Budget hotel for premium price. The room was cheaply done. Felt like shipping containers. Wiring was all routed outside the walls. Bathroom was very small. A wet room with tile effect linoleum in the shower. Extractor fan in the bathroom had a thick layer of dust on it. No space to put suitcases. Paid about €400 for one night. Should’ve been €150, even for Icelandic standards. The staff was very nice. The food, dinner and breakfast, was amazing. Location is also very nice.

The staff was really wonderful and I can’t say enough about them. They were very accommodating and I feel bad criticizing because it isn’t their fault. Also, the breakfast was GREAT. However, our room was laughably bad. The room had a terrible smell, like a bathroom vent pipe was blocked. The bathroom had mildew and the sheets had holes. The floor creaked loudly when we moved or when the people in the adjoining room moved. To use the shower you had to step up over a foot into the unit. It was just not all that clean. If we had booked more than one night we would probably have left.

Staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was mildewy but just fine for one night on the way to Diamond Beach.
