This resort offers an outstanding getaway. Our room was large, comfortable and very clean. The staff at the resort are lovely and very helpful. There are 7 pools on the property to enjoy and two restaurants. The food and service at both are outstanding. We are definitely planning to return.

Situated in the heart of the Karon hilly areas this beautiful hotel offers all the convenience of walking distance to the shops, restaurants and beaches. Tasty breakfast and nicely decorated rooms and 5 smaller swimming pools with bars in them are very inviting and relaxing for everyone seeking comfort and pleasure. Well equipped gym is also a plus. Staff is really pleasant and friendly willing to help at any time. The only thing is you should be prepared to walk tens of steep steps to your room. Better be fit. Loved it here.

An amazing resort!! The facilities are amazing. A very large resort with many pools to choose from. Their food offering (breakfast, bar snacks, dinner) are all amazing. The bar service and drinks are very good as well. The staff are very helpful and reception is always manned. I visited the spa as well and the massage was very very relaxing. Overal a great stay, great location and I will be returning.

Beautiful luxurious hotel set in beautiful surroundings in tropical woodland above Karon beach. Everything you need for a relaxing break away from the huddle and bustle - friendly and helpful staff - great pools and pool bars - two restaurants. Daily replenishment of bottled water was a nice touch. Shuttle to beach ( walk of 15 mins) was handy - although Beach is beautiful it is very busy and a different vibe - nice for a change but not as classy as the Hotel.

This resort is amazing, lots of pools to choose from and great breakfast selection. Staff were lovely, and couldn't do enough to help. We loved the little buggies that would take you to your room if you couldn't be bothered to walk up the hill.

It was our second time staying at the Mandarava and it was amazing as usual. Accommodation was great, we had a pool access room and wouldn’t go any other way. There are 5 pools and numerous pool bars which we especially took advantage of during happy hour - very fair cocktail prices. The only 2 things I would critique are the TVs and the in room service. The TV’s don’t allow you to connect your phone to it to watch things like Netflix. Especially on the days where it rained or stormed. I wish they had Smart TV’s. The pizza and garlic bread were terrible both times.. barely cooked cheese and a very dry base. Other than that, everything was incredible and I would recommend anybody to stay here!

A little bit hilly due to the location but buggies provided access to all of resort,even down to Karon beach.The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to cater for needs.Choice of 5 excellent good size swimming pools with a swim up bar in every one.Excellent breakfast choice for all nationalities.Highly recommended resort.

4 night stay at the start of our honeymoon. Bedroom and other parts of hotel were spotlessly clean. Staff friendly & welcoming. Breakfast buffet was very good in terms of choice and taste - regularly replenished. Very hilly resort hotel, so check out options if you have mobility problems. We had one maintenence problem with the ceiling fan during our stay, but it was dealt with efficiently, and hotel staff could not apologize enough. They left a bouquet of flowers in our room by way of apology, and even offered to change our room including an upgrade. We declined, as we only had 2 nights left, plus the problem had been fully resolved without any inconvenience to us. Hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from a few local shops, restaurants and massage parlours, and only about 10-15 minutes walk to Karon Beach and the town centre.

Have been staying @Mandarava over many years and this pristine hidden gem is a joy to stay out. All facilities brilliantly maintained and showing no signs of age. Pristine gardens, pools multiple X 5 sparking, rooms A+ for cleanliness and size.

The room was loaded with sand fleas and ants - both were in the bed as well! Not what you want to see! Had to check-out early after 1 night. The property needs upkeep. The pictures looked great, but clearly pictures can be deceiving!

Had an amazing stay at this resort. The rooms were really spacious and so comfortable to sleep in. The pools were never full so it was super easy to get a sun lounger and the free towels to use were so handy. The staff at the pool bars were so helpful especially at the Pomelo pool which was also over 12s only therefore relaxed and quiet. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming and the shuttle bus service around the resort was a great service. I would definitely recommend a stay at this resort if you are heading to the Karon beach area.

