Awesome location, comfy beds, nice shower. The weather didn't allow us to enjoy the pool area but it looked clean and fun if we get back down to that area. The staff were always helpful! It was a good place for the cost, since it can be expensive to find reasonably accommodations in the area and we just wanted a comfortable place to sleep.

It is not in Sarasota! It is about a 25 minute drive to Sarasota. However, the prices are much more reasonable than in Sarasota. It was relatively convenient for the local. Parking was a problem.

I want to start on a positive note with the Manager,Cindy, and her husband David were so nice and helpful? The bad part, is this place is disgusting! We had to shower with our shoes on, the couch was not a couch, it was a love seat that was stained. The TV didn’t work and the place was extremely small and outdated by 50 years! The pool was gross (nobody swam it the whole 10 days we stayed there). The furniture around the pool was all broken and rusted. We will NEVER be staying here again. The worst part about it all was , we were in the “Suite”. I can’t imagine what the other rooms were like!!

The property was nasty. The pool was shut down so to health department. People were swimming in poor anyways with pit bull dog in the pool. People live in these rooms and have dogs which bark all day and night. Parking sucks not enough. Towels were far and few. If I was Expedia I'd take this place off your website!!!! Dont stay here run and run fast

Parking was terrible. Place was poorly maintained. TV was useless… couldn’t get reception. Bathroom was size of closet. Place looked like a junkyard. I’ve been in worse, but that was a third world country.

Booked a suite paid for a suite got there and it was no suite. Instead it was a basic room with 2 double beds. No kitchen and no separate sleeping area. The owner refunded me one night back and told me i could stay the entire weekend but we decided to leave the next day because it was sketchy. there were alot of weird drunk people who actually live there. It is no retreat this is a roadside motel. Dirty, smelly, uncomfortable beds, roaches,mold on the shower curtain, stained towels. I wouldnt stay here for free thats how bad it was. Definitely not what was shown in the pictures. I really should of got all my money back but it is what it is i wont book with hotels.com again. I got cat fished lmao the pool was ok it was actually the only good thing about the property.

Considering the last-minute nature of this and the cool overnight temps, I stayed. The "suite" just meant more beat-up furnishings to enjoy. Parking is a nightmare. Somewhat of a residential place and far from a resort, unless it qualified during the Nixon administration.

There was extremely limited parking, the sign was not lit-slightly difficult to find in the dark, and not the best surrounding area.

This property was uninhabitable. Filthy, bug infested, gross.

We have stayed here several times. We know the Inn is older however we have never been given a room that was so filthy. The whole room needs a Mr. Clean sponge taken to it to get the dirt off the walls, cabinets, appliances etc. the cabinets had dirt and dead bugs laying in it. It has not been wiped out in a very long time. Our room was considered a suite, I will be including pictures of the filthy dish wear. The skillet had caked on grease and other things. I would not even touch it. There was one utensil tossed into a dirty plastic bowl. I went to Wawa’s to get a cup and plastic ware. Too scared to touch anything in the cabinet. The bathroom door would not close and was in poor shape. I checked the bed to make sure there were no bugs. The bed was comfortable enough. The sofa was nice but it had sand on it, made for a gritty sit. Upon check out I asked the manager to look at the room. She said Oh, those are just gnats. I said the shelf has a layer of dirt and dead bugs. This has not been cleaned in a long time. Then I showed her the cookware. She said Those are not even ours. I’ll need to find out where those came from. I showed her the bathroom door. She said there must be a little moisture. I showed her all the dirt on the walls. She said there was someone other than her doing the cleaning. Not even an I’m sorry the room is filthy. Why didn’t we leave? Christmas Eve and no where else to go.

Looks nothing like pictures, name isn’t the same it’s called Nokomis Inn & Suites,there was roaches and big termites flying in the room, furniture (table,bed,lil dresser) falling apart, window ac unit not central ac, one window did not close all the way or lock, floors were dirty, small fridge didn’t get cold had to use cooler with ice.

Very old and bad maintained rooms, quite dirty, all kitchen stuff was sticky and dirty, you don't get anything to clean it, bedsheets are quite old and not very well clean, mattress is old and not in great shape, quite a lot of noise from the main road and shower is not very good. Staff is friendly, that's only positive I could say

The lady who checked us in was nice but the process was strange. Didn’t confirm anything until after letting us into the room and telling us the door code. There’s cigarette butts everywhere, a random ladder, hoses, and a random screwdriver in front of our door. We checked the beds and they seemed safe. There were bugs everywhere though. The comforters and bedsheets smelled like mildew and stale cigarettes. Thankfully we only booked for one night, I wouldn’t stay here again.

