We absolutely loved staying in Alfama Lounge Suites. We stayed in the Superior Apartment, 2 Bedrooms and it was huge, clean and beautiful. Staff was slightly down the street but there 24/7 which was perfect when we arrived at the crack of dawn. They checked us in, took our luggage and gave us some advice as to what do and eat that early. The one draw-back to our room was it was down a wide staircase and there was no elevator, so not accessable." The hotel helped us get our luggage down but we carried it back up when we needed to leave at 3am to catch a flight. No idea if someone would have come help (probably they would) but we didn't want to bother anyone. Just thought that anyone with mobility issues should be warned.

場所は「Theリスボン」という風景に溶け込んだ場所でした。部屋は個性的で、好みは分かれるかもしれませんが、個人的には広々とした空間が大好きでした。エレベーターは無いため、大きなスーツケースを持参される場合は大変かもしれません。スタッフも強面な方も非常に細やかにサポートしてくれました。あと、チェックアウトが12時というのが何気に助かりました。朝食をローカルのお店に繰り出す上でも、一旦、部屋に戻って整えてからチェックアウトできるので助かりました。

We were not advised of the street closure which made it very difficult to transport our luggage to and from available taxis. For handicapped people, this was devastating.

The building is very old and it does not have an elevator so you have to carry all your heavy luggage to the top floors using the stairwells. Our room was very basic, but clean. Staff was friendly

Excellent service and super clean. Great view from room. We had an issue with the keys that didnt work but the manager fixed it herself by changing batteries. Some of the kitchen cabinets were broken, and the additional bed that we requested many time in advanced was not done and we had to sleep over the mattress for a night. There is no elevator nor phone to the reception, so I had to go up and down 3 floors every time I need to request help. Keep that in mind also if you are traveling with lagguage. Besides that, location is great, and the hotel is super nice. It just needs a little bit more manteinance.

Space was good but moldy odor and shower broke

Firstly, it’s false advertised as being a 3 stars hotel, as per the establishment’s manager (Alexandra) this is NOT a 3 stars hotel so they don’t have to offer the minimum of service that 3 star hotels have to offer. We paid for a twin room, for 2 nights, at a falsely advertised 3 stars hotel. As per the pictures I took, the walls were mouldy and the room was very damp. The shower drain was clogged so we couldn’t have a proper shower. When I informed the reception, the receptionist, Isabel (the brunette) moved us to an apartment to stay overnight as a temporary solution, and I thank her for that, she is the only reasonable person with a sense of what hospitality industry means. The next morning the other receptionist - Isabella (the blonde) made a big fuss saying that the room is perfectly fine and that the shower has been fixed and that we should immediately move our bags at 8:30 am. She also made it clear that I should be thankful that I got to stay for free in one of the apartments, which wasn’t for free, because I paid for a clean functional room, which I didn’t get to start with. Isabella’s attitude was even worse than the state of the room. She happily ruined our day. It was useless for me to complain about the poor conditions of the room, to her and also her manager (Alexandra) because their attitude was awful, extremely rude. We ended up paying an extra 48 euros to switch for another room with a functional shower and we still couldn’t check in straight away.

Chambre très propre. Logement très spacieux. Tout ce qu'il faut pour se faire à manger. Les personnes de la réception souriantes et très aidantes. Une machine à café Dolce Gusto dans le logement et nous avons pu acheter des capsules à la réception. Localisation parfaite pour rayonner dans le quartier d'Alfama et au-delà. Nous n'avons pas pris le petit déj, donc nous ne pouvons pas en juger. Néanmoins, nous avons pris un café en journée et il était délicieux. Beaucoup de commerces et restaurants aux alentours. Nous avons pu leur laisser nos valises après le check out pour se promener jusqu'au départ final. Je recommande les yeux fermés.

Our room was dated, some moulds in shower, aging walls, tram 28 going through.. bring earplugs.. good location

The property was exactly as described - we had a double room, and room and bathroom were spotless. Bed was comfortable and air conditioning was good. The property is located on the no 28 tram route (this starts at 6am and stops at midnight) not a concern for us but might be for some. Staff were very helpful. We found some really good small restaurants within 5 minutes walk of our accommodation. Would recommend staying here if visiting Lisbon.

Great location, with coffee shop next door. Room was quiet, clean but towel rack coming off wall, bulbs out in light and some water leak in bathroom Convenient location, with lots to do and see close by. Definitely would stay again

This was our second stay after a few days in Porto on our way home. Great staff and location. The fridge in our room didn’t work but not really a problem as we were only there 2 nights.

Nice hotel in Alfama right on the Tram 28 line. The room was spacious, but only downside was the shower was very small.

The suite had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a living room with couch, and a kitchenette with table. All this and still one of the best prices with only hostels being much cheaper. Great front desk staff also!

Struttura ristrutturata arredata con uno stile minimal. Le stanze sono grandi e spaziose. L’hotel si trova proprio di fronte alla fermata del tram 28, questo comporta un po’ di rumorosità nelle stanze ma comunque accettabile.

Rented a suite. Overall it was great, even a nice backyard area, great for relaxing. Only complaints were that the sofa is beginning to show its age, the TV screen was quite small and, like many places in Portugal, nobody thought about places to hang towels and garments in the bathroom. Still, it was nice, quiet and a pleasant experience staying in the historic Alfama area of Lisbon.

Literie très confortable,linge de maison douce et propre. La wifi marche très bien.le tram passe devant l'entrée de l'hôtel. Très tôt ou tard. Cela nous a pas dérangé.mais si vous avez le sommeil léger. On est libre pour l'entrée ou sortie par le badge. Le service pro.

