What I did not like was the lack of friendliness from front desk staff. The property had the most ridiculous parking conditions having to enter a lift to reach your designated car park. Only 1 lift working, with cars entering and exiting the 1 lift. Too slow, tight and make sure your car is no bigger than a small SUV. Oh and to top of that, they charge $35 to park! Other than that quiet room, clean and everything you need.

When looking for an apartment I was specifically trying to find something with parking onsite. I booked Aura as it said parking was available. Arrived and was then told parking was not onsite and we had to walk to the parking. This was not convenient when traveling with a baby whom we needed to take a porta cot for and other larger baby items. At $35 per night I’d expect parking onsite, I could have parked my car at crown casino for less! Cleaners need more attention to detail or to do a deep clean once in a while. The walls were very dirty, handprints half way up the wall. Bed was visibly dirty and stained it was quite gross (see photo). There was also a very strong chemical smell when we arrived (assuming cleaning supplies). I’d suggest trying an alternative as it was totally over powering and actually made my throat itch! Location was convenient but probably wouldn’t stay again due to the above issues.

Decent location with a short walk to south wharf. Our room had great city views of the Yarra River. Reasonably priced and generally clean. Parking was convenient but very tight squeeze in the lift that takes the car down to the basement, lucky our car is small. Overall a good experience for the price.

The view from the apartment was spectacular, we could see the lights of the MCG and the flames going off by crown. Although our balcony was tiny, sitting on the lounge suite was perfect to watch the city at night. The lift to get into the parking spot was a bit tricky, you need to line up your car perfectly straight, but once in, we felt that our car was super secure overnight. The gym was great for my son to workout. Overall, a pleasant stay and we'd stay there again. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Well done Aura!

The location is handy for walking to both Crown and DFO. Having a kitchen is a big bonus. Parking on the premises is another plus (extra cost). Trams and train close by.

Location and cleanliness of this property was really nice. I paid for the use of a parking spot which was handy although a bit terrifying to enter a car lift with centimetres of space on each side of the medium sized SUV. Still a nice spot with really nice views. Thanks!

Great location for getting around the city using the free trams. The room was nice but the bathroom wasn't 100% clean (around the bottom edges of the shower in particular). There wasn't actually enough lighting in the kitchen area of our apartment. Also in a 2 bedroom apartment the only mirror was a small one on the bathroom vanity, which again wasn't lit well enough for makeup application etc. Given how close it was to the railway it was not too noisy, the internal room was nice and dark and quiet to sleep in. Staff were good.

This is one of the dirtiest accommodations I have ever stayed in. Upon arrival the parking was atrocious with very small confined spaces that was not advertised as a car lift for small cars. The foyer had grubby furniture. When arriving to our room, it had filthy floors. Walls that had clearly had holes in them that weren’t properly plastered back over, a broken lamp and damaged architraves. It was filthy. When I rang to reception on my mobile because the intercom didn’t work we were given another room, this room was slightly cleaner however we were required to wear socks the whole time due to the filthy carpet. I requested extra sheets and we threw them over the couch and armchair. The advertisement for a balcony on both rooms was a disgustingly 30 cm tiled ledge with a filthy air-conditioner and plastic old chairs as the outside furniture. When you looked over the edge of the balcony to the guttering and roof below all you could see was rubbish that had been thrown out of windows. I believe this should not be on HOTELS.com as an available property and the pictures by far do not represent the rooms, I would suggest false pictures. This is a falsely rated star accommodation. Very, very disappointed.

Absolutely horrible. We don’t check in till pass 2pm. There were about 20 luggage’s in the lobby. Everyone was watching the AO semi finals at 2:30pm. People changing in the gym bathroom. When we finally got to the room there were BLOOD STAINS on the bed sheets. Horrific, unacceptable. The gentleman was kind enough to replace them but this is still unacceptable from management. Disappointed & Disgraceful. People need to investigate who can run & operate hotels. I’m no complainer or harsh critic but any normal customer would simply be left disgusting.

Convenient location. Rooms clean and nicely presented. Bedrooms in apartment very small, tight squeeze to even walk around the bed. Beds not very comfortable and very low to ground. Having a small balcony was great. Air conditioning does not reach into bedrooms and only suitable for living area. Bedroom windows could not be opened.

Basic accomodation, bed was not very comfortable and very low to the ground. Bathroom was neat and had been cleaned, but felt grotty...mouldy looking at the corners and egdes of the shower and grout lines. Water damage to bottom of bathroom door did not look great. Toilet roll holder broken.Broken plasterboard in bedroom. Cheaper for a reason

The proximity to the rail line makes this a very loud apartment. I stayed in the one bedroom balcony apartment which had a lounge and dining area. There were no power points anywhere near the dining table, which made plugging in your laptop to work impossible. While there was a small desk are in the bedroom, who wants to work in the bedroom when there is a large dining table? Badly designed and very loud.

We had a 2 bedroom apartment for 6 nights as a group we were attending the F1 in Melbourne. Location was perfect, close to lots of amenities. The room itself was fine. We were on the 12th floor with views all the way down flinders street to the MCG in the background. The only issue and it was a biggy for us, once it came to sleeping the train noise was loud and pretty constant with the train tracks only 50-100m from the hotel and the trains only seem to stop between 2-5am. So if you're a light sleeper this place would not be for you. Potentially if we could have been on the 20th floor or towards the back of the hotel that might have made a difference but we were unable to get a room change due to the busy period for the F1.

Young guy at reception took nearly a minute to look away from his iPad and acknowledge me when I arrived. Windows are only single glazed so it's very noisy. Most of the furniture is cheap and falling apart.

Check in process was easy, staff were kind and welcoming. Had an issue with our allocated parking space being taken, but it was quickly and painlessly rectified. We could tell the room had recently been cleaned, however it was grimy all over. Marks and stains on most surfaces, looked like spit marks on the walls. All along the walls the floor was dirty. We didn’t need to use the kitchen facilities, but we were happy we didn’t as most of the utensils weren’t clean. The bedroom got so hot at night, despite it not being a hot night, and unfortunately there is only AC in the living room/kitchenette area. Also, we booked a room with a king bed and got a queen. One saving grace was the shower. Best hotel shower I’ve experienced, great pressure and temperature control. Location was great, close to everything we wanted to go to, and there was a great view from the Balcony.

Booked this property as it was an apartment room based on what we needed for our stay as working remotely from home. However, Property wifi had a leakage and we booked for 5 nights, therefore, everyday the guy keep coming to fix it . Wasted our time waiting for the guy to come to fix it but never resolved until the 3rd day only they provide a new router. Service is bad. Lady at the front desk was not helpful and she gave a rude eye when we kept asking her to send someone to the room to fix the wifi. Was a terrible stay there and no compensation provided based on the inconvenience caused. - Gym was close throughout the entire visit as it was on maintenance. Property did not advice pre-check in or prior to check in. Another facilities we booked for their property and unable to use it throughout our stay. - Sink was clog as the sink plug unable to open to release the water. - Definitely not worth the price that we paid for this property. Such a disappointment.

This is the second time we have stayed at Aura on Flinders and once again our stay was fantastic. Check in was quick and easy. The staff were very friendly. Our room was great, everything we needed was in there. Lots of dining options, transport is easy to access. We will definately book again.

Originally put into the wrong room but couldn’t change to the correct one as they were booked out. Changed rooms the next day, only to receive a call later that day while we were out to say it was the wrong room again and they had moved our belongings to another room! Huge invasion of our privacy. Didn’t ask our permission to move our things. Very unprofessional. Would never stay again
