Spacious, quiet room with a beautiful view. The hotel restaurant has one of the best settings in San Juan, and we really enjoyed the food. Service was very courteous. Convenient path to San Juan town, plus the hotel has its own pier for boat access. Free kayaks for guests were a great bonus.

Beautiful place! One of the best places you can stay. Gardens are beautiful. All hotel has great views. Room were great, confy, clean, culturally decorated, all the place was just beautiful! The hotel even calls the boat for you to be picked up right from the hotel to go to the other beautiful towns in the atitlan lake. And if you need to go to the town, you can just walk to the most turistic points that are in walking distance but if you dont feel like walking they call you a tuk tuk for you to ride! The hotel also has kayaks and life jackets you can use for free. Breakfast is great and FREE. Parking is a bit confusing as you park in an area near by the lake and you walk towards the lake then find a sign that guides you through the fields that crosses other lands and you take stairs that lead to the hotel. Youget the beautiful views from your room as all rooms faced the lake. They have great service and all the staff was super friendly. Overall i was super satisfiedwith everything. Thank you so much. I'll always recommend this hotel to everyone who visits San Juan de los lagos Atitlan

It's good. Keep in mind You have to take lots of stairs from main road down to the hotel and back up, and parking might be an issue. Property and staff are great,

Very cute hotel. It’s 5 stars for everything except it has a lot of stairs to get up to the registration desk and rooms. Carrying luggage up the stairs was a good workout. Still that would not be a dealbreaker. Property is beautiful with all the flowers and hummingbirds all around.

This accommodation was very nice, but we did have problems with WIFI and electrical outages. There was also construction going on and the hottub was not in service. But overall, a nice place or the money.

We could not use the jacuzzi as it is closed for renovation. Would have been nice to know this upfront. Accommodation has a good view and is generellay nice!

Buena vista, lanchas colectivas te recogen en el muelle del hotel por Q25. La ubicación que muestra la app no es la correcta, no es posible comunicarse por WhatsApp, el parqueo se encuentra lejos del hotel, la carne de res muy dura, comuniqué el inconveniente y la respuesta fue que si quería cambiar el plato debía pagar ambos platos, la habitación R4 se encuentra contiguo a la recepción y debajo del restaurante por lo que se filtra todo el ruido y no es posible descansar y el jacuzzi tiene costo adicional para uso, lo cual no se indica en la app y se encuentra muy sucio.

Enjoyed 3 nights stay at Uxlabil. It's not a typical hotel and could classify as a mini-resort with quiet a few things to do. You can take a nature walk, get a massage, take sauna and explore the lake on a kayak. On-site restaurant serves free breakfast and delicious options for lunch and dinner. Staff is very helpful always with a smile. Rooms are basic but spacious. Each floor has a lookout terrace where you can sit on a chair or sofa or lounge in a hammock to take in panoramic views of hills and lake throughout the day. One thing annoying though no fault of the hotel is the loud horn sounds buses make while passing by the road close to the hotel. It can wake you up in middle of night.

I booked the hotel thru Expedia. I arrived at the address, but all I could see was a doorway that led to a mountainside. Finally had my friends leave me, and I made my way down hundreds of feet of the vertical mountain side, on uneven rocky steps w side rails that had fallen & were in disrepair. Finally found a building with laundry going, but as I was calling loudly for at least 5 min on the way down w no answer, I knew it wasn’t near reception. I finally saw someone on an upper floor in another building. Even tho I was calling, I finally got near enuf to get their direct attention & they said reception was further down. There’s no mention in the description of the hotel that is not appropriate for anyone who needs special assistance or access, Which made it very difficult, as we had one woman who needs some help walking. Once I got to reception, they told me that the hotel parking lot has a different address than the hotel, and that it is on the bottom of the Mountainside; that you have to park and walk UP to reception at least 3 flights of steps, plus probably at least 1/8 of a mile on various paths to get to the steps. I was told by reception that they email folks info on Parking when they book, but they don’t do it when booked thru Expedia. Great views, although some of the things in the rooms were in disrepair. They offered to carry my friend in a chair up the steps once she made it all the way from the lot, but when we returned, they said it was too late (10pm)

