Gite au Vieux Pommier

We received a warm welcome even though we arrived quite late in the evening. The next morning we were given a second welcome, with info about good places to eat and local amenities. The gite is very clean and the owners and staff are welcoming. The gite is close to the tourist area and features a second floor balcony so we could sit and "people watch" or read our books or have a drink and snacks. There is a lot of parking, hot water and the common areas are large. The hosts have thoughtfully provided useful items like plates, bowls, cups, kettle, etc. for guests' use. This is a great place to stay, but I would not recommend it for people with small children... there are too many fun decorations. Also, for older people, there are stairs and many area rugs.

Pictures are somewhat deceptive - the buildings they show as visible from there, are not. Artisanal and somewhat eccentric furnishings, but some things are not maintained well - eg bathroom window that was half hanging loose and wouldn’t close. Slightly annoying that they insist on only eating at the main common room dining table, but provide nothing there except a fridge, water and kettle. If all this is okay with you, I would recommend it, but research other places nearby as there are many.

My girlfriend and I stayed here in late May. Since it was during the 'down season' the owner graciously upgraded us for free to her fancier hotel, right down the street. The owner was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding areas. Beautiful views from the back balcony as well as inside the eating area. The room and bathroom were very clean, easy parking in the back, and the breakfast offered was top notch. We couldn't have been more happy with our stay. I would highly recommend staying here and we will stay here again when we return in the future.

Nobody was there when we arrived. There was a note on the door to call someone and a nice lady finally arrived. The matress was not comfortable, it is nota B&B. You can't even make yourself a cup of coffee. There is towels in the room but none in the share bathroom to use.

Very comfortable stay for my 11 year old son and I. The other guests were quiet and respectful. Comfy bed, great location. Good value. However would not recommend for those with mobility issues. Older buildings with steps and some uneven surfaces, slippery shower etc.

The owner was incredibly nice and made us feel very welcome. The place was nice, clean and cozy and in a perfect location to explore Tadoussac. Be aware that some rooms have a shared bathroom. We didn’t notice while booking, so that was a bit of a surprise upon arrival, but for one night it was ok. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Thank you!

Très bon accueil, propre, chambre agréable ainsi que la pièce de vie. Et très bien situé avec place de parking.

Hote tres accueillainte et hyper arrangeante. Nous etions arrives un peu en retard et sans avoir pu appele fute de reseau sur la route des fjords.Et celle-ci nous a tout de même fais un petit speech de presentation et astuces/recommendations pour la ville de Tadoussac. Si vous faites une croisiere le matin nous avions pus laisser le vehicule au logement, ce qui etait tres pratique ! Le gite est bien situé(10-15 min a pied des croisieres)

We stayed 1 night, quick to check in, always available if needed. I forgot my iPhone charger, and the host lend me one, really appreciate this gesture! Bedroom and bathroom were clean. Just 3 minutes of walk of the restaurant and view on saint Laurent.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par les hôtes ! L'endroit est très propre et la chambre très jolie ! Nous avons pu nous installer dans le salon pour y passer la soirée et un petit déjeuner copieux nous a été proposé à 5’ à pied.

La chambre et le gîte étaient très propres et conforme à la description. Les personnes y travaillant ont toutes été très sympathiques.

Les portes sont difficiles à ouvrir et fermer, du coup c'est bruyant. Sinon bon accueil et bonne ambiance

Such a beautiful home right in the centre of the town. The owners were very kind and accommodating and Miriam was a delight. The rooms were homely and comfortable and I would happily return again and again.

I was disappointed by this inn. When I booked it was not clear that my room had to share a bathroom with another room. The room was very small, not much bigger than the double bed. The doors to both the room and the bathroom did not close easily and the walls shook when opening and closing them. This made for a very noisy stay as anytime a guest opened or closed a door it was loud. The shower in the bathroom was small and poorly designed.

The bed was way to soft and in the morning we were leaving, the cleaning lady entered our room without notice while we were still there. The hostress told us we had until 11ham and to leave the keys in the door to let the cleaner know we were gone. It was around 10ham and we still were in the room, door closed. Really not professional.

