Great location! Right in historic Mazatlan with walking to the beach less than 10 mins. Tons of restaurants and shops nearby. This is an excellent place for a quiet retreat. The caretaker was so sweet and helpful. There is a small kitchen for food prep and so many patio areas to enjoy. It was a magical location.

Beautiful, folkloric design- unique decor and excellent location. There are two plunge pools for soaking in various courtyards. It was quiet and the staff graciously put up with our terrible Spanish!

Villa Serena was truly an amazing place to stay -- I loved having access to a full kitchen while there, and it was so well kept and clean. It felt like a beautiful oasis to return to every day and the courtyard is even more picturesque than these photos. Note that it's an apartment, not a hotel, so some of those hotels amenities won't be present, but the staff was still incredibly helpful.

The place is located right in the middle of the old town, a few blocks from the best restaurants in town. Very few guest early May, so we enjoyed the pool in the beautiful courtyard by ourselves. Our suite was nice, basic, but lacked a bit of sunlight and the bathroom was small and outdated. We had a tour of the facility, some suites are very spacious. The staff was very kind and pleasant. We were told it's packed in the winter and in the summer, which would make a very different experience.

Pros: El lugar es muy bonito a la vista, el apartamento es muy espacioso, en general es tranquilo y muy centrico, en cuestión de 3 minutos caminando estás en plaza Machado y en unos 10 en la catedral, sobra dónde comer en los alrededores. Contras: no hay una conexión estable de internet, es demasiado intermitente (se reportó y no se solucionó), el jacuzzi y alberca están tan clorados o sucios tal vez que el agua huele mucho a cloro y se ve sucia. La desventaja de que no haya una recepción es que nadie te resuelve dudas sobre la instalación.

The Villa Serena is a quaint property in old historic Mazatlan. When you arrive you get a feel of old country living with the courtyard and all the beautiful tiles. There are several restaurants in the area so finding a decent meal was easy, although we were there for the eclipse and the town was overwhelmed with tourists, so finding a meal wasn't as easy as it would have been normally. It is also conveniently located so that virtually everything in the central district is walkable. We walked to the basilica, the observatory, down the Malecon and elsewhere. Rarely did we need a taxi and it was usually because we were simply too tired after walking all day. The downsides? Well we had to go up two flights of stairs and climb through a bougainvillea forest to get to our room. Every time I came or went, I was attacked by this thorny hedge. Another factor is that since these are 'apartments' they only clean or replace towels and linens on request. Not a downside, pre se, just be aware this is not your typical hotel. It is certainly quiet and you can leave your windows open if you wish.

Was looking for a nice culture look place to stay in el centro. This place was amazing. Love the architecture, the greenery, the views and the pool. 100 percent recommended. Would definitely come back.

Llegamos a las 7 de la noche y la entrada siempre está cerrada tuve que llamar para que salieran por nosotros y el trato de las personas que nos recibieron fue muy amable y cortes, la habitación muy agradable, limpia y climatizada eso fue muy bonito, el horario de la piscina ya estaba por finalizar pero nos permitieron la entrada igual que al jacuzzi sin ninguna restricción. Definitivamente regresaré.

We booked this property because we knew people there and they said it was really nice. We were greeted by a wonderful woman Marta but she spoke no English at all. They put us in a room beside the jacuzzi, there were no towels, no face cloths, no toilet paper, and the room was not as projected on Expedia. There was one pot a microwave a fridge and hot plate. There wasn’t even a coffee maker. We were very disappointed with what we received for the price we paid!! If the owner had been there at all we would have expressed our disappointment but they were not present at all in the three nights we were there. Thank God for some of the winter residences that lived there, they helped us to get some basics!

No se alojen ahi, es caro, tenia cucarachas pequeñas el lugar. Y no esta bien ubicado. Hay miles de alojamientos alrededor del malecon, linda vista y ubicacion, por un menor precio.

We liked the room….. the bed was wonderful. We didn’t like having no hot water, no housekeeping while we were there. We felt like we had been forgotten about. The garbages were never emptied, the towels were never refreshed… we asked for hand towels or facecloths …… didn’t get either. Would not stay there again

Una experiencia muy agradable. El lugar es bonito, limpio, cómodo, la atención al cliente es buena. Está muy cerca de la Plazuela Machado, Olas Altas, Mercado. Te hacen sentir como en casa. Sin duda volveremos!!

My wife and I have stayed here a few times. And we absolutely love it. The staff are so nice and helpful. It’s like a family when you are there with the other guest and the staff and everybody’s so friendly and talking there so many options for restaurants for shopping. It’s a beautiful neighborhood it’s very safe the bed was so comfortable, the shower had strong pressure and very hot water. Everything you need to make meals were there, we most definitely will be staying there.

