We arrived at this hotel and reception staff were very helpful. Convenient parking. We had a family room upstairs overlooking the pool. Very quiet and spacious room. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant. The staff were amazing. The food was beyond expectation for a country hotel. Definitely go for the chocolate dessert! very decadent.

The hotel Does Not provide guests CarPark - this is a big problem during potentially busy time during dinner service time.All people using very limited car space on street . This inconvenience could be rectified by building available space near a liquor shop. My second comment- the hotel does Not have an escalator ! Or ramp for guest to go the second floor . Carry heavy bags and luggage up to narrow stair case is not easy !!!!

Not quite what we were expecting. When we booked the room we were expecting to stay in a lovely old building with views over the bay. And, yes, we had views over the bay, but from the annex across the road from the main hotel. Quite disappointing really. We felt excluded from the hotel and did not use either the bar or the pool for that reason. Also, no laundry facilities, which was clearly advertised on the hotel.com app. Parking on the road only.

This is a hard place to rate. Older building that has been updated. It might be the best option on the island, but off the island it would be average. No elevator in building 1 so getting luggage up all the stairs is not ideal. But the staff was amazing and very helpful.

Das Hotel mit seiner historischen Fassade macht schon von Außen einen sehr interessanten Eindruck. Im Innern war es dagegen sehr modern möbliert.Es gibt ein großes Restaurant, einen ansprechenden Aufenthaltsraum und einen Barbereich. Wir wurden von der Dame an der Rezeption sehr freundlich empfangen. Unser Zimmer hatte Blick auf die Uferpromenade und das Meer. Auf dem Balkon befand sich eine Sitzgelegenheit. Das Zimmer war wohnlich eingerichtet und wirkte durch die große Fensterfront sehr hell. Es gibt einen Außenpool. Für das Abendessen ist eine Reservierung unbedingt zu empfehlen, da das Hotel auch von größeren Reisegruppen angesteuert wird. Wir waren mit dem Essen an beiden Abenden sehr zufrieden. Ganz im Gegenteil dazu das zugebuchte Frühstück: Der Kaffee war zu dünn, die Buffet-Auswahl schlecht und das Rührei kaum genießbar. Sonderwünsche nur gegen Bezahlung. Trotz dieses (gravierenden) Mangels empfehlen wir dieses Hotel. Frühstücken kann man ja auch in nahegelegenen Cafés.

One positive was the very friendly front desk staff. The room was ok, we had no hot water during the stay, the hall lights are always on and shown through the room door during the night, which was annoying. The food wasn't great either. The hotel itself seems old, the carpets well worn, etc..

The advert photo is deceiving. You think, by choice, that you are booking into a charming heritage hotel but find yourself over the road in a stereotypical motel. Very disappointing, as was the absolutely filthy deeply stained carpet and the layer of very long black hair over the bathroom floor.

The apartment required çonsiderable maintenance, and had a bad drain odour. The front door did not lock at anytime and we could only obtain one key which caused difficulties. The beds were not in the locked position and moved across the room. For the cost not very impressive

Das Zimmer war sauber. Leider etwas wenig Stauraum und Kleiderbügel. Der Gebäudeteil mit dem Reszairant ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Personal war sehr nett. Dieses hat mich darauf hingewiesen, dass eine grössere Reisegruppe zum Abendessen erwartet wird und deshalb eine rasche Bestellung von Vorteil wäre. Zum Morgenesden dieselbe Situation. Die Bestellubg meines 2. Kaffes wurde vorgezogen. Ansonsten wäre die Wartezeit 20min. gewesen. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Kommentaren, war das Abendessen sehr lecker und auch heiss.

A nice hotel on the seafront in Kingscote with a good restaurant and comfortable rooms. Check in was straightforward, receptionist friendly. Our room was on the ground floor, it was clean and had everything we needed for our two night stay though not very soundproof....on our second night we had a guy in the neighbouring room who seemed to spend the entirety of his stay on the phone so not the most restful of experiences! On a positive note the food in the restaurant was very good and I must just mention Mariana, our lovely waitress from Chilli.....she was such a ray of sunshine....a credit to the hotel! 💕 Kingscote is a good base to explore this beautiful island! We saw seals resting in the sunshine on the old pier in the evenings and playing in the waters in the mornings! All in all a good stay at this historic hotel....check out all the old photographs in the dining area!

