Segunda vez que lo visitamos! A favor: 1. Todo el personal desde los botones, recepcion, aseo, meseros, educados y siempre te saludan ( esa amabilidad me sorprendio) 2. Alimentos muy buenos! Staff was friendly. For an all inclusive the food in buffets was really good and quite a lot of healthy options. I recommend the Japanese restaurant- the food was great and the chef was entertaining. This is a great resort for those with allergies or celiacs! When we checked in the staff asked about food allergies and at all restaurants they did as well. Im celiac and I had no reactions! This is a great resort for families with young kids as the children’s section and kids club!

Towels. Horrible towels and smelly at the rooms. Bathroom overall is not good. Small and the shower design makes the whole bathroom get flooded. We had to ask for more towels always to dry the floor. One time the housekeeping people told us they only can give us 4 towels per day. Pool maintenance is working during day time. Literally inside the pool with all people there trying to glue the mosaics of the pool. Kids pool need a full maintenance ASAP.

This property is outdated. There were 2 elevators of out service and I had to carry my own luggage down 2 flights of stairs. We didn't leave the property. It was too costly to cab/shuttle into PV. We rented a beach access junior suite and 3 out of the 7 days, there were construction workers with ladders on the patio in front of our slider, blocking our access to the ocean. It was very uncomfortable to have 2 men working outside on your patio. I couldn't sit in the loungers, so what is the point of upgrading my room? Iberostar promotes that they are eco-friendly have have no plastics on this site. They claim to have some high level filtration system and no bottled water is on site. I have been to Mexico 7 times. This is the only time my vacation was ruined by gastrointestinal issues from the food and/or water. I would not return to this property.

It's all good until something doesn't work. We've been here many times. 2014, 2016, 2021 and now 2025, just to see the hotel deteriorate. The elevators are either broken, have semi-open panels that let you see the cabling and electronics on the inside, or make very concerning noises. We've always accepted the pool increasingly deteriorating as we are more interested in the sea, and the location is stunning. Our nightmare started when we came back from the evening show to realise our AC was not cooling the room at all. First call placed around 22:00 and the concierge insisted that we closed the balcony door which I assured her many times that it already was. She said that she would send someone over. Half an hour later and I called to ask how much longer and found myself talking with someone else who told me that he didn't know what I was talking about as the nice lady I talked to earlier finished her shift, presumably without informing anyone. They tried to remotely switch the AC off and on a couple of times which didn't work. A technician finally came to have a look and said a part needs to be replaced and that will not happen until at least tomorrow. By that time it was already around 00:30 and we were still sitting in an unbearably hot room with an exhausted 6 year old! We were finally in a new room at ca 01:30 in the night only after getting seriously upset with the front desk. No apology or compensation was offered at the checkout the next morning...

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience because the online ratings for this hotel are shockingly misleading. From the moment we walked into our room, it was clear something was off. The room was absolutely filthy — stains on the bed, curtains, and pillows, plugs hanging dangerously from the walls, and visible dust caked onto the fan and air conditioning units. The bathtub was surrounded by a black grime and didn’t drain at all. The pool, which looked inviting in the photos, was surrounded by a thick, slippery layer of slime that made it completely unusable. We felt uncomfortable and unsafe staying here and left shortly after checking in. Thankfully, we were able to get a room at the Conrad next door, which was spotless and beautiful — a complete 180 in terms of cleanliness and quality. While the front desk staff was polite, they were unwilling to offer any refund or compensation for our early departure, which was deeply frustrating given the condition of the hotel. I genuinely believe many of the positive reviews are not reflective of reality. I recommend looking elsewhere unless the hotel undergoes a serious cleaning and management overhaul.

This hotel is in severe need of a renovation. My room on several occasions had no hot water, the mini fridge was not refilled and msid service was minimal. Maid literally picked up a used towel and rehung it! I left a geberoustip each day.

