Penultimate luxury and decadence, you will want for nothing at the Leela palace, exceptional service from Rose the house keeping assistant to all the staff at reception and at spectre restaurant, the gym and spa staff were welcoming and helpful and Ajit is the best concierge a guest can ask for. I was surprised and delighted in all the best ways. If you stay here you will not regret it! The facilities are second to none. the pool is stunning and the pool staff are exceptionally helpful, the gym is fully stocked and the spa is so relaxing. The food is varied and very tasty i enjoyed the biryani and kebab festival! If you can, book this place it’s the best in chennai!

Enjoyed the stay. We upgraded to suites and got access to royal club. The service at royal club was lacking a bit, but when we raised the concern they acknowledged it and gave us complimentary snacks at the club. The room and view was amazing. The pool was well maintained. And the complimentary sumptuous breakfast <3

We had the Deluxe Room on the 8th floor and were upgraded to a Sea View from the balcony and a pool view from the other large window. The room was larger than the 650 sqft advertised! The bathroom was spectacular with the toilet enclosed by a door from the rest of the bathroom. The pool was also spectacular since it's a 35m infinity pool. One fellow swimmer told me that he's a Chennai resident who has a membership to the pool since Leela's pool is one of the best in all Chennai! The breakfast buffet is quite good and was included in my stay. I had dinner at China XO and enjoyed the vegetarian stir fry.

Fabulous place to stay in Chennai. Nice pool and gym. Buffet meals very good but only value if you are hungry. Staff very good but some delays on ordering hot drinks in the lounge. Booked taxi to airport, this was an excellent service for those unused to India.

Great hotel with very amply fitted rooms. Everything was maintained to a high standard and very clean. Staff were always welcoming, especially the pool side staff who introduced themselves by name and were very attentive. Local friends were able to use the valet parking free of charge and there was never a long wait to get their cars back. The property isn’t actually beachfront as the photoshopped image suggests but I wouldn’t recommend going to the local beach anyway. The gym was one of the best I have seen in any hotel in more than 30 countries. Breakfast buffet which I thankfully paid for in advance so it was half the price was good. Not spectacular but being able to trust the food hygiene at breakfast was very reassuring. I had a great stay and would happily go back. Definitely where you should be staying while in Chennai.

We usually stay at the Taj however this time we decided to give Leela a try and trust me it went way above our expectations ! We were floored by the grand palacious decor of the hotel with beautiful chandeliers , the hospitality warmth and personalised attention by all the staffs be it at the reception while check in , at the pool or at the the restaurants . The room ( club rooms ) was spacious and fantastic with superb decor and bed linen . The view of the sea was breath taking . The bathrooms were fantastic with excellent view of the sea again and excellent toiletries. The happy hours at the club lounge was an experience by itself . Excellent hot small eats , quality mocktails and liquor . The pool was a notch above . Every part of the hotel had beautiful paintings . Nothing less than a palace ! Thank you Team Leela for giving us a memorable experience

Lovely hotel. Service was great in particular Bibek, our floor butler and Chandra the pool manager. Food is amazing but the only thing lacking is having a bar that isn’t ridiculously starchy or expensive. We decided to wander our round the corner and had a great evening at about 5th of the price

Very comfortable and luxury stay with family. Swimming pool is very well maintained had a great time there. Also gym is nice. Breakfast and lunch had grand options and everythingh I tried was very tasty.

Leela Chennai is a phenomenal property, I stayed there 7 nights in a row and I must say that I was super impressed with try upkeep of the hotel, which is a number 1 priority for me. The fresh flower arrangements, a very humble staff, awesome breakfast buffet, the ocean views and on and on. I will like to call out Ajit from Concierge to be an amazing host and guide.

Property itself is nice, food in restaurants is good. However, housekeeping and upkeep of rooms needs work. First room I was checked in to did not look like it was cleaned. Dirty sheets, pillows and towels. The furnishings in the rooms were falling apart.

We had an excellent stay at this hotel, thanks to the outstanding service from all the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and genuine hospitality that made us feel at home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view of the ocean. However, the bathroom could use a little more attention to maintenance — for example, the shower and toilet doors could close more smoothly, and the blinds could be dusted more regularly. The highlight of our stay was without doubt the restaurant. The food selection and quality were exceptional, and the service was attentive and personal. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely return.

Beautiful hotel, I was in Chennai on business and came into the hotel wearing very dirty clothing due to my work conditions and never had any issues with staff. Always very cheery and pleasant. The food in the hotel was always very good. And rooms very spacious and clean.

A beautiful hotel with stunning decor and fabulous grounds. The room had everything required and was spotlessly clean. What makes the hotel particularly special are the staff, from reception to those in the restaurant, all were so nice, particular mention to Kumar at the pool who was so lovely and helpful.

Property I lived in a room with sea view.. Its definitely one of the best property in Chennai with best view.. Staff all perfect and keep certain standard. They allowed late checkin and kate checkout which helps us a lot.

