Smarthotel Tromsø

Ok beliggenhet. Vet ikke om det er vanlig men bodde fra fredag til mandag og ingen rengjøring av rommet eller nye handduker. Kommer du med bil er det vanskelig å finne rimelig parkering i nærheten. Det gjelder vel i hele sentrum

Das Zimmer war klein, es war kein Frühstück dabei, und für das Auto war nur eine Öffentlichen Garage vorhanden

This was a one night stay until our other hotel, on the docks, was available the next day. It's a great little hotel for all the basics - the beds were comfortable, breakfast was good, water was hot and everything was clean. The location is really good and just a few minutes walk to the docks (but not the water and mountain view I was looking for). The room is small and for a couple you wouldn't really spend time in it rather than sleeping, because of its size, but there is a communal room downstairs with large TV and tea/coffee is always available there as well.

This is the basic Smart Hotel style. No frills, quite a lot of concrete, but clean, warm, good shower etc. The rooms are small and quite tight, but the bed is good. The breakfast was excellent, and I like that there were notices trying to get people not to waste food. The service was ok, I found the reception staff slightly reluctant to help and not very forthcoming which was a shame. No parking - you have to find the big underground car park. I didn't find it at first - the directions from the receptionist were not clear and ended up in a tiny, tight carpark where I scraped my car. Not the receptionist's fault, but better more helpful directions would have put me in a better place. Find the big one and stay safe!

It was fine. Parking is an inconvenience (I say that knowing I sound like a brat). There is public pair The space is clean and very basic.

Comfortable bed. Small room, but very adequate. Nice clean bathroom, and well designed. Stored luggage for free before we could check-in. Staff were OK and helpful when asked. Would stay here again.

The rooms are too small and they only have double beds so two individuals cannot sleep on the same bed. I slept on the floor. Not very comfortable. The door handle was broken and we couldn’t get in so they gave us another room and we had to move all of our items. Parking is sparse and very expensive.

Hatte ohne Frühstück gebucht, kann ich also nicht beurteilen. Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zimmer sind klein, es hat keinen Schrank, nur ein paar Haken an der Wand. Kaffee gibts ganztags kostenlos. Das Hotel ist gut gelegen. Man ist zu Fuss sofort im Zentrum. Für Kurzaufenthalte ideal.

Very functional, no superfluous luxury. Very friendly personnel, very good breakfast buffet. Coffee and tea round the clock and free of charge. Breakfast room open round the clock, to warm up, read, work or to eat your own dinner at night.

Everything went smoothly. Room was small, but as expected. Comfortable bed and very clean bathroom. I made use of the free tea and coffee available Location, great, just a couple of blocks for the main street

Hadde fint opphold, dårlig renhold rundt senga, fant brukt snuspose bl.a.

Det var veggdyr på flere av rommene, både i skap og sengen. Det lønner seg å sjekke disse områdene. Dårlig renhold med både hår og annet rusl i sengeklær og rundt omkring. Vi var en stor gruppe som tok inn på hotellet, og samtlige fant veggdyr på rommene. Noen byttet hotell og noen byttet rom. Hyggelig betjening som måtte ta imot all rom byttene, og prøvde å ordne opp i dette så godt som mulig.

Good location, clean and comfortable

Room was tiny but perfectly clean and efficient, and had everything I needed for my stay. Bedding was good. Staff was helpful and courteous. Breakfast choices were good. Walking distance to restaurants and downtown center. Felt safe in the neighborhood.

The room was comfortable and clean - very warm and cosy. The bed is quite soft and they gave me two pillows - one normal and one massive - which actually made sitting up and reading in bed very comfy. The duvet was quite thick for the summer, but that might just be me.The windows do a really good job of blocking out noise from the outside. I had a single room with its own bathroom - there was ample space for me. Yes, the towel rail is over the loo, but the rooms are compact so I am not really sure where else they would put them. My only complaint about the room is the lack of space for me to put my clothes. As I was staying for a week, I wanted to unpack and had to just stack all my stuff on the desk in the room provided. Not a huge hassle, just a thing. Certainly not severe enough to reduce the stars. Breakfast was good. Lots of variety, really nice fresh bread, and the staff were good at keeping everything topped up. For me though, the best thing was the location. It's really central with everything you need within a five/ten minute walk. I have read some of the comments about the lack of tea/coffee facilities etc. but that is clear in the room description so I don't know what people were expecting. Overall, I was really happy with my stay and would definitely use them again.

Elendig renhold. Fant hår i senga, både mange lange hodehår, og en haug med små andre hår. Flekker på veggene rundt senga, støv fast bakpå putene, døra full av fettete fingermerker og generelt bare ekkelt og uvasket med preg av dårlig renhold over tid. Fikk byttet rom da jeg klaget, og det var åpenbart at resepsjonisten var vant med denne typen klage. Nå fikk jeg et nytt rom med flekkete pute, tørket snørr på lampeledning og siden av skrivebord mot senga. Ekle flekker på veggene ved senga, og fettete fingermerker på døra. Løfta på overmadrassen, som var ufyselig og hadde vært tissa på uten å vaskes. Gikk for å klage, men da var det sånn kø og det som så ut som en hyggelig pratesamling at etter fem minutter ga jeg opp, for jeg var veldig sliten og skulle opp kl 05 og klokka var nå etter kl 21. Andre gangen jeg opplever hvor ekkelt det er på Smarthotel Tromsø, så nå kommer jeg garantert aldri tilbake.

