Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort & Spa

Ignore the timeshare/ hotel points pressure . They say an hour out meeting took 2 1/2 hours and 6 sellers and we still said no . Spa facilities are wonderful Staff is friendly and pool options are lovely

The location of all the rooms and restaurants have great views of the ocean. The buildings are not in great repair and show signs of age. Buffet food is not great. The restaurant Olio was good and the Secrets food was nice. The pool at Dreams is in great shape and clean. The sister resorts pools are aged and dirty. Beach was nice but rocky. Entertainment team was great.

Great property overall, but small pool, limited dining options. Do not recommend agreeing to the sales pitch. Beach is adequate, lots of rock, so bring water shoes.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. I think it depends what you're looking for. It's a smaller, more intimate (albeit family-filled) resort without the amenities and selection of larger places, perfect for my wife and me (both retired)--but brings advantages and disadvantages. Great: attentive staff, walkable (5 min, end-to-end), good restaurants (no reservations needed), oceanside room really was right on top of the ocean, beach waiter service, snorkeling from the beach, small, casual shows each night outside the bar (Karaoke, Magic, etc.). Less-than-great: limited buffet, Preferred upgrade basically just meant a better view and access to restaurants at adjacent Sunscape & Secrets via shuttle cart and room service, small (and sometimes loud) pool, no 24-hour food/drink locales, some places could use more maintenance attention. All that being said, we would book there for our next visit to Cozumel.

Beautiful! Access to Sunscape and Secrets facilities is a big bonus!

We love this resort. We have stayed at Secrets and Dreams at this location. We love how quaint and close restaurants, pools, and activities are soooo close to the beach!! A beautiful view no matter where you are in these properties!

We liked the accessibility to Secrets. We actually ate a lot of the meals at Secrets. The pool volleyball was a lot of fun. Snorkeling was good. Lots of good beach for long walks. We will return to this resort after the renovation of Sunscape into a larger dreams/ secrets.

The place was clean and the service was excellent. The food is average, and authentic mexican cuisine is surprisingly limited. The dinner entertainment was terrible. Fir instance, the Mayan Dinner hosted by the sister resort Secrets Aura. It is nothing like the advertisement video they promote, and most of the dinner guests around us were visibly displeased with the quality of both the food and the entertainment. The spa services were amazing! We had hydrotherapy, a couple's massage, and reflexology treatment. Best spa we have been to! The sandy beach is beautiful, but the shoreline is very rocky, so bring swim shoes to protect your feet if you plan to swim or snorkel.

Nice property, Annato's restaurant was excellent but not open every day. Pizza restaurant only open for lunch, buffet was okay but not great. Only 1 pool and small beach within Dreams property, however Dreams, Secrets and Sunscape Sabor are all connected. Secrets (adults only) has the best beach and pools.

Staying at Dreams we could eat at Secret and Sunscape resorts. The food was excellent presentation,variety and good. Only struggle was getting lounging chairs by ocean. Very few with umbrellas. The bed in the room was bad. Overall great vacation.

The staff was helpful and wonderful to be around. The resort is all inclusive, the food at every restaurant was terrible, seemed as if everything was microwaved from Costco. After the 2nd night of our stay, we would take taxi to downtown to dine off property. Housekeeping would only refresh items if requested- needed to ask for the basics like more toilet paper. Each morning of our stay, pool towels were unavailable and when stocked, limit one per person. The pool and beach furniture were old, uncomfortable and covered in mold. Not enough pool/beach furniture for the guests. To obtain a chair, you needed to get it before 7am or you would not have a place to relax. Public restrooms had doors that didn’t close and needed to be better serviced. For the cost of what I paid per night, I was expecting higher quality food and better amenities.

It was not clean dirty walls and cushions in the chairs. The bedding set looked run down. The electricity went off.

This was the worst all-inclusive and vacation experience of my life. The room conditions were not to the level of the advertised standard. I had a room with several bugs and roaches, water leaks, mold and the food was not consumable. They finally changes my room after 2 days to a down gradec and never gave me a refund for the swimout room I paid for. I feel scammed with all of the false advertising. I had to travel through an abandoned resort to get to Secrets where they didnt have enough space to accomidate guests I will never go to this resort or recommend it to anyone. I have pictures to support the filthy room they gave me.

Very limited selection at buffets. Cleanliness of resort, specifically restrooms, was sub par. Both the safe and the in room scale did not work. Doors to hotel room didn’t close correctly.

