Being a native of Brevard I’ve never stayed here until now. Wow! I was proud of this little gem! Didn’t have much interaction with staff but when I did, they were friendly and helpful! Those little sugar packets in cellophane for coffee are just teasers, lol. Even though it sat next to a busy highway traffic sound was not an issue. My room was clean and cozy! My bed was comfy and my two small dogs were welcome. Fixtures in the bathroom reminded me of my grandparents homes and good memories. Simpler living. What you see is not what you get, there’s more! Meaning, behind the rooms is a little oasis of picnic tables, hammocks, fire pits and areas for relaxing to enjoy nature! Oh, they also provide waste bags for pets and disposal box. If you enjoy feeling like you’ve come home, this is for you! Thank you Sunset Motel!

The Sunset Motel was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. The owner and the motel have a lot of heart. My friends and I stayed in a deluxe queen room which had plenty of space for the four of us. There was a mini fridge, microwave and Keurig style coffee machine. The ice machine was just across the parking lot. Response was quick when we needed extra towels and a new battery in the smoke detector. Andy, the owner, pointed out the common area that included picnic tables, a hammock, a fire pit and a grill. Some recent work had taken place so some areas were staked off to give the grass a chance to mature but it was nice, peaceful and still usable. Downtown Brevard is a short walk from the motel and full of shops and dining. A 30-40 minute drive and you can be in Asheville or Hendersonville or up on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This is the best hotel in Brevard , stay here close to everything. Had a great vib and out door hammocks, firepit just so clean & walk to down town . We will be back.

Lot of options to enjoy the stay; ie: hammocks, fire pit, and seating outside. Definitely took advantage of the grill. Very spacious cottage for the stay. The only thing that was not liked or enjoyed were the amount of spider webs with spiders around on the porch. Overall, would definitely come back and stay again.

Easy check-in even though I arrived a little later in the evening. Room was very clean. Bed was comfy with lots of different pillow choices. Liked the fact that they have a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Although I didn't use it this time, they have a bike washing station which is great. Love the retro style chairs outside. Great little place, would recommend and will stay again!

The Sunset Motel is an older building that has been renovated in a retro style. Eventhough it is on a main road, the owners have created a lovely area with picnic tables, hammocks, a fire pit and corn hole. It would stay here again should I be in Brevard again.

Quick but lovely stay at The Sunset in Brevard. The staff was super welcoming and friendly, the room was decorated in a fun-kitschy-retro style complete with retro record players and records, good size room with 2 sofas and a great shower, large outdoor lounging area with firepit, multiple hammocks and other seating. Easy walk to downtown Brevard. Highly recommend!

Super cute motel with fun vintage feel. We loved the Victoria in the room! Easy check in and checkout. Felt safe and comfortable. Only had an issue with one thing, which was the lack of a shower curtain liner. There was only the outer fabric curtain, therefore making for a bunch of water on the floor. Otherwise, fantastic!

Very cute hotel. It was clean and staff was responsive when we needed anything. I love the whole retro vibe of the place. It's located walking distance to restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay again.

Extremely clean and well kept. 50's themed with a record player and records in the room as well as assorted kitsch. One of the nicest stays we've ever had even though it is an old school type motel. Cool neon sign out front, too.

Cool look but the room needs updating especially the bathroom. Wasn’t until the next morning we realized there wasn’t any soap or shampoo in the room so just rinsed off without lather. No cable with a sketchy fire stick set up with no local stations. Beds no too comfortable. So while kitschy not too comfortable.

We needed a home base while hiking in Brevard. Loved the vintage vibe. The bed was more comfortable than pretty much any hotel/motel/Airbnb we have stayed in. The only noise we heard was traffic at the expected times. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room.

All and all the room was great, super cool retro design with a lot of attention to detail. Comfortable king size bed and all around a nice space. Only downside to the room is that the roll out bed was really uncomfortable so we had to have our kid sleep on the couch. The only other thing to mention is that the management seems to have some inner communication issues and they were a little weird and pushy about payment which is something I’ve never encountered before at a place of their level.

Rooms are small. It’s a motel through and through and maybe we were expecting a slightly different experience from the way it’s marketed. It’s perfectly fine and reasonable. But it’s a motel so don’t think otherwise.

We really enjoyed our trip to Brevard and our stay at the Subset Motel. We’ve frequented Brevard and have always loved this little motel, so it was fun to get to stay there. It was very convenient to everything, the beds were comfortable, we had plenty of towels, and the water pressure was good. The only downside is that being an older building, the walls are thin so it’s easy to hear street noise. We just slept with a soundscape going to help block out some noise and that worked well for us. We have no complaints. It’s definitely just your basic room, but we don’t go to the mountains to stay in our room.

Cute motel done in a retro 60’s fashion. Stayed at this motel about 10 years ago. Didn’t realize it at first. It is an updated property that is well taken care of. Paid for three nights but had to leave a day early. The manager said he would try to refund the night if he could book it for the night again. The property was full at capacity and he didn’t know if he could turn the room around quickly enough. Before we left the parking lot the housekeeper was in the room preparing for a new guest. Nothing has been returned. Feeling a little stiffed. Don’t have an emergency that will alter stay, you should be good.

No blackout curtain on one window, lights left on outside all night and made the room very bright and made it too bright for sleeping. Shower curtain had no liner and water ran onto floor and soaked my nightgown hanging on the back of the door.Check in was a disaster. Owner put me in the wrong room and I had to repack and move even tho he offered me money off on my room. The chair seat next to the bed had a sprung seat. Very uncomfortable. There has been a change of ownership and not for the better. I will not stay there again. Used to be a great little motel. No longer.
No blackout curtain on one window, lights left on outside all night and made the room very bright and made it too bright for sleeping. Shower curtain had no liner and water ran onto floor and soaked my nightgown hanging on the back of the door.Check in was a disaster. Our stay here was delightful. We had a few hiccups with our room, but the owner had someone who was onsite and had it fixed within a few minutes, and this was at 8:30 P.M. after the office was closed. It is very convenient to downtown Brevard. The owner was very personable and wanted our stay to be a great experience! We will definitely be back.

Quick but lovely stay at The Sunset in Brevard. The staff was super welcoming and friendly, the room was decorated in a fun-kitschy-retro style complete with retro record players and records, good size room with 2 sofas and a great shower, large outdoor lounging area with firepit, multiple hammocks and other seating. Easy walk to downtown Brevard. Highly recommend!

I can’t stress enough how much I enjoyed staying at this motel. It’s super retro, lots of fun details in the room, like a retro record player, kitschy curtains-even the refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker were retro colors. I had a living room, a little kitchenette, a bathroom in a separate bedroom. Great space, very comfortable with modern TVs. Check-in was easy. They still maintain a fairly touchless approach and if you need anything just to request in advance or set your towels and trash outside your room for a replacement. Next time I’m in Brevard, it will be to stay here Very close to downtown within walking distance and there are so many wonderful hikes in the area. Lots to do.

The Sunset Motel was a great stop over during a two week vacation. I picked the location because of its vicinity to the Pretty Place Chapel. The downtown area provided an opportunity to streak my legs wandering in and out of the unique businesses and great places to eat. Highly recommend.

Keys were left outside the office in a mailbox. Very quaint little motel. The room was small but clean. We walked to downtown (.6miles) and walked around and had dinner. Nighttime was quiet. Just a one night stay 👍
