Had to ask for soap for hand washing and was given a soap smaller than a half dollar. The hot tub had a a heating problem and we couldn't use it for three days. We brought it to the attention of the front desk on the first day, second day and third day. Parking lot where Oaks Hotel had an area for the dogs was not well lit at night. Very scary as homeless were next door and across the street - wandering, sitting and watching. Vagrants were seen several time in the parking lot - front and rear. Did not appreciate not being able to take food out of dining room to my room as my husband is disabled and not feeling well. Only good thing about our visit was the breakfast and the dining room staff. Food was great for me, but not my husband! Spoke to them about the food in room policy and my situation. They were very helpful, but would not allow me to take any fresh cooked food to my room due to possible spilling. They provided paper plates, but no bowls for cereal. Therefore, I could only bring baked goods and fruit. Very disappointing! Hotel should have provided covered containers/boxes to accommodate all guests. Overall, I would not stay here again.

Lots of pros and cons with this place. First the pros. The location is excellent for a wine country excursion, right off the 101, minutes from downtown and a lot of wineries. The rooms were quiet and the wifi is excellent. As for the cons, the surrounding area is a bit sketchy. Saw a lot of homeless around the surrounding businesses. Also the property itself is a bit dated. There was a weird smell coming from our bathroom drains. They do have breakfast, but it's very very basic. Overall not a terrible place to stay for the price but it could use some updating.

Checking in was fast and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. This is our second time staying here and I am sure it won't be our last.