The man in the reception was eating when I came to check in, took a while before he was done. Then he hardly spoke Norwegian, difficult to understand. Black old T-shirt and tattoos all over him. Room filthy and looked like a cell with cement wall. I know it is modern, but certainly not suitable in a bedroom. Location is good though and the price only half of the other hotels in Tromsö

Everything was fine except the extra blanket I pulled out from the drawer below the bed and it had BED BUGS… not cool

Lovely property. Super clean modern rooms and very comfortable bed. The rooms are small but you are in Tromso for the outdoor activities, not to stay in a room. This hotel is an amazing value for the money. Very friendly helpful staff.

Ask for soap bc ours wasnt filled they never stopped by. Room had 2 dirty tissues.tuckerd by the window along the bed. The staff wasn't helpful or engaged and the room wasn't comfortable (in addition to dirty) only good for a cheap stay. Location was the best perk for walking convenience

Room was a bit cold from the window. Small basic room Staff all friendly Breakfast extra. Buffet fairly good choice. Hotel conveniently located.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a great range of choices of breakfast food. The freely available water, tea and coffee was great. Unfortunately, myself and several of my travelling companions experience problems with plug sockets that did not work and sometimes no WiFi was available.

Ekstremt lite rom og en høy pris

First of all the hotel staff location etc are absolutely fine however you can’t get over the elephant in the room or more to the point the size of the rooms. The phrase you couldn’t swing a cat in here was made for this hotel the rooms are tiny. There’s no where to put your clothes to we ended up living out of the suitcase and using a floordrobe. You have climb over your partner to get out of bed and there are literally no facilities in the room at all. As I said the hotels fine but be prepared to spend your trip in what seems like a prison cell.

The room is clean, basic and very small. Hanging space is 3 hangers on a hook on the wall….not ideal when you need full winter gear for temperatures below freezing.

Pros: Location was 1 street behind main shopping street and around 5mins walk to nearest bus stops. Room was clean with heating, although windows allowed cold air to pass through. My friend found it cold but I thought it was ok under the duvet. Basic amenities included (towels, hair dryer, shampoo body wash). Staff was friendly and accommodating (we had to ask for new hair dryer and top-up of shampoo). Cons: room would be small for extended stay, but was ok for 3 days. If you visit in winter, please get shoes with ice grip! Many people were slipping everywhere. I had to take long detours just to avoid icy sidewalks.

Travelocity photos do not adequately demonstrate what a terribly small room the "double room" actually is. It was VERY small and tight. Access to the bed from one side. Very hard to get in and out of the bed on the inside spot.

Mye støy fra gata og veldig dårlig seng

Great location for a few days in Tromso. Walking distance to the main shopping street (just a couple of mins) and the harbour and bridge are close by. This was the main plus for us. Rooms are clean and modern and the hotel feels safe. Airport shuttle bus just a few minute walk so access was easy. Reception staff helpful and you can get food on site if you want it. Overall, very happy with our stay and would recommend

Excellent séjour au Smarthotel La position géographique de l’hôtel est parfaite, très proche des points de rencontre pour les excursions, ce qui est extrêmement pratique. Le service et l’accueil sont vraiment au top. Je tiens à souligner tout particulièrement la personne présente à l’accueil le 10 janvier 2026 dans l’après-midi : accueil chaleureux, professionnalisme et grande disponibilité. Le petit déjeuner est également parfait, très varié et de qualité. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel.

Excellent location, comfortable room and bathroom, delicious breakfast, very friendly breakfast staff. But the reception staff was very bad. Not at all friendly or helpful, they seem tired and without any interest in their work. A shame, because it is a very good hotel.

Near city center. Good rooms, heated.

The only thing about the hotel is walking up that hill with ice and snow on the ground. It was hard..especially if you had a suitcase. Other than that I was very pleased with my stay and will stay there again.

Super stay ! Loving the breakfast !

Really cool hotel. The breakfast was very good and with a good price (taking into consideration the prices in Norway). Very clean rooms and bathrooms, friendly staff and the location is really close to the center of the town. The room was a little small, but still more than enough for two people. The bed was comfortable, there was a smart TV which was nice, so we could stream over our own Netflix account.

Effektivt, nært sentrum, rimelig og stor frokostbuffet

On arrival at th smarthotel it was easy to check-in and find our room, room was very small, bed right up to the wall at side and end but was comfortable only one pillow each and quilt didn't cover the bed so luckily there was two. Bathroom was adequate Breakfast had a good selection of cooked and cold foods but if you've not booked through hotels own website its not included and costs around £14 per head, on our visit we were on the fourth floor and unfortunately the second day we were there the lift broke and was not fixed two days later when we left which ment we had to drag our bags down 4 flights of stairs Overall though its a nice hotel in a good location a short walk to shops and harbour.

A means to an end. Don’t waste your money on the breakfast ~£17 per person, just pop round the corner to the local Extra.
