Convinient downtown location, valet & self-parking on-site in the basement, renovated rooms, good in-room dining service, and friendly staff. However: 1. There is no breakfast option ("The Corner" restaurant serves only brunch/lunch/dinner menu. 2. It is impossible to get reservations at the rooftop bar The Edge. 3. The reception lobby is undergoing renovation for a redesigned lobby bar. 4. There is a mandatory $25 resort fee per day which is not mentioned when you make the room reservation. Overall good experience. 4 out of 5 stars.

This was such a great hotel! Really enjoyed our stay and the staff was amazing. The pool and gym were really good, and the room itself was comfy for our 4 day stay. Only thing that could be better was the cell phone signal which you couldn't get unless you went to the window, or paid for the wifi

Great pool and spa

The place was very clean and staff was always super friendly and helpful. Food and drink options were great. Lots of walkable options or a short Uber ride. Pool was the only thing that was kind of lackluster. The pool often looked cloudy, was unusually warm, and was definitely overpacked. If you’re only going for the pool make sure there isn’t a convention going on while you’re there.

valet parking during holiday takes forever to get your car back. i would have self parked.

Pool was awesome and enjoyed poolside bar! Couldn’t get enough of the rooftop bar! Staff were super friendly and hotel is beautiful!

Nice facility with extremely nice and professional staff. The only issue I had was the shower water pressure was very low. For this size hotel also, the pool was pretty small and jammed.

Parking situation was unacceptable to wait 40 minutes to enter the valet line.

1. I’ve stayed at the hotel before, and now there’s a $25 a day resort fee that needs to be communicated at booking. 2. The main hotel bar is now under construction and will be closed for several months. 3. Staff is always amazing!

2/3 of the lobby is walled off for reconstruction of the lobby bar.

The hotel was in a great location. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was nice but I noticed the bathroom counter top was not clean. The shower walls also had soap scrum.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Staff was wonderful, everything was clean and just an overall wonderful experience!

There were clothes left and it made me feel the room was unclean. When I took them down to check-in desk they chuckled. The shower didn’t drain. The phone charger next to bed didn’t work and my phone was dead the next day - my birthday. When I arrived the parking was difficult to enter due to large rids in front. When I left the gate did not operate and no help arrived. I an a disabled vet and had to go into the hotel for help. I paid the full price and it ended up being a sad 70 birthday!! No one called about my complaint for my aug 15,16 th stay.

Dirty, rundown, no maintenance.

The pool is really nice and the hotel is just beautiful. Our room was clean and stylish , pretty spacious too.

Great location and the pool was phenomenal. However, the hotel is definitely a bit run-down. Our bathroom lights didn’t have lamp shapes on the bulbs. The top sheet kept riding up the mattress revealing big yellow stains. In room dining is a bust — food was cold and not much to offer. I ordered an oatmeal and it didn’t come with fruit, brown sugar nor milk. I think this is mainly a management issue. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay in Austin.

I have been to the JW more than two dozen times here. This was the first time i had issues. Something was wrong with the hot water in our room which was a little disappointing. No pressure to the hot water so the shower was lukewarm even at the highest heat. The shower was also a combo shower, tub with a fabric curtain rather than glass so the quality here was lacking. Never been in this type of room here but they should not have it.

The room and interior of the hotel are excellent. Parking is easy, but you have to get around the valet line to get to the garage. Minor issues - noise from constantly running staff elevator and old TV with weak speakers.

We booked a king room that was a bit larger than the usual room and it was plush! Very quiet even though we were on a lower floor. Dining options were great and it was located in a very walkable part of downtown Austin— very convenient. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

The hotel was nice with fast friendly staff. Valet parking was fast and prompt, but very high. Hotel bar staff friendly and attentive, especially Brandon. Room was clean with no loud doors slamming or voices in hallway. Will not be staying here again. The cost of the hotel was very high so expect a small refrigerator in the room for the cost. Only one ice machine on 5th floor was very inconvenient. This is just a pet peeve of mine so in the future will chose a hotel that included a refrigerator in room. Too hot in Texas to not have cool drinks conveniently accessible.

I loved the pool and my corner room with city skyline view.

For the price of the property, we would expect a refrigerator and microwave in the room. We didn't have anywhere to store our leftovers and ended up throwing a lot of food away. We were also told that wifi would be free but they tried to charge us for it. Thankfully, we had joined the Marriott Bonvoy club so the charges were waived. The restaurants and lobby bar were great. Location was awesome also.

The rooms were clean and spacious. The window size and view incredible. The pool never felt crowded.

Room was so nice and cozy! The bed I could sleep in forever and don’t get the started on the shower. I could have showered for hours! That shower head was sooo good! Also being a gold member, we automatically get a 2p checkout and a tall drip coffee from Starbucks (on the 2nd floor) ! Everyone needs to stay here just once and you’ll be coming back ! Also, the restaurants and bars around are so great!!

