Excellent concierge, Melvin, who spent lots of his precious time to help us to call places to look for our mishandling by the airlines. We appreciated his patience, manner, and recommendation. Front desk, Stephan, was kind and nice. The exit level of the basement parking lacks elevator access which was difficult for moving larger luggage. Easy to get lost as the basement parking and main entrance of the hotel are not located on the same street. Lacking exterior access and direction between these two entrances of the hotel.

Really nice staff, nice renovated room and good location but not a 5 stars hotel for several reasons: - room cleanlinless not good - dust on windows and under the bed / back at 5pm and cleaning not done - shortage of towels - refill of shower gel missing - avoid the pool on saturdays (Pool party) - way too busy and oversold to external visitors vs. covering actual customers - breakfast really ‘average’ quality: bakery buffet good, gluten-free option good, fruits limited, ‘hot corner’ is really poor quality - some restaurant staff members needs also to learn best practices like several time we have seen them putting fîngers inside clean glasses

Rooms were clean and AC worked. Pool closed for season despite appearance on Expedia website. No pool for 80 degree weekend was disappointing. Hotel staff nice and diligent. Helped me print my train tickets.

Pool and outside amenities dirty to the point we did not use at all which ruined our vacation . Door to room had large piece broken on inside. Tiles chipped in bathroom. Skirting boards dirty. Overall would not give this hotel the star rating it receives and would certainly be hesitant in using your website again to book our next holiday

This was a huge disappointment, the initial arrival gave warning signs this was clearly not a 5 star property. Upon check in the lobby was very average, not indicative of 5 star - we had to queue to actually get the keycard, only one lift working and generally overall very average service. When we arrived to our room, we discovered the bedding and specifically the pillows, were covered in hairs (both beds), and also the mattress topper - clearly this is not changed between residents, which is really disgusting as these were equally as dirty (with hairs) as the pillows. The shelf behind the beds appeared to have never been cleaned either, we used a baby wipe to clean this - really not a pleasant thing to have to do. We promptly contacted House keeping, who changed the sheets but no apology from the hotel when we made them aware at checkout. Another thing to mention was the smell coming from the sink drain, we had to rectify this by putting the plug in when not in use. Not a huge inconvenience but really not great. Breakfast was a buffet style help yourself, this was ok, however we needed to be in promptly for 6:30 and the staff were still bringing things out even when we were leaving, and we had to ask for other items, like butter as there wasn’t any out. Overall, certainly not a 5 star hotel and definitely not a 5 star service. The worst Marriott owned property we have ever visited

Clean room, beautiful facility, friendly and accommodating staff, good location. Our only critiques were that the bed was really uncomfortable (could feel the springs) and that the AC doesn’t run in the winter months. The rooms get really warm, and with no way to cool them back down (opening a window offered little relief), it made sleeping really difficult.

Séjour un petit peu décevant, l'entretien de l'hôtel dans sa globalité n'est pas à la hauteur d'un 5 étoiles. Nous sommes entrés dans la chambre notre t^été de lit était cassée, grosse fissure apparente. Les moquettes des couloirs étaient trouées, pas entretenues, la fontaine à eau dans les espaces communs était pleine de calcaire. Le voiturier ne nous a pas monté les bagages. Le parquet du bar et du restaurant atmosphère n'est pas bien entretenu, c'est dommage car la literie est très agréable, à la réception le personnel est lui aussi très agréable. Le massage au spa exceptionnel mais dans le cadre d'un séjour en amoureu offert pour un anniversaire, je reste un peu déçue...

The hotel is lovely but the staff and service was a bit mixed. Some of the staff were downright rude and most weren’t very helpful, made us feel as if we were a pain and inconvenience wanting to order drinks. We ordered a salad when we were by the pool (melon & feta) and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive. I had to chase it up 3 times and was told by the staff I was lucky as some guests had to wait 2 hours for their order! And made me feel like I shouldn’t expect it any sooner. Our room was lovely; big, cool, really clean & really comfortable, especially the beds. Casting to TV didn’t work though annoyingly and coffee not topped up everyday. Breakfast wasn’t very good value at €30 a head.

