Centrally located, but there is really nothing to do in the DT core. Poor dining options in the area. The hotel was clean enough, but it’s in declining condition and needs modernizing. Adding a fridge, microwave, and smart TV to the standard rooms would be a good start. The elevator is terribly noisy. The water closet is confined and i needed to stand beside the toilet to shut the door. The shower was cold and took 5 mins to warm up. Staff were decent, but it was about a 1/2hr to check in because they messed up the booking. The hotel has potential but there are better options in the area.

Well no one likes to be checking into a room for 250.00 and hearing the couple beside you complaining of finding bed bugs in their room, and more then one. I was told to prepay 15 dollars for room incidentals. Why was this not part of the fees or given back after we left? Then being told the hours the pool is open, which is one reason you stayed at this particular hotel only finding out 30 mins later there is a sign on the entrance saying it is closed due to rennovations. And you can see the clear water, the heat in the room from the heated pool, and no reason for it to be closed. Staff were friendly. When I went to check out I was told i could not get a receipt, because i booked through expedia. So if you, like me needed it work expenditures be aware Holiday express, won't give or help you get it

On arrival after a long drive was disappointing with our room at booking, it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned dog fur on carpet and kleenex. They did give us another room. Someone should be spot checking the rooms.

Everything was great, but there was hair on the towels and pillows. Maybe the person before me booked for two days and didn’t come back the second day so the room looked done and cleaned. Maybe it was just from the dryer.

Hotel is very run down. Elevators were so loud (grinding and screeching). Rooms were not so clean, found dried vomited between one of the beds and a night stand. Furniture was all scratched and marked. Carpet was ripped. Fire sector was hanging from the ceiling. On a positive note: Staff were friendly and prompt. Breakfast bar was well stocked.

The staff were professional and polite. The excessive noise was dealt with quite quickly when brought to the attention of the front desk at midnight. The bathroom did have mould in the shower and the sink did not drain properly. The rest of the room did appear to be clean. The portion of the breakfast that should have been hot was cold to lukewarm at best.

The service at the hotel was very good . Hotel next to highway....so very loud. My biggest complaint is that I booked a room with a walk in shower because my wife just had surgery on her ankle and was on crushes. Not impressed that when we booked into Holiday Inn they had none available. NOT COOL!! NOT GOOD!! NOT IMPRESSED!!

We booked 4 rooms of the same types of rate. Two of which were next to the elevator and the room size were only 2/3 of the other 2 regular rooms, and there were no fridge or microwave oven comparing, and also noisier because they faced at a busy corner across from the gas station. My room was changed after speaking to the front desk, but one of the couple was quite upset to the experience of staying at that Holiday Inn location The next morning breakfast were pretty good. The staff were friendly overall 👍

The room was beautiful. Staff were welcoming and helpful. If I were to describe what I didnt like, I would mention the staff may have been too helpful. While sitting in the lobby I heard the desk clerk give out a room number to someone who said they had a friend staying at the hotel. I know its easy to give away that information but I would consider teaching the staff to call the room to confirm the guest is welcome. There is no elevator key card security for safety, anyone can go up. Front desk should ensure guest safety by calling the guest.

The property was great but my review is based on my check in experience. I paid for the room through Expedia using my visa/debit. We made the choice recently to get rid of our visa. Everywhere we purchase online accepts the visa debit anyways. We went to check in and they requested a visa for any damage. I said I don’t own a visa. Asked if I could give them cash or my debit. No to both. Wouldn’t let me speak to manager. No manager around. It was a Saturday and there wasn’t any banks open to get a credit card and we were five hours away from home with three little ones in the vehicle waiting to check in. They told me there was nothing they could do and the reservation would have to be cancelled. Luckily someone else offered who was in the lobby to put it on their card. A $15 holding fee would be applied and whatever charge the hotel decided to put on if there was damage. There wasn’t of course. Just a family weekend with young children. This sort of stuff should be disclosed at booking not when put in my situation without any other options. They weren’t very friendly about third party booking (Expedia) and said this sort of stuff is disclosed if you book through them.

We had problems with our room when we checked in. There was no bedding on the pull out couch, no phone, the TVs didn't work and the toilet flushed on it's own. Despite being very busy, the manager tried to fix everything and then moved us to a different room.

Staff (5) smoking in front entrance that we had to walk around. Breakfast staff ,female grumpy and not helpful . The hot water was very cold for making the oatmeal and staff she was put out when we asked for help with the pancake machine.the furniture was run down ,scratched, and alot of torn chairs. Not up to standards of the many Holiday Inns that we stayed at.

As soon as we parked we were greeted by a crackhead named Pheonix. A known “regular” by the front desk personnel. Pheonix will ask you for water or money and will even follow you into the lobby eventually asking front desk personnel for water which they provide him and then playfully shoo him away. We were assured he was harmless tho. Also, the hotel only accepts credit cards. No cash, no debit credit and they don’t let you know about this ahead of time prior to checking in. So if you had a long, 7 hr drive to Timmins, you are looking to check in at around 11pm, and you do not have a credit card you will be turned away. Thanks holiday inn!

Clean, fresh smelling and warm room (windy, cold and blustery outside at the moment) Location is excellent. Close to a lot- Starbucks next door, Mike’s restaurant up the street, Petro gas station across the street, close to Shoppers drug mart, Tim Hortons, Wendy’s, Metro, banks, etc.

Room: nice layout, comfortable *issue with many house flies in the window- maintenance handled right away, offered to live us to another room but the room was great just needed to remove the flies. comfortable bed as always Parking- Free, no problem finding parking Breakfast- good and plentiful with hot and cold options Staff- courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. Hotel under renovations but it did not impede our stay.

All in all it was good except for breakfast, they ran out of white milk. I asked if they would get me some and said they wouldn't have any till tomorrow....WHAT ? I then said that this was unacceptable as there are children here who have no milk for their cereal and I have no milk for tea, what is going on here ? A big hotel chain like Holiday Inn and no milk for breakfast ? The hostess then said she'd go ask, she came back 5 minutes later with a few cartons, unbelievable I thought that I had to say something in order for the hotel to act on this ! Other than that the breakfast was fine and the stay was alright, kind of soured, so to speak. I hope this doesn't repeat for future guests !
