Eurostars Universal Lisboa

Very nice hotel, with very nice and helpful staff (Vivania and Antonio). Would definitely stay here again. The only disappointment is that the Rooftop was closed while we were here so no swimming nor rooftop bar. This was a disappointment as we booked this hotel to take advantage of this feature.

What a false advertisement!!! I booked this hotel because it was our last night in Portugal and we wanted to be close to the airport, but also the rooftop pool and bar were by far the selling points! At 4pm we walked up to the pool and as we were about to get in, we were stopped and informed that the entire rooftop area was off limits for a private event. We were not informed of this at all during our check in. As we were going back to the room an announcement came on saying the building was being evacuated and kept playing for 30 minutes. When we went to the meeting point we were informed that this was a false alarm. In talking to other guests and complaining about the pool, they said they knew about it a few days earlier when they check in. We called the front desk they said that it was a pop up event and they couldn’t prepare for it in advance. When we checked out we complained and they said “it was raining anyway” which was a lie. The fact that we were not informed, provided compensation, or any solution was a huge disappointment!

Roof top was beautiful

This hotel was booked for roof pool, it is the photograph icon for the property but when we got there we were told it’s closed. But no discount was given. So for 2 nights we paid for opportunity to swim and could not. This really was let down and not good of hotel to not advertise or notify close to booking as i would have picked hotel with pool. Not happy for price paid.

On the first morning I had brunch I was rushed out before I was ready because they were preparing for another event. The buffet was to be opened until 10:30. I arrived a little before 10:00am and was approached twice to leave because it was 10:30. Wine glasses were left on tables too long on several occasions from the night before. The hotel had an unpleasant odor on our floor. Their menu is not varied enough. The swimming pool bar was closed because it was now October even though the weather was hot. There were many wine glasses left behind the bar that had not been cleared away, but when I went downstairs to the bar to get drinks to bring up to the pool, I was told i could only bring a can and a paper cup. The food at the brunch was excellent.

I can’t say enough about this amazing hotel! The food was incredible, dinner and breakfast was served by wonderful staff . I am a genuine foodie, coming from the restaurant business and this was unlike any hotel experience I’ve ever had. The view from the infinity pool and bar was incredible. Close to airport , train station, and 10 min uber ride to Lisbon central. By the way the room was so delightful with the best shower I have experienced in a long time, perfect for a romantic 1st night in Lisbon

Lovely! Spa, steam room, and rooftop pool were fab. Would absolutely return. Thank you for a great kick off to our vacation in Portugal.

Business trip. Great breakfast, top swim pool very good - nice view. Room view was not special, but not a big deal - go to the pool. Spa Sauna was great - A comment from Finn. Gym was small. Room is small but ok for me. I liked the location good restaurants nearby river. Air condition worked well. Shower was also good. Vasco de Cama shopping center and Tower very close. Booked three extra nights.

Absolutely unacceptable experience for a so-called 5-star hotel. I stayed at this hotel from 23 to 26 November, and during my stay I found a large cockroach inside my room. This is shocking for any hotel, but completely intolerable for a place that advertises itself as a luxury 5-star property. What made the situation even worse was the reaction from the staff. Instead of acknowledging the seriousness of the hygiene issue, they told me that the room was “perfectly cleaned” and that cockroaches are “natural,” so I should simply understand it. This is one of the most unprofessional and dismissive responses I have ever received from any hotel. Despite requesting daily cleaning, the housekeeping service only made the bed and changed towels — no real cleaning was done at all. This raises serious concerns about the hotel’s overall hygiene standards and maintenance practices. I have stayed here several times in the past, but this experience completely destroyed my trust in this hotel. A 5-star rating should mean high standards, safety, and cleanliness — none of which were met during my stay. I strongly advise future guests to reconsider staying here until the hotel addresses its hygiene problems and trains its staff to handle complaints professionally.

Hotel decided to close and renovate spa and fitness in the most expensive week of the year ($+-1000$ USD a night). While they renovated the spa, my room smelled for 4 days like sh.t. The size of the hotel room is closet size. In general it's clean but I found a cockroach in my room... a first in Europe. One day we where out of running water when I came back at night, next morning no water, I called the reception and they offered me to go to a sister hotel to shower... LOL!!! Somehow miraculously after my call the water came back. Well... the location is good if you need to attend the Fiera. But they won the 5* in a lottery. 3-4* Max. Oh btw. i had booked 4 rooms in the hotel... all the same, I'm the only one with a cockaracha. I honestly felt taken advantage of.

Cockroaches in the wellness area, crazy, running around in there

Overall my stay at this hotel was pleasant and many aspects of the experience were good. However, I was really taken off guard by the condition of the bedding. My sheets were ripped and the pillowcase had a hole with visible dirt in it as well , which is very surprising for a hotel that presents itself as five-star . While the rest of the stay went smoothly, this issue stood out and did not meet the level of quality I expected especially for a hotel that claims itself as a luxury 5 star hotel .

First: The Staff is extremely friendly and super helpful! 5 Stars plus for all of them from housekeeping to reception, chapeau!! The building itself has some flaws. We had to change the room because the odor coming from the shower sewer was unbearable,but without hesitation we got a different room. At nighttime there seems to be a racetrack around the area,but that must be a problem for all the hotels there. The breakfast was fantastic. There are some good restaurants in the area as well.

Super clean and spacious rooms!

Entire floor had a very bad smell. Combination of sewer and old food. Very strange. AC did not cool the room. Sheets were itchy.

