You can judge places and people by their response when things do not go right. We had a small emergency in the middle of the night. The staff here were brilliant. Thank you. This is a large hotel so breakfast, which was excellent, was quite busy but there are notices advising of the busiest periods. Very good location. Small gym and great rooftopswimming pool. .

If you want a cheap convenient place to stay along the river in Singapore then this is a good option. My personal issues were that the gym was under refurbishment and despite the size of the hotel, the gym itself became very crowded with more than two people in it. The other issue I had was with the coffee shop on the ground floor which was run independently of the hotel, and despite offering a breakfast option didn’t open till after 10:30 am and on Monday didn’t open until nearly 1 pm. Bedroom was comfortable, towels okay, toilet paper okay, and in terms of getting around Singapore, ready available taxis in the area. It is walking distance from a fairly good supermarket as well. For those of you like me who don’t drink, they had no 0% alcohol free drinks/beer. So if you want somewhere convenient very well priced and adequate then this is a good option. I personally will probably look for better alternatives in terms of facilities for a gym which I thought was poor.

I stayed here for five nights. The front desk staff were awesome and gave me early check-in at no extra cost. The pool was fantastic, but they had hardly any umbrellas (only four, and two weren’t working) so they really need more shade for those who want to lounge in the afternoon. The room was small but comfortable, though housekeeping could’ve kept it cleaner. The buffet breakfast was delicious and included. The hotel is near two MRT lines, about a 5–10 minute walk away. Overall, it was not a bad stay!

I had read previous reviews stating that they weren't in love with the breakfast buffet but I thought it was great...especially for free. Some of the item changed daily and the staff does a great job of keeping everything full. It is literally a 5 minute walk to Clarke Quay where there is tons of restaurant choices and a river boat cruise that starts from there. My only complaints would be one day our bathroom sink never got cleaned. I would totally recommend this hotel and would stay again fo it's location

The reception and breakfast staff were very helpful, friendly, and courteous. However, compared to my last visit, the room this time was very noisy. Also, there were a few 'flying bugs' in the bathroom (possibly from the basin drain) on the first day, but they disappeared after cleaning it out/rinsing it a few times.

The pool was v nice. Great location close to China town and Clarke Quay. V small room, tiny shower room but bed comfy. Fine for one night but no room to unpack or store cases if staying longer. Main problem was the noise. Zero sound insulation so constantly being woken by people in corridoors or other rooms. We had a terrible night's sleep. As my husband put it, you could hear a mouse fart 3 rooms away. Will not stay here again for this reason.

Easy check-in and check-out. Modern, clean room. Comfy, firm bed. Provides both firm and soft pillows. Room serviced daily. Breakfast was much better than expected, lots of choices. Rooftop area had great lounging areas, with pool and gym. Only downside to room was no centre light, with all lights being over the bedhead, so it made the room poorly lit. Location wise, it was 8mins walk to Fort Canning MRT, some bus stops were even closer. Clarke Quay was about a 7mins walk away.

Very noisy especially during the night. Doors have no acoustical properties. Public transportation is too far. Swimming pool is great but umbrellas do not work .

This was our fourth stay at Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay and honestly, I don’t feel the need to stay anywhere else. We initially chose it because of its great location. It’s within walking distance of China Town, the MRT, and dozens of restaurants along the river. But we keep coming back because it just checks all the boxes: the staff are welcoming and attentive, the amenities are great, and the rooms are supremely comfortable. It’s a very busy hotel, but it is so well-run that we’ve never had to wait long for any kind of service. Even when the hotel is full, the rooms are very quiet and conducive to a good night’s sleep. We have never had a bad experience and fully intend to stay there again on our next trip to Singapore.

Every staff member I dealt with was friendly and helpful from your security officer to your receptionists and your kitchen and wait staff. Your receptionist, ET, was just the best. She helped me very much. I think you should consider putting her in a more responsible position with higher pay. I could see that she is a dedicated, hard working and responsible employee. If I come back to Singapore I will definitely stay at your hotel.

