Bahia Principe Escape Samaná - Hyatt Inclusive Collection - Adults Only

This hotel only has one pool. The jacuzzi isn’t even accessible. There was only one option for dinner which is buffet style same menu every day. The breakfast was better because the chef made the eggs to order. There is NO entertainment. They do have a small band singing until 10pm. However there is nothing to do on the property. It is a quiet resort for older couples. The pool bartenders are not friendly and the alcohol is limited. The resort has no champagne for mimosas. The taxi drivers affiliated with the resort are reliable and safe. There was no a la carte restaurant available. The ONLY plus about this resort is the fact that it is close to Cayo levantado which was one of the highlights of my trip. The hotel has a private beach but no beach chairs. Just for views.

Because this property is Non-ADA Compliant it should be noted the beach, certain dining halls, swimming pool, and certain in room restroom, are not accessible. In fact the prperty does not own a shower chair for use by patrons.

Small hotel, right on the street so street noice is loud, they are under construction with very loud noice, food was very limited when we got there because the main dinning area was also close under construction, our room had musty smell, everything is old and it needs updating. We were there only for 20 minutes because we checked out and now they refuse to refund our money. I will have to dispute the charges with our credit card company if they continue to refund the charges, Expedia try to get the money back without any luck but I feel they don’t do enough.

Food leaves room for improvement, basically average nothing exceptional, wished it was better considering what they charge. Pool is rather cold and hot tub is not heated at all, it's just as cold as the pool which was disappointing. Beach was incredible, over all we really enjoyed our stay. Staff is exceptional.

Overall reviews would be back, the views are pretty amazing, the private beach is great, the food was mid, they seem to have many restaurants because you can see the signs and entrances, but most were closed. 2 were open and they only served at certain times which can be inconvenient, but for me was not that big of a deal. Room was really clean, and had everything you needed, but they never stocked my fridge. Very limited room service menu. Pool was super clean so was the beach.

Quiet, spotless, well maintained property with friendly multi-lingual service. No clubs or nearby shopping, if that's what youre looking for. If you want some easy peace on a pivate beach, at a property overlooking the ocean, this is for you. Excellently appointed rooms. Get the all inclusive, easy and minimal price change, for the convenience. Drinks werent very stong, even by weak resort standards, but service and quality were excellent. Nightly entiertainment in the lobby lounge, fun, but also localized, so you can go elsewhere on the property for quiet, if you prefer. Overnight room service all covered in the all inclusive, and a spa with good prices. Would definately revist.

Great hotel and beautiful location. Has very easy access to awesome beach. The pool is really great. Only complaint, the loud music around the pool. Last time we were here, the music was soft and not loud. This time it was very loud. We asked it to be lowered but were told people wanted it that way. Hope they will go back to normal.

The parking is located off site and the walk to the parking lot is dangerous, no sidewalk and poorly lit.

The app had us flying into PUJ which is a 4.5 hour taxi to the resort. No restaurants available. Limited night time entertainment. Pool closed at 6 pm still very warm outside.

Over the top exceptional service. Wendy, Maxwell,Basila and ALL three young women at the front desk. Fernando at the beach bar makes the best mojito I’ve ever had. Beautiful clean beach. We were never unable to find a lounge chair and umbrella. The view cannot be beat and the breeze, I wish I could bottle it. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The pool and hot tub were immaculate. This is the perfect place to rest and relax! Emmanuel is available beside the front desk to help with excursions in case all the relaxing is just too much for you and the buggy excursion we took was such a good time! The tour guids Adam and Martin were so helpful and we always felt safe as there were 3 sets guides closing off roads for our safety. A perfect trip. We will be back!

Some hotel restaurants were closed at height of busy season. Lots of smokers in outdoor areas. I got this as a all inclusive package and when we got there we were informed that we only have breakfast included for 8 days. We had to pay 77 dollars a day in order to be all inclusive and even paying we can only have certain food and drinks. This was horrible, no at all a 5 star hotel or an 9.0 excellent luxury nothing. Bathroom disgusting, bed hard as a wood, food infected with flys and empty trays all the time. The bar at the beach has been closed for months, the little stage by the pool where the suppose to perform activities and shows has also been closed for months. If you go to a la carte restaurant they do not have anything you ask for, but they do have a steak for 35 dollars or a Salmon for 19 dollars. The bar lady told us that she can't do piña colada because there was not piña colada mix, no Lemos or limes. The worst place ever

The service and personnel were excepcional, but the place is loosing quality for a 5-star hotel. For example, the bathroom we stayed in did not reflect the standard (was repaired with very bad finishing), the TV is old with not-so-good image quality, and both the "a la carte" restaurants were closed during our stay. Soon it could loose the 5-Star rating hotel if changes are not made.

