I loved the attention to detail here. The fixtures in the bathroom right down to the hinges in the bathroom door were new and sparkly. Then the retro styling in the bedroom made me smile with every detail I noticed. The bed was comfy too. The grab and go breakfast consisted of individually wrapped muffins, granola bars, mini donuts, and pop tarts. There were also small bottles of fruit juice drink and coffee/tea. Outside offered a fun play structure for kiddies and a barbecue with a picnic table. A colorful place inside and out; we really enjoyed our stay.

Needs better customer service. We were in town for an event that was scheduled from 3-6PM, but ran late. We received a text at 5PM saying check-in had to be before 10PM, but if it was going to be later than 7, to call. I responded, saying we'd likely arrive about 6:30. I called shortly after, just to let them know our event was running late. The clerk wanted to know exactly when our ETA was, but we didn't know as we going to dinner with friends. She insisted we let her know a time, and I said I didn't, because we had no idea how long we might have to wait for a table, etc. She said check-in had to be by 10, so I assured her we would be there before 10, probably around 9:30. She told us it was more convenient for her for us to check in right away - which was NOT convenient for us. We ended up abandoning our friends to go check in & then had to go back, find new parking, catch up with our friends, etc. The town shuts down fairly early & we were concerned about restaurants closing. I travel a LOT & have never been inconvenienced like that. The decor is cute, but nothing special. The doors open directly to the parking lot, right off Hwy 50. The door only has a doorknob lock - no deadbolt or chain so anyone with a key could come in. The sink had almost no water pressure & no blow dryer. At 9AM the next morning, we got a text reminding us that checkout was promptly at 10, or we'd be charged another night. There are better options in town for the same price. We'll stay elsewhere

The motel is well located, although you have to drive to go in Salida downtown (4-5 minutes). It was super clean, well decorated and surrounded by moutains. It was quiet, well equiped and easy to park. We were satisfied with our choice. But nothing fancy here, it is a motel not a 5stars hotel.

Older motor court that has been extensively updated with modern plumbing fixtures, lighting, TV & floor coverings. '50s decor is enjoyable (for those of us old enough to remember it). Essentially a small basic room but pleasant, clean and with simple take-away breakfast items. Would certainly stay here again.

This property was really cute and I loved the parking right out front of our room. I felt like it was a really good deal for the price,great location,beds were comfortable, it was quiet and very clean. If you book here just make sure your read all the information they send you. The only issue we came across was when we needed more towels and didn't realize that you can only get them at a certain time, my fault for not reading the info better! Grab and go breakfast items were minimal but worked and was appreciated. For the price this is a great place to stay and I highly recommend it!!

The classic virtues of a motor hotel = motel like no elevators. Just unload from your car to your room. Welcoming environment: light breakfast (Otis Spunkmyer quality if that helps) plus orange juice, etc. Microwave in snack room. Very clean. Good TV (Spectrum, not Roku).

The property was clean , parking right in front of door , the room was clean , a couple of things I didn’t care for was the plugs was loose and the pillows really were bad , but overall it was good

Beautiful retro rooms and grounds. Staff was super friendly too. The breakfast snacks and coffee/tea were also a nice touch. My second stay here and I look forward to the next👍

I wasn’t expecting much from an older motel in small town. I was so wrong!!! This old retro motel is so cute! The rooms aren’t big and the breakfast isn’t much, but the whole place has been very well decorated in an retro style including an Adirondack chairs at each door, a nice outdoor grilling area and clean playground. Even the drive thru check in was easy, easy, easy. After checking in, head down to the Riverwalk on F Street. Wonderful stores including Ruby Blues - a secondhand, thrift store.

Old 50’s style but very clean and good smelling.

I never leave reviews but I have to say this is one of the cutest motel rooms I have ever stayed in and since I’m already leaving your review, it was very very clean!

Cute property, but that’s where it ends. The manager/front desk attendant is there limited hours and unnecessarily rude. I only interacted with him at check-in, which was fine, and then when he approached my car. I was scorned for not knowing I could just call him at his home quarters for a hairdryer that’s behind the front desk. I was made to read a scroll of rules at check-in, and that tidbit wasn’t listed anywhere. The manager told me that it was because I’d booked a “cheap room” and maybe I’d be more comfortable at a “corporate hotel” if I wanted a hair dryer. I stay in Salida weekly, in all of the other local hotels - hairdryers in all of them. Standard in the US. The door is insecure - easily destructible frame, has no deadbolt or latch, hasn’t been wiped down since they painted it. Need a coffee maker? Sorry, just a useless retro tissue box cover and phone. Batteries dead in the remote, bathroom floor so sticky I had to wear shoes. Can deal with all of that, and did. But the most concerning part? At 9:50a I was taking a call in my car in front of the hotel room, shortly after checking out early because I couldn’t get a good Internet connection. The manager/front desk attendant/now housekeeper approached my vehicle, had me roll down my window, and told me if I wasn’t off the parking lot by 10am, I’d be charged for another night, so I took the opp to ask ab the hairdryer. I had zero negative interactions with him prior. Please save your money and peace.