Our first room was bug infested and not the cleanest

Basic room (garden view) we purchased on Expedia was upgraded to ocean view king. The views were spectacular and the room was immaculate. We have stayed at Dreams several times over the last 2 years and it still looks new and modern. Mini fridge was stocked and fresh fruit and chocolates were on the table. At this point, our travel-day stress began to fade. Since it had been a year since our previous visit, we still decided to walk around and check out the resort and see if we noticed any changes. We found the pools to be clean and clear, the bars were stocked with premium liquor, and re-invigorated menu items at the restaurants. Staff were courteous, polite and responsive. It’s hard to think of anything negative to say. If I had to say something negative about our experience, it would be that the house wine was not that palatable. Noteworthy: Karina - experienced, helpful manager Vicky - beach-side server with excellent memory Gloria - BEST omelet maker Alejandro, Fernando, Darvin- favorite restaurant staff Amilcar - hard working bell boy and always has a smile on his face Angel - expert at beach bar & Olio’s bar Rooms come with steamer, 5-10 hangers, and hair dryer. Pillows are fluffy and we slept so well! Plenty of outlets for charging all of your devices. Wifi even works while on the beach.

Lots of trash next to breezeway outside our room, staff acted put out when ordering a drink, couldn’t get a coke for breakfast because bar wasn’t opened yet, very rocky at edge of water, food not covered on buffet bar, birds were eating on it

We will not return. We went last year and had such a good time my husband and I went back again this year. We will not return. Hyatt took over this property a couple of years ago and are making changes in all the wrong ways. The food quality went from excellent to mediocre at best. We were woken up each morning at 8:30 by construction workers using a jack-hammer right outside our door (no exaggeration!). When we complained about the noise we were told we could change rooms if we felt it was necessary, but not until 3:00 or 4:00. There were no other concessions or solutions offered and the manager never contacted us (no surprise there). Our swim-out pool had a ring of green slime on the walls around it. I watched them clean the pool walls every day last year and not once this year. Overall, the property looks run-down. On the positive side, the snorkeling from the beach is excellent.

We loved snorkeling from the beach every day. There were a lot of sea creatures to discover. The grounds were nice, but certainly not immaculate. There was trash that was outside of rooms in the grass that was never disposed of despite being brought to the resorts attention. We got suckered into a high-pressure sales pitch that was pitched to us as only an advertisement for the other Hyatt hotels and resorts. This advertisement was only supposed to be 90 minutes…150 minutes later, we finally got out of it with the gifts they promised…won’t do that again! We should’ve known better, but we trusted that the concierge was being honest with us.

Rooms were clean but the walkways were very dirty. Looked like no one mopped the hallways in days. Ongoing construction at the beach was very loud. Would not have stayed at Dreams if we were aware of the loud noise at the beach.

The food was aweful. The internet was not very good either. Wasn’t worth the money.

Swim out room ocean front worth every penny!!!

We thought the resort was nice, no major complaints. We had a swim out pool room and we really liked that. The food could be better as far as choices and it was odd how some buffets wouldn't be open? Nice you could use Secret's facilities, but there buffet's would also be closed on random days. Entertainment was OK at night - nothing great. We did enjoy Hyedy(?) - she did a great job with the water exercise and other fun activities. Overall the stay was nice - just wished there were better food choices and maybe just ONE English speaking channel other the the hotel chanel. Couldn't relax and watch a movie or chill with TV - even though there was a huge TV in the room....

The view was amazing. Rooms were a bit damp but nice.

Dreams was beautiful but very small. Our room was an oceanfront swim up and it had the most amazing view literally steps from the ocean. If staying at this resort the ocean front buildings are the only ones I recommend. The pool was warm and the location was beyond perfect. The bed was a bit hard, but I like my bed crazy soft. The bathroom was big, clean, and no mold. The restraunts were beautiful and the food was ok. Certain dishes were delicious and others a bit bland. It is an AI after all. Their chicken mole was delicious and by far my favorite dish. The staff was awesome and really made the trip great. It is a family resort so you may be next to a family with 2 or 3 rowdy kiddos. For this reason I am not sure I would return. If they had an adults only building I absolutely would. <3. Happy travels!

Very discouraging to arrive at resort and have no reservations. Dreams blames Expedia, Expedia blames Dreams. Resort staff could only say we have nothing for you, you need to call Expedia. Finally got worked out but resort did not seem very helpful. First room was a little dated and not fully clean so we upgraded at extra cost to better room. Only 2 restaurants opened all week, not the variety or selection we have experienced from other Dreams. Hardly any poolside activities or nighttime activities.

Neighbors where really loud could hear every little thing they did. Over all was a nice stay

My room had a wonderful view of the ocean and was very clean. Despite being next to the ocean the room was not musty. The staff was friendly and helpful with anything needed. i will certainly be back.