View is nice, staffs are very helpful. Room to lobby transfer service can be arranged shortly. Room access pool is not big, didn't get the chance to try another pools Just the room lighting is extremely dim, also wifi is very poor most of the time either in room or restaurant.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay from 27/12 to 10/01 at Mandarava. We had the simplest Tropicana room but it felt as luxurious. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Staff are amazing and always willing to help. Car to and from the beach is very convenient. Pool is great. Restaurant is delicious. Breakfast has many options to choose from. Nothing to complain about. Hotel location may put some down as it is hilly but this did not affect us.

Beautiful room with private lounge chairs and jacuzzi, access to one of the swimming pools from room. Very comfortable room, great ac and overhead fan, nice bathroom. Staff throughout the resort is extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of hills on property but there is always someone to give you a lift if you don’t want to climb them Spa is great and a good deal. Had a wonderful vacation at Mandarava

We thoroughly enjoyed the high-quality breakfast, the friendly staff, and the pool options. We turned our Air Conditioning up to cool the room, however, the Air Conditioner struggled and kept the room modestly cool. Thankfully the room had a powerful ceiling fan.

4 night stay at the start of our honeymoon. Bedroom and other parts of hotel were spotlessly clean. Staff friendly & welcoming. Breakfast buffet was very good in terms of choice and taste - regularly replenished. Very hilly resort hotel, so check out options if you have mobility problems. We had one maintenence problem with the ceiling fan during our stay, but it was dealt with efficiently, and hotel staff could not apologize enough. They left a bouquet of flowers in our room by way of apology, and even offered to change our room including an upgrade. We declined, as we only had 2 nights left, plus the problem had been fully resolved without any inconvenience to us. Hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from a few local shops, restaurants and massage parlours, and only about 10-15 minutes walk to Karon Beach and the town centre.

The property was pretty but not very accommodating. We had a circumstance beyond our control of needing to adjust our stay and they absolutely wouldn't help us and sent out a junior staff and wouldn't let us speak to a supervisor...they blamed Expedia for not being flexible when in actuality it was their resort as Expedia said they would approve our change though Expedia did not give that to me in writing...its extra cost we are out of pocket unless Expedia can do something for us retroacively. They wanted me to call Expedia from there but id have wasted what precious little time we had in this area. My advice to Expedia is not uae hotels that don't have a cancelation policy as life happens and sometimes needs changes. They nect accommodation id booked was emailing me and stating so accommodatingly that if we needed to cancel or change anything for any reason that we could up to 48 hrs before. I had tried to adjust our stay at Mandarava 30 days before we got there and they would not help us....sadly looks like we're out $$$$ Please drop this resort or require a change in their inflexible policy aa it seems a bit prehistoric.

I can't say enough about Mandarava Resort! This place is an absolute slice of paradise, but what truly sets it apart is the exceptional staff. They are the epitome of friendliness and hospitality, consistently going above and beyond to make your stay perfect. A member of our travel party broke their leg during our trip, and the resort team was nothing short of incredible. It all starts when you check in. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. This extends to all staff who work at the Mandarava. Always happy to greet you and assist you wherever possible. Most importantly, it is all very genuine. The property is well maintained, in particular the grounds and gardens. Breakfast is a treat with a good range of food options. The restaurant provides a nice atmosphere with great views and is fairly open. If the weather turns, the staff will pull down the blinds to ensure you are not inconveniences and will just as quickly pull them back up once any bad weather has moved on. This was our third time back and for good reason. I can't say this about many hotels I've stayed in but this one actually offers good value for money. Our next trip to Phuket will make it our fourth.

I didn't like the fact that certain individuals got welcomed more than others. I sat there while arriving on the morning of my birthday and watched 4 separate partys receive complimentary welcome drinks and high energy welcomes, while I just received paperwork and was asked for my credit card. And when I addressed the issue, I was ignored. It was kinda hurtful being that I had just gotten off of a 26hr plane ride.A warm welcome on my birthday after something like that would have been appreciated.

The property is very nice. The people were very nice. Breakfast was great. What I didnt care for so much was the steps and steep incline. Had a hard tile finding our room and it was much further from beach than we thought when we booked. Location was more of a trek than expected. Beautiful room though. Spacious.