Rooms are too small, no desk for business travellers. It's a very good hotel with amazing staff, it's just not worth 5 stars

Great 3 night stay at the Eurostars Universal. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Hotels was modern and very clean and well maintained. The only criticism (and its a small one) is the desk in the room is quite small. So if you're there for business it can be a bit cramped to work from the desk. However there are cafes and public spaces that work very well. Wifi was fast and easy to connect.

Very happy with the hotel, but I don’t think it merits 5 stars. Rooms don’t have enough space for a desk, the bathrooms are tight, there is nothing special about the room that would merit 5 stars. Lovely lunch with a very lovely girl waiting on us.

The hotel is beautiful, modern and clean However the windows are not airtight. This was a problem since the hotel is beside “Oriente” main bus/train station. I had to put my ear plugs on so that I can sleep

It’s way to small for the price

I was upgraded to a larger room which was great. The location was okay. The room was clean, however, the window was broken, and we heard traffic noise all night. I would have liked breakfast to be included.

Lovely hotel, great rooftop pool/bar but disappointed as rooftop bar closed in the evening. May be weather related as late in the season. Room very noisy and relatively small, despite paying over £200 p/n. Train track behind, crane next to the window and airport runway approx 3 km away but planes constantly passing by and I could hear them land. Breakfast great! Didn’t eat any other meals there. Had to get the bus in to Lisbon town centre. Easy to do (728), and takes 20 mins).

Not best for tourism. 20 minutes away from downtown where all the activities are. pool too small, and rooms ate small. But very nice staff.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, the breakfast was excellent, and the room was comfortable and well maintained. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Everything was great — I truly loved my stay and would highly recommend it.

Such a great experience. The young men at the desk- Diego, Thiago and Digho, were so kind and accommodating. I would return here again and again when I'm Lisbon.

The check-in staff seemed inexperienced—she struggled to locate my reservation and failed to explain any of the hotel amenities, only noting that breakfast came at an additional cost. My VIP status wasn’t acknowledged at check-in; I had to follow up later to have it recognized. The elevators were unreliable, working only intermittently. Overall, this property falls short of the expectations and it’s certainly not on par with a 5-star standard.

The staff was very professional and helpful. The breakfast buffet had to be one of the best we have ever had. I would want to point out the front desk staff, especially Rebecca, were incredibly helpful and patient with addressing our needs.

Everything was great. Abel at reception is simply the best. Thanks all.

A most memorable stay with staff being the friendliest and mist helpful we have ever experienced. My brother in law celebrated his birthday in Lisbon and by just a mention of this they had a surprise for him done in such a smart way. We cannot praise them enough. They were just fantastic!!! Excellent hotel with excellent staff. Metro really close which opens up the entire city great restaurants and bars within walking distance.

This place is excellent—I absolutely love it. It’s quiet and conveniently located just 10 minutes from the airport. The staff are great, and the breakfast is amazing with a wide variety of options. Plus, it’s only a seven-minute walk to the Vasco da Gama shopping mall. Fantastic location overall. Highly recommended.

Great location for pre flight night en route home after taking the train from Faro. Was able to walk from the train station and in the AM a 8 euro/10 minute Uber to the airport. Staff is extremely attentive, VIP treatment all the way. Location has a lot of dinner options within walking. Felt very safe walking solo. Along the water was very pretty.

This was the first time we were traveling to Portugal and we decided to stay at Eurostars Universal Lisboa due to cleanliness and location. The hotel was near a train station and a fairly large shopping mall. It wasn't as close to the downtown area or the major tourist sites but the big aquarium is also nearby. It was about 10 min car ride to downtown so not a big deal and it meant we were away from major crowds or noise. The room was clean and well lit due to the large windows. The shower was bright and large with a rain shower which was amazing. I do wish the room had was more desk space and a dedicated area for the suite case rather than a narrow closet suite case stool. If you're traveling with more than a carry-on for two people, it will feel a little cramped. The large windows were nice but not super well sound-proofed given we could hear cars driving by and any loud people/vehicles really clearly. The rooftop pool bar area was really nice, but the pool is pretty small so don't expect to do more than a nice float. There is a fitness facility as well. The staff were very friendly and nice. The front desk staff were very lovely and the cleaning crew were also very lovely. We had some confusion when the bar staff told us that the restaurant opened at 7:30PM for dinner but there was an event booked so when we arrived at 7:30PM, we were told we couldn't eat there. I would recommend this hotel for weekend travellers who don't mind not being in downtown.

Great property. Exceeded our expectations. Clean, modern and a very friendly staff. In a more modern part of the city, but still nice area. Close to Lisbon Metro and the airport.

The hotel is not far from the airport, Uber cost about 7-8 euro. The room is a good size, and the bathroom is nicely design and a good size too. A short distance will bring you to a restaurant row by the water. We had a good meal there.

Beautiful hotel! Staff was amazing! Breakfast was amazing!

The staff was very accommodating, room was nice size and clean And was close enough for shopping and restaurants. The one downside was bar drinks and restaurant was way overpriced priced. Maybe explains why there were only 2 other people eating. It also didn’t open until 7:30PM. Which may be the norm in Portugal but not in US. The breakfast buffet was great! Well worth the price!

Nice hotel with an awesome rooftop terrace with pool. Breakfast is not as good as you would expect from a 5 star hotel, also the quality of drinks at the bar (they don’t even have crushed ice). But that’s something which can be solved quite easily.

Service was impeccable, staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and your breakfast was amazing. The person welcoming the people for the breakfast was professional and very accomodating. All staff were wonderful and the room was comfortable.

This hotel had the best breakfast buffet I have ever seen in my life! Everything was so high quality and they had everything from eggs and sausages to the cheese board, fruits, yogurts, and a huge selection of pastries of course. I will come back here just for the breakfast