The water pressure in shower was not good and the water temperature in shower was not hot.

Great people, Great location - under construction so that was a bit of a turn off... also the elevators could be heard from rooms within a few doors away, so be sure to get a room down the hall a bit ;)

Excellent stay overall. For example, when we reported the bottle filler filter needed to be replaced, they did it! Appreciate their attention to detail! A++++

Everything was really good at this hotel the only reason I put a low star is because the night before I had to leave I asked the front desk to make sure my room key that works as a parking pass as well works because I had an early flight the person said we are all set. The morning comes for me to leave and I'm stuck at the gate for almost 35 mins trying to leave and almost had me miss my flight

Hotel was nice and staff was great. Ac in room was not working good. Parked my car with valet when I got home noticed my car was damaged talked to valet and they denied my claim because i had left property will never be returning here

Check in was a mess. It took three front desk attendants and two managers to find my reservation. We were compensated with a $40 restaurant voucher, which was a nice gesture. The next morning my room got a call from a front desk clerk who said that my payment method for the room (which I prepaid) did not cover the full amount for my stay. It did, I had the receipt. But the clerk insisted I owed another $300-500 (the number changed a few times). Spoke to another manager who confirmed my room was payed for but couldnt explain where the clerk was getting their numbers from. Other than that initial headache the stay was nice. My room was quiet, which is impressive since my stay was during SXSW. The restaurants are overpriced, no surprises there. Burger Bar was the most reasonable and consistently good.

The friendliness, the willingness to help for anything. The personal attention that each employee gives to their job is seen. Fantastic stay, Thank you!

I had a really rough experience. The valet was most unkind. I had arrived late with no time to unload my vehicle or stand in the long check-in lines prior to my event there. They told me to just call for my vehicle and I could unload it later and send back through valet to the garage. When I did circle back, the agent told me they were really too busy with a very important event and I would be given my key to go there myself and unload it myself and walk back to the hotel with my bags and no assistance. I was furious! The manager comped my valet but when I called for my car the next day, the rude attendant acted like my ticket was wrong and said I had the wrong numbers and I didn’t know what I was talking about. She also tried to charge me $60 for the valet. She was so incredibly rude and condescending. Strangely, at 8:45 am that morning, maid service knocked on my door and the man told me I needed to check out by 9:00 man I told him no, it was at 11:00 am. He insisted I had to checkout at 9:00 am. I put the privacy sign on my door and told him I would call a manager, then the male maid began to change his line and said instead I needed to checkout between 9:00 am and 11:00 am. It was infuriating!! My room keys continued not to work during my stay and I had to go back and forth to the lobby several times to have them rekeyed. It was definitely not a pleasant stay. I was most surprised that the staff behaved the way they did. It was no mistake. They must behave this way.

Beautiful hotel but service was not what I expected from JW. Self Parking was also $54. Check in took a long time and staff was hard to understand and not trained well. Manager had to step in and help. We called housekeeping to ask for an extra pillow and blanket 2x over 3 hours and it never showed up. Pool was nice. Great margarita. Not sure I would stay there again with so many other choices.

We couldn't have imagined a more perfect stay. Everyone we encountered was so nice and helpful. They seem genuinely interested in whether you are having a perfect stay. We recommend the JW Marriott in Austin highly. It is convenient to all the fun in downtown Austin. We were going to see a band at Austin City Limits, which is only a few blocks from the hotel. It was perfect.

The hotel was wonderful. We visit Austin once a year, we love the city, however, it is amazing the number of homeless spread all over downtown, it is pitiful, something needs to be done right away. There are many places to visit in the USA and abroad, if they do not care for the tourists, we do not mind to go somewhere else.

This is in the heart of Austin. Took food tour starting across the street. Ebike tour 1 mile away. Walk to the river and "bat bridge". Perfect for exploring Austin

It was good but parking is expensive and lot of homeless around. Hotel is in very nice condition, rooms comfortable and staff is excellent!

Great stay for July 4th weekend! Check in was pleasant, love the location, walking distance to 6th street, Starbucks, steakhouse, cafe, rooftop bar, lounge, pool… this hotel has it all for a great family vacation!

This hotel is an absolute must when you are in Austin. Staff is incredible, pool is amazing , deans steakhouse has the best gun barrel filet that I have ever tasted in my life ! Do not look anywhere else

I was here for a conference in the hotel so it was convenient. Dining in the hotel was expensive but there are alternatives nearby.

Great stay over Christmas. Staff were all so professional, pleasant and very accommodating. Excellent food options in the hotel and nearby. The pool, SPA and gym are fantastic. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much for an excellent experience and Happy New Year!
