Staff was ready to welcome us for check-in and thoroughly explained process. It's located in a nice quiet neighborhood not far from attractions. Only thing I'd say is you may have to park a bit farther from the inn because it's street parking so space is limited, but it's less than a 3 min walk even if you end up with a farther spot, so it wouldn't deter us from staying here again! Would return!

Quiet inside and also a quite neighbourhood. However, there are a lot of stairs in the house and the sound of frequent walking up/down the stairs by other guests may be a bit annoying and bothersome. I personally got used to it fairly quickly and was able to tune it out. The guest kitchen was a significant benefit, and especially access to a kettle, fridge, potable water, and cutlery. The staff were responsive and attentive to my requests and questions.

Be prepared for lots of stairs (especially if handling heavy luggage), however the property does give ample warning. Also minimal bathroom countertop space and limited space to put luggage in room. Parking was available, however we did have to park down at the end of the block and around the corner at times, but very doable. The staff was very friendly & accommodating and rooms/property were clean and inviting. It was actually kinda nice to be staying in a residential neighborhood (with a beautiful big castle literally in the backyard).

This is a wonderful guesthouse right by Craigdarroch Castle and a 30 minute walk downtown (or take the bus). As long as you don’t mind carrying your luggage up many stairs. The guest kitchen & use of laundry an added plus.

Appears that the Craigmyle, built in 1912, is the oldest B&B in Victoria. The building is in excellent historical condition & it was nice to be situated directly across from the castle. Rooms are a tad small, but clean & well kept. There is no A/C or elevators. Staff are friendly & accommodating. We enjoyed the $10 breakfast along with complimentary coffee & tea. The common areas of kitchen, living & dining room are cozy, well kept & inviting. Kitchen area is convenient for preparing your own meals & snacks. Location of Craigmyle is a 20-30 min walk into the downtown area with shops & restaurants along the way (Fort St), bus stop nearby.

Unique place. Well maintained and cared for. Its exactly how it is presented. Sounds do travel, but if you and your fellow guests are considerate, its lovely. Free laundry facilities was a huge help. Free parking too.

Very quiet area right next to the castle, clean and nicely decorated rooms, very comfortable beds, access to the large living room and kitchen area and fridge. Lots of stairs outside and inside and no ac for hot summer months, but not a problem in September when we were there. Would recommend

Nice little quiet place. This was my first experience in an B&B and it was good. Staff was very friendly and other guests were also friendly. Only downside, for me, was the parking. It is out on the public street and sometimes is hard to find a spot.

This was a wonderful bed & breakfast. Very clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff are friendly, self check-in was a breeze. Love the charm of this vintage property, steps away from Craigdarroch Castle, and only a short drive to downtown tourist attractions. Free parking, breakfast available. Will definitely stay again!

Man was I hoping to love this place, however it fell short in a few areas. 1. It was freezer, there was no heat, we asked the staff for a heater however they brought us a fan instead thus sleeping with our hoodies and pants on. Also we noted silverfish in our room as well. The positives are - the staff was extremely nice, they honour the history of the building and it’s like you’re in a time capsule of history the common area was impeccably clean and welcoming.

The Craigmyle was a wonderful place to stay for a few nights! Our room was cozy and spotlessly clean! The bed was so comfortable. We loved the fact you could use the hotel kitchen to make a snack or hot tea at night. The coffee in the morning available in the living room was a nice treat to start our morning. The added bonus of breakfast if we wanted for only $10 was a nice option. Overall definitely will stay again for our next visit to Victoria.

The hotel was okay for a short stay. The room was quite small, and there was a noticeable musty smell in the hallway, like old furniture or carpets. The Room itself was clean. Unfortunately, the window didn’t have proper blackout curtains, so it got quite bright early in the morning. Staff was friendly, and the location was fine.