Staff was very friendly and helpful and the resort itself is beautiful. The food - absolutely terrible by day four I was so tired of being served pretty but flavorless slop I just stopped eating. Even beyond the buffet the Hibachi and steakhouse were terrible as well. Room service was even worse and you can't get any kind of beverage through room service ( coffee would have been very helpful. There were roaches in my room not totally infested but I saw at least 5 " breeder roaches " the kind that love to go home with you. The cleanliness of the room in general wasn't great. Even after housekeeping finished cleaning each day you could still see and feel the dirt on the floor. I had to throw away all of my socks because they were all black on the bottom from walking around my hotel room.

It’s been our 3rd time to this hotel but first time booking though Expedia. The room was super basic and AC wasn’t working as well and the humidifier was old. The room was very very outdated, not sure if they reserve the old rooms for Expedia members because the other two times I’ve booked directly with this hotel the rooms are spectacular and in a great spot. This room was far from everything and like I said old and outdated and needs a lot of repair, specially in the bathroom.

Honestly this hotel is pretty run down. Service is great they do their best and the communal areas are fine but the rooms leave a lot to be desired. Staff is very good and they have decent drinks. I went for a wedding. Wedding was awesome

The staff were amazing. Friendly, professional, helpful in every department. This hotel survives solely on the hard work of every member of staff. The rooms are horrible. For a so called 5 star resort they ate disgusting and are in serious need of refurbishment. Our bathtub was peeling and had mold around the fixtures. Everything just felt very old and used. The food is good, but the labelling needs improving. I have a dairy allergy and it was great to see the labels that were there advising of ingredients, but not every item was labelled (maybe 1 in 4) and so I couldn’t risk trying something without a label, which was the majority of things. I mostly stuck to salads, which were delicious and fresh.

El hotel estuvo en general bien la comida buena, sólo un pequeño detalle, nos tocó la habitación 3318 y el Rooftop quedaba justo arriba, se escuchaba demasiado los ruidos de las sillas que movían las personas que estaban arriba en el bar. Como sugerencia, recomiendo para evitar interrumpir el descanso de otros huéspedes que le pongan a las patas de las sillas, unas gomitas que venden en Internet que no creo que les cueste mucho conseguir para solucionar ese tema. We loved our stay with young kids, the best part about this resort is the staff! So attentive and kind and handled any request we had. The kids pool are was amazing and food was the best we have had at an all inclusive. The rooms definitely beed to be upgraded but everything was clean and a/c worked. Overall a great stay!

We received a room upgrade when we arrived at 1:30pm. However, we were told our room would be ready at 4pm. We went back to reception at 4pm and room was not ready. We finally got checked in at 5pm but when we arrived at room, the room was still not ready. We had to wait outside in heat in our regular clothes for another hour before room was finally ready. Also, we ordered room service just before 11pm. The order went through successfully. However, the food never came. No one wrote me back in the app either. The stay was still good but we lost valuable time on the front end. We would have never taken the upgrade if we were told that the wait would be almost 5 hours.

Don’t let the resort staff scam you into using resort credits. We’ve been to plenty of resorts and this is the only one where I’ve felt the staff isn’t friendly or welcoming. Between the front desk, the concierge team, the servers in restaurants we didn’t have one friendly face.

Food was excellent. We lost power to half of our room and it took overnight to get it fixed. They told us three times they would fix it and we had to go to the front desk in the morning where they were very rude.

We had a great time at Iberostar Selection Playa Mita. It was all inclusive and there were no surprise fees. We also enjoyed the variety of food options and restaurants. The kid activities were great for our family. It was a beautiful location. This hotel was a bit far from Puerto Vallarta but if you are looking for a resort experience this was excellent!

Iberostar is an easy hour ride from Puero Vallerta. The closet town was a town called Sayulita which was about 20 minutes. Sayulita was a magical cool little town. Iberostar was a very nice resort which could benefit from some room updating. The daytime lunch restaurant doubles as a night time steak house which was a 3/5. The food overall was good and had lot of options, but at an all inclusive level. The drinks were very good, especially the margaritas. The only beer at the resort is Dos Equis lager and amber. The pool and outdoor bars and beach were perfect for a relaxing sun filled vacation. I don’t think I would return to this exact Iberostar but would possibly visit others. Overall the vacation was an 8/10.

