This is not your typical hotel, but for Williams, it is perfect. Red Garter is located in the center of the Route 66 business district, adjacent to all the shops and restaurants. There are approximately 6 rooms on the second story of a building built in the 1890s. There is no front desk. They give you a code to get in the front door. You walk up steep stairs (but with good hand rails). The building is old, but it does not feel old. The bathroom fixtures are like new. The linens are top quality and the bed is very comfortable. There's a shared "kitchen" in the hall with frig, microwave, ice, Keurig coffee maker. The location can't be beat. Free parking is across the street. For a single or couple, I think you will love it. Again, perfect for Williams.

Great hotel-centrally located and easy to find/access. Our room was larger than expected and quite comfortable-historic charm, with comfortable beds. Small kitchen area with fresh coffee daily. Hotel was very quiet and relaxing.

Very unique stay. John was very communicative and helpful. The common area with coffee and fridge was very nice. It was very comfortable. Odd to be in a room with no windows but that was our choice. We used some of the coupons left for us. Anna’s cafe was delicious.

Amazing location, as close as you can be to the Grand Canyon railway outside of the railway hotel & right in the heart of historic Williams. The history & atmosphere of the building is amazing & the resident ghost was extremely friendly. The large pu lic parking area directly across from the inn accommodated our pickup truck & 20ft trailer without any trouble & was directly in front of the inn entrance. Very cool place that fits with the historic theme of the area & offers guests bragging rights after spending a nice ght with a ghost;))

Cute and comfortable. The stairs are hard to climb, so getting your luggage up is a chore. We only took up the items we needed. Public parking is free; across the street.

This was certainly a very unique property. Reminded you of earlier times. Rooms were decorated period appropriate. Beds and pillows very comfortable. No front desk and checkin required. All done through messages. Thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and would not hesitate to recommend.

We love staying at historic hotels and this was one of the best. Perfect for a stopover as we drove from New Mexico to California. Check-in was easy. Yes the stairs are steep, and we just left our suitcases in the car. The hotel is beautifully restored and we appreciated all the details of the decor and furnishings. We loved the Best Gals room and watching trains go by. Very charming. Also close to shops and restaurants. Easy parking right in front. Would definitely stay here again.

Great historic building with good accommodations in a nice shopping/dining/drinking area. The only drawback was the music from the patio bar behind us that went on until midnight. Good thing it was decent music!

Small hotel quite beautiful and very very close to shops restaurants Downstairs there is a wonderful breakfast lunch dinner You will love it! No matter where you are in Williams you will hear the train to the canyon. This place is upstairs about 4-5 rooms private bath ours had a sitting room too. Beautiful comfortable old hotel !

We come to Williams every 4th, but this was our first time at this hotel. It was wonderful! The view is awesome and the location couldn’t be better. The stairs are a healthy little workout.

I loved the style of the room. It was clean and very comfortable. We were sent a code for self check in before we arrived and instructions what to do with the key on check out. We had a nice view from the room and everything we needed for our break. I would definitely recommend. It wasn't a negative for us and the manager advised us to travel light as there is no elevetator. It helped as we only took what we needed while staying there.

Not interacting with a human was a major draw back! The property blamed the booking service for poor communication and not being able to tell us what room we were in. I traded emails because of booking issues and now they are telling me that even though the property said that they had canceled one night that I have to pay for it. If you want to me a small cozy B&B type property then do your own booking or at minimum do some proactive communications with you clients.

Decided on a last minute getaway to Williams and The Red Garter was available. Great little spot right downtown. The room was very neat and clean with a boutique vibe. No front desk and no frills, but this was perfect for our trip. The stairs are steep, so just go slow. Nothing haunted us and my only difficulty was dialing in the room temp with the remote. Will definitely stay here again.

It was a super cute place. No staff on site but they were very responsive when I asked a question. I didn’t realize that this location is supposed to be haunted. I found this out from an article hanging in the hallway. We didn’t have any ghost interaction luckily. The room was small but comfortable. We stayed in #4. Pretty quiet except for the morning the staff of the restaurant below woke us around 5am. We slept with the window open so I just closed it to duffel the noise. I would stay there again but I’d pick the room in front with the sitting room. We

We had to book a last minute stay because of travel conditions, and the Red Garter turned out to be an excellent choice. We enjoyed our brief stay while being holed up in Williams for the night. There are great restaurants around the corner, a wonderful breakfast place downstairs, and RJ Mex Food a short walk away.

