Arrived after 11 pm had to get out of my car twice to get them to open the gate. Then after checking in no help to find my cabin… drove around for ages trying to find my cabin.. the lighting was rubbish so couldn’t see the room numbers at night. Staff seemed unwilling to help

Great space in the villa bedrooms and bathrooms! Very clean as well and has all the amenities you need in a room. Golf course also great! Only issue we had was using their lifts to get downstairs from their main lobby to restaurant area, and how the walk way outside of the lifts were blocked with their stock so this made it hard for us to push our disabled nephew out. Overall a good place even for kids

Sweet golf resort 40 minutes from Central Auckland. Andy and his staff are great, the villas have nice views of the water, restaurant chef and food are top tier, and the golf course is challenging, but a lot of fun.

Stayed the night after a 21st party that was held at this resort. It is so convenient. The next day my husband went out for a golf session with our son and a friend. Breakfast is nice for just $30 not a lot of choice but just enough. Would come back again

The place was really nice. Quite big and quiet and comfortable. The only things wrong is the water pressure is terrible and the hot water didn’t stay hot very long. And the driving range was closed. Great staff though. And the food was great at the 19th hole.

Our first villa had no mattress protector and just a sheet over the mattress. Whilst I understand this may not be a requirement - when I pulled the sheet away, the mattress was stained that I refused to sleep in it. Reception was so lovely & offered to shift us into another room after acknowledging that they do use mattress protectors. Our villa was then upgraded but again - another bed without mattress protectors. I had to request one be put on our bed in the end, the bed was not comfy, the couch was stained and the bathroom could have been cleaned better. The restaurant was overpriced and food was below average also. Golf course however was beautiful, with great views.

Room was very light and airy and bed was clean and comfy but the bathroom floor was dirty and very dated. The living area curtains were sitting on the floor and were covered in mildew. The sofa was comfortable on one side and rock hard on the other. The restaurant food was nice but the menu was very small.

Couldn't get into our room until after 4pm. Service was unhelpful and dudnt follow through with a curtousy call to say the room was finally ready after 4pm. Room was dirty and hair on bathroom floor, bath, an shower. Wow for what we paid ... you would have been better at a back packers.

Nice big room with lovely view. Huge bathroom but the cleaning here needed more attention. Unfortunately we didn't get much sleep in the lovely comfy bed as we had noisy neighbours in the adjoining villa. We decided not to stay for a second night :(

We initially encountered a hiccup because the door of our room was jammed and we couldn’t get in. Eventually we were offered a new room and we were upgraded to a different room. Although the new room was clean, there were some cellar spiders around the room. Wasn’t a big deal for us - just thought that they weren’t expecting for that room to be used so it wasn’t really cleaned thoroughly. Overall, great experience. Love that it’s very tranquil. Will come back in the future.

Great space in the villa bedrooms and bathrooms! Very clean as well and has all the amenities you need in a room. Golf course also great! The room was spacious but desperately needing a refresh. Spa bath not spa and could pull out metal bits. Shower glass didn't look clean. Toilet glass door not fitting in properly so would clonk against the wall. Manhole in toilet area looked like it was starting to fall down. Air Con printed label instructions barely readable. Room was very cold on arrival. Patio furniture chairs were splayed out (pushed over) out on the grass on arrival.

The water in the room was Luke warm. The showers were always cold. And especially at 6am in the morning that was not nice. No hand soap, toilet brush was missing. Overall place was nice. But disappointed in a place that appears very up market that they could not afford hand soap or a toilet brush and also that has Luke warm water. Do better

Fine but very tired, the unit is needing a refresh (unsure if they're all the same in that regard) and some basic maintenance to be done. e.g. big mounds of weeds/grass growing in the gutters of our villa which clearly shows maintenance is being missed and for some time as that amount doesn't crop up in a few weeks/months. Light fittings missing, wet/musty smelling carpet and flaking paint on windows. It was a big room and a big bathroom with good shower pressure etc but the accommodation really did disappoint, overall.

A great stay, beautiful grounds and a great breakfast. Villas could do with a renovation now and you need to safely remove the swallows from the Villa front doors they make a real mess and will be very protective when their babies are born so could be a safety concern when trying to get in to your villa.

Stayed at the Rydges Formosa for 2 nights in the 2 bedroom villa which is actually just 2 interconnecting rooms so no actual separate lounge room. The accommodation itself is a bit tired and the rest of the offering isn’t particularly centred around resort guests, eg., I had to call reception 4 times before I got a hold of someone to come and unlock the door between our rooms to make it into the ‘2 bedroom villa’. Breakfast was a very basic buffet, on the Sunday so many things ran out and they were very slow to replenish. The only thing really worthwhile are the views out over the golf course and harbour - which were stunning.

Booked a room for four people but only towels for two supplied and insufficient English tea bags and coffee. Asked reception for more towels which did come very quickly. Paid for the breakfast buffet but cancelled it as there was very little choice and most items were almost empty - very disappointed.

Stunning views from our villa and restaurant/main building. Spacious rooms with gigantic luxurious bathroom. Bathroom was relatively clean but shower screen had some soap scum on it. Otherwise fine. Restaurant had limited options but the food we ordered was delicious. Buffet breakfast was okay, limited options there too. We went to breakfast late so would've been good if we could have our eggs to order, instead of scrambled eggs and hash browns that had probably sat there most of the morning
