Old City House Inn and Restaurant

Like many Hotels today, there are not enough hooks to hang more than one towel to dry. The sink in the bathroom goes with the decor but there is no place to lay out your toiletries. Very high tub and a wooden floor partition that is a trip hazard so not recommended for Seniors like us even though the location was right at street level and the Restaurant across the room. They only have 10 Parking spots so get there early and avoid taking the car out!

The staff was attentive at check in and friendly. It could use some fixing up. Had to wait until 9 a.m. for coffee. The stairs felt un safe to get to our room, but this is a very old building. The free breakfast was very nice! The best part of this location is parking is included, which is a biggie in this city. Would not recommend for families with children due to size of rooms, and the stairs. Very convenient to tour the city, which is why most come here.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. It’s nice that all the of the rooms are accessed from outside. Our doors lock was questionable but it is a very old house. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. It was very clean. I just wish the room’s temperature could be adjusted. It is central ac for those who care about that sort of thing. We were comfortable as there was a fan in the room. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location with parking and breakfast included. The breakfast was delicious in the charming dining room. The location was close to everything but just far enough away to avoid the noise and crowds. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We will recommend to friends snd family.

fantastic location right across from the lightner museum and flagler college, but we did have a problem with parking one evening when all the parking spots were occupied by other guests and some of the staff. also the room was a little frumpy with deferred maintenance and dead bugs in stairway.

Great please to stay . 5 minutes walk to everything is right next to the museum the Lightener A lot of beautiful things to do and many restaurants. The hotel includes breakfast very delicious I will totally stay again.

If you want to explore Saint Augustine, this B&B is in an ideal location. You can walk to pretty much everything. It is definitely an old building with a very small bathroom. We asked about staying another night but no one got back to us. The TV was broken. It only got one channel and when we called, no one responded to our request to fix it. The bed was clean and comfortable. The room itself was also very clean. There are no elevators so you have to walk up a steep flight of stairs. The breakfast was delicious. I understand the restaurant is very popular although we did not eat dinner there.

Our stay was great.. They even accomodated our fur babies.. Two dogs 40 lbs. We will be back!

The property was in a very good location and had parking onsite, which was great. The restaurant needs to be updated and could benefit from having some form of entertainment, at least on weekends. The bar also closes very early, which leads to having to find somewhere else to go for a late night drink. The rooms were up a flight of stairs which made it difficult with bringing luggage up to room, and there was no assistance for it.

Perfect location. Everything is walking distance. Private parking. Amazing bed linens and comfortable mattress/pillows. Breakfast was delicious. The staff is very hospitable

I stayed in the Augustin Room across from the restaurant. The check in process was fast but they didn’t verify my information etc. which ended up causing a problem. The afternoon prior to check-out, I attempted to verify my information and settle my account because I was leaving early. I was told by the woman at the register that she only works for the restaurant and she couldn’t help me but they have my information on file so all I needed to do was put my key in the drop box. I was called on my way home. They stated the card they have was declined?? This was upsetting because I don’t like giving my card numbers over the phone. I don’t feel their check in/check out process is effective and no one was available to speak with. My phone died because they had no usb outlets and their isn’t a phone in the room to call “the number on the door” The floors were dirty. I wiped up some water I spilled and when I looked on my paper towel it was extremely dirty. Everywhere on the floor I tested was very dirty. There were holes in the ceiling in the bathroom, no one checked in to see if I needed my trash emptied or any towels as I was there 3 days. It is a pet friendly hotel but has no designated area for pets to relieve themselves/dispose of waste. The only area is a parking lot. I had to search around to find a trash receptacle. I ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was delicious. For the price of the room I expected better service. The location is great.

We loved our stay at this very charming Inn. The room was clean, spacious with a very comfortable bed. We also had a great dinner at the restaurant as well as a delicious breakfast

Wonderful stay! The building is old so we understand the condition can be difficult to keep up. We did have dirty floors, so thought that could be better. Overall, a great stay and St Augustine is wonderful!

Very clean room. Very Quaint property. Excellent location to explore historic area. So many options within walking distance. Or hop on the trolley. Beautiful plate presentation on breakfast which was included in the room rate. We would stay here again. Only complaint was no coffee maker in the room.

Overall, this stay was nice for the one night we were there. The property is in walking distance to everything downtown and the ground give the historic vibe we were looking for. The staff seemed pleasant. However, check-in and out were strange as the office was closed and we had to knock on the bar window to have someone check us out. The rooms need some serious renovations and a good cleaning. The bathroom was mildewy and moldy around the caulking, and the fixtures were falling apart. The paint in the room was chipping and there were spots where holes were filled in but never sanded and painted down. I’d say if you’re just looking for a decent place close to downtown to stay for a short trip, this place does the trick.

Excellent location. Breakfast was large and good. The bathroom was clean but the floors, including the area rug were not.

Charming antique inn with clean, spacious room and modern bathroom. Cozy dining room and bar onsite. Easy walking distance to the whole historic district, museums, and shops. Onsite parking.

Overall it was a good stay. We would go back. However, parking is via an honor system and we did have to park on the street one night. Our room didn't have an AC control we could find, but did have a ceiling fan. But the temp was comfortable even in August. Breakfast is excellent. Location is excellent. No coffee in room but Starbucks is a hundred feet away.

