Clerk was pleasant on check in. Nice looking in an old family run motel way. Parking is a bit scarce.

The location is convenient but the bedding had small stains and the room next door was connected by 2 doors on the side of the room and offered little sound insulation. The neighbors weren't even that loud but you could hear even regular conversation clearly. The ice machine in the hallways also popped very loudly at 15 minute intervals.

Large room with kitchenette, fridge occupying about half the table, plenty of space, just a bit off the Main Street and a little quieter. No elevator to second floor. Good value.

The small suite with kitchen and desk was perfect for me. I like the location and it was easy to drive and park.

Older hotel with large, clean rooms. They close and lock doors at 9:30 p.m. The price includes a limited, basic breakfast. It was a comfortable place to stay, about 5 miles from the ferry.

Very dated fixtures, stained carpets and towels, smelly rooms, absolute bare minimum breakfast, most unhelpful desk clerk James. We wanted to cancel and go elsewhere, but since booked through Expedia, we were stuck. After seeing 3 rooms, we chose the one with the better looking bathroom. Bedding was clean, but very flat pillows. Toilet and shower worked well but bathroom sink was plugged. Lady front desk clerk (Virginia?) was very helpful and said maintenance man would fix it. This was done and stale smell was improved, but not gone. We asked front desk clerk James to treat the bathroom and kitchenette sinks again, hoping this would fix the smell problem. He said he would, but did not. We gave up after that, and will never stay at Anaco Bay Inn ever again. Ever.

Much room for improvement. The reception desk closes at 10 pm--an important aspect that was undisclosed on the website. We were driving a distance to get there and it was a race against time to make it at 9:58pm. Lockboxes are not provided for room keys (apparently they get broken into!). Also, the bathtub was not draining. We only had to spend a night...made it work. The hotel has a charm from the outside but much left desired for the storybook experience it sells from the look of it especially for the price they are charging.

The hotel is in a good location and was very accessible. The facilities are a bit dated. The mattress was an older spring style. The bed cover also seemed dated. The room was large and quiet. Parking was ample and convenient.

I would not stay there again. The TV didn't work. The ice machine was broken. The hotel was run down. There was no hot water. And the hotel smelled bad.

Staff support was good! Continental breakfast was a joke. Not good at all. Our room contained a broken down recliner. Foot rest was broken in the middle and would not fold down. Back of it would not stay upright, used wall to rest it against. Hairdryer would not stay in bracket, kept falling onto counter, and power outlets would not hold your charging plugs. The ice machine was broken, came back to the room past the ice machine which apparently decided to disperse ice non stop and created a huge pile of ice on the carpet in the hallway which we immediately reported to staff. They did clean up everything and turned off the ice machine in short order. The TV volume could not be turned down. Find a better hotel for your stay.

Perfectly convenient location. Spotless accommodations. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a more quiet motel.

The place wasn’t as advertised. Very outdated and poorly maintained. TV remote didn’t work, beds were 1980s stock with bumps and low spot. Smelled musty and moldy. Stains on carpet and sticky floor gave me the creeps. Several outlets didn’t work and the scum in the grout joints was disgusting. Advertised breakfast did not exist. Barely enough to get by single ply toilet paper. Without a doubt the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I can go on but you get the picture.

The sheets were dirty, we got new ones and then the mattress cover was dirty. We took that off and it looked like a crime scene on the mattress. Don't hope for wifi as it hardly works. TV has a lot of channels but unfortunately they are infomercials. They had an excuse for everything including telling us that the previous tenant's washed there own linen...not. You have been warned and I am 30 years in mattress and hospitality industry, don't stay here.

We had sugar ants in our room and in our bed. We called the night manager and asked to be moved to another room but they said they were full and didn't have any empty rooms. We had a terrible night's sleep and no one offered to reimburse us.

The only decent thing about the Anaco Bay Inn is the location and room size The rest is severely outdated and needs a total renovation. The carpet in our room had holes in it and could use a good vacuuming around the edges. The sheets I’m sure were washed but stained along with the mattress cover, but the bed itself was OK. We had an old purple couch in the room that looked like it was left in the rain and was dirt stained and under the cushions was disgusting…..there was no way we would even think about sitting on it. The little kitchen was OK, but we found potato chips behind the microwave which suggests minimal cleaning. The continental breakfast was terrible, with only 3 small bagels, 4 thawed Eggo waffles, yogurt and cold coffee. The people that came in, looked around and left disgusted saying there was more to eat in a vending machine. There are better places to stay in the area and I would suggest staying some where else.

We stayed in room 205 when we walked in, the carpet smelled a bit like dirty feet. I looked up, and the ceiling fan was absolutely coded in gray clumpy dust. Also, it had a kitchenette, and the hot water handle on the kitchen faucet spun around without turning on any hot water. I was also unable to locate the breakfast the next morning, and there was no one at the reception desk to ask. We left without eating.

It took almost an hour to get ahold of the manager to tell them about bed bugs in room 210. At first he said there wasn't another room available nor wouldn't refund us since we used the bathroom. I got in the phone with my mom and told her everything. I yelled bed bugs and health department and that's when the manager of the hotel came out. Then all of a sudden there was a room available. We paid $110 for a bug invested bed. He had us check out the other room and there was no bed bugs or anything. He upgraded the room to a kitchenette which we didn't end up using. Not to mention I'm 9 months pregnant about to have a baby.

The mattresses really need to be changed to newer ones. Current ones are old and dent in the center of the beds. Not comfortable to sleep on.

