The room was great - we had a nice view of the river. Location was excellent - close to restaurants, Avon theatre, shops. Staff provided a great dinner recommendation our first night, and the wings we had in their restaurant as a late night snack the second night were amazing. Will definitely go back. Note: if you have mobility issues this isn’t the place for you: lots of stairs, no elevator.

Great place in the centre of Stratford. Room was nice, staff great. No issues. Only thing I would warn about is that is all stairs to the rooms, no elevators. We were on the floor immediately above the restaurant, its 3 flights of stairs from the parking entrance. So if stairs are an issue for you this is not the place for you. We however thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great location, good room with Jacuzzi in room(if you like this kind of thing), also shower in bathroom. Good restaurant with great patio out front, only thing - now parking is an extra $15.00 per night, used to be included.

Very accommodating to ensure we were able to check in on Christmas Day. However, since there was no one physically there we were charged for parking although it wasn’t used. Check out times are very strict, someone knocked on our door right at the door 11 AM. Great location and extremely convenient.

Obviously, not having an elevator is a drawback. The rooms we had were lovely, but the street noises and lights can get distracting. The location is perfect for walking everywhere so I guess it’s the trade off. Awkward and small staircases for walking with suitcases. Not good for elderly but awesome for able-bodied people. The convenience of having the bar downstairs is nice for a drink, and the room sizes were really good. I would stay again just for the location.

Parking was not convenient especially with inclement weather. When we arrived we were told the room we booked got mixed up and were offered 2 King rooms instead of the Queen room we booked for our weekend away (we did not want to stay apart). Although we were offered complimentary breakfast it was an inconvenient situation. There are narrow stairs to climb to get to the rooms so the hotel should offer complimentary bell service. Although the rooms looked to be recently renovated the carpet on the stairs leading to the room floors had a funky smell and needs to be replaced. The location to the Main Street in Stratford is lovely but won’t rebook for the reasons listed above.

This is a perfect location for a Stratford trip. Walk to Avon and Tom Patterson theatres easily. We were a bit underwhelmed for the price. Shower gel was empty in the shower. No Kleenex in room. Stairs going up to the room were dirty. For $400 a night this bugged me. Food at Mercer is awesome though and reasonably priced.

Very friendly and helpful staff; very nice restaurant on the ground floor. Room was ok but needed maintenance as some of the baseboard tiles were coming off in the bathroom. Spacious room. Air conditioning makes the room humid, unfortunately. Main flaw is that we were on the third floor and there is no elevator. Staff was kind enough to help get our bags up there, but walking up and down a rather dirty staircase to get to the hotel is not optimal.

Lovely historic property conveniently located in the centre of Stratford. The staff were amazing from the moment we checked in to the time we left. No elevators but we knew that we when booked. Rooms were spacious but need to be refurbished especially the outdated bathrooms. No usb ports for charging. Beds were really comfortable. One big downside was the room needed a good cleaning especially the floors. There were hair balls in corners and hair stuck on shower curtain and other items but really the staff, location and restaurant (which is amazing) made us overlook the negative.

Great location in Stratford. My room was clean, comfortable and quite spacious by hotel standards these days, where 'cozy' can be the size of a broom closet. The hotel has a groovy kind of retro vide, great reno! My room was tastefully done, comfortable and didn't scream HOTEL. I appreciated the hard floor as carpeting in a hotel room can be dubious at best. I had a spacious king bed that was very comfortable, lots of pillows. Big tv, easy to use, bathroom was also very nice with appropriate amenities and spotless.

PROS: Great, clean, airy room that is centrally located in downtown Stratford. It is near shopping, restaurants and The Avon Theatre. CONS: lots of stairs - if you need a room with 2 beds, it's on the 3rd floor. No regular TV in the room, had to stream from IPAD,/Phone, don't know if that's normal or if cable was not functional. Small front desk inside restaurant downstairs is unstaffed overnight.

So the staff are really good at this hotel but a number of issues came up. No door on the Bathroom other than the toilet and shower. Light controls on the outside of the area with the bathroom and shower. First room we were put in had the exhaust fans from the Resturant downs stairs going and sounded like a jet going when we got back to go to bed. They turned them down but had to wait until 11:30pm for them to be turned off. They allowed us to change rooms for the next night but that should be taken care of. All in all I wouldn’t stay there again.

The staff were amazing - very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was tasty and had a varied menu. The room we had was clean room, comfortable King bed, recently renovated bathroom was new and shiny and clean. The room lacked charm and warmth but had all the required amenities. Weird fireplece design in our room. I would go back but try another room. There was a huge AC or similar machine for the bldg beside that rumbled most of the night.

Would look for other options in the future. Convenient location. Apathetic service. Cheap decor/furnishings, but also expensive in the area. The bar/restaurant was loud until late which would not make it a good choice for light sleepers.

The staff were incredible! From check-in to departure everyone had a smile and seemed to genuinely care. The room itself was lovely. The only suggestion would be that housekeeping need to spend a little more time snd attention when cleaning the room.

From the moment we entered to the moment we left - everyone was friendly and made sure we felt welcomed. When Brooke noticed my cane, she moved us to a lower floor so I wouldn't have to walk up so many stairs. Food was fantastic and we were always asked if we had time commitments, knowing that many people had theatre tickets. Well done all around.

The hotel is located on the main street of Stratford. Even though it's a busy street the hotel room was very quiet. We stayed on the 3rd floor. The hotel has an excellent restaurant and is walking distance to theaters, shops,bars and restaurants. Parking is also located on the property.

Cute little hotel! Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Only complaint was the size and location of the TV (small, in the corner of the room), but that’s a very minor issue. The Mercer restaurant is fantastic! The food and beer were amazing, I would definitely recommend it. The hotel and restaurant staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, we had a nice and relaxing time and would definitely return!

We stay here regularly. Mercer Hall is perfectly located, with cool rooms and lots of dining options. The breakfast on site is excellent. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

This is lovely place right in the heart of downtown Stratford. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic. It is in the middle of the downtown shopping district and close to the Stratford Avon Theatre. One caveat is there are only stairs but we expected that.