The pros are the breakfast was 5 star fabulous! The location was fabulous and the property was quant. The cons are that The property is very old and the room was super small. The floor and whole room was not level so we felt like we were walking downhill io go to the restroom. The toilet was not sealed properly so it leaked and sometimes smelled like an odor was coming from the sewage. The shower had a curtain that was stained, we didn’t feel comfy to take a shower in the two days we were there. Wouldn’t stay again.

Great Location, the hotel is very nice (could go for a little upgrade) however the staff is very friendly. Check in was very easy, the breakfast was very nice, plentiful and delicious. The rooms are smaller than a traditional hotel which is expected for an Inn. The rooms do not have individual climate control which was disappointing and there was not a desk or place to use my laptop. Parking is available if needed and that is convenient. I would have loved an AM coffee station before and after breakfast.

Great staff, super friendly. Food was great, location top notch. Weird black specks that kept reappearing on bathroom sink, and bed was not the most comfortable were my only complaints. Solid choice for a stay in St. Augustine

The building is tired. Our room had a sliding door to the bathroom which didn’t slide easily and the shower door didn’t close. Also, the Wifi did not reach our room. Staff were very friendly and the food very good.

We stayed one night when the weather was rainy. The bedroom was lovely, but very small. I really missed having some sort of sitting area indoors where we could hang out. There were outdoor seating areas but nothing inside. The breakfast was lovely and the service was excellent.

We walked a few blocks to a coffee shop the first morning. There was some street noise and street lights that were hard to block out. Bathrooms could use updating.

Great place to stay! Clean, comfortable. A little worn and there is no elevator- so dragging two 50 pound suitcases up a flight of stairs was a little rough for senior citizens. Staff was all super nice! Breakfast was nice and Barbara our server was very attentive and friendly. We would stay here again. Location is perfect!

Juan and staff went above and beyond but especially Juan. We had a little hiccup in our room and within moments, Jaun made everything right and then some. He was so extremely friendly and helpful our entire stay. The staff really made the room a better experience. Great location to everything and great food as well.

The office was closed during our entire two night stay. When we arrived, our keys were in the mailbox. I had to call the number posted on the door to ask which room we were in. No communication whatsoever. I asked the waitress during breakfast the next morning what the WiFi password was. Once I left the property and returned, the WiFi no longer worked. Breakfast was very good, but I wondered why another table had additional options added to their breakfast that were not afforded to us. The room was clean, but the furniture was old and worn. The deadbolt on the door did not lock. The location was in walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and historical buildings.

We had booked for the wrong date, we called and they had no problems switching our days with no hassle. The place is near shops and restaurants, easy to walk around and not have to worry about driving. Breakfast was superb, I was not expecting a gourmet breakfast but that’s exactly what we got. I highly recommend this this Inn. We will definitely be back. We stayed in one of the small rooms, but this was still spacious enough for two people to be comfortable

Everything was perfect! Innkeeper Juan was amazing and always available if i had a question. Great location and restaurant was superb.

Pretty confusing experience. At 5:30pm on Saturday night, the front desk was closed and we needed to "check-in" at the bar/restaurant. I awkwardly sat on a couch next to dressed-up people enjoying cocktails while I was in my beach outfit waiting for the bartender to collect the room key. Unfortunately, the room was given to someone else who "talked to someone in the kitchen". However, they did have another room and were reassured that we were "upgraded". The St George room was roomy but no warm or hot water and bed springs were popping into our backs and sides. Parking is tricky but we luckily got a spot without trouble - I noticed others having issues and was thankful that wasn't me. I skipped the free breakfast since I was just ready to go - so I dropped my key off at the drop box. Location was a win since it was right next to Casa Monica hotel but for the price of ~$200-$250 a night, there are definitely other places to stay. The old building is gorgeous though! Customer experience - not so much.

We really liked this inn. It was quiet, private and friendly. The restaurant’s breakfasts which are included in the room price are fantastic. We ate dinner at the restaurant our last night and were glad we did since it is one of the top-rated restaurants in St. Augustine. I found the inn to be very charming. My husband would have liked something a little more modern, but I enjoyed its quaintness and personality. It’s also right in the heart of the historic district and walkable to anywhere! Very enjoyable visit. No one was there when we checked in, but someone came within 5 minutes after I called. Checkout was accomplished at breakfast where I was told the hotel would charge the credit card on file and my receipt would arrive via email.

The room we reserved was already occupied when we arrived. We had to settle for another room that only had a queen bed when we wanted the king bed

Juan and Barbara were amazing. They were very kind and accommodating to us on every way. The room was great, clean and very well maintained. The location was excellent to walk to everything. We would definitely recommend staying here.

I booked our stay based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. The included breakfast was excellent! The restaurant is open to the public for dinner so make a reservation because it’s definitely a place you want to eat. The rooms were cozy and comfortable. The staff was very helpful with anything we needed. Located in the historic and across the street from the Lightner Museum and Flagler College, it’s an easy walk to George St, the fort and many restaurants. We would highly recommend

Fabulous breakfast compliments of staying. They are open for dinner to the public and serve 5 star meals at reasonable prices. Each room has a different theme and all with clean comfy beds flat screen TVs and more. A no fault perfect vacation place to stay.

This is a beautiful historic property. It is period decor so very interesting and has a beautiful garden sitting area. The food in the restaurant is worthy of very special occasions. Rack of lamb is an ample serving and best you can find. AHI tuna is top notch and beet salad is terrific. Location cannot be beat. It is in the historic area and can walk to interesting sites as close as a half block.
