The hotel is over 100yrs old. I loved the idea of the history of the Inn. We were on the third floor( with no lift but we knew that coming in) with a nice view of the fish pond in the back yard. This made a nice hub while visiting the park. They had wifi, cable tv and dvd player with several dvds to view in the parlor area. I really enjoyed sitting by the pond at night and watching the fish. This is not a chain hotel and I was ok with that. We had a great time and would stay here again if we ever find ourselves back in WA.

There was no ice machine. The clerk said i would need to drive the 5-10 miles to town to get ice. First hotel i ever stayed in that had no method of getting ice. Since covid, customer support had gone down down down.

Great property with wonderful character. Less than a mile from park entrance. Each room unique. Wifi was good. Watched a couple of movies from DVD collection. The breakfast basket was really appreciated in the remote location (thank you Jim). This is not a standard hotel with front desk.

the lodge is old but nice and comfortable. The steps to go to second floor are very small so you have to be careful. The parlor area is well maintained with Piano, chess and other activities. Enough parking available and the location is very close to the park entrance.

This property feels abandoned. It hasn't been updated in years (decades?) - there are spider webs everywhere, it smells, everything feels dusty. There is no staff to check you in or front desk. The walls and doors are VERY thin so you can hear neighbor guests, even across the hall. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends.

We had a great stay at Alexander’s Lodge. Easy self check in and out. We stayed in the Glacier Cabin and it was nicely decorated, very clean, and everything we needed, including a private place to sit on a deck. The delivered breakfast basket was a nice touch and very much appreciated. Cute idea!! Thanks!!

I recently stayed at Alexander Lounge and was quite disappointed. The building is very old, and the room had a strong, unpleasant musty smell. My room was facing the highway, so it was extremely noisy throughout the night with cars passing one after another. On top of that, the soundproofing was terrible – I could clearly hear every step from the room above me. Overall, it was not a comfortable stay.

There was a very unpleasant smell inside Alexander’s Lodge. It seemed like mold, cats, or sewage , I am not sure exactly, but the odor in the room and throughout the property was very strong and unpleasant.

We had two rooms. The first was in the main building and was fine, number 11. Plenty of space, comfy mattresses on the bed and pull out. Then we moved to the wonderland suite. I know the place is old and the rooms are small but in the wonderland there was so much big furniture that we had to rearrange things just to use the pull out couch and then there was no room to put any of our luggage at all. This could be easily remedied by changing the furniture like the giant cabinet in the bedroom and the over sized chair in the living room and the giant coffee table. We were tripping on eachother trying to get to the bathroom. Even if just two people were there there would be no place for luggage except for all over the floor. Also there was a lot of dust stuck to the popcorn ceiling and it was blowing around which was a little disappointing. Also the pull out mattress was terrible- all springs, and the king sized bed was sagging in the middle. I wouldn’t stay in that room again.

The hotel and room are old, but very nicely maintained and decorated. There are restaurants and shops a few miles away. It is very close to the entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. The room is small, but it is the only hotel around, and it is very clean. The room we had lost power at night and didn’t come back until second day morning. Overall it is a nice experience.

Cute place with unique rooms. Room was definitely small but very clean. Absolutely needs some places to hang jackets, put toiletries and store snacks. Very convenient for traveling with a dog and the grounds were gorgeous. Everyone we talked to was friendly and nice. Breakfast basket had great options to start your day. Room refrigerator froze our leftovers despite us attempting to adjust it so ruined a few things. The room we chose (15) was advertised and showed photos of an electric wall mounted fireplace and bidet and neither of them were there. Overall we had a nice stay and would probably stay again.

This is such a beautiful property! We are so lucky to have gotten a night here to stay after visiting Rainier. The only minor issue we had was with the shower head— it definitely took some work to take a because of the angle of the shower head and it seemed to not come out of the shower head very well. Thanks again for a wonderful stay and we hope to come back in the future!

Convenient location, very close to the national park entrance. Environment is excellent, having a pretty pond with fish. Room is a little small but with all necessary amenities, decor is really nice. Staff are very friendly.

