Greeting upon arrival was atypical for a hotel, in that there was not a welcome or how was your trip, or anything. Construction was going on and our room was directly affected. I was told they would stop for the day but they didn't so had to go down and ask for it to stop, which after a conversation it did. The restaurant has luke warm reviews online and when we went in, I can see why. Overall presentation is lacking. We went to Sparkys Sports Bar instead. Door on unit was very hard to open and when we mentioned it, they said all the doors were that way. To be honest, Port Hardy as a town is run down and this hotel may be one of the better of few options. At least there is a nice view and it is convenient for the ferry 10 min away.

Beds were hard but not bad. Property was clean and quiet. Lobby is under construction and no elevator when we went. We had third floor. But we were okay with stairs. No air conditioning and rooms can get hot at night but other than this it was great stay.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Glen Lyon and was impressed by how clean the room was - bathroom, carpets, furniture, bed all spotless including the sliding glass doors and balcony area, which looked like it was completely scrubbed and clean enough to wear just socks. The exterior of the property could use a power washing (don't let this discourage you from staying) but the desk staff did note that task was in progress in addition to some renovations to help refresh the lobby area and exterior signage. A really good stay in a comfortable, clean room.

This was a nice hotel overall with a spacious room that was very clean and had wonderful harbour views. The checkin staff were so friendly and welcoming, the morning checkout staff were much different, they were unfriendly and not helpful - 2 very different experiences but maybe they were having an off day. With the combination of the checkin staff, the rooms and the great food at the pub, we would stay here again.

The first room the sink backed up with black scum. 2nd room the bed linens were clean but it had a odor, carpets out side the rooms were filthy and when we went to the dining room the glass door was covered in dirty hand smires. Upon entering there was raw chicken sitting on a tray as we were handed the menus they were dirty and i had to leave due as I felt that the food maybe unsafe due to the unclean nature of the whole building.

We stayed here twice either side of a ferry trip to and from Prince Rupert. Largish rooms with balcony and seating to enjoy gorgeous sea views. Great for watching sunsets and sunrises and the wildlife. All amenities fairly basic but good sized fridge and bathroom. Comfortable bed and reasonably quiet. People stay here before catching the ferry so there is some noise early on and late at night with people arriving and going but generally not a problem. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful which must have been hard at 5 am and near midnight. On site restaurant was good and the chef made a special meal for my vegan daughter. Staff there also great. It’s a little way out of town so ideally you need a car. Adequate parking. Highly recommended

Friendly staff. Definitely would stay again. Only negative is that despite the description mentioning an onsite cafe, it was closed and a sign said it will not reopen.

Check in & out was quick & easy. Staff is friendly. The beds are comfortable & the bathroom was clean. Our Keurig was having an issue & I called the desk & she came immediately & got it working & brought us extra coffee. We had a view that was a nice feature. I would stay again if in the area.

We spent 2 wonderful nights here. The staff is extremely friendly and super happy to give you information and tips about Port hardy and its surroundings. The hotel is very quiet, cosy, confortable and clean. We would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

Pulled into the property and wanted to leave right away. The exterior looks like it is falling apart. Yes, they are doing renovations that are long long over due but it is in rough shape. The woman checking us in after a six hour drive was quite unfriendly and made mistakes. She overcharged me initially and had to issue me a refund and then do the charge again. She sent us to the third floor with keys that didn’t work. Had to come all the way back and she didn’t even apologize. Finally got into a hot room. Went back downstairs to ask about the AC and she responds there is none. Open the slider. To which I respond the slider has no screen and the birds will fly in and she just shrugged her shoulders. Again no apologies. Very rude. Do not stay here. Looks like a newer property next door. Try that.

Loved our stay - great staff at front desk, room was ready an hour early. Clean and quiet and great view. Not particularly close to 'downtown' Pt Hardy in terms of walking but certainly do-able with a great seawall path. Good value for money.

I liked the water and marina view and it was pretty walkable once past a couple of properties. From there, there was a path and sidewalk, and it was about a 20 minute walk in to town.

The rooms are spacious and have lovely views over the marina and water over to mountains in the distance if they weren’t swathed in clouds. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room was clean and functional. Restaurant staff went out of their way to make a vegan meal for my daughter.

We booked the Glen Lyon based on the restaurant and bar facilities and were told upon arrival that the restaurant and bar were not available. We could not find a restaurant in town that was open so ended up eating snacks that we had. The room was lovely and the bed was comfortable and it had a spectacular view.

The view of the harbor right outside our window was wonderful! We enjoyed a trail beside the bay that starts at the hotel. The only issue was that their restaurant is closed indefinitely. It would have been helpful for our meal planning to know that ahead of time.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nicely updated and comfortable. Slept well. Loved watching the harbour activity from our balcony, including pilot boats, float planes, fishing boats and the tide coming in or going out. Coffee in the lobby at 0500 was a nice touch- would have like better quality though. I still needed a stronger coffee later. The restaurant had good food and nice views of the harbour. We got there early and got a window table but by the time we left, people were waiting. Overall nice experience and will be back.