Nous avions réservé le gite du vieux pommier mais avons finalement été logés dans un autre hotel qui avait beaucoup moins de charme. Même si c'était la fin de la saison et que la dame etait charmante, il aurait été plus courtois de prévenir avant plutot que de nous mettre devant le fait accompli concernant ce changement d'hôtel

Réservation faite au Gîte cependant les membres du personnel nous ont déplacé à l'auberge maison Gagné ( qui leur appartient aussi ) après avoir réalisé que ma chambre réservée ne convenait pas au besoin de mon voyage ! Il se sont donc mis en 4 à 24h de la réservation pour pouvoir m'offrir une chambre même si c'était mon erreur d'avoir choisis la mauvaise chambre lors de ma réservation ! Alors je leur laisse ici une bonne note pas sur le Gîte en soit puisque je n'y est pas résider mais sur le personnels qui sont vraiment très gentils et très accommodant !!! Une super équipe !! MERCI !!

Gite au Vieux Pommier was the perfect place from which to explore the beautiful town of Tadoussac. The gracious hosts made us feel welcome in the shared living spaces and the updated rooms offered every amenity we could have hoped for. The hotel is conveniently located and allowed us to easily walk to the harbour front, Hotel Tadoussac and the Marine Mammal Interpretation Centre. If you are thinking about visiting Tadoussac, I highly recommend Gite Au Vieux Pommier, as you certainly will not be disappointed.

Great location which made it very walkable to restaurants and activities. The host Ella is tremendous and gracious.

I booked this after trusting the comments on the platform. This place is clearly having management issues and they are struggling to make ends meet. First you need to phone a local number (not all tourists have local plans) to have someone come to check you in. After a long drive the last thing you need is wait for 15min for someone to arrive. Apparently they are overwhelmed with work… Second, even if there is no breakfast, coffee would be nice. There is only some really vile cheap tea. What kind of place calls themselves « Café Couette » (Bed and Breakfast) and offers no coffee? We had booked two rooms with river view. The owner said he would find us two rooms together and let us have a bathroom just for us (albeit outside) for an extra $20 per night. I wanted to check that the two new rooms would still have a river view - he never replied. We were indeed given two rooms next to each other - one with a « river view » which was more like a street view and another wi the garden view. The « private bathroom «  was being used by other guests too. When told, the owner said I had to remind the guests who were aware. It is not my job to do this. The owner and his wife kept asking us for the extra $20 from the minute we arrived. Very disagreeable. They had downgraded us! The place is clean but is really basic. Tadoussac is expensive so this place appears like a steal. For the price of 2 rooms here we had a two bedroom apartment with copious breakfast in the centre of Montreal!

Such a beautiful home right in the centre of the town. The owners were very kind and accommodating and Miriam was a delight. The rooms were homely and comfortable and I would happily return again and again.

The property is well maintained and in great location. The owner is very warm hearted.

Nous avons été très bien reçus , ambiance familiale, très propre. Nous avons prit l'excursion aux baleines chez eux . Et que dire du petit déjeuner qui était au dessus de nos espèrances. Vraiment je n'hésiterait pas à conseiller ce gîte. Vous adorerez la propriétaire qui fait tout pour vous satisfaire.

On a été surpris par la chambre vraiment pas grande. Le lit était très mou. On a quand même bien dormis. Auncune serviette à main dans la salle de bain. Le déjeuner n'est pas inclus. $15 à un autre endroit par le même propriétaire. Aucun café sur place. Endroit chaleureux, belle décoration, bon accueil et explications du propriétaire. Madame très avenante.

Not actually a bed and breakfast - no breakfast included or on site. The description at time of booking said breakfast was included, which was our main reason for booking this over others. It is actually a paid breakfast ($~50) at a location a short drive away. That said, the host was lovely and the space was very clean and central to Tadoussac. Just needs an updated description!

Hébergement très bien situé. Très propre. L'intérieur du bâtiment est très beau. Pour profiter de l'option du déjeuner, il faut se rendre en voiture à un autre gîte.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön. Wir hatten die Deluce Suite mit eigenem Bad. Es war alles renoviert.Die Lage ist sehr gut,ganz nahe am Zentrum. Ausserdem bietet die Vermieterin in ihrem 2.Haus ein schönes Frühstück an fur 15 CAF.War sehr lecket und praktisch,da man nichts suchen musste
