Viking Nature Resort

Loved this resort! It’s very private and has a beautiful beach, reasonably priced food and drinks and our 3 bedroom 3 bathroom cabin was absolutely beautiful. The walk to town (a must do) takes about 20 minutes but you can also take the resort’s private longboat for free. My daughter felt very safe at night when walking alone.

Viking Nature Resort is a lovely spot on Ko Phi Phi, close enough to the village for excursions & partying bit far enough away to be peaceful & relaxing. Getting the boat to the hotel is fun and the porters carrying our bags in & our incl to the room are a credit to the hotel. Food is good- mix of Thai food and some more International dishes, same for breakfast. Bar service good- from cold Chang to fresh coconuts. The place has a luxurious feel to it- lots of things are considered for the customer but is not 5 stay luxury - it’s rustic and you are close to nature. We saw bats, giant millipedes, stray cats & dogs (all very friendly) plus an array of birds and of course fish in the sea. Sea is very shallow so safe for inexperienced swimmers and it’s a short walk / swim to adjacent Long Beach for more interest. Boats can be arranged to take you to tonsai village and back. Likewise early morning scooters if you have an early excursion and you can have an excellent Thai massage out by the sea. The hotel is let down on the cleanliness side- the beach beanbags are dropping pellets of foam on the sand and there is some rubbish - cigarette ends, straws etc that the customers leave clearly but the staff could clean up. Otherwise, great hotel - would recommend.

Great accomodation, stunning (wooden) rooms. Walking distance to Tonsai beach, but good food and drinks and booking of trips also available in or near the resort.

Over priced for the amenities or lack there of at this hotel. No pool, no gym, restaurant is mediocre at best and ridiculously expensive for Thailand, quality also not great. There is a boat that takes you to and from the main pier, but they don’t tell you that you have to pay for it until you check out and get ding with a big tab. Laundry was also outrageously expensive, also to note is that they lost my laundry, nowhere to be found when I went to pick it up.

It's directly on the beach which is gorgeous and there is a hidden cove around the corner there is also easy access to Long Beach, so when the beach is in the shade you can go to Long Beach. You can use the accommodations canoe to go round the island to another gorgeous deserted beach. I like the fact the restaurant has sand underfoot. It feels quirky and authentic. The rooms are massive and the decor is very tasteful.

My friends and I had an incredible experience at the Viking Nature Resort. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They helped organize a perfect snorkeling tour with pickup/drop off at the resorts private beach. The restaurant menu has a lot to offer and everything we ordered was great. We did not dine out anywhere else on the island because it was so convenient. The walk into town takes 20-25 minutes but it’s a nice walk right along the coast and beaches. We loved the grand villa and really enjoyed our stay!

We were very happy to be upgraded! The room was very nice! We had a little toilet inconvenience but was was fixed immediately. Breakfast was good! Dinner was good (grilled fish and seafood!). Service was very nice and aimed to please! There is a 15 min walk to town if interested. We took a tour to the islands and was wonderful! Thank you!! 🙏

Vannet var enten veldig kaldt eller veldig varmt vann. Brukte lang tid på å justere temperaturen.

Stunning location with stunning accommodation. Vicking will pick you up from Tonsai pier at your arrival and you will arrive by boat to their resort. What a place and what a fantastic way to arrive to their private beach. Our accommodation was by far the best in our trip. Terrace with a view of the Andaman Sea. We had a special guest appearance (3 monkeys got into our room and helped themselves with sugar and fanta in the fridge: just remember to close the bedroom door as they will find their way to grab food) . In fairness after that, no need to go on Monkey island 😉 Great meals , great staff. Possibility to rent snorkling equipment and kayaks. Access to Long beach (5 min) and town (10 min) and free taxi boat organised throughout the day. Outside the hours, it will only cost you £2.50 to go to town by tail boat. I would highly recommend this resort. No swimming pool , just a fabulous beach to yourself.

Fun little treehouse style resort with private beach. Transportation to and from town is somewhat an issue. They say it is a 25 min easy walk but it is not easy. You need to hire a scooter which is 200 baht per person. The food at the resort restaurant is priced well so not really an issue unless you have a tour or want to go to town. The beach is wonderful and not packed with people. We would definitely return.

