The Clarence Park

Needs watch you head signs on low overhanging crossbar over the stairs bumped my head while in there this morning. Otherwise great. Not for vertiginous people lots of steep stairs.

L'acceuil le soir par Stéphan a été super. Il vous accompagne et vous explique tout (contrairement au message adressé pas besoin d'appeler passez la première porte puis sonnez). La literie est très correcte. Par contre en dortoir, si vous faîte plus de 1,90 m vous ne rentrerez pas. Une cuisine bien équipée pour faire vos repas. un petit déjeuner simple mais offert chaque matin avec des fruits frais. un espace commun cosi. un ordi avec accès sur internet. l'hébergement est réparti sur 4 bâtiments je crois si vous êtes dans celui de l'accueil vous aurez l'avantage de bénéficier de l'espace commun & cuisine dans sortir et d'une toillette bien commode quand celle du dortoir est squattée par les personnes qui se lavent. Surtout si celle-ci l'occupe plus d'une heure ;-( . Je recommande cet hébergement bien situé facilement accessible à pieds depuis la gare. éviter le dortoir 19 où la clim fait un bruit d'enfer. c'est simple je l'éteignais pour la nuit mais en plein châleur cela promet des nuits torrides dans le dortoir.

O hostel é muito bem localizado e organizado. Minha estadia foi tranquila e guardaram minha bagagem antes do checkin. Os atendentes são bem solicitos mas demoram a responder whatsapp. Para a cozinha, dependendo do quarto, é preciso trocar de predio para chegar. Banheiros limpos e cama confortável. O café da manhã poderia ter mais variedade.

Downtown, amazing location. No elevator so luggage to the third floor in the heat was a challenge for me. Clean comfortable room.

It is a very nice 3-storey old building, like "heritage". Stairs are quite steep, though. Those, who have big baggages, may also take this into consideration, on top of price. I lived on 2nd floor; it was 4-bed room.

As this was my first time staying at the Clarence Park - Hostel, I had no idea what to expect. On a positive note, the room rate (for the mixed 6-person dorm) was very good and the downtown location was excellent. On a negative note, there is no elevator so be prepared to carry your suitcase up multiple flights of stairs. Storage lockers in the room were too small to fit my medium-size suitcase and the bunkbed wasn’t high enough off the floor to fit my suitcase under it. The bathroom needs to be divided into separate spaces for toilet/sink and shower so guests could have better access. Wait times for access were lengthy and limited. The comforters are not washed on a regular basis so they were filthy. The room was very cold and I had to ask for the heat to be turned up. By the time I checked out, my bunkmates and I were feeling sick and coughing. I attribute this to the cold room and filthy comforters. Despite this, I would stay again if I could get a private room.

Overall, it is excellent for the price they charge. I lived in a 14-bed room, including lockers for each person, two washrooms and two showers. The room was clean. For the 14 bed room, there's no table or chair. Nevertheless, before entering the bedroom, there's a small lounge outside, which is kinda nice if you need a seat or not wanna to bother others. For the shower, I wish there was an additional rack beside the sink cause I couldn't find a place to put all the things I need. In addition, the hair dryer is kinda loud and not so strong to dry hair; I hope they can install a better one. I think The Clarence Park is a great Hostel, and I will definitely come back if I come to Toronto in the future! The only thing I think needs to be considered is the not so good noise insulation. Especially having the possibility of living with 13 other guests who have different schedules. A little sound can wake you up at night! If someone is taking a shower at night, like 12 am, you can hear it!!! They also have a common kitchen with shared kitchenware and fridge to store any food you have. Breakfast is also served from 8-10am. However, breakfast is nothing fancy but cereals and toast with butter or jam. Also, the milk for cereal went out so fast; I was there at about 8:40, and the milk was already gone.

Steven and Kendra were awesome. There's a nice decanter of iced tea always available in the lobby. A huge kitchen with tons of storage space and full facilities. Nice tv room. I really enjoyed my stay. I look forward to going back again.

Affordable option for an overnight trip to Toronto. I was disappointed that there was no parking onsite, as initially they told me that was an option. Overnight parking is pricey in Toronto.

I really liked the place, unfortunately when we arrived our bathroom wasnt cleaned and restocked. The bed was made and room clean, but looked as jf the bathroom was completely forgotten about. There was hair in the sink and shower. Dirty towels on the window sill and back of the door. Our bathroom never did get cleaned, and we had to pick up the clean towels from the front desk. I hope this was just a coincidence.

Ótimo local para ficar em Toronto, limpeza e localização são perfeitos.

I stayed there for 3 nights and got 30-40 bed bugs all over my body.