There is a reconstruction going on. You hear all noise during the day. It doesn’t feel like a vacation. The beach has seaweed issues. The restaurants are closed frequently. The regular staff which provides the service is very nice and they will do everything for you, but we met some nasty and very rude staff members as well who called themselves “supervisors”. Generally will not recommend this resort (Dreams at Cozumel). There are so many other nice places to be.

We had an incredibly long wait for our room, but once it was ready, the team did everything they could to make up for it! The room was incredible, the AC worked great, the mini bar was restocked very regularly. Karina at the desk was great, and ALL of the staff at all restaurants and bars were amazing! It is a nice, quiet resort, with all the amenities you can want. The food was excellent, we enjoyed all of the a la carte restaurants, more than once. We could have gone to the sister resorts for meals too, but didn't feel like we needed to! The snorkeling of the beach was excellent, we went in every day. Overall incredibly happy with our stay, and we will gladly return for another trip!

We love staying at Dreams Cozumel because the staff are all wonderful! They make you feel like home away from home in paradise. We especially enjoyed Miguel at the pools, Jonathan at the bars, Julio in the World Cafe and Gloria who made delicious omelets each day! We also ventured over to Secrets and Sunscape since it’s included for meals and activities. Mily at the Sunscaoe front desk was so helpful!

Their customer service is amazing hands-down !! Miguel was one of our favorites with Juan by the pool side !! Coochie Coochie drinks for days hahah Raul made things right for us after knowing for 2 days we didn’t get our complementary bottles in our room. You the man & need to put him at front desk :) Angel was the best for breakfast time. Make sure you go see them at your stay and tip them all well!!! Well deserved for sure & because of them we will be back for service wise . The only thing I can say was disappointed about the resort is that the French restaurant was always closed three days in a row on the days that we call primetime “weekends” food around the restaurants could use more seasonings and real steak .Could use more shows / entertainment at night time as well .The weather was beautiful and scenery around the resort. Felt safe at all times and that’s excellent as they love to say 😉Thank you for our stay & till next time !!

Also, although the restaurants offer a good variety, the overall food quality could use some attention and seems to have deteriorated compared to previous stays. Overall, the employees truly made a difference in our experience. With a few improvements in room preparation, management, and food quality, this hotel has the potential to be outstanding.

We had a great time at the dreams resort! The staff was amazing!

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Resort was beautiful. Snorkeling right off the beach. Beach and pool staff were very attentive and were always available for drink orders. Plenty of dinning options and room service. Very much enjoyed this resort. Will be going back in January.

1.Made us wait out side our room for over a hour in the heat and humidity until they had to change the electric lock. 2.View was supposed to be ocean view and it was a sliver of a view. We had a wall and a roof view. 3.Food at the buffet was terrible and unhygienic. Flies everywhere especially at the two grills during breakfast! (My wife became ill after eating at the buffet and ended up being take my ambulance to the hospital ER. The this experience cost us $1500. 4.We paid $380 for a true ocean view and the room had a mole smell and feel to it. 5. The A/C made a terrible noise and the floor was damp and dangerously slippery 6.Phone did not work on day 3 to order room service. I had to walk to the lobby and order the food. I was told the technician was gone and they would fix it the next day. 7.We left the property on day 4 and I told them the reasons why and all I was told was sorry. We could not stay at Dreams anymore for fear of the food and the lack of care for are basic needs as guest not being met. I would like to officially ask for a refund of the last four days we did not stay in the hotel. I think this is only fair. We should really receive a full refund however I will be satisfied with the four days we did not use the hotel. I have the hospital bill if you would like to see it. The staff was annoyed and unfriendly everywhere we went and we had access to all 3 resorts. Trying to dine somewhere was near impossible due to no reservations and them rotating what is open. If we were able to get in somewhere to eat, we never got what we actually ordered. They told us we weren’t allowed to order room service and took our room service sign out of our room. We never got fresh towels and the bathroom had visible mold. I would not stay at this resort again.

Great service and friendly people. Specialty restaurants were very good. Only negative is the membership push (new version of time share). We were approached at airport first with “Representative of Dreams”. Told that they would arrange a ride for us but then after 5-10 min. told us only if we agreed to go to a membership presentation at Dreams. Told him that we weren’t interested and then informed us to go over to a shuttle to arrange for transportation. Then at checkin and after signing everything for the room, the checkin clerk referred us to the “concierge” who also started to offer us discounts and leisure money vouchers but finally after 5 minutes again spoke that the condition was to go see a “membership” seminar. We were exhausted and this felt like something we had to listen to instead of a bellman taking us and our luggage to our rooms. This really tarnishes your brand. The rest of the trip, the service was great. Checkin and the airport hard sell of these “memberships” really feels like we got trapped in a “time share vacation” - think South Park and time shares in Aspen.