The room was actually much more spacious than we expected, one of those rare occasions where reality is better than the photos online. However, I’m not sure if it was the proximity to the beach or the unusually rainy week we experienced, but the room had a persistent damp smell, as if it hadn’t been aired out for a while or the bedding hadn’t fully dried. Another point to note is the hotel’s location. It’s a solid 25–30 minute walk from town, and we were under the impression that they offered regular free boat transfers. That’s not the case. They provide one complimentary transfer at check-in and another at check-out, but beyond that, each boat ride (if one is available) costs 150 Baht per person. This became a real issue for us because the heavy rain meant there wasn’t much to do around the hotel, so we often ended up walking nearly two hours each day to get to town. While the path is mostly paved and lit, it’s full of ups and downs and quite a few stairs, so it can be tiring. Breakfast was just average. The staff speaks English, but only to a very limited degree.

Really nice concept of wooden structures that blend in with the landscape . Restaurant food off the menu was excellent and plentiful. Breakfast was hit & miss . Things were not replenished enough . Overall nice but has gone down hill a bit from 5 years ago with tidiness . Rubbish left about all day at the beach area and tables not tidied away for a while etc .

Wirklich noch recht „nature“ aber leider auch ungepflegt (Abfall …). Kleine herzige Bucht gleich beim Resort aber wir empfehlen Long Beach gleich nebrnan angrenzend (< 5 min). Massagen sind an beiden Stränden sehr gut.

Our room was beautiful, large comfy bed, great shower, clean yet homely. My favourite part was the lovely outside balcony with large and d very comfortable hammock, it was worth paying the extra for this room type. The location is great if you re happy to be be away from the main town, although we walked into town twice and found it a fairly easy and very pretty walk. I really liked being away from the hustle and bustle. Long beach is a short but steep walk away, this would be a nice place to stay, with some good snorkeling (we saw the black tip reef sharks t shark point) but not as pretty as Viking Resort bay. The restaurant at the resort was better than I expected, not the best food ever but the fried rice was super tasty and prices not too high. Lots of choice at breakfast. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Overall very happy with my choice to stay here and would recommend.

We were left waiting in the rain at Tonsai Pier for 45 minutes before our free shuttle boat arrived. Then transported very insafely by tractor trailer to the reception area where very unfriendly staff checked us in. The room we were given was 5 star, but entailed climbing lots of uneven steps. Beautiful surroundings, but unfortunately there is lots of rubbish scattered around the resort. The reception and dining area could do with a major revamp. Some small changes could turn this into a great resort.

The room was beautiful, spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast has a great choice of meals.

Es war unsere schlechteste Unterkunft in Thailand und das mit Abstand. Wir hatten Ameisen im Bad. Wir teilten dies mit und trotzdem wurde schlecht geputzt. Am nächsten Tag waren kleine würmer überall im Bad. Die Angestellten spucken rum. Überall Kehricht. Am Frühstücksbüffet sind sie unfreundlich und arbeiten nur ungerne.

Quiet and peaceful, we felt very close to nature! We also loved the location and amenities of our room (we had a bungalow facing the sea). However, the room didn’t feel very clean (the rugs didn’t look like they had been washed and there were some bugs in the washroom. Additionally the mattress seemed a bit old and smelt a bit of old sweat. Overall it’s a lovely place if you want peace and quiet away from the tourist frenzy.

Prachtige ruime en goed verzorgde kamer ( type balzaal ). Wij hadden de Deluxe Villa Met uitzicht over zee. Het complex ligt buiten het stadje (zo’n 15 minuten loopafstand). Geschikt voor mensen die goed ter been zin. Erg attent en vriendelijk personeel Speciale vermelding voor de 2 dames achter de receptie Genoten van het ontbijt aan het strand En het relaxte sfeertje Wel mogen de vuilnisbakken en asbakken vaker worden geleegd. Maar dat is dan ook het enigste minpuntje

Beautiful accommodations, settings, view, beach etc and lovely comfy beds. Did not like showering and washing face in slightly salty water

Very unique and creative place. Cottages nestled in the trees connected by footpaths. You should be in good shape to stay here, walking up and down the paths is not for physically challenged. For us it was totally worth it to have the privacy of our suite and the beach. The beach there is the best part of the resort, and better than any resort we stayed at in Thailand. PhiPhi island is a magical place. The only downside is those damn long tail boats they are so loud. Breakfast was good. Air con was fine. Staff good and helpful.