Halls/rooms had a musky smell. We were out in a joining room where the door between the rooms were not very sound proof. Service wasn’t bad. Was a little thrown off by location and the hotel charges 2 euros per extra Nespresso pods - we’ve never heard of that before.

Mauvaise isolation phonique, nous avons entendu les voitures pendant la nuit et avons mal dormis. Le petit déjeuné est servi jusqu’à 10h30. Our family of 4 ( kids ages 12 & 14) loved the hotel. Parents had king overlooking the pool. Kids had a room overlooking the courtyard. Air Conditioning amazing. Room has excellent blackout curtains ( you can get the room cold and pitch dark). bed very comfortable , cotton sheets and very comfy pillow. You can walk from hotel to restaurants in downtown in 10 minutes. Hotel has good breakfast in the hotel for extra $. service was good. cleaning also. I would rate this hotel in this category 5 out of 5 and would recommend it to others.

This is a very nice property close to old town Aix. It’s very walkable with lots of restaurants and shops in the area. The staff are wonderful and the indoor pool was a big plus for our children. My only complaint is that the family room is rather small for a family of four and next time I would investigate suite options.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was overshadowed by repeated negative experiences with a breakfast staff member. On three separate occasions, I was met with unfriendly, unprofessional, and at times even aggressive behavior. I have never experienced anything like this before – certainly not in a hotel that claims to offer five-star service. This kind of passive-aggressive and dismissive attitude is completely inappropriate. To be fair, the other staff members I encountered were very polite and professional, which makes this individual's behavior stand out even more. I will not be returning to this hotel and cannot recommend it to others who expect respectful and welcoming service. I have already reported this issue to the reception, but given that it happened multiple times, I felt it necessary to leave this public review.

We had a wonderful stay at Renaissance Hotel. In fact, One of the employees, Kevin, was great enough to help us speak in French on our behalf with our previous hotel, where we had left our money and passports in the safe. He spoke with them and helped ensure that they secured our possessions and ask them to arrange a delivery to Renaissance Hotel. This was above and beyond what you would expect and he made our stay more enjoyable and relieved our stress instantly. We hope to stay at Renaissance Hotel in the near future next time we’re in Aix-en-Provence!

The hotel is around a 10 minute walk into Aix old-town, located in a very quiet residential area. The hotel looks new, and is very clean, but the design is about style over comfort, chosen to look good in the photos. The restaurant staff (lovely) even offered to change seats for people before they sat down since the clear plastic chairs are not conducive to fine dining. There is no separate bar area, just a counter in the main lobby. We didn't take advantage of the spa, and despite being 20 deg outside the exterior was pretty closed off. Aix is beautiful and whilst the hotel had its positives (staff, cleanliness and was very quiet at night), we would stay more centrally if we came back.

Excellent location and facilities only 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The garden and pool area is very attractive and clean . We sunbathed two days and it felt resort-like . We were serenaded by students of the nearby conservatoire practising instruments. The room was very spacious with a view of the Sainte Victoire Mountain loved by Cezanne . We walked to his studio from the hotel and back . We would stay here again .

Great hotel, couple of niggles but nothing that would stop me staying again. Breakfast was lovely but moving through the week several items stopped being available, by the last day there was no sausages, no white bread and no pancakes. The pool is great and well maintained with a chilled beach vibe. Table service is available but drinks are little on the steep side. The common areas are clean and modern but the pool table in the bar, that the boys enjoyed, disappeared on the third day?! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff are super friendly and the mix of nationalities in the guests made it feel truly international. The hotel is 5 mins walk from the town with loads of bars and restaurants.

For a 5 star hotel, it was just average. Like most "expensive" hotels, everything was overpriced and the hotel under delivered. The shower was dangerous, the pool are was cheesy, the breakfast was outrageously over priced and the fruit served was rotten.