This is a pretty unique property. There were things I really liked about it and things I really didn't. Things i liked: common room with board games and dvd and generally nice vibes. Fish food for purchase so the kids can feed the fish at the pond. Nice trails nearby that's very quiet and quaint. Things I didn't like: no staff until 4-7PM. There's a number to call but no in-room phones and our cell phones were not working. Maybe other people have wifi calling or something but we really just needed to ask some simple questions real quick. No ice machine afaict but we didn't realize until we were in a rush to go. Breakfast requires 24h advanced ordering which I missed so didn't end up having breakfast. No elevator for luggage, not a huge deal, but staircase also seems old and rickety. And maybe for breakfast just offer some default options instead of requiring 24h advanced ordering. Some people are on the road with kids for a bit and just loses track of the todos. My suggestion is that the property should have a number to text or email with quick turnaround for quick questions.

Quaint 1920s place to stay with a Vintage feel. While some updates to the place could be made, it is perfectly functional and an excellent location to the Nysqually entrance of Rainier national Park. Chris was exceptionally helpful, friendly knowledgeable and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!

Alexander’s was so charming and felt like our home away from home while visiting Mt. Rainier due to its warmth and hospitality. Many little touches made us instantly adore it, but the best part was Summer, who works there and made sure we were taken care of while still affording us autonomy. For instance, we came out the first morning to our rental car covered in snow, but she was so kind to clean it for us when we realized we didn’t have a scraper or anything to use. Anyone staying near Ashford should choose Alexander’s, and say hello to Summer for us!

Perfect location for our Mt. Rainier trip. We got there late at night, we pick up the key as instructed in the email. Check-in staff available until 8pm only. Helpful staff to assist us. Charming lodge, clean room, breakfast basket included in our stay. Nice outdoor sitting area. I highly recommend it.

Probably not the Lodges fault and most likely Expedias, but I arrived to check in after a very long day and they said they could not find my reservation. I had it on my phone and had received a breakfast request and everything two days before my arrival from the lodge itself, but they said my room was not available as it was assigned to someone else and they could not find my reservation although I had a confirmation. Seemed like an ok place from the outside and the front desk was nice in trying to figure out what happened just unfortunate that this happened and we had to drive all the way back to Seattle and find somewhere to stay

Nice historic property just outside ranier. A couple of restaurants within walking distance. Lots of uneven floors, etc but super clean and lots of character. Summer the assistant manager was there to welcome us and tell us goodbye. She was great. We will be back.

Great location at the Nisqually entrance of Mount Rainier, to a great restaurant/café a block away. We stayed upstairs and the only thing of note is that the stairs were built many years before building codes standardized them. They steps themselves weren’t very deep and were also steep, but not unmanageable. Just worth noting if that kind of a thing is an issue. There was a handrail and signage reminding you to take precautions.

Check in was easy and convenient. The room was clean and comfortable however it could use more lighting-a second table lamp would have been very helpful. While I recognize that a breakfast “nook” is not practical, the offering gs for the breakfast basket was very sparse. I feel that offering even packaged sweet rolls or something more than 2 hard boiled eggs, a small can of juice and a lunchbox sized package of raisins or peanuts would be nice.

Pros: location very close to Mount Rainier and they email you back quickly Cons: place is worn looking. No ice machine on site. Breakfast is a frozen Jimmy Dean sandwich and fruit. No one meets you at check in. Keys are just taped to a door. A table to eat at is right by in room bathroom. Heating is from very old wall heater. Roomed smells when it comes on.

Great location, just outside of the park (you need a reservation to get into the park so plan ahead). You also should plan on getting in the park before 10 am or after 3pm or you'll be waiting in a huuuuge line. Lodge was nice and had DVD's to borrow which was fun, breakfast was a little sparse but good.

In real life Alexander Lodge looked quite different than the website photos. Pretty rundown with property looking unkept. The gift shop was not open, no lobby area with staff person available. Breakfast included was advertised but that was WAY over stated. Ordering 48 hours in advance for a small sack to be left at your front door is not exactly the expectation of 'breakfast included'.
