Lovely decor and excellent food with an unusual menu choice for the evening meal (South African dishes). Good breakfast. The staff were very friendly. The bed was extremely comfy with good pillows. The only downside was there was only 2 coat hangers for 2 people. Plenty of parking. Would not hesitate to recommend to others

The pub is in a quiet village several miles from Guildford. We were welcomed when we arrived and shown to our room which was very large and comfortable. They had already put fans in the room which was very welcome as it was very hot. Breakfast has to be preordered and was very tasty. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and had outside seating both nights. There was a varied menu including some South African dishes and everything we ate was very tasty. The only concern was that the service was slow, especially on the 2nd night. It took over 30 minutes before we received our drinks, with hindsight, I would probably get our first drinks from the bar before sitting at the table.

A lovely little find, The Percy Arms is in the beautiful village of Chilworth. There are plenty of walks around the village. We walked up St Martha’s hill to St Martha’s church which has fabulous views over the North Downs. Chilworth Manor winery is on the doorstep. If you wanted to leave your car and travel further a field there is a train station across the road from the Percy Arms. We ate on the terrace for our evening meal and breakfast which was served up beautifully. I can heartily recommend a stay here.

The hotel really is great value for money. Nice good room with a big bed. Everything seems clean an new. The breakfast that was included was great as well. Parking was free. We have no complaints!

We had a great stay and would give 5 stars. We arrived and the restaurant was very busy but we were still shown to our room. I advised we had not booked a table for dinner as we were unsure when we would arrive but were told "no problem we will get you to a table". The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The food was exceptional. We had breakfast both mornings also perfect. The staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem Overall, perfect stay, beautiful hotel and exceptionally lovely staff. We would most definately stay again

Great stay!! Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The pub was busy with customers but we found it quiet in the room and during the night. Our room was spacious with a large comfy bed and it was cleaned daily. We liked the food - the ribs and burgers are excellent. Will definitely consider staying here again.

Staff were very friendly and the room was clean, well furnished and comfortable. We were at the front, near the road, but the double glazing was effective and we hardly noticed any traffic noise. If we need to stay in the area in the future, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Great service at check-in and lovely evening meal. bathroom could have done with an update - not quite to the same standard as the bedroom itself. and a couple more hand towels would have helped. view of St Marthas were not so visible due to the condensation on the windows in the morning and the blinds, but we had a wonderful time. might be useful to have a slightly later check-in and later check-out. 10am check-out may be fine for a city hotel midweek, but on a sunday morning in a country pub after a lovely meal the night before, it felt a little rushed.

Lovely room and hotel. Decor was lovely. Huge shower and big roll top bath... It is situated on a busy road very close to a train line and you could hear trains and traffic but this didn't detract from our stay but others may find it off putting. Breakfast was delicious. I would return!

Only one small complaint, and that is that the folks turn the heating up to full, which needs turning down. The room was really hot... Maybe one for the cold blooded!..

Great place to stay. Bath in the room did not make sense at first but after 2hrs of soke I changed my mind. Room was clean, mattress really comfy, breakfast tasty. The only thing I could perhaps complain was a bit low temperature in the room at night but despite that I had a good sleep

The room was large and full of character, the bedding was warm and sumptuous, the staff were helpful and very friendly, the restaurant food was of a high standard, as was the breakfast (although a little more would have been appreciated), it was a lovely large older building, and so the stay was enjoyable. But….it was the first night of the winter freeze and when we awoke, the heating had gone off. So we had to go from a very cosy warm bed to extremely cold conditions, which wasn’t fun! Apart from the heating, we had a very nice stay at this well patronised establishment. After breakfast, we wrapped up warm and went for a walk up the hills behind the Percy Arms, and at the top, the views were spectacular. The location was therefore surrounded by some beautiful countryside.

The room was incredible and we enjoyed our stay here enormously. The staff were all exceptionally helpful, humourous and kind; the bath in the room was one of the reasons we booked (and it delivered); and the food at breakfast was second to none. We'll definitely visit again!

Room was clean and nicely decorated. Parking was easy. However staff were not very friendly, quite abrupt and unwelcoming. One thing I found quite unwelcoming and which I've never come across is they made me sign a form on arrival saying strictly no food or alcohol in the bedrooms unless purchased on their premises or they give you a hefty fine! So I had no choice but to eat in the restaurant which was not only very pricey and over my budget but the burger was extremely greasy. I stay in hotels weekly with my work and I haven't come across this before . Nowhere on expedia it states this in the rules or restrictions. Not a very welcoming experience.

Absolutely amazing couldn’t fault it at all from checking in to checking out, the food was amazing the staff amazing kind and friendly and will do anything for you, i stayed with my partner, as we checked in they asked if we are having breakfast I said only my partner as I had to leave very early for work Alex who took us to our room said he could make me a packed breakfast if I wished and to his word that evening they left a bag containing a bacon roll, orange juice, packet of crisps and an apple, it was very heartwarming as I’ve never experienced that anywhere else… 10/10

The pub is in a quiet village several miles from Guildford. We were welcomed when we arrived and shown to our room which was very large and comfortable. They had already put fans in the room which was very welcome as it was very hot. Breakfast has to be preordered and was very tasty. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and had outside seating both nights. There was a varied menu including some South African dishes and everything we ate was very tasty. The only concern was that the service was slow, especially on the 2nd night. It took over 30 minutes before we received our drinks, with hindsight, I would probably get our first drinks from the bar before sitting at the table.

