. Definitely a good choice when going to the MVP arena. And a bonus. Nothing seemed to be open nearby to grab a drink. Thankfully the hotel bar/restaurant was open late to grab a drink and quick bite. It was packed at 10pm but there’s no way you would hear the noise from our room on the 10th floor. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Overall, our stay was just average. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. However, booking through a third party left us a bit surprised with the room options. We had booked a standard single King-size bed through Expedia, but when we checked in, we were informed by Hilton staff that due to a third-party booking, they only had rooms with two queen-size beds. They explained that they prioritize guests who book directly with Hilton. While the room downgrade was disappointing, we tried to overlook it. The facility itself was clean, but one of the two queen-sized beds in our room had stained sheets. Thankfully, we had two beds to choose from, so we opted for the clean one. The bathroom was okay, but it definitely needed some minor updates. There was a warped toilet seat, an odd-shaped tub, and I even found a bug crawling on the bathroom vanity. The vanity top looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned well either. On a different note, we were given a room with a door that connects to the room next door. While this wasn’t a major issue since the door locks and has another safety mechanism, it seemed to be paper-thin. All night, I could hear the people next door playing music and having sex, which was quite disruptive. I had hoped to sleep in silence, but I had to turn up the volume on the TV to drown out the noise. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel again.

My recent stay at the Hilton Albany was average overall. While the hotel is conveniently located, the experience left something to be desired. I stayed on the 13th floor, and the room itself was basic nothing particularly noteworthy about the furnishings or amenities. Additionally, I noticed that the room was a bit drafty, which made it slightly uncomfortable, especially in the evenings. The breakfast options were also limited, which was disappointing considering the hotel’s reputation. I would have expected a more varied selection, especially for the price point. That said, the staff were polite and efficient during check-in and check-out, and the common areas were clean and well-maintained. While my stay was not unpleasant, I don’t feel it stood out as a memorable experience. If you’re looking for a convenient place to stay in Albany without high expectations, this hotel could work, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

The room needs to be updated. The heating system is EXTREMELY loud and made sleeping quite difficult.

We stayed here so we could walk to a concert at MVP Arena. The property itself and lobby area were very nice. Our room could use a little updating. It wasn't too bad, but not quite up to what we usually see in Hilton's rooms.

The rooms are outdated, multiple chips in the ceilings however the rooms were clean and the area was super easy to get around on foot.

The bathrooms was very small including the shower. The shower head was stationary and the tub floor was weirdly curved. Water would get on the floor a lot due to the shower head not being movable. The toilet took at least at a couple attempts to flush each time. Everything else was great, really!

The hotel was affordable and well located. The room was spacious with a good view on the City Hall and Capitol. The main complain is that the wi-fi is extremely slow and difficult to connect to.

I didn’t like how I didn’t get a room till five hours after checking in my room still wasn’t ready and I had to downgrade from the executive room. I paid for a regular room in order to put my daughter to bed.

Check in process needs to be updated. Having only 3 people for a hotel that’s next to an arena is not efficient. Adding a check in kiosk or assigning rooms as they’re being booked would be better options. Bedding was yellow and dingy. Bathroom had grime on shower walls and tub. Every surface had dust. Mini fridge was barely cold. Getting on the wifi was an unnecessarily difficult process. The worst was another person was able to unlock and open our room door with a different room key which was very concerning. Thankfully we were in the room at the time but did not leave us feeling uncomfortable. Just disappointed in our stay since I thought Hiltons were a better quality hotel.