Situated in the heart of the Karon hilly areas this beautiful hotel offers all the convenience of walking distance to the shops, restaurants and beaches. Tasty breakfast and nicely decorated rooms and 5 smaller swimming pools with bars in them are very inviting and relaxing for everyone seeking comfort and pleasure. Well equipped gym is also a plus. Staff is really pleasant and friendly willing to help at any time. The only thing is you should be prepared to walk tens of steep steps to your room. Better be fit. Loved it here.

Really great place…no real complaints. It’s a bit hilly so a lot of up hill walking but they do have shuttles which are pretty convenient. You can take the shuttle to Karon beach as well HOWEVER last shuttle back is 6 so you can’t really go to Karon for dinner or see the sunset. But that said you could still use Grab to come back. Anyway highly recommended.

Loved our stay at Mandarava. Would stay again in a heart beat! Beautiful hotel, beautiful grounds and beautiful staff. Good location, generous amenities. Lots of hills and steps but there’s a brilliant 24/7 shuttle service to get around the hotel should you need it.

We loved everything about our stay from the room (cleaned daily), to the friendliness of the staff and variety at breakfast. The hotel is located close to Karon beach (you can walk but there is also a free shuttle service provided by the hotel) and lots of choices for restaurants and massage parlours nearby too. The Mandarava is unlike any property I've ever visited before. Built on a mountainside, the views are always spectacular. Five different pools and two unique restaurants to chose from help to make this property stand out. The staff here went above and beyond to truly make this a memorable stay. As it is built into a mountainside, there are a lot of steps, but the attendants are happy to give you a ride to your room if your legs can't take it. Fantastic place!

Visited 9 years ago and loved it. This visit was a disappointment - felt like everything had just become a little lower in standard. Fake grass by the pool, poor outside seating at the bar and I think the rooms have been redecorated and personally not a huge favourite of the new colours. The dressing table in the bathroom is fairly useless due to the heat in there and the lack of light. The heat also gets worse as while the AC is great, the policy is no AC when the housekeeper leaves the room, so it can be a sauna if you are in a sunny room with the amount of glass. The grounds are still stunning and the breakfast offering was excellent. Cocktails at the bar were expensive and poor quality. Gym is OK but needs some new equipment. We actually left for 2 nights of our 4 night stay to stay elsewhere as it was a huge disappointment after such an amazing first visit. Wouldn't rush back personally but a lot of other guests seemed to be enjoying it.

There are 5 pools and numerous pool bars which we especially took advantage of during happy hour - very fair cocktail prices. The only 2 things I would critique are the TVs and the in room service. The TV’s don’t allow you to connect your phone to it to watch things like Netflix. Especially on the days where it rained or stormed. I wish they had Smart TV’s. The pizza and garlic bread were terrible both times.. barely cooked cheese and a very dry base. Other than that, everything was incredible and I would recommend anybody to stay here!

We loved our stay at the Mandarava. We had a free room upgrade on arrival- Coral grand deluxe room which was beautiful looking out onto the coconut pool. The resort its self was beautiful, very clean, several pools so they were never too busy. The breakfast buffet had a good variety and was very tasty- the drinks were very good! They allowed me to take some food back for my partner who was not feeling well one day. The gym is well equipped for a hotel with dumbbells and machines. The only negative would be the price of drinks and for dinners/lunches at the hotel are extortionate compared to if you go into town so we tended to go into town for food and drink.

The overall experience was amazing. The property and the staff were all great, the breakfast was excellent, and service was 5 star to say the least. The room we chose had pool access with a bar right next to it, which made it convenient to grab a drink during their 50% off happy hour. The only thing I recommend is updating the property a bit, but they are already working on that by starting with the main pool. Excellent stay overall, will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

The room we chose had pool access with a bar right next to it, which made it convenient to grab a drink during their 50% off happy hour. The only thing I recommend is updating the property a bit, but they are already working on that by starting with the main pool. Excellent stay overall, will definitely recommend it to friends and family.