We stayed here for 3 nights and this is probably one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed at. The staff are all friendly and helpful our room had amazing sea views and the food was exceptional. I will be looking forward to my next visit

For the price charged this hotel is amazing (when compared with international prices), with incredible amenities and style. Sadly the comfort levels are not so impressive and the bed was not the best quality and hard mattress, so sleep not so good. Park Hyatt hotel has much better beds and bedding even if it does not have such wow factor. I requested a quiet room and got it, thankfully. I was in a pool-side room which was very good. I stayed previously in a more expensive sea view room, but these rooms have the bed backing onto the wall adjoining the corridor outside so can be noisy. The bed for the pool view room is a good way inside the room, away from the corridor, so very quiet, and also a nice view. I was looking forward to the deep-soak bath, after my travels, but only on the third attempt (mid-morning time) was the water hot enough to have a comfortable soak. The spa is great as is the breakfast buffet. The pool area is nice but the full pool length, while long, is very very shallow the whole way. Very attentive staff. Given a choice I'd probably pick the Park Hyatt next time for room and bed comfort and instant hot water, but for photos and wow factor hard to beat the Leela Palace.

The property itself was beautiful with excellent decor. Love the nightly traditional live music, love that it’s near the water. Food quality was good. All staff were extremely friendly. But the service was shockingly terrible for 5 star hotel and we will never stay here again. Where do I start. - When checking in, no summary of amenities or overview of the property. Even 1 star hotel give you something like this. We had to ask bunch of questions to tease this out. - Lounge having tea - 4 of us order combo of teas and coffees, and one order is forgotten. This happened at least more than half the time. I was shocked. We would have to ask and waiter would be surprised we didn’t get it and go check on it. - it feels completely disorganized in food staff especially in order management. This was really bad. Almost an error in order we ever made. They need write things down and not go by memory. - There were LOT of staff and they were all super nice but feels bit chaotic. They frequently forget part of the order. Food took forever (not due to busyness). Chai would sometimes take 40 mins. - No events for kids. I was surprised and delighted in all the best ways. If you stay here you will not regret it! The facilities are second to none. the pool is stunning and the pool staff are exceptionally helpful, the gym is fully stocked and the spa is so relaxing. After coming from the Taj Mahal in Delhi, this was certainly a disappointment. They seem to cater to a lot of weddings that has become the priority over regular room guests. I was placed on a floor that was sold out to a wedding group, the wedding group was playing loud music the whole night, intoxicated and smoking weed which was shocking. My kids were sleeping and we were unable to sleep, the hotel wanted to us to move to another room which was we really didn’t want to do at 2am with the kids asleep but we have to give in since they party was not endings anytime soon.. I requested a call back from a manager the next day who reached out in the evening and promised to reach out via WhatsApp to provide a free dinner for the trouble. That also never happened and truthfully we were ok not having to go back to that Leela. The kids were so excited to come here to get the 5 star experience and we all left disappointed.

The Leela Palace Chennai is probably the best hotel I’ve ever been to. Not only are the facilities world class, but the effort they make to ensure their guests feel at home and special is second to none. Ajit the concierge ensured that everytime I was in the lobby, he’d personally greet me and ensure all was ok. All transport was arranged swiftly and if there was anything we needed assistance with, he was available in heart beat. Ratan, our private butler - was always there to support us and our young family’s needs and Jayesh the head chef made our experiences at the buffet all the more memorable. Put simply, they just treat their guests with the utmost respect and kindness and make them feel completely at home. I’m going to miss the Leela but can’t wait to be back

We had an excellent stay at this hotel, thanks to the outstanding service from all the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and genuine hospitality that made us feel at home. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view of the ocean. However, the bathroom could use a little more attention to maintenance — for example, the shower and toilet doors could close more smoothly, and the blinds could be dusted more regularly. Spa experience was exceptional with Dukha the therapist. She is one of the best. Anand was quite good in helping through the experience. 3. Shrima was proactive and EFFECTIVE, in helping my relocation to a different room when the hot water stopped. I had not expected to take a cold shower at the Leela. 4. Great hotel with very amply fitted rooms. Everything was maintained to a high standard and very clean. Staff were always welcoming, especially the pool side staff who introduced themselves by name and were very attentive. Local friends were able to use the valet parking free of charge and there was never a long wait to get their cars back. The property isn’t actually beachfront as the photoshopped image suggests but I wouldn’t recommend going to the local beach anyway. The gym was one of the best I have seen in any hotel in more than 30 countries. Breakfast buffet which I thankfully paid for in advance so it was half the price was good. Not spectacular but being able to trust the food hygiene at breakfast was very reassuring. I had a great stay and would happily go back. Definitely where you should be staying while in Chennai.

We only stayed for 1 night, but my wife had severe food poisoning from the food from the buffet. We only ate food and drank the water provided by the hotel at the buffet breakfast and lunch. At first, we thought it was random and not the hotel food. But it became worse as we continued having the food. It completely spoiled our stay and the affects continued for a couple of days after. The room, amenities and hospitality was very good otherwise.

Fabulous Service and Staff at the property. Stayed 10 days and had such a smooth stay with great attentiveness. My whole family loved it. The rooms were immaculate with the view of the sea. The breakfast, room service and restaurants were all exceptional. Hosted a dinner at the Spectra Restaurant and the service was amazing. All the staff were professional and prompt, making our trip very memorable. Hope to stay at the Leela Palace Hotel when I come to India again in the future.

Lovely hotel. Service was great in particular Bibek, our floor butler and Chandra the pool manager. Food is amazing but the only thing lacking is having a bar that isn’t ridiculously starchy or expensive. We decided to wander our round the corner and had a great evening at about 5th of the price

This was a beautiful stay with very quiet and serene environment. The breakfast and dinner buffets at Spectra were the highlight for us. The staff was very helpful throughout our stay.