Hotel location and staff were great. We had a room to attend a concert nearby and it was walkable. Came back to shower and the bath mat had hair on it, the trash can had someone's trash in it. It was 12am so we didn't want to bother staff that late at night. It was ok. Didn't realize that there was a daily parking fee until we got there. Nothing anyone can do about it, but there were some unhoused people outside of the hotel. Bar staff was so nice providing complimentary water when we asked for it and made sure to tip him as we didn't order any alcoholic drinks from them

This is the closest hotel to the MVP Arena where we went for a concert, literally across the street. Problem was that the hotel was under staffed and not prepared for when the concert was over, 150-200 people forced to wait in the lobby for elevators to get to their rooms, and No access to the stairs? Is that even legal? Ok so we will have a drink at their bar and wait till the crowd gets smaller? No such luck, bartenders look and act completely overwhelmed, they did their best but not set up for success. No Management anywhere in sight I felt bad for the staff, put in a no win situation. Maybe management should take a look at the event schedule at the arena and staff more accordingly?

We had an issue with our reservation. The manager Daquan promptly addressed the issue and even offered us free parking and extra Hilton points!

Probably the worst experience I ever had in a hotel started with a check in process to the room and the rest of the hotel staff. Just a very miserable bunch of people stay somewhere else this is obviously a poorly managed property.

Great location. Only $25 to park car. Parked and walked all around downtown.

I liked that it was surrounded by historical buildings. I did not like that there were a number of homeless or mentally ill persons.

I really liked the location. We walked to the MVP Arena. Short walk. Alot of places to eat on the way. Excellent service at the check in. Very nice room. Very clean.

It was a great location for waking to places of interest in Albany. The capital building and the Empire State Buildings were 5 minute walk away. Plus Lark street and Washington park were close enough to walk to, plenty of food places and little shops. And Jelly Roll the singer stayed there so you got to figure it’s a good place if famous singers stay there.

the only thing missing was food. the food was terrible in the concierge lounge, old ad dried out. At the bar was terrible also. not cookers obviously the catfish nuggets were prepared in microwave.

We only stay overnight we didn’t have a chance to look around but the property is clean, the beds are comfortable. The only thing was the restaurant is slow and disorganized.

My stay was okay. It was important to me that I was in walking distance of where I needed to go and it was. Food in the restaurant was excellent. However, one of the reasons I chose this hotel was it said it had room service, and room service was unavailable. Also, the desk staff was pretty unfriendly and acted annoyed if you asked them anything. Also they hit me for a $250 amenities charge for “incidentals” which was what, exactly? I had two free 16 Oz bottles of water, was that $250? Nothing in this hotel was free. You even had to pay for parking, and breakfast, so I had no clue what was $250 on top of the $1295 I had already paid.

The young lady at the front desk was truly the best part of this trip. She was kind, efficient and great at her job. She provided information, gave directions and was super helpful. All the front desk staff was. The employees at the restaurant ignored my husband and I for nearly 20 minutes, while greeting and talking with other customers/guests, we left and attempted to order room service, which never happened as the line was never answered and I attempted every 5 minutes for nearly an hour. We ended up getting a slice of pizza front a street vendor because we gave up. The paint in the bathroom was peeling, the smell in the room was that of a used gym bag, left in a trunk of a car overnight. The Starbucks coffee in the hotel closes at 2, but you can get extra tea and coffee for your room from the wonderful front desk employees. (Seriously, they deserve a raise they were so patient) the view we had from the 9th floor was incredible, I do love the old stone buildings, churches, and the colorful blooms on the trees in the nearby parks peeking between the buildings. The hotel is close to everything downtown Albany, it is great for convenience! But waiting for the session lounge, and the room service to answer was exhausting after a day of traveling. Just be prepared to wait or be ignored by the food service part of the staff here, save yourself time and walk the 2 blocks to the Skinny Pancake.

Mr. B’s breakfast sandwiches were exquisite.

The ONLY positive I can give is the location, within walking distance to MVP events. Check in staff were almost nonverbal and not a smile among them. Same with check out, only ruder. The only friendly face was in the on-site restaurant. The food and the price, at $27 each for a very lite breakfast was highway robbery. Rooms had peeling paint on ceiling but very clean and comfortable. I expected much higher quality for the super expensive rate and well known name. Would not stay again.

The breakfast staff was awful. They complained throughout the meal about hating the new CEO and how she is from NH and doesn't know anything. Breakfast was worse than a Days Inn.