The hotel is spotless, and the staff works endlessly to answer any request. Front desk attendant, Phya, answered each question quickly. Later, she helped us find the way to some sites we heard about. Since we left the hotel, we have made one reservation in December, and we will set up one in January. (Seeing that I live in Florida, USA, I rely on local folks for ideas on places to stay. Stayed here twice in within a week (one night each time/booking). Our check-in was easy but we waited a long time as it seemed all other guests in queue had problems and reception staff had to discuss and leave desk etc to deal with these other guests. Disappointing, that as booked with Expedia no recognition / perks given that we were One Rewards members. The shower room on rooftop for use pre/post checkin is a nice idea, but reality is 2 small cubicles with complicated taps (so had cold shower) in a small dressing area without a door to the open air (showers had doors). Lots of clean towels. Reception staff were not friendly at all, certainly couldn’t say unfriendly just robotic, seemed bored or lifeless. They did let us leave luggage from noon check out to later in day when we were heading to airport - but luggage room is too small for amount of cases they had to deal with and our bags were just left in busy reception; we had been told they’d be moved to secure area when available (we could see this was empty) but this didn’t happen. Room we booked was very small, bathroom was tiny. Very poor and very basic breakfast selection so had to eat out which was shame as had thought that expense was covered. Signage (room numbers/lifts) in corridor was an odd colour, had to play hunt the lift a few times. Good location for eating out at Clarke or Robinson Quay, just few minutes walk.

Sehr gutes Hotel in der Nähe des Clark Quay. Verkehsmäßig gut angebunden. Pool auf dem Hoteldach ideal bei den Temperaturen in Singapur. Von der Dachterrasse hat man (noch) einen eindrucksvollen Blick auf die Skyline des Finanzdistrikts und Downtown Singapur. Auf dem Nachbargrundstück wird derzeit ein Appartment-Tower gebaut. Die Baustelle bemerkt man derzeit nur optisch. Mit Fertigstellung des Towers dürfte aber der Blick auf die Skyline vorbei sein. Trotzdem würde ich das Hotel wieder buchen.

Holiday Inn Clarke Quay is a beautiful property located about a 10 minute walk from Clarke Quay and about a 15-20 minute walk from Chinatown where you'll find great food at Hawker centers. The free breakfast was a real treat with a large selection of food from the usuals like bacon/sausage, eggs, waffles to a variety of Asian and Indian dishes. The rooms were smaller but comfortable enough for 2 people. MRT stations are 10-15 minutes away so you can get to a lot of main attractions either by foot or train. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The accessibility to Chinatown area is excellent, just a 5-minute or so walk away. I like the hotel's emphasis on sustainability: the public areas are actually open air, so this is a nice change from the closed-in A/C environments usually found in hotels. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional, and very accommodating in allowing me to store my luggage while out sightseeing. My only two negatives were the high room rate, and the breakfast buffet choices were more limited than expected.

We have stayed here approx 5 times because it is close to everything. First was when it was 1 year old. Breakfast is going downhill. Fruit is nearly nonexistant. No bottled water anymore. No moisturiser. No milk in rooms. Had to go out & buy our own. Less shade in pool area. Umbrellas are always out of order. Staff are always friendly & helpful. We will consider whether to stay here again.

The hotel was modern, felt new and everything was in good order. Roof garden and swimming pool were excellent. Breakfast was generally very busy and although there was plenty of tables using the outside space, it was let down by the coffee machines. That sounds odd but they were very slow, frequently broke down and joining a line of several people it could take 10 minutes to get a coffee. Come on Holiday Inn Express, that should be an easy fix but was a constant irritant in our 6 night stay.

Great hotel in a great location. Room and bathroom on the smallish side but comfortable and well appointed. Excellent breakfast included but the advertised restaurant was not available at other times. However, it was an easy walk to a variety of eating places. Terrific rooftop pool.