The room was fabulous and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They arranged taxis for us and the breakfast was delicious. 10/10 in every way!

The Percy Arms is truly a hidden gem in Surrey. Situated in the quaint village of Chilworth, this quiet Inn was absolutely fantastic on all fronts. The room was gorgeous and spacious. The bar/restaurant offers upscale comfort food and is a place for locals and tourists alike. The staff went above and beyond, and were very welcoming. Only 9 minutes away from Guildford and with a train station very close by, the Percy Arms is a great location for commuting and traveling around. Could not recommend enough.

The room was large and full of character, the bedding was warm and sumptuous, the staff were helpful and very friendly, the restaurant food was of a high standard, as was the breakfast (although a little more would have been appreciated), it was a lovely large older building, and so the stay was enjoyable. But….it was the first night of the winter freeze and when we awoke, the heating had gone off. So we had to go from a very cosy warm bed to extremely cold conditions, which wasn’t fun! Apart from the heating, we had a very nice stay at this well patronised establishment. After breakfast, we wrapped up warm and went for a walk up the hills behind the Percy Arms, and at the top, the views were spectacular. The location was therefore surrounded by some beautiful countryside.

If you wanted to leave your car and travel further a field there is a train station across the road from the Percy Arms. We ate on the terrace for our evening meal and breakfast which was served up beautifully. I can heartily recommend a stay here.

My husband and I booked to stay here as it was not far from Silent Pool. We were delighted to check in to Njdov (4) which is a lovely big room with a bath in the bedroom. Large walk in shower and huge bed. We also ate dinner in the garden. We were lucky it was a beautiful evening and a duck family flew into the stream. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had steak and a lovely glass of Malbec. My husband had the Bunny curry (weird name for lamb 😆) That went down a treat too. I had the full English breakfast and Kevin had the South African which he really enjoyed.

We had a great stay and would give 5 stars. We arrived and the restaurant was very busy but we were still shown to our room. I advised we had not booked a table for dinner as we were unsure when we would arrive but were told "no problem we will get you to a table". The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The food was exceptional. We had breakfast both mornings also perfect. The staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem Overall, perfect stay, beautiful hotel and exceptionally lovely staff. We would most definately stay again

Lovely decor and excellent food with an unusual menu choice for the evening meal (South African dishes). Good breakfast. The staff were very friendly. The bed was extremely comfy with good pillows. The only downside was there was only 2 coat hangers for 2 people. Plenty of parking. Would not hesitate to recommend to others

We enjoyed our one night stay very much. The room was great, comfortable bed with good quality linen. Breakfast was generous and tasty served with barista style coffee. Staff were kind and helpful and the owner is a seasoned restaurateur which is evident in the excellent quality of food and service. We highly recommend the Percy!

Being from the Guildford area This is one of my favourite places around this area. The food is tasty and always well served. Portions are plentiful and staff is very polite and thoughtful. Good experience and recommended! It is worth booking in advance as the place gets busy in the evenings. Great place for groups and has plenty of space available. The dry aged steaks are really good and the South African cuisine inspired dishes are well worth the try.

I really like this place , I stayed here a few years ago and the standard has remained high . It’s comfortable ,the staff are friendly and helpful and it’s really good value for money .Breakfast is excellent as is the food generally - had the best steak I’ve had in a long while for dinner .

A one night stay here at Percy Arms was very enjoyable. Room was spacious & very clean. Parking was very easy and close to hotel. Staff were very good and very sociable. Meal in the evening was lovely and I found a wonderful new glaze for my steaks. Monkey Gland sauce was the glaze on my steak which was fabulous. I will be going out to find this sauce which is South African. I did leave behind a phone charger and a belt and the hotel have informed me that they will return them to my home. So excellent service. I wonder if their chef would put a little bottle of the Monkey Gland sauce in the parcel. Would def stay here again and would recommend

The staff were very helpful and fitted us in for one of the best Sunday lunches we'd ever had. Lovely spacious room with delicious breakfast. The only negative was the amount of available parking, but it was a very busy Sunday afternoon when we arrived

The room was hot but then outside temp had reached 35 degrees on the day we arrived! Two fans in the room helped plus a couple of showers. Room and ensuite were well presented and breakfast was just perfect.

Absolutely marvellous!! We stayed for 2 nights in this bed and breakfast with an African themed grillhouse restaurant downstairs, with indoor and outdoor dining opportunities, and we couldn’t fault a thing. The staff were all so cheerful and helpful and nothing was too much to ask. We loved our en-suite room with complimentary toiletries and everything we could need including a coffee machine and fan! The bed was comfy and provided a great night sleep with fluffy pillows and duvet. Breakfast in the morning was chosen the night before from a wide range of possibilities for all tastes. Parking was available onsite next to the main building and it had plenty of places for parking all shapes and sizes of vehicles. We will be back!