Amazing location, as close as you can be to the Grand Canyon railway outside of the railway hotel & right in the heart of historic Williams. The history & atmosphere of the building is amazing & the resident ghost was extremely friendly. The large pu lic parking area directly across from the inn accommodated our pickup truck & 20ft trailer without any trouble & was directly in front of the inn entrance. Very cool place that fits with the historic theme of the area & offers guests bragging rights after spending a nice ght with a ghost;))

We come to Williams every 4th, but this was our first time at this hotel. It was wonderful! The view is awesome and the location couldn’t be better. The stairs are a healthy little workout.

We had such a great stay at the Red Garter! Awesome location across from train station and right in the hub of the main drag. Easy walking to restaurants and shops…a wonderful cafe (Anna’s) is also adjacent to hotel. Room was cozy and so comfortable. Enjoyable and interesting history. We loved the common kitchen area which provided water, use of fridge, microwave, and coffee. The manager was very sweet and texted us our entry info day of arrival, as there is no front desk at hotel. Manager was easily accessible via text to answer any questions. Highly recommend The Red Garter for a stay in Williams!

Great communication. Beautiful hotel and room. The only issue was the noise. The train blasted its horn at about 2 am and lots of loud noises from reversing trucks. Not sure if this is normal or due to snow blizzard. We went to the restaurant that is part of the hotel and had a great supper. Overall a great experience.

We had to book a last minute stay because of travel conditions, and the Red Garter turned out to be an excellent choice. We enjoyed our brief stay while being holed up in Williams for the night. There are great restaurants around the corner, a wonderful breakfast place downstairs, and RJ Mex Food a short walk away.

Small hotel quite beautiful and very very close to shops restaurants Downstairs there is a wonderful breakfast lunch dinner You will love it! No matter where you are in Williams you will hear the train to the canyon. This place is upstairs about 4-5 rooms private bath ours had a sitting room too. Beautiful comfortable old hotel !

Great hotel-centrally located and easy to find/access. Our room was larger than expected and quite comfortable-historic charm, with comfortable beds. Small kitchen area with fresh coffee daily. Hotel was very quiet and relaxing.

Very unique stay. John was very communicative and helpful. The common area with coffee and fridge was very nice. It was very comfortable. Odd to be in a room with no windows but that was our choice. We used some of the coupons left for us. Anna’s cafe was delicious.

This hotel is one of the most unique places we have ever stayed! Check in was so easy and everything was decorated beautifully! I love the history of the building and the surrounding area. So many delicious restaurants were literally seconds away!

We enjoyed our stay. The room was unique and clean. There was a restaurant downstairs and others nearby. It was also really close to the train station, which was very convenient for us. None of those things added any noise or disruption. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Shower in Room #2 did not work at all we had to go to Room #4 to take a shower. Other than that the stay was wonderful, quiet and comfortable. Full of quirky historical furniture/items and spacious rooms. This was a great historic Inn a former Bordello located in downtown Williams Az west of Flagstaff. So if you want to stay overnight in Flagstaff consider Williams, Red Garter Inn, instead. You won’t regret it. Also there is a train that will take you to the north rim of the Grand Canyon that leaves from there.
Shower in Room #2 did not work at all we had to go to Room #4 to take a shower. Other than that the stay was wonderful, quiet and comfortable. Full of quirky historical furniture/items and spacious rooms. This was a great historic Inn a former Bordello located in downtown Williams Az west of Flagstaff. So if you want to stay overnight in Flagstaff consider Williams, Red Garter Inn, instead. You won’t regret it. Also there is a train that will take you to the north rim of the Grand Canyon that leaves from there.

If you’re looking for fun and different this is definitely it! The hotel is tiny, doesn’t have standard hotel amenities. It’s simple and to the point with basic necessities. Very historic vibe which is on point for Route 66. Loved the fact that we could walk the entire Williams downtown district. Lots of restaurants and shops. Loved how it fit into the groove of the area. If you’re looking for simple, vintage and 100% different than all other hotels or B&Bs, this is it
