The entire place is in total disrair. Broken pathways dangerous stairs falling apart. The pool was dirty and the jacuzzi was not working. The private beach charging $25 for a chair. No towels for the beach only for your room. No towels for the pool. The entire hotel lost electricity for the 2 days i was their. Luckily our villa had light.

Muy bonita el área del mar, las vistas, el que te dejen recistarte en los camastros y camas del club de playa, ricos alimentos y bebidas, Limpio. Lo que no me agradó es que la alñberca tiene el agua muy fría y que cerraran muy temprano el restaurante, Buena pantalla en la habitación, tranquilo, sí puedes descansar.

I Didn't like the property because there were a lot of steps and I had a bad knee. They had no elevator.I had to climb two flights of steps;also the WI. Fi was terrible. The bathroom wasn't that clean? The sliding door in the room didn't lock. I told the front desk and the person that came didn't fix it. He left it open. Didn't feel safe in the room. Way too expensive for what I received. It definitely wasn't worth what I paid. A total rip off.

The two bedroom was very spacious. Wish the water pressure in the shower was better but great stay. The included breakfast was good with big portions. Wished the jacuzzi was hot. Especially during the fall months when we want to get in the Jacuzzi

We love this hotel its very quiet and safe Also the spa is outstanding, getting a massage by gaby is a must she gives a therapeutic massage that is unique

We booked 3 nights for my partner’s birthday. As soon as we checked in, we had to request a different room because the room we were given has no air conditioner. Bathroom floor is wet. Big post blocking tv when watching from bed. No phone to call front desk. Went to front desk and was offered to upgrade to the Jacuzzi room for additional $66 for a night. Took the offer. Filled jacuzzi with water then turned on jets. OMG! Black stuff came out of the jets. Fortunately, we haven’t gone in the tub yet. We drained it and spent a good hour cleaning it. Filled it up again and turned on the jets. The same thing. We didn’t get to use the jacuzzi so the following day, we complained and demanded a refund of the $66. We were told they can’t do it in their system and that I just have to file a dispute with my credit card, which is what I will do. The bad experience didn’t end there. They moved us to a different room. This was our 2nd day. But right after we moved around 10:00 am, power went out. We thought maybe it won’t last long but when we came back in the evening, there was still no power. They moved us to another room where there’s electricity, our 4th room already by then. The problem was that their wifi wasn’t working since the power outage. That meant no internet and no tv because their tv relies on an internet connection. So for 3 days, we had no internet and no tv. They also give you free breakfast but you can’t choose. We ate chilaquiles for breakfast for 3 consecutive morning.

The location was great. It has amazing beach access and a fancy restaurant overlooking the water. The pool is very small and the hot tub wasn't working. The rooms are very outdated. For the price you pay, i would have expected a much nicer room. Service was excellent.

Staff members were nice. Place had a secure parking place. However enjoying the tranquility of hearing the ocean waves and the view our of our room. Exactly. We did not eat at the restaurant because we want to explore the area however the bar was not bad at all after our day out. We will return to this place again.

Horrible, en el hotel estaban remodelando una banqueta justo en frente de nuestra habitación, no dejaron dormir los golpes que daban a la banqueta con el marro fue mucho ruido, tuvimos que dejar el hotel muy temprano y las toallas manchadas y los cojines de las camas muy sucias. No nos reembolsaron ni siquiera 1 dollar.

Been staying here for years. The rooms are not the best but the view is stunning. Rooms are very outdated for the price. This last stay, my room was a bit dirty, i saw hairs all over the place including sheets and a roach near the headrest of the bed.

La verdad no como se ve en las fotos , la limpieza del cuarto era muy pobre , aparte las inconvenientes del baño y el agua de la ducha no salía con presión, el agua caliente no era apropiada . Necesita algo de mantenimiento el lugar

Great place to stay, but my suite wasn’t that clean, no towels, no cups for the coffee

Rentamoa varios cuartos y faltaban toallas en dos de ellos, un cuarto solo dejaron sabanas y sin cobija. El baño olia muchisimo a coladera y se impregnaba todo el cuarto. Habia mucho polvo y se veian un viejas y descuidadas las instalaciones. Hicimos reservacion por 4 cuartos y uno se nos entrego casi hasta las 5pm y eso que fuimos a preguntar al lobby pero ellos habian quedado de avisarnos cuando estuviera lista esa habitacion y nunca lo hicieron.

The first room we got 311 was dirty and maintenance lady did not believe us, it was not something to discuss. We got another room 304 in better condition but not fully cleaned.

