Perfect location, surrounded by restaurants and bars and right across from the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara, with amazing views of the city, and the funicular that takes you straight to Avenida da Liberdade. Hotel was gorgeous - both public and private areas brimmed with historical elements and we felt like we were living in a nobleman’s house during Lisbon’s Golden Age (but with all the modern conveniences you could ask for). A special highlight was the cave-like gym crowned with brick arches. Service was warm, humorous and friendly. It was a privilege to spend a couple of nights here and we can’t wait to be back.

Great hotel in a great location. Two recommendations for a potential guest: first ask for a room on the higher floor (4 or 5) as the street below can be a little loud at night, second there is absolutely no parking space in front of the hotel but they have a very efficient valet service so please ask for help unloading your baggage right away if you drove there.

Beautiful building in a great location. Welcoming, friendly service. Interesting features: a wine experience in which we learned a great deal about Portuguese wines, and a taste of port at our leisure. Lovely little house made snacks placed in the room daily. Walking distance to many restaurants and sites. Excellent on site restaurant.

Hotel bien situado pero no recomendable para personas con movilidad reducida pues la zona es terrible por sus estrechas aceras. El hotel dispone habitaciones muy amplias, ese es el lujo de este establecimiento, el espacio. Decoración sencilla, sin lujos pero con calidad. Detalle gastronómico todos los días en la habitación. Buena insonorización pues la zona tiene mucho ambiente nocturno. Gimnasio bien equipado. Buen desayuno, bien servido, con variedad, aunque poca fruta, y preparan cualquier cosa de su amplia oferta de desayuno en un momento. El personal de recepción muy atento para proporcionar la ayuda necesaria. El único problema es el aparcamiento. Delante del hotel no hay sitio y en un lateral pueden parar un momento dos coches, mientras dejas la llave en recepción para que lo aparquen no se sabe dónde ya que el hotal no dispone de parking, por un precio de 25 €. Si ese pequeño espacio de parada está ocupado puedes provocar un buen atasco pues delante del hotel hay tráfico intenso.

Housekeeping was extremely attentive. Snacks were waiting for us every afternoon. The Wine Experience, or flight of 3 wines and some bites, was a great way to connect with the sommelier and some other guests. Breakfast had a ton of good options and a wide enough timeframe to accommodate early risers and late sleepers. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit. A number of terrific restaurants within walking distance, our favorites were: Cevicheria and José Avillez’s Mini Bar.

Note though, the restaurant plays loud music on weekends until 11:30pm, so if your room faces the inner courtyard, you’ll enjoy the music… Cons: the hotel is on a narrow street, very busy and noisy 24/7, with cars, buses, trolleys, and partygoers on weekends. Avoid rooms on EU 1st floor (US 2nd floor) facing the street at all cost, and probably EU 2nd floor as well, due to noise (despite double glaze windows). Room 101 in particular is an absolute no-no, it is literally stuck between the street and the front desk.

We had an amazing time at Ludovice Wine experience. The room was immaculate. All of the fine details; pillow firmness, refilled water and snacks every day in the room. Daily wine tastings with Brunna and Miguel. The location is ideal to explore Lisbon and most of the top areas to explore are within close distance including tram 28. The staff go above and beyond. We will definitely be back.

Excellent, clean rooms in a charming hotel. I was robbed several blocks from the hotel, and the staff were invaluable. Sadly, Bairro Alto is a cesspool overrun with pickpockets, pushers and drunk folks urinating and puking in the streets. That said, the hotel is excellent, and you can avoid the chaos and crime in Barrio Alto by staying out of the area, especially at night. The police are reluctant to file a report.

My wife and i absolutely loved this hotel. As frequent worldwide travellers, we have stayed at some of the nicest hotels globally and this one was nothing short of excellent. Amazing location, beautiful, very clean, great large rooms, fantastic bed, beautiful washroom (with built in Bluetooth speakers and heated floors) wonderful staff. Nothing negative to say. Don’t hesitate in booking/staying here.

Great 5 star hotel in the very busy and popular Bairro Alto. Our junior suite was quiet, but dark and at the back of the hotel with absolutely zero view. That was disappointing for $750 per night.

The hotel is beautiful. Our room had 3 balconies over a busy square and we were worried about noise. We were wrong, the sound proof windows made sure we did not hear a thing.

This property was located in a very busy and popular area. It was across the street from the funicular which made it easy to travel into the downtown area. The staff was amazing of the property was gorgeous but our room was insanely difficult to get to. It would take well over a minute walking around the floor is up and downstairs in order to reach our room. I would recommend this property to anyone but to not get room number 108 it is believe me you don’t want that room

This is a unique property in a central location. We lucked out and scored a room overlooking the miradour. The property is absolutely stunning. This truly is a five star hotel. I am very picky about mattresses, and this hotel 100% delivered.

It is really a palace with four inch thick doors 12 foot wide staircases and soaring ceilings. The courtyard is magazine worthy and you'll never hear a sound due to two foot thick walls and solid stone floors. The room amenities are complete, anything you can think of they have it checked off. I have travelled the world, I can't think of a kinder staff.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately, our experience at Palacio Ludovice fell short of expectations—particularly due to the disappointing service we encountered from the front desk and concierge team. Great location within walking distance to everything! However, the elevators from town was not running so we had to walk up the steep hill daily from town. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast offered a variety of continental food as well as an Ala carte menu. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay again!!!

Absolutely loved this hotel. Beautiful rooms with great decorations, furnishings and beds/sheets. Rooms were spacious, as was the bathroom. Great location in Principe Real and walkable to many of the main attractions. Our room was a deluxe and we had a great view of the city and the castle. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Bar area was great and the restaurant area was beautiful. We only ate breakfast there (which was very nice) but people seemed to enjoy lunch and dinner. I would stay again in a minute and would recommend to anyone.

My sister and I stayed here for her 50th birthday celebration trip. The historic beauty of this hotel is still evident while having all the modern updates as well. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we were both shocked we couldn’t hear a peep of noise from outside! Wonderful location as well!

Sadly, Bairro Alto is a cesspool overrun with pickpockets, pushers and drunk folks urinating and puking in the streets. That said, the hotel is excellent, and you can avoid the chaos and crime in Barrio Alto by staying out of the area, especially at night. The police are reluctant to file a report.

Beautiful hotel and staff. Our room was well appointed and each night they left sweet treats for us. Such a nice touch. The staff was wonderful and very helpful with recommendations. Breakfast was lovely, the only improvement that I would make is that orders of egg dishes took a very long time in the morning. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Beautiful, historic hotel in a great location! Staff were very helpful and even remembered our names. Every day we came home to a sweet snack and a bottle of local spirits to help us learn more about the country. The restaurant and bar are beautiful areas and breakfast was bountiful. The hotel was spectacular, all the amenities you could ever want in a hotel. Location was perfect, had a view from our deluxe room of the castle which is lit up at night. Our room was big and beautiful, the hotel offers you 2 free glasses of port. Every night they leave delicious desserts and a small bottle of port or a local liquor. The breakfast was buffet style but you could order anything you wanted made to order. The bar is well appointed and our bartender Daniel makes a great Manhattan! Miguel the sommelier conducted a free wine tasting in the evenings and explained all about Portuguese wine regions, he also recommended wines to go with our meals. The chef makes the mini hamburgers I’ve ever had, I ate them two nights in a row! I would highly recommend this hotel.
