This was a beautiful gem in the center of Oaxaca. A two story Colonial? era building. Super quaint. Nice rooftop bar and pool. Very nice restaurant in the courtyard. There is no elevator so be ready for some stair climbing. A repeat for sure

Great alternative to fancier hotels but just as nice. The location is the best for all activities in OAXACA. A few blocks from Plaza Santo Domingo and the Zocalo. Lots of stores and restaurants nearby. The breakfast is included and it is great. The rooms are small and dark but that is because we were away from the main road. The rooms on the main road while having a balcony are more noisy. The pool was cold. Great stay and would do it again.

If you’re coming to Oaxaca stay here. It is right on the Main Street and yet once inside you wouldn’t know as it is peaceful. There is a small unheated pool on the roof with a few sun loungers and a bar, great for the late afternoon sun after a days shopping or site seeing. Everyone is lovely, do your best to learn some Spanish although there are English speaking staff, it goes a long way.

This hotel is perfectly situated in a street that is closed to motor vehicles, with lots of shopping and dining options very close by. Everything inside is spotless and the staff is kind and highly professional. Bags can be stored before or after check in at no charge. The rooftop pool and bar is lovely with gorgeous views. Breakfast options are free, delicious and are part of the room cost. I will definitely stay here again in the future when I come back to Oaxaca. The only slight deterrent was the loud noise from nearby bars open late on Saturday nights. The front staff brought me ear plugs to help me fall asleep. The A/C and hot water work perfectly at this hotel.

The Parador De Alcala is absolutely fantastic! It is on a busy walking street so you are in the heart of everything yet you hear nothing in your room. Our room’s ceiling was about 25 feet tall. It was very clean and extremely comfortable. The beds were great. The bathroom was roomy and modern. There is a lovely little pool on the roof top with a delightful bartender in the rooftop bar. The hotel is the perfect combination of old Oaxaca charm with modern conveniences. There are lots of galleries, restaurants and shops making the location perfect. The highlight of our stay truly were the staff. From the chamber maid to the waiters and right up to the front desk crew, they were so helpful and really kind. They are what make this hotel even more remarkable. They had great answers for even the silliest question. I will definitely stay here the next time I am here am in Oaxaca and I hope you don’t miss this opportunity as well.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind schnell erreichbar. Das Zimmer war groß und sauber. Schlafen war nur bei geschlossenem Fenster möglich, da von 22 bis 5 Uhr drei Häuser weiter in einem Club die Bässe tobten und das Publikum auf der viel befahrenen Einbahnstrasse ordentlich Lärm machte. Trotz guter Lärmschutzfenster störte das. Beim Frühstück war die Auswahl begrenzt, wollte man anderes, musste man zahlen.

Great ambiance for earlier, more genteel times. This hotel is charming. It is very centrally located between the cathedral and the downtown central plaza. Rooms are up-to-date with every amenity including central air. My balcony opened onto the main street for a fabulous view of Day of the Dead parades and celebrations. Breakfast was great! I liked everything about this charming hotel in a magical city. I would return in a heartbeat. There for a destination wedding at the cathedral. The trip was superb with the hotel being a major piece of a great time.

Personnel très attentionné et sympathique. Excellent petit-déjeuner avec nombreuses options, pas un buffet. Très bel établissement, entièrement rénové. Jolie terrasse. Le hic: nombreuses chambres sont petites, sans fenêtre pouvant être laissée ouverte la nuit donc climatisation obligatoire même si les nuits sont fraîches.

Excellent position in Oaxaca. Close to shops, restaurants and bars. The parades pass the front of the hotel which are amazing to watch. All staff are attentive. Breakfasts are wonderful and included in the room price. The pool is a welcome addition with pool side bar, a treat. Some bathrooms have an opaque glass door which was not to our liking, alsowindows do not open to the outside hence 4 stars overall.

For location excellent. The delux room was big, high ceiling, but sparse. Bed comfy, no coffee or tea making, nor a fridge. Eating area literally outside the room, so a little noisy as they set up for breakfast. Breakfast was a bit meh ! Coffee weak, juice OK, but eggs and main fare a bit stodgy and tasteless - we gave up day 2 and went to local cafe, that was nice. If you don’t want to trip to ruins or museums (we’d been to Mexico City first so seen loads) then 2 days is enough.

We stayed there in October for a wedding. The room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly. Service in little cafe wasn't as attentive as I would've liked, but not the end of the world. The location I felt was perfect. Within walking distance to what we were interested in seeing. Only suggestion for the property would be to brighten the lights in the bathroom. They seemed dim. I'd like to compliment the on site travel services provided by Viaje Logica. In particular Margarita Morales. She never tired of my questions, and got us on a couple of excursions which gave us some very nice family experiences. From the above and beyond category, Margarita got us a very nice driver who took us to one of the Mezcal producers outside of town. Well, as luck would have it, I put down the bag with our bottles in it. I called the hotel front desk, and the young lady called the driver. He actually drove all the way back out to the shop and was able to locate our bag and brought it to us in the morning. Very impressed with their level of customer service.

Everyone there was wonderful. From the front desk staff who recommended a yummy tacos spot late at night, to the people who served breakfast, to the solo female bartender at the pool, we would stay here again in our next Oaxaca trip. Location was excellent. About a 10 min walk to most everywhere we wanted. Lots of shopping in the area. Room was clean and AC was cold! The hallways smelled wonderful. The breakfast was DELICIOUS. Thank you everyone for making us feel so taken care of.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Conveniently located two blocks away from Templo de Santo Domingo, many restaurants, artisan shops, markets, and a pharmacy and you can easily walk to many if the city highlights. The hotel is very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive. The breakfast included on our stay was a major plus and delicious. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Oaxaca ans will be recommending it to friends!

I don’t ever leave reviews normally . But this particular place the staff was very attentive and courteous. The last day there I got hurt the staff all tended to me as if I were family . They showed true compassion. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely go back.

I tend to be a bit wary of boutique hotels, but this time around location was key for me so I chose to stay at el Parador. The hotel is located in the city center, within walking distance of various sites. Taxis and buses are also easy to catch. Shopping and dining options are plenty. It’s a very small and intimate hotel which I enjoyed. Hotel upkeep and condition is excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful. The area is very congested but despite the noise level, my room was quiet. I didn’t stay for very long but hope to stay again on my next visit.

Fantastic location, internal beautiful courtyard, and the breakfast was very hearty. It is in the center so there is some boisterous noise Saturday night, but it has nothing to do with the property. Definitely worth it for the central location.