Beautiful landscaping but less than desired room. Ceiling fan not working, Mildew smelled bedding, broken shower and dirty rub, water damage ceiling unfinished fixing. dirty/stained walls and doors.. room felt unclean

Views, cleanliness, helpful staff and decent gym for the Caribbean

The room could’ve been cleaner. There were strands of hair on the floor that I know did not belong to me. The bathtub looked like it had bright pink mold on one spot. I was brought nachos with queso and meat and it wasn’t even hot, just kinda warm.

Das Hotel liegt etwa 8 km ausserhalb von Samana, idealerweise verfügt man über ein Auto. Der Trakt 4000 liegt nahe an der Strasse, die Zimmer leiden deshalb unter Strassenlärm. Das Essen war am ersten Abend phantastisch mit leckerem Meeresfrüchte-Vorspeisenbuffet. Am zweiten Abend fehlte das Vorspeisen-Buffet, die Hauptgerichte waren wie gleiche wie am Vortag. Auch am dritten und vierten Tag war das Essen nicht mehr sehr unterschiedlich, aber auf gutem Niveau. Die Unterhaltung war am ersten Abend gut, danach gab's nur noch Billig-Vergnügungen. Es ist ja immer zum Brüllen, wenn 100 kg schwere Brians aus Kanada neben einem schlanken Animateur Limbo tanzen müssen... Dann nur Karaoke. Die Buchungen zu Sehenswürdigkeiten sind total überteuert. Marcus verkaufte uns ein Haitiense Naturpark-Tour für 110 USD p.P., um sie dann am späten Abend wieder abzusagen. In Samana buchten wir gleiche Tour kurzfristig für 55 USD. Die Rincon-Tour für 40 USD p.P. ist enttäuschend, viel Geld, um einen verdreckten Strand zu sehen. Der Parkservice klappt sehr gut, auch ist das Personal freundlich und teilweise auch engagiert.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. It is a friendly quality hotel, excellent food, large rooms with ocean views.

Our overall stay was very good and the staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived at approximately 2pm but our room was not ready, so we were checked in, our luggage held, and were told we could go to the buffet (all-inclusive) and use the resort. Room was big, clean, and had an incredible view! The beaches were gorgeous & staff cleaned area daily, including any Sargassum. The buffet was open 6:30a-10;30a, noon-6pm and 7:30p-10p. The buffet food was average, but the restaurant style menus were incredible. They scheduled us for one as we arrived and we scheduled another to celebrate an special occasion. The food service & bar staff were very professional and did their jobs well! This place has an incredible security staff. We definitely felt safe. Only complaints: The room's ceiling fan was slow & our request to have diet soda in mini fridge was a toss. Smoking is allowed in most areas which sometimes made it difficult to enjoy room balconies, pool area and - on occasion - restaurants. On 2 occasions we noticed VERY young teens (13-15 yo). It only became bothersome (for adult-only hotel) when hearing 'Mom" across the pool as well as having an ear piercing scream when jumping into waves at the beach. VIP services allow 20% off at spa, but not on all services. My pedicure was not included.

Beautiful hotel and grounds, lovely seaside location with sheltered private beach. Very friendly staff. Quiet and restful. Spacious room with good sized balcony with sea view.

Lacknof empathy of hotel management. Due to Melissa Tropical Storm I was forced to abandon the Dominican Republic (ordered so by my employer) and had to cancel my stay at the hotel. After communicating this to the hotel by me and also Expedia (prior to the check-in date), refund was denied. In view of this I will not ever again book at this Hotel.

I love this hotel. I intended to stay for six days, but a single overnight convinced me to book another four days. That morning, I walked up to Zeida at the desk and said, "The sky is too pink, the sand too soft, the ocean too relaxing, the view too spectacular." What I didn't know then but do now is that the employees are exemplary- every single one. By the way, the nightly cost here provides a nice hotel in Boston without the sea of people catering to your every need. Meals here are cheaper than local restaurants. A long list of now friendly faces - I've forgotten too many names - including Braulio, Eddie, Wendy, Sonia, Vani, Saltares, and Kevin - all a tribute to the person in charge of hiring. I'll be back.