Great location. While the hotel itself is in a very quiet area, it's a quick 15 minute walk to get into town. We enjoyed having the option to relax on our peaceful beach, or to hit the town and all the great restaurants and bars. The only reason for the 4 star rating is the air conditioning. We completely understand the importance of saving electricity, and like all the hotels we visited in Thailand, it's your room key that gives you electricity, including the air conditioning. Seeing as the rooms are individual huts (very beautiful), there is no central AC like you would have in a big hotel. The result is an unbearable hot sauna every time you get back to the room. We left the windows and patio doors open with the screens closed to try and keep the place somewhat cool, but there is very little wind, and every evening we were melting as we tried to get to sleep. Throughout the night, the air conditioning would eventually cool the place down, but only after several hours. I know this isn't a problem with the hotel, but I think it's important to point out for those who do not endure the heat so well.

The room was good but did not have room to put clothes or luggage. Bathroom needs to upgrade. Love the area but the noise of boats was terrible.

Hotel was amazing, great breakfast with sea view. The staff were so friendly and we had the boat to go straight to the hotel from the pier as soon as we get there

Logística pessima. Até tínhamos ciência, mas o hotel ajuda muito pouco a dar suporte nisso, não conseguem taxi boat para te levar ao centro. Na primeira noite, não conseguimos jantar pois após 21h não tinha restaurante nem taxi boat, e o centro precisa de 30minutos de caminhada até lá. Na segunda noite, pedimos a recepção ajuda com taxi boat com quase 2h de antecedência e mesmo assim nao O hotel pedia um depósito de 1000baht no check in para as chaves e em nenhum momento falaram isso antes do check in.

They are trying to get your money be careful. 部屋は素晴らしい場所にあり綺麗でした。 ただ、スタッフが自分の小遣いの為に値段を多めに取ってこようとするので注意。 取るならもう少し上手く騙して欲しかったです笑 例として、 1.サップボートの値段を100バーツ高く案内された。（後にオーナーに聞いて高いと判明） 2.チャーターボートが3500と聞いて次の日乗りに行こうとしたら3800と言われ昨日と違うと言ったら3500で良いよと言われた（信用出来なくなりとなりの浜で感じの良い人BAOさんに出逢いしかも3000でした） 3.マヤベイに行くには外国人は400パーツ掛かると言われたけど実際は200だった。 以上、部屋は良かったけどもう泊まらないかな〜小遣い稼ぎ全然良いけど取るならもう少し上手くやってほしかった！ 部屋は綺麗です！部屋によっては眺めもかなり素敵です！！ 夜ご飯は全然美味しく無いです！ スタッフはほとんど微妙で、サップのオーナーだけはニコニコで良い方でした！！

De locatie was prachtig maar de service was heel slecht, zeker voor de prijs die je betaald. Het personeel was niet beleefd. Heel slecht geïnformeerd en de prijzen van bv een boot veranderde per dag. Bij het uitchecken moest ik opeens ook het water uit de koelkast betalen, terwijl er werd aangegeven dat je dit vanuit het hotel krijgt. Weinig hulp bij het dragen van tassen en ook niet gevraagd of alles beviel. Zou er niet meer terug gaan.

The hotel was lovely and so was the room but getting there was very hardwork. No information was given to us about a longtail being at the pier to get there which was crucial info. We checked the emails and the website and it doesn’t state that anywhere. But I just want to stress the staff and hotel and rooms are beautiful.

This hotel was really good. It’s scenic, offers many amentities, but is wuite far from town (we walked 20-30min to and fro each time). My review will primarily be about the hotel’s service though. In the first room I stayed, the AC didn’t work. We think it started working but broke some time while sleeping. My friend and I were miserable and woke up in the middle of the night. We brought our concerns to the hotel staff and they gave us a bigger and better room that also came with free breakfast. I have no regrets staying at Viking Heritage Hotel

O resort é muito bonito, decoração linda e rústica, quarto muito espaçoso e confortável em meio à natureza. Nossa estadia foi muito tranquila, funcionários muito educados, a praia particular na frente do resort era a cereja do bolo. A localização é um pouco mais afastada do centro comercial, o que pra nós não foi um problema, pois a tranquilidade de estar mais isolados compensou as caminhadas. Para quem estiver chegando, sugiro entrar em contato com antecedência com o resort para que eles se organizem para te buscar no píer sem necessidade de pagar um barco à toa.