Perfectly fine for the price. Only complaint is the blinds are very thin and don't really block sun light or head lights.

This is a unique hotel. The room was spacious with a changing room leading into the bath. They had a hall tree in the dressing area that all hotels should have. There were places for your luggage, shoes, and places to hang clothes all combined into one area. They seem to have thought it through when they put these rooms together, unlike some hotels. Highly recommend and will return if ever in the area.

I was a bit disappointed in the place after having read the positive reviews. I was especially disappointed that my room did not have a coffee maker. The decor is quaint, but the room was a bit difficult to heat. Overall it was a decent place to stay for a couple of nights.

The only real issue was the curtains. Let in too much light. Some road noise. But good refurb of old motel.

My husband and I were attending a conference in Buena Vista for a week and decided to stay in Salida as the prices were better. We were thrilled with this location! We loved how safe, clean, well kept it was. They pay attention to detail and take pride in the facility. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean, the decor was so cute. My only critique is that I’m glad we brought our own pillows as the ones in the room were a bit flimsy. Wonderful wonderful stay.

Motel is super cute and our room was the perfect size for two of us for one night on our road trip. Only a couple things would have made it better. The window really needs to have curtains that block out the sun. When you’re on vacation and drove for a long time, the last thing you want is to wake when the sun comes up. The room brightens up too much in the am. Would have been nice to have black out curtains to not be awaken at 0600. Also, the mattress is a bit too firm.

This is a great non-chain motel/hotel option in Salida. The rooms have been refreshed with great updated bathrooms! There were apparently satellite troubles when we were there and the front desk didn't know how to reset the TV so we had no TV - either for the evening or the next morning. This also seemed to slow down WIFI or WIFI was just a bit slow. Overall would be happy to try them again.

A fun place to stay. Right on the main road so easy walk to a few businesses. Newly renovated with fun themes. Clean. Comfortable.

Don’t book a room there! There is a reason only 3 rooms were booked when I stayed there, poor customer service. Front desk person seemed put out that I was checking in after 7pm. Grab & go breakfast was non existent, as myself and the other guests discovered. To top things off, even though I followed check out procedures & was out of my room by 10 am, I was harassed & threatened by an employee, who said being out of the room was not enough, I needed to be off the property by 10:15! I was in the back of my truck rearranging some items before getting back on the road. The employee drove up, immediately got out of his vehicle, and started shouting demands at me to get off the property or he would charge me for an additional day. When I told him I would dispute any charge like that, he threatened to call the police, called me derogatory names several times, made slurs about my age a number of times, & did all this in front of the only 2 guests left on the property! Needless to say, I stopped what I was doing, & to avoid any further confrontation, drove off the property immediately. I tried to speak with a manager about this incident, but basically they backed their rude bully employee, saying he did nothing wrong. Furthermore, they charged me for an additional day in the room, which leads me to believe that this is a scam they run on guests to charge them for an extra nite in the room! I have initiated a dispute of those extra charges through my credit card company.

This sink would not drain, the guy who checked me in came right over and had it fixed in no time, I appreciate that. I booked months in advance, it would have been better to have a room that wasn't the closet one to the main road. I will always stay here.

Clean and smelled good and the front office came to room to reboot the tv and put their password in to get connected!

Choose other lodging in Salida! Check-in process is a concern. Welcome email asks you to check-in via a drive-thru window which is odd behavior. This business scans a copy of your driver's license which is completely unacceptable in our current world of continual software breaches. I felt like the drive-in check-in process attempts to hide this practice. A bargain hotel in Salida Colorado has no justifiable reason for retaining an image of your ID. This practice is an unnecessary intrusion into your personal information and adds risk to the data leakage of your personal information.

I was quoted a price of all-in from Expedia but was charged a higher price upon checking in. What's up with that? I know it is a small amount, but I expect to pay the rate I originally booked.

Ralph (front desk) was great, the rooms were inviting, and bed was comfy. Will be back for our next visit to Salida.

Room ambience was unique, 60s / 70s Americana. Location was convenient, staff was nice and accommodating. Definitely recommend

This motel is a great find. The location is close to everything. The decorating is very cute and room was perfect for us. The only thing I would have liked is a deadbolt or similar on the door. The lock on door didn't feel very secure. Other than that, it was perfect. Highly recommend!

We loved our overnight stay at this property! Check in was super easy didn’t even have to get out of the car! The room was clean, comfortable bed. Great selection of snacks, juice and coffee for breakfast. I do wish there was deadbolt or chain lock on the door but other than that it was perfect! Highly recommend especially for the price!
