The check-in process started our stay out poorly. We arrived early, hoping to drop off our luggage and change after the train. We were told that our room should be ready 15:00 - 15:30, which is pretty standard. When we came back at about 15:15, we waited for about 15 minutes before they told us the room would not be ready until 17:00. Given the heat and travel, we were eager to get settle and freshen before exploring, but could not. After checking in, on first opening of the door, the apartment had a very strong presence of cleaner fumes, quite overbearing. We had to open all the windows to manage the fumes. Aside from the space itself was good, two bedrooms, full kitchen, dining table, separate toilet and shower rooms and a large balcony. One issue we had, and its personal preference, is the lack of Air Conditioning. I understand, this is not an issue for much of the year, but in June, it is very hot. You can open the windows, but then every random smoker walking by impacts your space.

The communal areas of the property were well maintained and welcoming. The staff were generally friendly and helpful. Hotel was in a good location. Breakfast was varied and wholesome. Provision of free 24 hour tea, coffee and water was a welcome facility. However, the first room we were allocated was on a corner, with only a glazed door which opened on to s communal deck with only a net curtain for privacy. When questioned the staff member said, for privacy we would have to close the external wooden shutters, which was a bit of a nuisance. The room was affected by extremely noisy wastewater plumbing from other rooms. Which woke us up early in the morning. We requested a room change and were given a room on the top floor which wad unbearably hot , very small with no proper shower. Overall, we felt we were fobbed off with the lower quality rooms in the hotel. This maybe a reflection of the price we paid nut even so I don’t think it unreasonable to expect a high degree of comfort.

An older property & amenities are a bit older like the shower & gym but it’s still nice. Carpet floors if that matters. But the staff are all so friendly and helpful and accommodating. Location & view is also great.