Disappointing. A lot incorrect or misleading items on listing. Many of the activities listed were not evident. Minimal communication about facilities. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in in Guatemala and it provided the least amenities. We were given a room in an annex [that is not mentioned in the listing] which was so far from the main building that the Wi-Fi did not reach it. When we asked to change we were told that nothing was available yet the next morning early, before the maids arrived, we walked past two empty rooms. The stairs to the room were dangerous especially at night because of building debris that had not been cleared. Not sure what the Eco in the hotel name denotes but it is neither ecological or economical. The restaurant hours were not greatly convenient and the breakfast service so erratic that we opted to eat elsewhere in the evening when we would have otherwise patronised the hotel The whole place is badly maintained run down and cheaply run.

The people who work at the hotel are hardworking and friendly. The rooms are laid out in an uncomfortable manner. The bathroom door was next to the head of the bed and there were not enough chairs to sit on. The views of Lake Atitlan are spectacular! However, most of the outside furniture was broken so you could not sit down to enjoy it The restaurant has decent food and options. Finally, the shower was incredibly tiny, with the most basic faucets, the types that would typically be used for outdoor plumbing and gardening.

The hotel backs onto a main road. At night time trucks drive fast and beep their horn to warn oncoming traffic. Sometimes there is hot running water. Sometimes there isn't. The service in the restaurant is a little slow. The food is delivered at deferrent times...not good when serving a couple. The hotel could do more to advise on activities in the area. The wiring in the shower room needs looking at. I don't think it's very safe

I truly loved my stay here. It exceeded my expectations. The amenities were amazing, from the complimentary breakfast to direct lake access with included kayaks. Being able to bring my pet along made it even better! The staff were wonderful, friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything I needed. The rooms were beautiful, very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy the stay. The property itself is stunning. Perfect for spending time outdoors, connecting with nature, and taking in the peaceful views. The free breakfast was traditional, fresh, and absolutely delicious. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would definitely stay here again!

Accessible from the top (not recommended) or from the bottom, in both cases stairs everywhere. Beautiful view from the balcony with hammock and the breakfast is very satisfactory. On the other hand, very noisy hotel (main road very close and lack of insulation). Acceptable room but the bathroom is deplorable (random hot water and infamous smell)

Beautiful location - however, the room was not great. The shower only had cold water, regardless of how long it was left to run for, and the hotel definitely had more of a hostel vibe. Lots of dead bugs/dust in the bathroom. The balcony is shared and is right outside the window, meaning you need the curtains pulled at all times; otherwise, other people can just peer in. Wasn't a big fan of the food. Overall, OK experience, but could've been improved with warm water and more privacy.

Very charming hotel overlooking the lake. Lovely landscaping made for beautiful outdoor spaces to lie in a hammock, sit by the water, etc. Our room was clean and nice, but the bathroom and sheets could have been better. Breakfast was good - you get some options of traditional Guatemalan, more American style, pancakes, yogurt/granola etc. It is built into the hillside over the lake so there is some walking up and down to get around, but the staff kindly helped us with our luggage. No TVs in our room so would recommend bringing books / a deck of cards. We enjoyed using the free kayaks but were a little disappointed the hot tub was an additional charge. The area is in between San Juan and San Pedro - it's an easy walk into San Juan by a path down by the water, and easy to walk into San Pedro too but it's along a main road without sidewalks. Tuktuks are cheap and easy ways to get around, as are water taxis.