This place is a dump and no where near what the pictures show. The room we booked was unavailable so given another where there was blood on curtains and sheets as well as sheets. There was some kind of rodent feces on sheets. This place is disgusting. We left after talking to management who said we would get refund and never did. We are out over $500 for this booking and had to spend another $700 on other rooms. I don’t do reviews but after this treatment I had to, to try and save others the same inhospitable treatment we got. Shame on you for treating people this way and I hope I can can at least one person from making the mistake of coming to this property. Do not prepay your booking site, come have a look first, then turn and run. Hotels that will cost you 250 to 300 per night will be worth it.

This property was horrible. Rented 2 rooms left in under 30min because of roach infestation. Said they would refund my money and never responded again. For 2 night I’m out over $500. One room in under 10 min they had roaches crawling on their bags, dog kennel and other misc places in the room. Run from this dump!!!!

My top sheet was a different color than my fitted sheet , never have had that experience at a hotel. Pillow cases didn’t match sheets either . The whites were dingy . Floors felt tacky , laminate planks . Hair ball (not ours) in shower. Booked queen bed with sofa too , ended up in double bed room and no sofa. Blinds didn’t close all the way, felt that people could see in if wanted to, lack of privacy.

Pictures are definitely what you'll find. Grounds run down. Room in need of repairs, bathroom smelled and was not clean. Left early after one night and unable to contact property owners for refund. Not recommended.

We ended up not staying more than a few minutes here while we looked for other accommodations. The place was absolutely disgusting! The photos advertised are nothing like how it is in real life. I wish my pictures showed the amount of residue on the floor and the smell.

Booked a two room executive suite. Found out when we arrived that it had no a/c and wasn't available.

Our room was clean but that's about the only good thing. Mattress was really broken down and should have been trashed years ago. Corner seam on the fitted sheet was completely torn and flat sheet was torn across the top. Material seemed to be rotten. Top of fridge was rusted. There were no cups to use to rinse when brushing teeth. Bath mat was an old thread bare towell. I have rags in better shape. AC made strange noises. There was no stopper in the sink. Everything was run down. Didn't use the pool but it looked good.

This hotel has nothing to offer. There is a microwave, fridge, and a safe. Not even one cup for water or anything else. Very noisy, right next to the road. No desk to put your laptop on and I couldn't get hooked up to Wifi. Never again.!!

My reservation cost me a pullout bed which I reserved and neighbors were really loud early in the morning. Parking was an issue. The receptionist was friendly and nice.

Ok, so the photos on Expedia are so pretty. But, they are not exactly what you will find. Some rooms have had some form of renovation, but I’m thinking not all. Our room was #120, right next to the Property Manager’s (Cindy), so we felt immediately safer for some reason. This small 70s-era motel has some long-term renters from what I understand, and some short-term. We pulled in on a Friday to set up for an art festival in Venice. The room smelled clean, looked clean and we were comfortable enough. We left to grab a bite to eat and find a WalMart for pillows (the ones on the queen bed —supposed to be a king-were pretty flat) and when we pulled back in, there was a woman, obviously quite inebriated wandering around trying to find her room, and another man just walked into ours as we were unloading luggage. Everyone’s entitled to a good time, so we just went with the flow. It wasn’t noisy, deadbolt on the door and a coded number entry. The bed was pretty uncomfortable, but not terrible. We never got to enjoy it during the day because this was a working stay, but there is a large tiki-picnic bench area, a large pool and typical parking horizontal in front of your room. We drive a Transit, so Cindy made accommodations for our large vehicle, but parking is very limited. There are amenities in the room, but I advise bringing your own. Towels don’t match and they are pretty worn, however, they are clean. I wouldn’t give it a terrible rating, but if you are expecting Hampton Inn…

GPS was not correct for this address. The front desk had to give me directions over the phone. I had a difficult time finding the motel’s location because it was pouring rain. I only stayed here one night. In the middle of the 2025 Deep Freeze, my room did not have any heat. I don’t mean that it wasn’t working - they did not have any heat. There was no hair dryer and I didn’t want to come out of the bathroom with wet hair because it was too cold. The next night was even colder so I got another room at a Holiday Inn. This motel was a bust for me. There wasn’t even a place to get a cup of coffee on site. The front desk was very kind, even though I had to go through the owner to get to her. Don’t stay here in cold weather. It’s probable okay in the spring and summer.

Very courteous staff. We got a free room upgrade. The room was clean and orderly. Lots of restaurants in the area and very close to the beach. Great experience.

We arrived at 630 pm yesterday and found out YOU overbooked! So we didn't have a room and we didn't get our money back! So please send this back to my card

The owner of this property (Cindy) is wonderful and was so kind, caring and generous during my entire stay. She allowed me to check out later so I wouldn’t have to go sit at the airport for the entire day. The sincerity went a long way!

Most gracious and helpful staff. The AC unit in the room we booked was not operating optimally and they moved us to an upgraded room for no cost without even having to ask. Perfect old Florida motel experience. Not everyone's cup of tea, but perfectly met our needs.

