It was epic! Check-in was a breeze, staff was friendly, the hotel was in excellent condition, complimentary parking was available and offered for hotel guests, the room was spacious/clean/quiet, and the town was amazing. The casino attached to the hotel was open 24/7. There were ghost tours of the hotel after 5pm. There’s a restaurant attached to the hotel with a small menu. The town of Deadwood is amazing and full of history, shopping, dining, and sightseeing opportunities. A must stay!!

The historical context was really important for us, and I think the hotel lived up to expectations - The staff were really friendly, the room was great (in that historical context), parking was easy, and the breakfast was good. The only negative for us (and we are not gamblers) is that most of the first/ground floor is dedicated to slot machines; that of course might be a huge positive for others.

Great hotel right on main street! Know about parking ahead of time…lot is behind hotel and you need a pass from front desk. Room was very nice. Bully’s restaurant was a disappointment. We waited 45 minutes for breakfast and it was just okay.

Right in the middle of action in Deadwood. If you are an early sleeper, would not work for you since the Casino has music playing until 10PM. But it did not bother us at all.

A beautiful historic hotel. Large room, large bathroom. Both nice and clean. The air condition is aged and quite loud. The rooms are upstairs, a cool historic elevator, downstairs are gambling machines. Breakfast was included but sad, just sweet rolls and coffee from a pump. But they said that this was an exception. Usually it's a normal breakfast in the basement. In the back of the building is a beautiful old bar with historic photographs on the walls.

We arrived early and, as expected, our room wasn't ready. Unfortunately the hotel has nowhere to store luggage so we had to leave it in our vehicle on a public car park which isn't ideal. At the time of writing, August 2025, the car park is free to guests as the hotel car part is under renovation, Check in was smooth and the room was large and clean. Staying in such an historic hotel while in Deadwood was fantastic.

Love the fact this building holds so much history. It is smaller in size and the parking it not optimal. You have a lot or parking garage (the later is a $10 for 24 hours) but nothing right at the hotel itself. Also ice machine wasn't functional, but was able to get ice from the restaurant.

I was excited to stay at the Bullock for the character and history which can be seen in the hotel. The bed was pretty bumpy, but I slept great anyways. There were flies in the room and I had to take some time to throw some dead ones out and kill some more. Otherwise it everything made sense for the price, a couple of stray hairs in odd places.

Beautiful historic hotel from the late 1800’s in a small easily walkable western town. Nice clean rooms, well kept building. Great bars and restaurants all over.

We will not be staying at this property again. It was somewhat attractive due to the age of the building and has a lot of history. Unfortunately when we arrived back to our room about 1:00 AM to finally go to bed, when pulling the covers back on the bed, we found evidence of bed bugs. The front desk was very helpful and we moved to another floor, another room.

Apart from the history and location, the Hotel is in terrible condition. Rooms are absolutely filthy and look like they have never seen a vacuum cleaner. Dead bugs on the windowsills, layers of dust on the non-functional blinds, gross bathrooms. There are several better options in town - I would pick another.

A fun historic place to stay in Deadwood. Itis small but service was good. There are bigger and newer places but the smaller place was nice. We did see some dead bugs in the window. Parking is free, but across the street.

The room and common areas were cool because they reminded me of what a fine hotel back in the late 1800s might have looked like. The only real problem was not enough hot water and pressure in the shower. But it is an old building so it gets a pass. It’s also too bad that every hotel in Deadwood has to have slot machines in their lobbies.

Perfect location and a good historic touch in every inch. But old has also some downsides, like noisy ventilation keeping me awake most of the night, worn out carpets and blinders that are out of function. I am happy to have stayed here, but will probably choose a newer hotel next time

I love historic hotels. This one was beautiful. However the room was so hot our faces turned red when we walked into the room. The second room they gave us was slightly better. No ghosts seen. They need to get the climate control right. I don’t know how they do it in the summer.

It's old and supposedly haunted, what more do you need? Absolutely beautiful rooms, very friendly staff, and a fun ghost tour. The only negative I can come up with is that the wi-fi was iffy in my room. I couldn't get it to hold a signal. I was on the second floor in a corner so maybe that's why? Definitely staying here again and again.

Both of the ladies at the front desk ignored our presence while checking us in. It was weird and as though we were interrupting their day. If the hotel management is requiring front desk staff to do admin work that requires concentration, they should not be sitting in front of customers. We were instructed on how to open the door to the room, however no one mentioned the special instructions for the temperature control—located next to the front door and not next to the thermostat. Apparently the fan and thermostat are separate. As a result, a very loud fan ran on high all night long and we got a horrible nights sleep. The room had a large foyer. Who would think to go to the front door to find instructions for the air conditioning? Put instructions next to the thermostat, too. Half of the lights in the bathroom and vanity area are burnt out, so really low light. The beds were very hard. $190/night (incl. tax) we felt was not worth it. I would have liked to give a better review.

Went there to sleep in the historic Bullock, not a luxury hotel. With that in mind, check in was very slow, as the person working reception didn’t seem familiar with the check in software. Got to the room, nice enough. Furnishings were pretty uncomfortable. (Wingback chairs were showing their wear, as the seat cushion was very thin, and the bed was well worn and lumpy). Besides comfort issues, the hotel had the look of a bygone era. Lots of ornate wood, historic decor and stories of haunts by Seth Bullock himself are why you come. Oh, and while someone gave a bad review because they sunk $150 into the slot machines, I didn’t have that issue.

The building is old, but kinda cool. Carpets were dirty, could use a good cleaning. Bartenders and cook staff were great and very friendly. Their dinner menu was really mor like bar snacks. Corn dog, jalapeño poppers, ect.. breakfast was decent which was good because you couldn't find breakfast anywhere. The reception desk was awful. Shannon that greets you is not pleasant, nor helpful. Our tv remote batteries were dead and when we asked her for batteries she said it wasn’t her job.

The sheets had clearly not been changed after the previous guest. The front desk worker was disinterested in waiting on me and not helpful at all. The second attendant that did finally help me was nicer, but kept walking away to assist gamblers in the casino while we waited.

It was great to stay right on Main St in Deadwood. It is a historic hotel so rooms are not fancy, they are neat and clean with comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and there was good hotel parking across the street. We would stay there again.

It’s a neat, historic hotel. Decent location. Nothing fancy about the rooms but clean. Not much for bar or dining facilities. Hotel and dining staff were mediocre (mostly the restaurant staff). Dining room only serves breakfast and the food was terrible. I would stay there again, but eat, drink and gamble somewhere else on Main Street.

We loved our stay at the historic bullock hotel! We stayed for 1 night, fair warning if you’re not into spooky stays it might not be for you but we had a blast! Plus if you do have a “ghostly” encounter they are nice, and just a bit curious :) staff was super friendly! And you drink for free if gambling! We loved our bartender and the breakfast was wonderful! Decent prices and a wonderful stay! Definitely worth a visit! Our bed was a little on the firmer side but still worth it! And AC works!

We thought the hotel was great when we arrived and our overnight stay was excellent. We were very disappointed in the restaurant staff in the morning. We were looking for a convenient good breakfast and read where the restaurant serves great meals. We went to the restaurant and the staff was very unfriendly and uncooperative in seating us and serving breakfast. They told us that they may not be able to serve us breakfast and we would have to wait 45 minutes before they could get to our orders. There were open seats in the restaurant and it appeared they didn’t want to serve us. We won’t be staying there again.