Room was great. Really enjoyed having access to all 3 properties. Closeness to dive sites, made it possible to sleep later, have breakfast before getting on board, then back to resort early.

The property is good, if you're looking for a awesome pool I would say this isn't the hotel for you, but if you're looking for a great beach with a view this is the hotel for you. We were able to get a beach chair and umbrella at 1030am with others still available. Dreams had great food as well as secrets. This is a kid friendly hotel but it was still quite and enjoyable!

Too far out of town

We stayed at Dreams , which also allowed us to use the Secrets and Sunscape resorts. Sergio at the Secrets restaurant was wonderful. He was so attentive and took the best care of us . Our room had a great view , and it was cleaned spotless each day . The resort grounds are beautiful. This is one of the farthest resorts from the airport or ferry terminal , which are approximately 30 minutes away . Taxis are always available.

This is my fourth stay at this facility. The beach is beautiful, and access to the pier is great for excursions. The staff is amazing, and they work really hard to make sure you enjoy your stay. There is a variety of food at the different restaurants. I highly recommend this facility. I try to go twice a year, and hope to be back in May.

Loved that there was a walking trail along the beach

Seems to be a great dive shop attached to the Dreams HOTEL We spoke with Louisa for future dive vacation , she was impressive to talk to and we look forward to our next Dive vacatwith her.

We love this resort. We have stayed at Secrets and Dreams at this location. We love how quaint and close restaurants, pools, and activities are soooo close to the beach!! A beautiful view no matter where you are in these properties!

I have been staying at this resort for four years. The staff is wonderful! I always get an ocean front room, and the views are amazing. I go twice a year for diving.

The island is small, safe, and beautiful with the best beaches we’ve ever seen.

The resort in Dreams Cozumel was the worst resort I have been to in Mexico. The pools off the rooms were awesome and the beach was amazing. It was nice to be able to use snorkel gear and kayaks without extra charge on the beach. Some of the staff especially Juan Carlos were amazing. Some of the staff were bad and didnt seem like they wanted to be there. Staff was notified about issues in the room and never corrected them. There were 2 shows that were good the rest of the time there wasnt a show. The entertainment wasnt very good. Tried to sell time share immediately upon arrival which was overwhelming after traveling all day. Also, should do that after being able to experience the resort. The food was bad. The ala carte restaurants were way below standards. Oceana at Secrets was the best one we encountered. The buffet was hit or miss but not very many options. Room service was very slow majority of the time. Took 2 hours once and then the food was horrible. The food was the worst part. The spa allowed reservations and then when we got there they said they didnt have space. Reserved hydrotherapy for 4 and got there and said only had 2 spaces and had to go back later. The hydrotherapy was awesome and worth going back for. The drinks were good and most bar staff were decent. Pool and bars close down pretty early for a resort. Had to go to Secrets most of the time. Hope they can turn it around. Has a lot of potential to be amazing!

Me gustaron mucho las instalaciones y la playa, en mi opinión lo único que falta es mejorar la gastronomía, los restaurantes que abrían de noche eran lo mejor que tenía por ofrecer, el roomservice me pareció escaso y el menú de pizzería de día, la comida que pedimos tenía muy mal sabor, los postres de buffet y roomservic eran de lo más insípidos y las bebidas todas sabían demasiado a alcohol y como todo el alcocho que ofrecen es de mala calidad sabían desagradables

Como alguien que ha estado en otro Hoteles Dreams o Secrets, me decepcionó la comida de los restaurantes. Independientemente de la belleza natural o la atencion del personal, si la comida no esta al nivel de lo demas, en lo personal no volveria.

Great Sea-view room and comforts. Unfortunately very poor buffet choices all around breakfast/lunch/dinner time. A la carte restaurants mediocare and not open always. Secrets offered slightly better options.

The hotel itself is beautiful but the dining options could be a lot better. The pizzeria and the Mayan restaurant were the best food at the hotel. The buffet is very small with not a lot of options. Some of the restaurants the portions are so small you leave still being hungry. Some nights the buffet is closed and you’re only left with a couple options from the restaurants to choose from. They do have room service with some ok food. Definitely don’t get the pizza from room service. It doesn’t compare to the pizza in the pizzeria so that was definitely disappointing. I’m not bashing the hotel because we did have a great time while we were there. Just weren’t pleased with the food options.