Beautiful place! One of the best places you can stay. Gardens are beautiful. All hotel has great views. Room were great, confy, clean, culturally decorated, all the place was just beautiful! The hotel even calls the boat for you to be picked up right from the hotel to go to the other beautiful towns in the atitlan lake. And if you need to go to the town, you can just walk to the most turistic points that are in walking distance but if you dont feel like walking they call you a tuk tuk for you to ride! The hotel also has kayaks and life jackets you can use for free. Breakfast is great and FREE. Parking is a bit confusing as you park in an area near by the lake and you walk towards the lake then find a sign that guides you through the fields that crosses other lands and you take stairs that lead to the hotel. Youget the beautiful views from your room as all rooms faced the lake. They have great service and all the staff was super friendly. Overall i was super satisfiedwith everything. Thank you so much. I'll always recommend this hotel to everyone who visits San Juan de los lagos Atitlan

Accessible from the top (not recommended) or from the bottom, in both cases stairs everywhere. Beautiful view from the balcony with hammock and the breakfast is very satisfactory. On the other hand, very noisy hotel (main road very close and lack of insulation). Acceptable room but the bathroom is deplorable (random hot water and infamous smell)

Beautiful location - however, the room was not great. The shower only had cold water, regardless of how long it was left to run for, and the hotel definitely had more of a hostel vibe. Lots of dead bugs/dust in the bathroom. The balcony is shared and is right outside the window, meaning you need the curtains pulled at all times; otherwise, other people can just peer in. Wasn't a big fan of the food. Overall, OK experience, but could've been improved with warm water and more privacy.

Very charming hotel overlooking the lake. Lovely landscaping made for beautiful outdoor spaces to lie in a hammock, sit by the water, etc. Our room was clean and nice, but the bathroom and sheets could have been better. Breakfast was good - you get some options of traditional Guatemalan, more American style, pancakes, yogurt/granola etc. It is built into the hillside over the lake so there is some walking up and down to get around, but the staff kindly helped us with our luggage. No TVs in our room so would recommend bringing books / a deck of cards. We enjoyed using the free kayaks but were a little disappointed the hot tub was an additional charge. The area is in between San Juan and San Pedro - it's an easy walk into San Juan by a path down by the water, and easy to walk into San Pedro too but it's along a main road without sidewalks. This eco hotel has many charms, not least because it is in walking distant of the charming streets on San Juan. The highlight was our lovely and spacious room which overlooked the Lake - such a beautiful view! However, the property had so many steps that were steep, slippy at times, broken handrails and just unkempt. As an older person, I really had difficulty climbing / descending the steps 2-3 times a day and would not recommend for anyone that may have a disability, young children or like me, with not so young knees!

Enjoyed 3 nights stay at Uxlabil. It's not a typical hotel and could classify as a mini-resort with quiet a few things to do. You can take a nature walk, get a massage, take sauna and explore the lake on a kayak. On-site restaurant serves free breakfast and delicious options for lunch and dinner. Staff is very helpful always with a smile. Rooms are basic but spacious. Each floor has a lookout terrace where you can sit on a chair or sofa or lounge in a hammock to take in panoramic views of hills and lake throughout the day. One thing annoying though no fault of the hotel is the loud horn sounds buses make while passing by the road close to the hotel. It can wake you up in middle of night.

Disappointing. A lot incorrect or misleading items on listing. Many of the activities listed were not evident. Minimal communication about facilities. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in in Guatemala and it provided the least amenities. We were given a room in an annex [that is not mentioned in the listing] which was so far from the main building that the Wi-Fi did not reach it. When we asked to change we were told that nothing was available yet the next morning early, before the maids arrived, we walked past two empty rooms. The stairs to the room were dangerous especially at night because of building debris that had not been cleared. Not sure what the Eco in the hotel name denotes but it is neither ecological or economical. The restaurant hours were not greatly convenient and the breakfast service so erratic that we opted to eat elsewhere in the evening when we would have otherwise patronised the hotel The whole place is badly maintained run down and cheaply run.