The accomodations were good, the only issue is the loud traffic, especially the trams going up and down the narrow road. If using Google maps to locate it, it takes you close but not quite there.

We arrived at 9AM after a long flight. Check in time was 3 PM. As the room was ready, we were able to check in early. It was much appreciated.

The service here was super friendly - not just on check in but on other occasions I needed assistance, including after check out when I realised I hadn’t taken my items out of the safe. There is 24/7 reception coverage and as my room was in the main building, this meant it felt really safe coming back even late at night. Location wise, this is in the Alfama area which if you’re not aware is extremely hilly. There is a tram stop right outside, though think they stop relatively early. I mostly walked which was fine for me , but something to consider for those less able (and not just for this hotel but any on this area). This area has so many bars and restaurants that I think it would be possible to only go out near the hotel for a weekend trip. My room itself was clean, spacious, with a comfortable bed. I could hear the tram when it rattled past but didn’t disturb at all. Overall, I think I would definitely stay here again when in Lisbon.

First time to Lisbon so obviously I was blown away by this incredible neighborhood. This hotel is perfect for the Alfama neighborhood. I find most Portuguese very professional but not exactly friendly. The staff at this hotel could not have been kinder, including the hostess who literally talked on her own phone to a lost Uber driver for 45 minutes to take me to the airport. So also learn from that: go early to the airport. It’s third-world in most descriptions.

My wife is 72 years old now. She was falling down completely on the floor at the Lobby because of unnoticable coffee table BUT we did not have any words and help from the property.

The suite had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a living room with couch, and a kitchenette with table. All this and still one of the best prices with only hostels being much cheaper. Great front desk staff also!

If you really want to experience the heart of old Lisbon, this is the place to stay. It’s a little tricky being as the sidewalks are only 6 inches wide, and the tourist tram 28 runs right by the window. However, step out the door and you are in a different world probably that you’ve ever experienced, little alleys and stairways leading off all over the place and this area is definitely old and ancient. It’s amazing. It’s such a tourist area for being an old slum. Really enjoyed my stay, but I can’t say it would be for everybody. We never went on the tram because they look packed like sardines, and I would rather eat them from a can. We were there for the history and the Fado and we found both in plenty in between drinking espresso and eating many pastries. Our favorite restaurant and Fado house was Alfama grill. Walk and enjoy and go to the fado museum.

The location of this hotel is exactly why i booked it - having the traditional, famous tram 28 and 12 cruising right next to it. Of course there would be sound from the tram but i was not bothered at all, rather, I found it charming. The room was very clean, staff was friendly. However, it's hard to commute to the hotel with luggage because from train or metro station, there is only the unspacious tram and one route of bus (it operates with small coach instead of an actual bus). Suggested to get a taxi if you don't have tight budget, Bolt/Uber usually don't take the order to go up hill.

Good location in Alfama. Might recommend an inner room if possible, as the hotel is on the Tram 28 line and comes right under your window. It starts at 6:30 AM and runs til 11:00 or 11:30, so if you are a light sleeper, I would take note of this. The tram stop is steps away from the hotel, which is super convenient. Drivers seem to have a problem with the street address, so I would recommend that you put in Copenhagen Coffee Labs, Alfama store into Bolt or taxi. It’s right next store. If you like coffee houses then the Copenhagen Coffee Labs is a must see. Great pastries and coffee, set in a uniquely decorated cellar dwelling.

Hotel room is spacious. It is clean and tidy. The breakfast is not extravagant but the quality is good and as good as it can be. The tram station is just outside the hotel, very convenient place to stay.

We were delighted with our stay at this hotel. Our apartment was spacious, comfortable and quiet. The staff were super helpful. The location is great for exploring Alfama and is right on the Trolley line. Great breakfast buffet there and a wonderful bakery/restaurant just about next door. Good dining options and much to explore nearby.

Struttura molto bella, pulitissima, situata in posto strategico per visitare tutta la città: la fermata del tram 28 è proprio di fronte. Personale gentilissimo, colazione abbondante e buona.

La rue est étroite et il faut être prudent en sortant de l’hôtel. Personnel est gentil, le déjeuner est bien et les chambres sont grandes.

Les chambres donnant sur la rue sont horriblement bruyantes. Tramways plus voitures en continue. tout juste quelques heures calmes au milieu de la nuit. la douche ne dispose que d’un pommeau fixe au plafond, impossible de se laver sans avoir les cheveux trempés. nous avons demandé s’il était possible de changer de chambre, mais soi-disant l’hôtel était complet. nous avions commandé un petit déjeuner pour le lendemain, mais malheureusement la demande n’a pas été prise en compte. certains membres du personnel sont aimables, mais d’autres ne semblent pas concernés par la demande des clients. Si nous avions su, nous n’aurions pas choisi cet hôtel.

Great guesthouse in a perfect location. The tram runs right by, so if you're a light sleeper it might keep you up. I'm a light sleeper, but had no problem sleeping. There's a great coffees shop next door if you prefer not to have the breakfast at the hotel.

Great location (tram 28 stops on the same street, metro from airport red line to S. Sebastiao then blue line stop at S.Apolonia; bus 728 to Belem 15 minutes away by foot, miradours and castle 20 minutes away by foot; placa Rossio train station 30 minutes by foot). Clean, quiet, very comfortable beds, combo body soap/shampoo. Groceries store up the street, good restaurants (Portugues and Chinese food) at the end of the street. Safe area to walk around at night. 24/7 front desk staff very helpful/welcoming. Good breakfast for 8 euro and good WiFi connection. Pro: all of the above! Cons: none! Will stay here on my next trip!