My wife and I have stayed here a few times. And we absolutely love it. The staff are so nice and helpful. It’s like a family when you are there with the other guest and the staff and everybody’s so friendly and talking there so many options for restaurants for shopping. The apartment was pretty good with the kitchen. The microwave was a little difficult to get to and operate being on top of the fridge. I think some paper towels would have been good along with a couple dish cloths. Maybe some tall plastic cups would be good. In the bathroom, toilet paper didn't have a holder and probably some wash cloths and hand towels would be good.

La propiedad esta hermosa y al menos la habitación qué nos tocó era bastante amplia, pero de dos pisos, por lo que si tienen alguna discapacidad es preferible avisar con anticipación. Al menos a nosotros nos tocó poco ruido. Lo único que sí faltó fue un ventilador en la habitación de las camas individuales.

La propiedad esta hermosa y al menos la habitación qué nos tocó era bastante amplia, pero de dos pisos, por lo que si tienen alguna discapacidad es preferible avisar con anticipación. Al menos a nosotros nos tocó poco ruido. Lo único que sí faltó fue un ventilador en la habitación de las camas individuales.

We booked this property because we knew people there and they said it was really nice. We were greeted by a wonderful woman Marta but she spoke no English at all. They put us in a room beside the jacuzzi, there were no towels, no face cloths, no toilet paper, and the room was not as projected on Expedia. There was one pot a microwave a fridge and hot plate. There wasn’t even a coffee maker. We were very disappointed with what we received for the price we paid!! If the owner had been there at all we would have expressed our disappointment but they were not present at all in the three nights we were there. Thank God for some of the winter residences that lived there, they helped us to get some basics!

Beautiful, folkloric design- unique decor and excellent location. There are two plunge pools for soaking in various courtyards. It was quiet and the staff graciously put up with our terrible Spanish!

To whom it may concern, both my wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed our recent (brief) stay at Villa Serena, from the old world Vibe of the Centro Historico, to the ease of accessibility for all the local amenaties, ie: restaurants, shopping, local culture, access to bus transportation etc. And our hosts Marthe and Daisy were always accomodating no matter the request. We also enjoyed meeting and socializing with the other long term guests each evening to share knowledge and updates of local activities and or places to eat. Not sure when...but we will definitely be going back. R&M

The place is located right in the middle of the old town, a few blocks from the best restaurants in town. Very few guest early May, so we enjoyed the pool in the beautiful courtyard by ourselves. Our suite was nice, basic, but lacked a bit of sunlight and the bathroom was small and outdated. We had a tour of the facility, some suites are very spacious. The staff was very kind and pleasant. We were told it's packed in the winter and in the summer, which would make a very different experience.

Adoro este lugar, es mi favorito en Mazatlán, tienen departamentos preciosos y el servicio es muy bueno, tienen jacuzzi y alberca, las habitaciones, la mía tenía 2 baños 3 camas, sala, netflix, cocina y patio con lavadero y una mesa para comer en el patio. Además los pisos y el lugar es precioso. Amo el centro histórico de Maza, tienes a 3 o 4 cuadras la playa y Olas altas.

Great location! Right in historic Mazatlan with walking to the beach less than 10 mins. Tons of restaurants and shops nearby. This is an excellent place for a quiet retreat. The caretaker was so sweet and helpful. There is a small kitchen for food prep and so many patio areas to enjoy. It was a magical location.

The location was excellent. Our room was very nice. The beds very comfortable. There were a few things missing in the room such as, a top sheet for one bed, face clothes & hand towels, supplies for washing dishes. The staff were accommodating in supplying these things when we asked. Although we were only visiting one week, I felt the housekeeping staff should have, at the very least, emptied our garbage & did a quick mopping of the floor at least once without having to ask. When we could find a staff member to ask questions, they were friendly & helpful. Wifi service was sketchy, I often had to use my phone data to call out or receive messages. Many of the visitors were retired, & come yearly in the winter. They had happy hour in the courtyard daily. It was really nice to join & meet everyone. We joined a group from the Villa for a day trip to Stone island which was very nice. The hotel was very secure. We even felt we didn't need to lock our door to our room most times. The rooftop pateo was nice too. Also a line to hang clothes with clothespins. Be prepared to pay a little more then what is quoted on the booking, as there is extra taxes & fees that are added after. It worked out to approximately $140 extra for the 7 days. Overall our stay was great! We would recommend & stay again.