Trying calling to let them know we would be arriving after 6pm for check in and no one answered left message with no response. Tried calling again later and again no answer and this time unable to leave a message. Got to hotel and stopped by a lady in the driveway that asked us our name and informed us she had no room for us that they were over booked. I asked why she didn’t call me back to let us know this, she informed us that the office number goes to the owner which never answers the phone or returns calls! She said so nothing I can do good luck finding a place as it’s spring break. We have stayed here several times before but under a different management and had no issues. I still have not heard back from hotels.com regarding my refund. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel

Drove 11 hours and at 12 in the morning we were told there were no rooms because they over booked. This is after contacting them twice on the way down and were told there was no problem running late. Half hour before we got there we contacted them again and was told room was ready.

The property manager on staff was excellent and accomadating---we had reserved 3 rooms with everyone coming at different times. It was quiet and clean (inside and outside). It was close to the beach, which is why we chose this place. Would stay again.

The staff was drinking in the parking lot at arrival. The rooms were so dirty that we couldn’t even stay there. We ended up leaving and unfortunately they would not refund either.

I arrived at the property for my two night stay that I had prepaid for and was told that they were overbooked. While glancing at the sheet of paper it looked as though there were 4 other people not getting a room. Emails and phone calls to the property go unanswered and 14 days later I’m still trying to get my money back. Can’t say what the rooms are like because I didn’t get one that I had reserved, but the property in general looked pretty run down. Don’t book here!

Never again will I ever book with this place. After the run around for DAYS I finally got ahold of David and he said my reservation was good to go! Well here it is the day of the trip- we’re in Georgia ! 11 hours away from home some lady calls and says oh we don’t have room for you. Don’t stay at this dump. David even sent me screenshots to my phone of the reservation confirmation on their computer!!! When we got there we rode through the parking lot after checking into a new hotel I’m so glad we didn’t stay in this dump. Photos are not of actual site !

Clean, funky property in convenient location.

My Sarasota Getaway is a great value! We had a nice place to stay close to the beach for an amazing price!

Don’t go. Property address is wrong. Local business didn’t know it. No working phone number. When you do find it through past Expedia reviews it’s actually the Nokomo Inn. No lights on property except one bulb by a door in what appears an abandoned motel. Didn’t look safe. Couldn’t get our money back as they offer no refunds.

I only stayed here one night. In the middle of the 2025 Deep Freeze, my room did not have any heat. I don’t mean that it wasn’t working - they did not have any heat. There was no hair dryer and I didn’t want to come out of the bathroom with wet hair because it was too cold. The next night was even colder so I got another room at a Holiday Inn. This motel was a bust for me. There wasn’t even a place to get a cup of coffee on site. The front desk was very kind, even though I had to go through the owner to get to her. Don’t stay here in cold weather. It’s probable okay in the spring and summer.

Let me start by saying that the owner, Cindy, was very sweet and helpful. But, this property is not what's advertised. Every website I visited has the property listed as My Sarasota Getaway. When you get there, the sign says Nokomis Inn and Suites. I reserved the Executive Suite, and when I arrived, the owner said it was already reserved for a month. She gave me a smaller room in a section of the property that had several seemingly long-term residents. They had old lounge chairs, tables, dishes and ash trays outside their rooms, and the residents spent most of the day and all night hanging out by their doors, shouting down the corridor at one another and letting dogs bark. The view from the room was an old dirt lot. There are very few parking spots on the property. The website boasts a cozy lobby, and an onsite deli. When you arrive, you're greeted by a locked door telling you to call the owner. She answered right away, and got us to our room, but she said they didn't actually have a lobby. She also told us that they intended to have food, but never got a food license. The rooms are cute and clean, but kind of run down. The pool itself was nice, but the photos show hammocks around the pool area, which weren't there. The location of the property is great. Very close to the beach, minutes away from downtown Venice, and walking distance to fast food and convenience stores. Although this property is quite affordable, it's disappointing not to get what you sign up for.

I was disapointed to see a place that could be precious with so many deficiencies. I love that is so close to the beautiful Nokomis Beach and with so many convenient business around. Details like professional cleaning is needed. Special atention to the door closing system, the electric outlets, the tv cables, the couch and microwave were useless due to poor cleaning, the floor in general was dirty in the room, I felt like the pictures shown in the advertising is from a time when it was clean and well maintened. There are many small not costly imrovements they can do that would mean a lot and will make them a great place.

We have stayed in this motel several times in the past 30 years. No problems. This visit was awful: unclean, curtain rods falling, smoke alarm batteries missing, uncovered outlets, other outlet won’t hold plug, bathroom exhaust fan not working, no place to hang clothes, no coffee or cups, no door mat (we purchased one). Obvious long-time residents with many dogs, motorcycle on walk, car with no plates. Received toilet paper, styrofoam cups, towels in garbage bag on outside door handle. Beds were comfortable and air worked.