The location was great. We stayed for 4 nights in Jan 2023 in a family room. The room was spacious enough for a family of 3 and it was clean. Staff were nice and helpful. We thought it was a 4 star hotel. I'd give it no more than 3. The room looked tired. The furniture was old. The hotel photos certainly look so much better than the actual room.

We had 2 nights here and so glad we chose Kingscote as it is closer to the main attractions of the island. The Seaview room was spacious and comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was lovely and quite reasonable. Highly recommend.

Pretty much perfect. Had a minor maintenance issue on arrival, went to reception to report the issue, by the time I walked back to the room, maintenance were there, full of apologies and quickly rectified the issue, very well done. Staff bright and cheerful, polite, professional and prompt. Great service from all staff Room was clean and functional, beds very comfortable. Food was excellent, both evening meals and the breakfast buffet. Overall very happy, will stay there again and more than happy to recommend Aurora Ozone KI

We reserved and paid for our 2 rooms (4 people) months ago, asking for adjacent or nearby rooms. We ended up with rooms at opposite ends of the hotel 60 yards apart. One room was up a narrow twisting flight of stairs - no lift. "No rooms available, we are full" was what they said when we asked to move. The room had a 2 inch trip hazard leading to the bathroom and a 1" trip hazard right in front of the stairs running down. This hotel is unsafe. The staff negligent and uncaring. Not recommended.

The hotel was quiet in spite of having a lot of residents. Our room was in the old section and had been modernised to a good standard. The view from the shared balcony was an ocean view and was pleasant. The breakfast had an excellent range of food and the dining area was large and spacious. The staff were extremely helpful and assisted us to carry our bags to our room as there was no lift in that part of the hotel.

Im Innern war es dagegen sehr modern möbliert.Es gibt ein großes Restaurant, einen ansprechenden Aufenthaltsraum und einen Barbereich. Wir wurden von der Dame an der Rezeption sehr freundlich empfangen. Unser Zimmer hatte Blick auf die Uferpromenade und das Meer. Auf dem Balkon befand sich eine Sitzgelegenheit. Das Zimmer war wohnlich eingerichtet und wirkte durch die große Fensterfront sehr hell. Es gibt einen Außenpool. Für das Abendessen ist eine Reservierung unbedingt zu empfehlen, da das Hotel auch von größeren Reisegruppen angesteuert wird. Wir waren mit dem Essen an beiden Abenden sehr zufrieden. Ganz im Gegenteil dazu das zugebuchte Frühstück: Der Kaffee war zu dünn, die Buffet-Auswahl schlecht und das Rührei kaum genießbar. Sonderwünsche nur gegen Bezahlung. The staff and people at this hotel are friendly, super helpful and frankly just amazing! Visited here just over 12 years ago, and the approach to travellers hasn't changed in the slightest. The room was amazing, facing the sea, it was quiet, very clean, modern and fresh decor, and had everything you can expect from a hotel. It is in my opinion the premier hotel experience without the added cost. Breakfast had plenty of options to satisfy multiple traveller needs, from yoghurts, breads, cakes, pastries, meats, cheese and traditional Full English. The bar is available throughout the day with facilities to plug you laptop in and work/browse with their free wifi too. Evening meals are high quality and well priced I found. I struggled to get to desert, though I enjoyed the Steak and the Burger options. Dining with a complete sea view too, just adds to the atmosphere. The only downside was having to leave this gorgeous and well run/maintained hotel, to head home. Well done everyone here, you make it look so easy!

The property was in a great location close to the water. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, even getting us dishes and cutlery so we could bring food to our room. The only meal we had was the buffet breakfast and it was not great, especially for the price of $25. It was very limited and half the items were empty when we arrived. We also found it frustrating that we had to walk across the street to check in and out.

We had 2 nights here and so glad we chose Kingscote as it is closer to the main attractions of the island. The Seaview room was spacious and comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was lovely and quite reasonable. Highly recommend.
