This was the first time staying in the motel units (normally stay in the older multi bedroom units) and were reasonably happy with the room. Good size, good layout, quiet and warm however more could be done to up-keep these. We noticed many of the window latches were broken, couple lights not working, shower drain broken. Not the end of the world but they are such good units, it seems a shame to see them getting 'worn out' so fast. This same level of up keep seems to stem through to the games room and kids playground which is a shame as the park is great, it just could do with a bit of TLC. I've been staying at this holiday park for many years (as a kid myself and now taking my own kids there) and will continue to do so, will just be great to see some money invested into facilities especially for the kids.

We stayed for a night as part of a road trip, and the ensuite cabin was perfect. It was just the two of us, but a family with small children could have made use of the bunks in the other room. Everything was fresh and clean, and the grounds had a nice feel. The hot pools were a bit disappointing, being just small rectangular concrete, but we just went to Polynesian Spa instead. All in all a great place and would stay here again

We rented out a whole unit with another couple. It was a nice stay, we enjoyed the hot pools and being surrounded by beautiful nature. My only complaint was the 1GB of data they give each device per day. Not a big deal, except can be frustrating if you’re traveling around and need wifi to book adventures or day trips. Otherwise it was great.

Lots of onsite activities from individuals to families, even teams with a rugby field, basketball hoop, netball court(or tennis) and cricket pitch. Soak in the hot pools or swim in the pool. Friendly, helpful staff. Accommodation and camp sites caters for all, backpackers to motel units. Highly recommended.

This was one of the most pricey holiday park cabin I booked in our 2 weeks holidays in NZ. I was under the impression the property had thermal pools onsite, therefore I booked to stay here. Having “thermal” in the property name is a bit misleading. The hot pool is very small, not really enough room if 4 different families decide to use the pool at the same time. The kitchen lacks of the common utensils eg grater, sharp knife, colander. And offering just 1G of free wifi is a joke.

Had an oven and a decent size fridge which was good, but the villa was very old and not priced very well for what we paid, when we arrived it looked as though the recent clean would have taken 10 minutes after the last tennants had gone, lots of dust still around and creepy crawlies settling in!

The cabin was clean and functional. Beds were comfortable with plenty of bedding. I was scared when I learned that there were several cabins with middle school kids and they were running around playing tag, etc. But to my surprise their chaperones kept them very quiet after 9:00 pm. The Holiday Park itself was very well organized and clean. I would stay there again.

We've always liked staying at Rotorua Thermal Holiday Park. Its been a few years since we were last there but we were not disappointed. We stayed in a cabin - very nice and neat and tidy, very clean, the bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen were also very clean.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable. We felt safe around the area. There was free parking all the essential you needed during our stay. The bathroom was a little dated compared to other holiday parks we've been too but that's all. Overall it was a great experience. Staff was fast and very helpful.

Stayed in the ensuite log cabin it was great! Lots of space for two people or four! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals and bathroom was good size. Bonus that the hot tubs are open until 10! Great stay.

The area was great, I was just very disappointed with a few things. We rented a room that slept 5, with one double bed and 3 single. The single beds are definitely not for adults, mattress is extremely thin and uncomfortable. We paid 130$ and they didn’t even leave the coffee sachets you get anywhere else you go (this is available in other rooms). The showers definitely need a bit of love, soap was provided in other rooms but not in the shared toilets. The offer bbq around the property however o couldn’t bring myself to use them, they were all rusty, full of dust and sticky. They have a kids playground, which is not very safe. They offer a play room as well (there are no toys or games) just a TV and some very old books. If you are going to visit them upgrade your room to the one with ensuit or they won’t really care about you. I wouldn’t visit again sadly.

The check in staff efficient and kind. The cabin and communal bathrooms would benefit from a refresh, but provided all basic necessities. The double bed and bunk bed family cabin, best suited for kids under six feet tall. We were fortunate it was cool and rainy when we stayed as there is no ceiling fan to circulate air. Blackout curtains on front kept out light. Very good choice for car camping. Rustic cabin vibe.

My husband and I only had a one night stay. We phoned ahead as we knew we would get there quite late. The staff talked us through the check-in procedure which was super easy. Our room was clean and tidy. I thought the bed was really comfortable. The shower the next morning was lovely and hot. My husband went for a quick swim after his run and he was impressed with the simplicity of it all. Would happily return here to stay for a few days!!

Arrived drenched from motorcycle ride, staff were very accomodating to upgrade our room with better facilities to allow us to dry all our gear. Hot pools onsite are lovely great on a wet day to soak away the road tiredness.

We didn't know what to expect exactly. The staff was amazingly friendly and warm. There are many ways to stay her - camping, RV, small units, and cabins. They were very cute, clean with lots of light. The beds, with comforters, were wonderful. Best sleep I've had on our trip to NZ from Oregon, USA. The facilties (BR, kitchen, etc.) were not in the room but across the way. They were very clean and well lit. Everyone using them were courteous and cleaned-up after themselves. There was a wide range of facility users - families, youth groups, travelers. All were very nice and relatively quiet - even the teenagers! Many different languages spoken. Simply a wonderful experience for visitors from another country.

Check in & check out were very easy and the staff were very friendly. Our cabin was clean and the shared services, Kitchen, Shower & Toilets and Laundry were all kept very clean and in good condition. We didn't use the heated pool so can't comment. The location was very convenient for the city centre and many of the local attractions.