I truly loved my stay here. It exceeded my expectations. The amenities were amazing, from the complimentary breakfast to direct lake access with included kayaks. Being able to bring my pet along made it even better! The staff were wonderful, friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything I needed. The rooms were beautiful, very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy the stay. The property itself is stunning. Perfect for spending time outdoors, connecting with nature, and taking in the peaceful views. The free breakfast was traditional, fresh, and absolutely delicious. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would definitely stay here again!

I booked the hotel thru Expedia. I arrived at the address, but all I could see was a doorway that led to a mountainside. Finally had my friends leave me, and I made my way down hundreds of feet of the vertical mountain side, on uneven rocky steps w side rails that had fallen & were in disrepair. Finally found a building with laundry going, but as I was calling loudly for at least 5 min on the way down w no answer, I knew it wasn’t near reception. I finally saw someone on an upper floor in another building. Even tho I was calling, I finally got near enuf to get their direct attention & they said reception was further down. There’s no mention in the description of the hotel that is not appropriate for anyone who needs special assistance or access, Which made it very difficult, as we had one woman who needs some help walking. Once I got to reception, they told me that the hotel parking lot has a different address than the hotel, and that it is on the bottom of the Mountainside; that you have to park and walk UP to reception at least 3 flights of steps, plus probably at least 1/8 of a mile on various paths to get to the steps. I was told by reception that they email folks info on Parking when they book, but they don’t do it when booked thru Expedia. Great views, although some of the things in the rooms were in disrepair. They offered to carry my friend in a chair up the steps once she made it all the way from the lot, but when we returned, they said it was too late (10pm)

Stayed at this property for 3 nights. The staff was super nice and informative. Property has a beautiful view of rostro maya and the overall lake. Kayaks are easy and accessible to use at all times. Hotel is only a short walk along the shoreline to the main st of San Juan. Breakfast was always delicious and filling. Would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Guatemala.

Hôtel très sommaire. À flan de colline avec des marches à n'en plus finir. Par contre une jolie vue sur le lac. The restaurant hours were not greatly convenient and the breakfast service so erratic that we opted to eat elsewhere in the evening when we would have otherwise patronised the hotel The whole place is badly maintained run down and cheaply run.

Very nice location, right off of Atitlan, but hike up to location not fun with luggage. The views are spectacular. However, dining was not the best. Breakfast starts late and then it is so very hard to get served and dinners are truly awful. No AC which is ok, however, you cannot even open the windows as you'll let all the mosquitoes in and there isn't even a fan. Bathroom vents into room so everyone knows what you're up to and the light from bathroom shines right into room so forget about not disturbing your sleeping family. But the showerhead made it all worth it! First pressured shower I took my entire trip. That alone was worth it.

Eco Hotel Uxlabil Atitlan was an absolutely beautiful experience! The property was gorgeous, all the staff was incredibly kind and supportive and the food was delicious as well!

Beautiful views. Nice restaurant with limited menu. They ran out of free, filtered water half way thru and did not replace. We went during San Jose holiday and there were ridiculous amounts of very loud fireworks going off all times of the day. Worst was late at night and 6AM!! May want to avoid this. Bathroom had no ventilation, so after a shower it stayed moist a long time. Otherwise, good value, beautiful scenery.

Great staff, very helpful. Breakfast was very good. Parking is complicated as it is on the backside of the property which isn’t easy to find. Make sure you get those details in advance.

I would highly recommend staying at Hotel Uxlabil! They provided a delicous breakfast each day, filtered water was available, and there were hot showers. The staff was friendly and helpful! The property is beautiful and you get great views of the lake. It is close to town if you want to walk or they can call a tuk-tuk to come get you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

This hotel was exactly what I needed. It was close to town but far enough away where it felt secluded and peaceful. The view of the lake and the breakfast were spectacular. It is a bit tricky to get to if you’re not familiar with the area, you can show the driver of the Lancha the name of the hotel and they will drop you off right at the dock. Otherwise you’ll have to walk 10 minutes from the town dock. The shower doesn’t get super hot, it gets warm. Overall I’d recommend this place and would stay there again, all the people there were super friendly and helpful as well.
