We had originally booked this property because of the rooftop pool. Our room was located on the 5th floor, and the pool is located on the 6th floor. Due to the loud noises/music of the bar upstairs going until 2am, we hardly got any sleep throughout our entire stay. The rooftop itself is beautiful! We tried to access the pool on Saturday, when we found out it was reserved for a private party. The party was from 2pm-8pm. From that time, we were unable to utilize the bar/pool. We paid a lot for the hotel because of the pool and weren't able to use it for one of the days. We had no idea about the private party until an hour before when they had put signs in the elevator. We asked for a partial refund for not being able to use the utilities as listed, and we received a very very small reimbursement. The bartenders were not friendly and were extremely slow for service. I understand that service slows up when it's busy. But the bartenders were talking and texting in a corner, while multiple people were waiting on drinks at the bar. The bar downstairs was just as slow as the bar upstairs. Overall, the rooms were spacious and clean. The bathrooms have no vent, and you can see into the shower from the bedroom. The lack of communication, loud music, and lack of service is why I'm displeased with our stay. Overpriced hotel.

Decent food options around the hotel- enjoyed the snacks and drinks at the pool bar. Gym is an interesting “situation” in a shared space in an adjacent converted warehouse. Apparently a lot of cowboys workout there… I’d believe it from the intimidating workout groups there… I just wanted to elliptical! Echoey room and could hear a lot of noise from the room above. Clean with cute fixtures though

We recently booked two rooms for two nights with the intention of enjoying the rooftop pool and lounge during our stay. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed to find that the pool was closed from 3 to 8 PM due to a private event. This significantly impacted our experience, as access to the rooftop area was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. When we brought this issue to the attention of the manager, the only compensation offered was four drink tickets. Frankly, this gesture felt inadequate given that paying guests were denied access to a major amenity during prime hours. It's disappointing that the hotel prioritized a private party over the comfort and experience of its overnight guests. We hope the management will reconsider how such events are handled in the future and provide more appropriate communication and compensation when amenities are restricted

Love the uniqueness of this boutique-style hotel. The roof-top pool and bar-lounge area is an absolute plus! With breathtaking views and DJ on site on some days its awesome. Staff super friendly and shuttle to the Convention center was soooo convenient. Would recommend this Hotel all the way.

Bad things would be the parking situation. The hotel shares a parking lot with a bar and grill next door. When we got back to the hotel from a concert there was no parking available and we were forced to pay for valet. Which most downtown hotels you have to pay for parking but it should be advertised that way. Other then that, the hotel is super cool. Has a cool and laid back style. The rooftop bar and food was good and the bartender up there was great. And the view is unbelievable. Staff is super friendly.

We called a week ahead before scheduling to make sure teenagers were allowed at the pool and they said yes., then when we wake up the day to leave, they said they booked a dj and anyone under 21 had to leave the pool at 4pm!!!!! Too last minute to find another arrangement so it was very disappointing. Drove 2 hours to get there and swim for 2 hours and then just hangout till fireworks started and watched them from the window in our room.

More of a party spot. Parking lot extremely small , walls are extremely thin. They let other people come and use the rooftop which is cool or whatever but if your parking lot is already small & I paid to stay here I expect to have somewhere to park. Only one elevator worked so we had to wait 15 minutes for an elevator to get to our rooms cause people were going to the rooftop. Nice place but get it together please.

Rooms were very spacious & clean! Hotel had room service for cleaning everyday in full. Very nice restaurant downstairs & the best rooftop views in Dallas for the downtown skyline. Great distance to many city attractions. Self parking is allowed & it’s free!

A beautiful decorated hotel with rooftop pool and bar overlooking the Dallas downtown skyline. The rooms are very spacious and clean. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the restaurant in the lobby and played a game of pool one of the nights. Will stay here again on our future Dallas trip.

Was charged more on site than reserved for. Even showed my invoice on phone to compare, he just brushed me off and made excuses. I finally gave up. Had stayed here before, still love the property but was a lil disappointed when on the rooftop the space around the edge was littered and dirty. And some of the outside chair cushions really needed replacing.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable but hotel is showing signs of wear and is a bit tired in communal areas. The TV had a blue tint to the screen and the hotel know it is an issue and havent done anything about it (had same issue last visit). The room also had the sound of constant running water throughout our stay coming from the toilet area but was not from our room. The rooftop bar is fun and the staff generally helpful.

Lot's of hard surfaces so hotel was noisier than usual. Could hear things from hall and other rooms. Right by noisy streets so traffic was easily heard. Staff was friendly and room was clean, and comfy. Shower was a bit too slippery for my liking with no grab bars. Not a bad property, just not where I usually stay.

Loved the hotel. Fantastic rooms but as other reviews have mentioned there is a lot of noise because of the way the rooms are made. Concrete floors and high ceilings. You do hear almost everything. We were lucky and had a quiet stay for the 3 nights we were there. Infinity pool is small and only 3ft deep but the view is amazing. Don’t forget to buy a daiquiri pool side. Mucho booze in them. :). Would definitely stay again.