Estuvo muy bien todo, mas sin embargo no considero que sea un hotel de 5 estrellas, si lo que buscas es descansar esta muy bien, si lo que quieres es salir un rato del hotel no lo recomiendo pues esta lejos de todo, las bebidas no estan tan buenas las hacen a la carrera no le ponen empeñó, el personal atiende muy bien, no tenian agua embotellada todo es en los bares, los restaurantes de especialidad donde segun no tienes que reservar de todos modos te hacen esperar aunque haya mesas disponibles y no estan tan buenos, esta mejor el buffet por que agarras hasta jambarte y en los de especialidad no, el agua de alberca fria, tienes que caminar mucho en el hotel para llegar de un lado a otro pero todo bien. The only downside, it's miles away from anywhere !!! and the WORST part, they don't offer any shuttle service. The sign are there but they always have an excuse as to why, the want you want is not available. Be prepared to spend a lot on taxies (400 to 900 Pesos, depending where you want to go !)

My husband and I just returned from our stay there for our honeymoon. The staff and service were friendly and helpful! The cleaning services were also great. The only downfall was that there was no shuttle service. Expedia also doesn’t let you know this when booking. So be sure to have money for a cab! The app was really helpful when finding where things were and what time they opened at the resort. The restaurants had a long wait even if you showed up on time, but the buffet was always really good!

Very family friendly, however, this is one hour away from puerto Vallarta and it’s not always easy or cheap to get rides into puerto Vallarta. If you plan on spending a majority or all of your time at the resort this one is definitely worth it!

First time visiting punta mita. Chose this resort because of its high rated reviews. It's located about an hour north of Puerto Vallarta airport and about 30 minutes south of sayulita. Although there are lots of Americans and Canadians, It seems they cater more to upper middle class Mexican citizens (which is a good thing). They don't provide shuttle pickup from Puerto Vallarta airport. They gave me information to a company they work with but we took an Uber instead. Upon arrival we were greeted with cocktails and quickly checked in. We got the ocean front Junior suite. It has lots of space and a nice balcony with an amazing 180 ocean view. The room has a mini fridge that's wall stocked with soft drinks sparkling water and beer. On a side note It seems like they're pushing hard to get guests to sign up for their timeshares. We decided it's not worth our time. The resort has a good main buffet and another smaller buffet. They also feature some specialty dining restaurants: Japanese, French, steakhouse, Mexican, and a "new" seafood restaurant. All are included without extra charges. Reservation is required for the Japanese, steakhouse, and seafood. They're very strict on having reservations although even if the restaurant is empty it won't allow you to be seated. It didn't make a lot of sense in my opinion. We literally sad into restaurants that had barely a couple of tables occupied yet they turned away so many guests unnecessarily. I booked this hotel based on the reviews and the Iberostar brand, but it was honestly a big letdown. The room was cleaned well every day. Housekeeping did a great job and the room was always spotless. But everything else was disappointing. The buffet was the same every day, super bland and boring. The à la carte restaurants were terrible. I’ve stayed at many all-inclusives, and this was hands down the worst food I’ve ever had. The steakhouse served meat I couldn’t even chew, and the staff were rude. At the Japanese place, the sushi was hard and dry, and the teppanyaki was completely burnt. After that, I didn’t bother with any more restaurants and just stuck to the buffet, which didn’t help much. Room service was basically just food from the buffet. There’s only one pool and it was always packed. No bottled water in the room, so you have to go get water yourself. Towels were old, thin, and rough. They seriously need to be replaced. Entertainment and activities weren’t worth watching. Only good things were the beach taco bar and the ice cream by the pool. Ocean view from the room was nice. Some staff were friendly, but others were cold or rude. It really was hit or miss. This is not a 4.5-star resort. More like a 3.5 at best. I expected more from Iberostar. If you have other options, pay a bit more and stay somewhere else.