The staff was amazing! There were issues with our flight, so we have been stranded at the airport and everything was closed… not only did they offer room service so that we could get something to eat, they walked us to our rooms and showed us all of the amenities within them. I can honestly say that the level of service surpassed anything I’ve ever experienced.

At check-in i wasn't informed about having to make a reservation at the only operating restaurant (Las Olas) besides the sub par buffet. I asked 8 times at different times for availability at the restaurant and was told they were full. I passed by the restaurant 3 times and it was half empty. I went in 30 minute intervals, since I was told that people were leaving while others were coming in every 30 minutes. That never happened, and yet my wife and I were never accomodated. Then I find out that it's only open 1 day. Don Pablo and the Italian restaurant were both closed. No snacks at the bar. While you drink, you munch on salty crackers, pretzels and peanuts. All inclusive but Corona beer must be purchased separately. Pillows were kid size and the foam was almost non existing. The music from the main lobby was horrible and loud. Since Dom Pablo and the Italian restaurant are closed, why not use those closed areas to contain the noise? No consideration at all. When I needed my car to go away for the day, i was told that the guy who gets the cars comes later on. I had to go get the car myself. Who am I? I worked 30 years in the Hospitality industry in NYC and Pennsylvania. I was Director of Housekeeping, Director of Front Office, Director of Operations, and lastly a member of Task Force Division. My wife and I are so saddened by our experience in your facility. We haven't visited Samana in 30 years, and we expected to be WOW'd since so much has improved over time. Not so.

This is definitely not a 5 star hotel. Service is erratic, arbitrary and poor depending on each staff rather than on a hotel standard. There are so many improvements needed that its hard to complete this review but key negatives are: -Lack of restaurants and food options: all restaurants except one are closed including the sunset bar -No TV: all TVs have static and dont work -Fridge in room broken -The gym sucks and is stuffy and in a windowless small room -Staff are super loud even at 6:30am before breakfast you can hear them all shouting at one another (not really 5 star behaviour) - Service is generally poor with some staff simply lying so as not to go our of their way. -The sunset bar is closed and beach bar as well which means you have to walk all the way off the beach up to hotel to get yourself a drink and at sunset when its beautiful you also have go find yourself a drink all the way up at the reception (which means you may miss the sunset) -The music - both background music in restaurants and "live" karoakee style music in evening is terrible particularly considering you are in Latin America -If you are not a drinker: alcoholic beverages and non alcoholic beverages cost the same which is ludicrous. To add to all this my underwear was stolen from my room. While I made a complaint to manager, she never even gave me any news back or any comments. On the upside: this is a very beautiful property with stunning views over Samana Bay and you may even see whales

Staffs are amazing! Very detailed. The manager Hiandra was extremely helpful and informative with our stay. The hotel is beautiful and the view from our balcony was breathtaking and therapeutic. The room was clean and spacious, but unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable, it was hard to sleep. Food was ok, the days we we were there the resort was NOT all inclusive, which is probably why the selection of food was limited and not so fresh. Also no ice cream was ever offered but I have to say the cappuccino was the best there. Fernado the bartender was attentive and made delicious drinks. Iam looking forward to coming back again.

We recently stayed at this hotel and were impressed by the beautiful property. The grounds were well-maintained, and the beachfront location made for a relaxing getaway. My wife and I especially enjoyed spending time on the beach and appreciating the scenic surroundings. The food at the hotel was okay, but we found better dining options in the nearby town. Despite that, our overall experience was very enjoyable, and we would consider returning in the future.

The hotel is very nice, big rooms, private beach and very clean. The service is exceptional.

The surroundings were quaint, and the property, the staff, the food, and the beach were all incredible. We travel extensively, and this was a place we will return to for leisure and a 5-star respite any time! If you are looking for partying -- don't come here. If you want upscale, attentive rest -- this is the place.

Hotel is beautiful and quiet. Great for couples or people who want to relax and rest. Food & drinks needs improvement. Only 2 restaurants were available on our stay.

Beautiful hotel. buffet food option but you need to pay extra. Upgrade gets you ocean view but it’s not all included. Pool clean, room clean, bathtub needs to be replaced. Everyone is friendly. Beautiful beach! Food was okay. I really liked the breakfast buffet. For lunch and dinner, go with the rice, beans, and chicken. What I didn’t like was the flies on the buffet. No AC at the dining places.

I thought the breakfast was great but buffet dinner average and ala carte dinner below average especially the wine .

The hotel is very well kept with lavish rooms and amazing view!!! However, there are no activities, no night life and no entertainment whatsoever for an all adult hotel. The variety of food offered is very limited and is not good.