This is a great refurbished old building. The rooms are quite spacious and comfortable. Great views of downtown in the rooms on the north side. The pool on the top floor is also a great place for a cocktail and views of the city. Staff was great and we were very satisfied with the food service.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel. My experience was disrupted from the very beginning when an alarm went off at 6:00 AM, forcing all guests to evacuate. To make matters worse, I had to take five flights of stairs—no assistance or clear direction from staff, and no communication afterward explaining what happened. Just as I was trying to catch up on sleep, the housekeeper knocked on my door at 8:20 AM, waking me up again—even though check-out isn't until 12 PM. Being disturbed so early when I should’ve had a few more hours to rest was frustrating and completely unacceptable. I expected a peaceful stay and instead dealt with unnecessary stress and interruptions. Sadly, I won’t be returning and can’t recommend this hotel based on my experience.

The property itself is very nice and modern. Kind of posh. The service is in restaurant and roof top bar is really bad. Sat at the downstairs bar after a show, bartender was super nice and made great drinks. Went upstairs to the rooftop bar and neither bartender knew what they were doing. Ordered the same drinks we did downstairs and they were made completely different despite them being signature cocktails. Smoked old fashioned was not smoked and just tasted like a double shot of whiskey with an orange peel in it. My fiance ordered a Kentucky mule. What she was given didn't have a single mule ingredient in it except whisky. I know this because i watched the guy make it. It tasted like a margarita with whiskey in it. The hotel itself was great. Id suggest going somewhere else for food and don't drink upstairs unless you just want beer or white claw.

Friendly and courteous staff always ready to assist. We were thankful for the shuttle and used it a couple of times. Enjoyed the rooftop bar and pool with a gorgeous view of downtown. Rooms were clean and loved. The the vibe and decor.

Staff didn’t anticipate things a visitor may need to know. Expected me to know a lot of things about parking and the property. Gave poor directions about parking and how to get there. Very loud music in the check-in area. Difficult for a 65-year-old man with a little bit of a hearing problem. Even when I did ask them to speak up, it wasn’t clear what they were trying to explain to me. I’m a well educated physician, but it just doesn’t seem that they were trained to tell the visitor all the things they needed to know about their place and how to get around in it. I don’t plan on going back.

We needed a cozy, comfortable spot to decompress between the visitation day and day of my father-in-law’s funeral. The Canvas really delivered. The room was warm when we walked in which was welcoming due to the cold weather. Check-in was quick and easy & they explained everything to us. The bartender/waiter was fabulous. He took great care of us and even brought me a small heater when I got cold. He allowed us to move from the restaurant to the bar/lobby and checked on us frequently. We never had to worry about anything. The chef came out to check on us as well. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the room as well and the bed & pillows were comfortable. The drainage in the pipes from the floor above us surprised me, but you could only hear it in the bathroom. The rooms are kind of loft style so exposed pipes means you hear them. It wasn’t bad, I just didn’t expect it. We look forward to coming in the summer to enjoy the rooftop pool, fire pit, and bar!

It is near convention center which I needed but unfortunately it is also near a lot of the support services for the unsheltered so it was not recommended to walk around at night. Hotel was secure and well attended. Very clean and the staff was accomodating. It has access to nice gym/personal training studio.

The place itself was nice. The area not so much. Most importantly I blame Expedia because you had this designated as a Downtown hotel- this was not downtown. It was a mile or so from downtown and the walk there was through a rough neighborhood.

Not in downtown...that is why we chose it. Loved viewing downtown from the roof. Chic, fun vibe. Staff were friendly and helpful. Love that it was dog friendly. Long walk to the downtown wasn't my fave, but overall doable.

Very nice hotel with big rooms, location is actually very central, free-parking is great although the lot gets a little crowded occasionally sharing with the restaurant/nightclub next-door but it was never too bad, there is more metered parking up the street where you can park overnight if need be. Friendly staff, restaurant is great and the rooftop is nice

Loved the view at this hotel! Just outside of the downtown area so location was great. It was raining during my visit so couldn't take advantage of the amazing rooftop patio but still got great views from the inside! Would stay again!

Absolutely loved my stay here. My only suggestion is that room service should not have taken 50 minutes. The server apologized for the wait and I the food was very good. Could have been a bit warmer, but besides that, loved it!

This is my second time staying at the Canvas and it did not disappoint. From the stylish rooms, to the attentive and welcoming service.... everything about this unique and beautiful property exceeds expectations. The food is shockingly delicious, and the drinks are made with care and precision. Such a breath of fresh air in a sea of Dallas's generic hotel offerings.

The property itself was nice, clean. The pool was disappointing because they had adult pool party and it was not appropriate for children. They allowed outsiders who were disruptive in the pool area, playing their music when music was already playing. The bartenders were more worried about their cell phones in front of their eyes than kicking people out. A couple was verbally arguing and no staff said anything to them. They weren't even guest. It's not a family friendly hotel. The Hotel restaurant was very good, front desk was kind and professional. Nice trendy atmosphere.

Everything great except we were seated at restaurant 6:30 Friday night and no one came back to wait on us. No one. We got up and walked cross the street to eat chicken and waffles.
