Stayed 4 nights

I stayed at Hulot for four nights and overall it was a decent stay, but a few things let it down. Check-in was quick and easy, but I was told to use the stairs to reach the top floor and wasn’t told my room was next to the common area. After walking up five floors, I realised there was actually a working lift, as well as a shared kitchen right next to my room. The room itself was lovely - clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately, being next to the kitchen and terrace meant there was a lot of noise. I was regularly woken up by other guests and even the washing machine. As a solo female traveller and a light sleeper, I didn’t get a good night’s sleep during my stay. I feel a curfew for the common area or improved soundproofing would make a big difference, as every sound from the kitchen echoed straight into my room. I also received a towel with holes in it, which was disappointing for a hotel of this standard. Overall, the stay was good and the location is very convenient. However, had I been able to sleep better, my experience would have been far more enjoyable. While I appreciate the availability of communal facilities, being placed in a room directly next to them made it difficult to relax.

Room was really clean and tidy, comfortable bed and a nice large ensuite. No tea making facilities etc in the room but it isn’t that sort of hotel and also they have a superbly equipped communal area where you can cook; brew up; and to top it off, there’s a lovely little roof terrace which turns into a sun trap.