The room was okay. There were two heating systems, a very noisy gas fireplace and heat/cool system that was noisy, too noisy to sleep in the same room with. Only 1 blanket.

Tiny little tv (24") in a big room. Carpet old and stained. Staff guy is nice. Other than that its just fine.

Hotel needs refurbishing desperately! Beds provided no support at all. Holes and tears in the sofa. Just very old and tired!

The hotel was old, living room chairs were very old very lumpy and uncomfortable, tv was smaller then a car screen, water was drippy in tub. Cost far exceeded the quality of the room. Has potential if owner put hew furniture and tv in, update kitchen

After a long drive to the area we stopped for a late dinner. At about 9:40 pm I recieved a phone call from the manager telling me I had to check in before 10 pm. This was not stated in hotels.com so I told him that. We were 25 min away from the hotel. After several phone calls back and forth he told me the night manager would let me in but I had to be there by 10:30 pm. It was 9:55 at this point so we had our food packed up and arrived at the hotel in time to check in. He gave me the key without any instructions as to where our room was or what the key was for. (Turns out it was for both the outside door and our hotel room door) As for the room, it is very run down with old furniture and old kitchenette. I wanted to make coffee in the morning but I found the pot was dirty and there was a dried up coffee bag in the basket.

Was kept awake for hours because the management staff were arguing loudly! Everyone staying at the hotel lad to hear this for hours. Really unbelievable

This is an old place with outdated accommodation. Dark, dingey hallways and rooms-filthy carpets. Furniture in room unsightly. On check-in, unfriendly worker behind dirty glass window only opened window an inch to pass paper or receive credit. Understand if it’s a safety issue, but the office door from hallway was wide open! Breakfast was unappetizing. For the price-high season in Anacortes-not worth this price at all.

I walked into the lobby like 5 minutes before they close. I had missed the last ferry. I had other issues also like the lack of any of my debit cards. The couple that run the place were So so kind, helpful and accommodating. Everything else was pretty good as well. I'll be back under much better circumstances. !

The owner was extremely kind. Moved our room downstairs when she let us know there wasn’t an elevator and it was clear we wouldn’t be able to get everything upstairs.

We loved the Inn and Sid at the front desk really made our evening when we arrived sooo late. Our room was comfy and I slept wonderfully

I’ve stayed here many times. The property is a bit dated but comfortable. Location is excellent, clean, and quiet.

Very nice location in Anacortes. The room was well equipped and spacious. Some items need to be replaced or fixed, like the cold water facet was not working and the fridge was leaking but not bad. Could use extra blanket as it gets cold overnight. Overall, a good stay.

Reasonable rates, convenient.

We had a super quick and easy check-in and even faster check-out! This is exactly the cute, quaint and charming water town motel you’re looking for. Not walkable to downtown but easy drive and parking wasn’t hard, even on a festival weekend. We loved it!

Very convenient to the Ferry. There is also a wonderful chowder bar just across the street. Very quaint.

Quiet, safe, convenient

Overall our stay was fine. The room we ended up in while old was clean and the bed was comfortable. When we checked into our first room and the refrigerator was full of leftovers from another guest but they immediately moved us to another room when I brought it to their attention. It advertises free breakfast but it only consisted of bagels and bread for toast. Location was fine. Our only other con was the lighting outside is not good making it difficult to see when entering the property after dark.

The hotel hasn't been updated since the 80's. Uncomfortable bed, small TV, sugar ants in our room, tiny bath towels and the kleenex dispenser was empty. The continental breakfast didn't open until 7:30. The price was reasonable but the accommodations were only fair.

It was very quiet. The staff was helpful. There really wasn’t any selection of food for breakfast. Sweet rolls, cookies, doughnuts, or bagels or English muffins would have been nice.

Didn't like that wash basin in bathroom would not drain. Didn't like that milk at breakfast location came out the bottle in lumps. Did not appreciate nonchalant response at checkout when commenting on short comings.

The Anaco Bay Inn in Anacortes, Washington, once a high-quality iconic hotel has been neglected by its new owners. Despite receiving numerous awards ten years ago, the hotel has failed to maintain its standards. The rooms are spacious but have outdated kitchenettes, inoperable faucets, broken countertops, and cheaply lined electric stoves. Upholstered furniture is out of style and worn, and hotel linens are stained and impervious to laundry. Light fixtures are often non-working or missing bulbs, and electrical outlets barely hold plugs. The ventilation fan in my bathroom was in need of replacement, and the shower diverter in my room was noisy and unsealed. The heat lamp was burned out, and the hair dryer hung precariously from its broken wall mount. Some advertised fireplaces are inoperable. The continental breakfast is meager, offering weak coffee, bread, frozen waffles, and cereal. Juice and milk are served in open-mouth carafes. The new owners lack the ability or interest in basic renovations or proper maintenance, raising questions about their qualifications in the hospitality industry. Unless you’re looking for a low rate, avoid this tragically declined hotel.

The rooms were as expected for the price. The listing was inaccurate, however, because it had a continental breakfast wirrten as an ammenity, but they did not actually offer this. The person checking us in did not tell us about this, and in the morning there was a small blank piece of paper covering the continetal breakfast sign with no information on it. There was no one at the front desk at 8 a.m. (breakfast was supposed to open at 7:30) to give us any information. When the from desk staff did arrive, they told us the coffee machine was broken, and this was the reason for no breakfast. The listing should be updated to reflect that they do not actually have a continental breakfast.

The area and room were great but the breakfast was sorly lacking