We booked a premium private room the picture on Expedia didn’t match our room, I mentioned it but was told they were having so many issues with Expedia, it wasn’t a big issue as the room was ok but the stairs and building we were in didn’t get cleaned once in 5 days as we could see the same dirt on the stairs, the bed was comfy and it was nice that it had a plug in air freshener in the bathroom and the shower was good although the tiled floor was slippy, you had to be careful, I liked the staff here except for one girl in the morning, she wasn’t friendly at all and made me feel awkward in the morning, she didn’t move to let me get plates and she could see I was waiting, she was just moving things about and I didn’t like leaning over her, she was just miserable, the rest were lovely, not sure if she was volunteering or permanent staff but she needs to smile a bit more, both young lads on the desk were very nice and helpful. The only big issue was the kitchen is just too small for the amount of guests trying to eat breakfast in the morning, there’s a thin table with 10 seats and a couple of mornings we had to eat in reception as there was no room, at first when I asked if we could eat in reception I was told no, we were stood up next to the hob, after a few mins we were told we could and others followed, you need a bigger area to eat in and this would put me off staying there again as you are on top of each other, apart from that we had a great stay as the area is great

Parfait pour visiter le quartier à pied. Nous avions deux lits dans un dortoir pour femmes et les matelas étaient confortables et la literie très propre. Nous avions une salle de bain dans la chambre à partager entre 4 femmes. Il y a une grande cuisine moderne et une terrasse sur le toît avec un bbq. Les moins: les escaliers sentent l’urine, ce n’est pas accessible pour les personnes à mobilité réduite, l’air climatisé fonctionnait à peine. J’y retournerais pour un prochain séjour sans hésiter.

Super clean, comfortable and cozy. I would love to stay here again (albeit with earplugs as our room had monstrously loud snorer the entirety of my 4 night stay)

muito boa, o único ponto era que o quarto era muito quente, mesmo com o ar condicionado ligado.

So far so good, it was quite cozy just that thr room was a bit cold during certain times in the night.

Todo muy bien, solo que se escucha todo de las otras habitaciones, está hecho de tablaroca y todo se escucha

Comfortable beds and nice staff, the place is located at a nice place that makes it walkable to the main Toronto activities! Only downside is that it can be a little noisy at night, since is really near the Downtown. ( bring earplugs ) :)

The man on the reception is very rude. Barely spoke to you just points at signs and things. E.g which way to my room, points at the stairs no words. The beds are very old and damaged, I was in the top bunk and there were wooden slats missing meaning in certain parts of the bed it just caved in, so pressure was put on you where the slats were there. Basically got no sleep it was so uncomfortable

The 14 bed female dorm was fantastic. I really appreciated that they had their own showers and toilets. The only thing is that there were limited outlets.

It was relatively smooth. Being as it's a hostel, you deal with a lot of other people and their habits. It's in a great location, but they were very challenging to contact by email or phone.

The private room was amazing, great stay! The staff were.a little stranger, whoever the guy was working the front desk on saturday evening was incredibly rude and unfriendly. If the rest of our experience hadnt been so positive, he would have made us make the decision to leave. Backwards hat on at the desk, seemed bothered to have to get up or answer a question, very rude, and was a bit uncomfortable that he has access to all rooms. Id like to NOT focus on that, as the property was fantastic besides that one person!

Ok room, decent bathroom and beds. BUT; terrible service at front desk. No interest in helping with basic questions about the city and transport and recommandations. Also, very odd to not be able to store luggage there and there is also no information about extra taxes. There will also be a further extra charge (as well as cash only) if late check in, so I cancelled my room for when coming back for the second booking.

The security guard was awesome and made me feel comfortable. I was scared to be in Toronto alone and his hospitality was great.

The location is close from Union station. However, interaction from staff can be improved as they’re not willing to assist nicely. Some of them are really rude and some of them are alright. As it was my first time in a hostel I politely asked how do I open the door when I come back am I allowed to ring, pls let me know? This old man lectured me on how they’re not doormans. Tbh I didn’t even mean that in any sense. I was just asking how can I open by myself? so clearly he was extremely impolite and other few staffs are not helpful as well. I asked “hey I was tryna use the water filter in the kitchen” he looked me pretty dead and goes “yeah it’s broken and we just never fixed it” I mean I get it’s a hostel and 50 bucks for a night is damn good but just a little bit of politeness and patience goes a long especially when they have rules painted all over their hostel. I’m just writing my experience so I’d suggest to look into another hostel especially if it’s your first time in the city. These guys are really not that courteous. The property is alright if you’re anywhere more than 5’5. The bunk bed might not be for you. One good factor after all this is they atleast have decent blankets and the breakfast is also sorta alrigh it’s just bread, ready made oats, peanut butter and yeah some corn flakes. Just saying if you can, look elsewhere! There are few more hostels and I’d love to give em a try next time in the city. Cheers!

On arrival the front desk guy (Sergie) was super friendly with info etc. We were upgraded to the Signal Suite which was really nice. He also called the room after we had settled in to check everything was OK. During our first night the smoke detector batteries were running low and we were woken to loud beeps every 30 seconds. A call to reception was quickly answered with the maintenence man on the phone to disconnect it so we could get back to sleep. The unit was replaced the next day.

Every thing is good however the welcome staff should be more welcoming than rude behaviour

The property was so convenient for a TO stop coming off the train at Union Station and flying out the next morning at Billy Bishop.

We had never stayed in a hostel, but found this with a private double room with private bath near the train station and quite liked it. The breakfast in the communal do-it-yourself kitchen was simple but enough.

Einfaches, komfortables Hostel mit sehr gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis mitten in Downtown Toronto. Sauber, alles was man braucht, Frühstückt überschaubar.

Petit déjeuner très simple (rôties et céréales), pas de jus de fruits. Cuisine propre. Nuitée calme et sans problème.

Clean and nice hostel, very close to all the tourist places, very nice staff who explained me everything the hostel has in details. There’s also light breakfast served, which is always a good add-on.