Det är svårt med boende på phiphi. Man vill ju varken bo mitt i ”stan” eller för långt bort på longbeach. Viking är precis mitt emellan och enligt mig bästa läget på phiphi om du kan promenera utan bekymmer. Dessutom har den en egen supermysig strand med fint vatten så du behöver inte ens gå till longbeach för ett härligt bad. Om du är villig att betala för läget så är Viking bäst. Vi var dumma nog att boka ett rum utan ac. Det fanns ju fläkt och det funka med värmen. MEN rummen utan ac är inga bra o fräscha rum. Det känns som dom behöver en REJÄL uppdatering om dom ens ska va i bruk? Så boka med ac och betala vad det kostar

Die Lage war toll, schön ruhig und doch in ca 20min Gehdistanz zum Trubel des Hauptortes. Schöner kleiner Strand vor dem Hotel. Unser Zimmer hatte alle Annehmlichkeiten die man braucht. Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal.

The grounds were so beautiful and amazing. The photos don’t do it justice. Our cabin was spacious with an unreal view. I highly recommend!! Easy to get into town by walking or by boat.

This was just what we hoped for. Our room was small, but that was okay. We had sea views and a little private balcony with a hammock. You’re right in the jungle, which we loved. The walk to town is fine, when the tide is out you can go all the way along the beach. Scope out the “inland” route in the day before trying to do it at night! The resorts beach is beautiful and Long beach is a very short walk away.

Es war die perfekte Auszeit für uns. Wir waren als paar da und konnten dort richtig entspannen. Das Frühstück war grandios. Ich würde sofort wieder dorthin reisen.

Me and my wife got serious food poisoning after diner in hotel restaurant. We spent 2,5 days with high fever 39,5 C.! At 4 am I woke up a stuff member in reception, where he was sleeping. Asked him to call a boat to take us to the hospital. He was not happy that I woke him up, very sleepy, said to me that it is impossible (?!). After a few minutes he agreed to call somebody and charged me double price. My wife was in such a terrible state that I had to carry her from a boat to the hospital. After 2 days straight from hospital still with cannula in my vein I came back to check out from hotel, my wife was still in hospital. I was ask to pay for my last diner even after I said we are in a hospital after that meal. And for 2 bottles of water from room (even with fact that we missed 3 breakfast...). We made a mess in the toilet when we got sick, after 2 days it was still dirty and not cleaned... Room the same. Dirty tables in restaurant. 1 waitress was speaking English in a level to communicate well, all the rest terrible or not at all, including reception. Check out was 27.01.2023, lady in reception started laughing when I said we spent last 2 days in a hospital... Terrible experience, first time in my life and I travel a lot. Avoid this place if you don't want your holiday change to a nightmare.

Lovely resort in beautiful location. Breakfast a bit chaotic. Chefs on their phones & not happy to have to make food. Dinner was fresh fish barbecued. Delicious however it came with nothing but a salad garnish. Would’ve expected some rice or vegetables with it. Not too eco friendly. Too much single use plastic.

Resort is in a great location, it’s rustic and a great little private beach. I would stay again, breakfast isn’t the best but edible.

Me and my wife got serious food poisoning after diner in hotel restaurant. Half an hour after meal both of us started vomiting ang got diarrhea. It was so serious that we moved to the hospital where we spent 2,5 days with high fever 39,5 C.! After just 8 hours after meal we were so exhausted that couldn't stand or feet. So at 4 am I woke up a stuff member in reception, where he was sleeping. Asked him to call a boat to take us to the hospital. He was not happy that I woke him up, very sleepy, said to me that it is impossible (?!). After a few minutes he agreed to call somebody and charged me double price for transfer to WorldMed hospital. Anyway, all transfers by boat to town are not for free, you need to pay in reception what is not ok in my opinion. Other option is a 30 minutes walk across the rain forest with wild monkeys, very dangerous after getting dark. My wife was in such a terrible state that I had to carry her from a boat to the hospital. After 2 days straight from hospital still with cannula in my vein I came back to check out from hotel, my wife was still in hospital. I was ask to pay for my last diner even after I said we are in a hospital after that meal. And for 2 bottles of water from room (even with fact that we missed 3 breakfast...). We made a mess in the toilet when we got sick, after 2 days it was still dirty and not cleaned... Room the same. Dirty tables in restaurant.