This is my fourth time staying at the Craigmyle. While I think it's great, standards have started to slip. I had a room with a kitchenette, and there was leftover food and garbage from the previous guest. Also under the bed hadn't been mopped, so it was extremely dusty. I stayed for 5 days, and it would have been nice if they'd come to collect garbage or towels. They seem understaffed, although the staff I did speak to are very nice.

We arrive in a heat wave. Our room was on the third floor and no AC. We were given a fan and told it would cool off at night. We were also not allowed to switch rooms for our second night. The bathroom window which was full size had no blind. I hope we didn’t scare the neighbours

Our room was clean and nicely decorated. Small, so you can't expect to do much more than sleep in the room. Which makes the great room downstairs a good place to hang out when available. The breakfast ($10) was good. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. The stairs helped us get our daily steps in! And it's a short walk to the Government House trails, which was awesome.

This was a very nicely furnished property in the Rockland neighborhood. The only negative about The Craigmyle is that its walls are quite thin and you can hear everyone's coming and goings.

After 10 minutes ran out of hot water in the shower Couldn’t open the blind to get fresh air and look outside we could hear the other guests talking. The room for 2 people was too small, no area for toiletries in the bathroom We liked the age of the house, it was clean

The entire guest home was very clean and tidy. Our hostess was friendly and welcoming during the tour of the shared spaces. The kitchen had shared space for guests to cook meals and store food in the fridge/freezer. There is a beautiful siting area in the lobby. The room we were in had a thick piece of foam on top of the mattress. It was super uncomfortable and we rolled to the middle of the bed. I was quite disappointed in the quality of the mattress.

Our concierge Grace was incredible during our stay. We received an early check-in and she could still give us a full walk-through and advice on the area around us and transportation. She was extremely professional and kind. The space was amazing with a gorgeous front room with games and free tea/coffee. The kitchen was very clean and well-kept. The room was beautiful and very clean with a much bigger bathroom than expected. A little noisy as the walls seemed thin but that's to be expected in an old building like this one.

The check-in was poor. I had not received an email advising me of the details (it arrived after I had phoned the number on the door). However, Orla who was 'on reception' when we arrived was very pleasant and helpful. I thought the room dingy and run down and did not represent good value for money. Also the hot water was tepid at best for a shower at 0730. Overall I would not recommend this guest house

I don’t usually complain, but I Was not impressed that I had to park three blocks away to stay here, the ad said parking onsite and on street. It did not mention that people had to compete with residents for a parking spot! Could not even bring my luggage because it was far away and I couldn’t carry it that far. Then we get there and my room is up two flights of stairs, which for someone with muscle issues wasn’t great. I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and was greeted by a big spider walking across my foot. The bathroom floor was dirty. The internet didn’t work which was not convenient at all as there was no tv in our room either. The place was nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable but the lack of parking on site and stairs were very inconvenient.

A bit off of downtown, abt 1 mile. Cabs were cheap if you don't want to walk. Mostly residential area. Very nice and quiet. Property is in good shape and very clean. Staff was very helpful. There is a kitchen available for your use.

As person that adores older architecture… this place was perfect. And the views of the castle behind you while you have tea/coffee and breakfast… speechless. The staff are very helpful, kind and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this place. I will be back. The only downside is the walk downtown is 35mins. Beautiful walk though!

We loved the house, very interesting history and so close to the castle! It was very comfortable and the staff exceptional. I suggest an improvement to the coffee available; maybe a better coffee machine in the lounge. It's a great facility for guests and very welcome. Nice to talk with other guests!

The place felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The staff were only on premises for a couple of hours in the afternoon and morning, and a lot of amenities were self-serve. The room was small and hot, and the bathroom was tiny. They did have a good breakfast however.

The Guesthouse is in a lovely old neighbourhood about a 20 minute walk from the Inner Harbour. Craigdarroch Castle is next door and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is close by. The decor is traditional and you can pay $10 for a traditional egg and bacon breakfast with a warm croissant and jam. There is also a guests' kitchen where you refrigerate or store food.