Our room was dirty looked like sheets had not been changed and had an unwanted visitor (bed bug) on our first stay notified staff and they went and took the sheets and cleaned while we were gone removed the mattress from the room

Disgusting and Unsanitary Room! We arrived late and exhausted on our first night and went straight to sleep. The next morning, we were horrified to find that the blanket, sheets, and pillowcases were covered in nasty stains. The hotel provided only one set of bath towels, which were also stained, and informed us that they “do not provide hand towels.” The website advertised a fully furnished room with a mini bar (fridge), but there was no fridge at all. This was a major issue for me since I am currently nursing my son and specifically booked this room for that reason. Additionally, the room had only one outlet, which was extremely inconvenient. The AC/heater was another hassle—it either made the room freezing or unbearably hot. We reported all these issues to the receptionist, providing photo evidence, but all we received was an apology. They claimed the hotel was “fully booked” and couldn’t offer us another room. The poor customer service, combined with the filthy conditions, made it impossible to stay another night. We checked out a day early and will never be returning.

The room was dirty limited excess to beach coach was dusty and fool of stains, and you know what kind of stains!!!

First room that was assigned to us, the T.V.Wasn't working then the second room they gave us there were roaches in the room. The towels had holes in them.They were all stand as well.The sheets from the bed

Great location, great service, wonderful food. But it is clear this hotel could use some update and renovations. There was no heat or AC in the room and the doors made a horrible sound when opening and closing. Also we could hear the people above us very clearly, furtunate for us they went to bed early!

Great stay overall. Staff was nice. Although i think the room could use more lighting (once it got dark room seemed dimmed). Breakfast options were good. I was expecting bagels/cereal/coffee pancakes they had homemade breakfast options

Room are outdated . Need to be updated prime location but the room killed the ambiance. Bathroom can use an upgrade simple fix for the amount $ they make .

Had to change rooms twice, the first one no ocean view, second ac was broke and the third room tv was not working, stayed in the 3rd room was Tired and gave up

We checked in our room and it was terrible no heater. It looked old and not taken care of too well then they took us to a second room which at least had a heater and it was a little bit newer. The shower had lukewarm water only the only good thing about staying here is the view of the ocean. It is beautiful Small bar nothing special, but the restaurant is beautiful and has a great view of the ocean.

So many pros and cons about this property and stay! Overall, we had a nice time, staff were all kind and helpful and very hardworking! The facility needs some help and things between the Sunia side and the Hotel side weren't always clear. Pros: Lovely location, wonderful people. The property was beautiful, very picturesque, the beach access was delightful but steep stairs to get down. The included breakfasts were freshly cooked to order, we never opted for the chilaquiles, but the eggs and ham with fresh veggies, beans and tortillas was plenty of food. The restaurant views were lovely, great cocktails as well. There are a couple restaurants and shops within walking distance, totally worth checking out! Good to Knows: The rooms were simple, no hooks or places to hang towels, no wash cloths, but generally pretty. Our door opened up to the 1st floor yard which we loved. The Sunia beach was often occupied by cruise tour groups, had all the beach chairs, toys, loud music etc, whereas the hotel beach has no tables or chairs to use but was much more quiet and peaceful. The pool was nice, but closes early, and the hot tub was out of order. The bed was not bad but had an uneven frame, we crammed some tissues under a corner so it didn't rock every time we moved or sat down. Cons: The hotel is generally run down. We had no hot water in the shower (5 nights!), it was reported, but never fixed. Rules for the Sunia side weren't clear, some days they let us be there, some not.

No hot water or water pressure in the showe, very very disappointed with the hotel. Had to take cold showers was not happy at all. They couldn't give me another room. I'm looking to stay somewhere else next time.

On weekends it would be best to have more than one front desk worker. Had to wait 35 minutes to get checked in.

The politics and customer service felt very uncomfortable besides the room was not ready they do not give us the room until 3: 15 the door knob was all broke like somebody before us tried to brake in in the middle of the night my gran sought her got locked in the restroom because the door knoob was broke from inside an she can not go out until me grand son week me up to help her

George is the number one reason my service is so good. He went out of his way to provide me whatever I needed or requested. Generally, this meant he stopped what he was doing to get me extra towels, give directions to shopping, insured I had great seating at their wonderful restaurant did it with a smile. He seems to be a great guy in general. I highly suggest when you come here ask for George. The hotel is a gem, antiquated but well kept. I wouldn't be surprised if it is 200 years old. The view is breathtaking, hotel is on the beach, so is the hotel restaurant. They are doing some renovations but are managing it well. Thanks to Georgia my stay is going great.

I booked for anniv. Then 2 days before checkin, i received a cancelation notice,because they tried charging me before hand. Even thou i opted for pay @ hotel on arrival. I had an ocean view room. I spoke to a rep and was assured that my reservation was still good ,so i paided the nxt morning. I was later contacted , that the room was no longer available after i had already paided for room?! They worked with me and later gave me the beachhouse for same rate. Good for that. But no oceanview at all. Whats the point on having the option to pay on arrival. They stated that it was their process to charge 1 nights stay before the stay. Which isnt stated on either hotels.com or castillos del mar website. Very unprofessional. Had to carry luggage about a block from car. When the original room was within steps🙄. Im not picky, but this kind of ruined my anniversary plans! But since it was 2 days from event i couldn't find anywhere else. That being said. The service was slow. And seemed a bit unorganized on the part of the waiters. Ive been to other hotels in the area, and the service was alot better. The food wasnt excellent also, and was $$.Not to mention the beach access is basically paided access. Ive never complained about a place ,but this place needed some better organization. Almost ruined my whole weekend. Basically your paying for the view.

I’ve stayed here before and I have always enjoyed my stay! This last time was a little less pleasant. The staff wasn’t as friendly as they normally are. My friend and I went to the bar at the resort multiple times and each time we went we waited like 10/15 min before we were greeted/acknowledged. One of the mornings I had coffee there and there was a lot of grounds at the bottom of my cup. It was gross. The only thing that saved this trip is the location of the resort… the views are absolutely amazing here.

When we checked into the hotel we were told there was no tv service, and since football is important to all of us, we thought about going on to Ensenada, but a VERY nice young man named Christian offered us a home near to the property for the price we had already paid. It was a lovely place with a great view, and we enjoyed our time there very much!

Esta es la quinta vez que nos quedamos en este hotel, lo que nos gusta es tranquilidad, la cercanía con el mar y la seguridad que se siente Qué es lo que buscamos cuando pensamos en Rosarito. Lo que no me gusta es la inflexibilidad del personal. Cuando llegamos me informan que la habitación yo la reservé para una persona lo cual sí creo que haya sido mi error. Cuando menciono que éramos dos me cobran $25 por noche más lo cual sumaron a 100 creo que pudieron haber hecho alguna excepción, Pienso yo… Llame a Expedia para ver si podían ayudarme, pero según me dijeron. No pudieron comunicarse con la gerencia del hotel, al mencionarle esto a la recepcionista. Su respuesta fue como que yo mentía al decirme que no ha recibido ni llamada ni correo electrónico.

Staff had excellent customer service. They had security on duty all around the clock which made our stay feel really safe. WiFi was on point. The breakfast included with our stay was amazing. I’d recommend this place 100%.

Me he quedado aquí más de una ocasión, y siempre busco este hotel, pues me da la tranquilidad que busco la cercanía con el mar, el acceso al mar privado y la seguridad de el hotel, Adicionalmente quieren ayudaron en la recepción muy profesionales, muy atentos y aún caminaron conmigo para asegurarme que era la habitación que yo deseaba, seguramente merecen un aumento o reconocimiento por su buen trabajo. We stayed here several times & we like the location. The hotel is on the cliffs with a spectacular view from the patio. We love the location. The restaurant from the Sunio Beach Club is very good. Yhere are plenty of good restaurants around. It is only a short drive to Rosarito downtown.

Great view from the nicely air conditioned room of a nice beach. Good restsurant on site with seversl others in walking distance. Nice, attentive staff.

Safe and walk distance to the ocean

We had a great time staying at Hotel Castillos Del Mar. Our room had a patio with access to the back of the hotel with a great view. The only thing I would suggest them to do is update their locks on their doors. They seem old and outdated as well as their patio doors.

Complimentary breakfast was awesome as was the property itself. Great location as far as the views. The neighborhood was a bit seedy. Internet was fine as was the bed. Our room was a bit sparse as far as amenities. The overall vibe & the sea views cured all ills. It’s a mom & pop shop & they’re well staffed & they care. I’d go back!

Everything was great, views , room and all BUT…….. the only thing is that for the free breakfast they will give you same EVERYDAY IT WAS Delicious but not everyday other than that it was great!

The hotel is old, the rooms even the newer ones are not great. The great thing about this place is the private beach area. The free breakfast is very good. They also offer a free pizza at the restaurant during the week with 1 drink purchase.

Food was a bit pricey and not so good.

Eye catching view , wonderful breakfast brunch options for friends and family definitely recommend oh don’t forget the free coffee also…!

Loved it all. Great restaurant and bar. Breakfast was great, enjoyed the machaca and the chilaquiles. Great staff and facilities were accessible and clean. I’d love to return. The beach is beautiful and private.

Awesome views! The restaurant view was beautiful as well, but the food, lunch, had no flavor. It looked pretty but no flavor. However, the breakfast was good.

Food and drinks were delicious! Bartender on the upper level makes the best drinks and very attentive I believe his name is Enrique :)
