The location was lovely. It’s on a pedestrian walkway so parking is not on premise. The rooms are definitely snug. Parking was about an 8 minute walk. The property is close to shopping, pubs, and restaurants. There is no lift so you’re caring your bags up the stairs with the help of the staff.

The rooms befit the hotel name; they are very small but efficiently laid out and well suited to travellers. The nearby parking garage at Spanish Arch is also quite tight, but conveniently located. Pack light, there is no elevator. I would stay here again.

This place is in a renovated 12th century (?) inn, so go in expecting smaller rooms, but they do it with such style and class it’s hard to not be absolutely impressed with this place! The staff is beyond helpful, super sweet, and you really can’t beat the location - within walking distance of everything. There is no parking on site bc it’s in the pedestrian area, but the Spanish arch parking garage is literally around the corner and the day rates are great. The bed is also massive, so plenty of room to relax when you get back from your days of exploration. Recommend static noise when you sleep if you are a light sleeper - they also provide ear plugs if that is more your thing. They also sell Irish plug converters that will fit all plugs except USB/Type C for €6 in the vending machines.

Pros: Easy location to walk everywhere! Stylish and modern. Good deal with parking garage close by. Amazing water pressure for shower. Despite being on a busy street the room was rather quiet. We were top floor. Cons: Beds were not the comfiest! Springy. Lots of stairs (no elevator).

Great location on Quay Street with the Spanish Arch parking garage next door (discounted rate of 12€/day.) No lift so if handicapped be sure to request something on 1st floor. There are oodles of pubs, fish & chip joints, and boutiques right out the front door. Nice showers with plenty of warm water and pressure. Great value.

The Snug hotel was true to its name, our room was very compact, but clean and a comfortable bed for our one night stay in Galway. The location can’t be beat and the hotel staff was very helpful in providing recommendations for the local area. We didn’t have any issues with noise as other have mentioned. It does take a bit of rearranging to have two suitcases open at once as floor space is minimal but there is a space under the bed to keep one larger suitcase open at all times. Also, there is no elevator for those that would need one. It was 4 flights of stairs to our room, which was very manageable. Overall, for a short stay, this was a great place and we would definitely stay again.

An ideal location for a social weekend in Galway. Everything is within walking distance & you are amongst the hustle & bustle, looking out over The Quays Bar, yet the room itself was not noisy (very good windows). The room was lovely and clean & the staff were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Location was amazing and the hotel, overall, was ok. Staff was nice too. However, we found underwear from the previous guests in the room, besides the bed. We told this to the staff and all we got was a "does that bother you?", which was disappointing. That's why we are rating "cleaning" with 2 stars. I cannot give a good rating to a place were I find underwear and nothing is done about that. App isn't allowing me to upload the picture of the underwear, so I can't do it.

The whole idea of the snug is a cute idea. Here is the issue upon arriving. The staff was very nice very friendly when it came time to take a shower, there were spiders in the shower, which kind of freaked me out. Also they didn’t empty the trash in the upstairs bathroom, which had a bloody tampon in it! Grose!!!! there is a huge exit light that is lit in that room so the room never got dark. It was very difficult to sleep and it was extremely loud fun cool place if you’re out there to get messed up drunk but if you’re trying to get a decent nights sleep, not so much, I don’t think I would stay here again

Room small but clean and tasteful, good shower with nice products. Comfortable bed, room nice and warm. Vending machine in the hallway. Very central. Some noise from outside, but not excessive. Was woken by people playing music in the next room in the small hours of the morning (not fault of hotel), called Reception and the matter was dealt with immediately. I would stay there again. Superb location.

Very comfortable. Spotlessly clean. A bit of a musty smell in the room. The bed was very comfortable (I appreciated all the pillows!), but would be difficult to get in and out of for anyone with mobility issues. You climb in at the very foot of the bed. There was some noise from the pub below when they had music playing, but not enough to keep me from sleeping (even without the earplugs The Snug provides).

There are three reasons to stay at the Snug Townhouse--location, location, location. And if you get a room in the back it is incredibly quiet. But not in the front, as other reviewers will attest to. If you are traveling by yourself, it might be okay. But for two, it is nearly unworkable. The queen size bed is shoved into a corner with no way out except for the inside person climbing over the outside person. Suitcases must be kept under the bed. There are several small shelves on which to put things, but one shelf has plugs and is taken up by the hot water pot. We never could find a plug in the bathroom (which is huge relative to the room). There is one small hook in the bathroom, not big enough for your wet towels. The plugs in the headboard stick out enough that one could hit one's head on them. There are no tissues provided or even spoons if you want to make a cup of tea. No glasses, just two mugs. The only reason to stay here is the neighborhood is fantastic--restaurants, bars, nightlife everywhere and you can walk to everywhere in Galway. At $150 per night, I wouldn't even be writing this review. But at $250? Ridiculously expensive for the amenities provided.

Great location and friendly staff. Our room I did not enjoy. It was on the ground floor and had windows that were frosted and wouldn’t open more than an inch. We could not see out or get fresh air so it felt like a dungeon. Also, right outside our window was some sort of machinery that whirred all night long making it difficult to sleep.

If you are 2 adults- DO NOT STAY HERE. We switched a superior room facing the noisy street (party till 2am) for a back “snug room”. It was literally the size of a Queen bed- with a 2ft by 2ft entrance to the tiny bathroom. We had to put our suitcases under the bed. The bed was enclosed by 4 walls with an opening to exit to the bathroom, necessitating me stepping over my husband . And no windows. At over $250 a night, it was beyond a rip off. The water pressure in the tiny shower was the only positive.

Crazy convenient, and well run with helpful folks at the desk at all hours. The room was tiny, but they made good use of the space. Warning: if you're sleeping with a partner, there was only one way in and out of our bed, so if somebody needs to get up in the middle of the night, it wouldn't be ideal. I don’t know whether other rooms are like that.

Our stay was absolutely excellent. The customer service really went above and beyond. Upon check in the front desk employee provided amazing options for dinner, entertainment, and sight seeing. They even assisted with making dinner reservations and confirmed with us over the phone once everything was set. Truly a wonderful experience and I hope to return soon.

The woman at the front desk was amazing. Our room was on the front of the hotel. When we checked in, we asked if it would be quiet because the street was crazy. The man at the front desk said the windows were triple pained. We were directly across from the Quay and didn't sleep all night. The woman moved us to a great room, gave us advice about where to eat and what to do.

Great place in the heart of Galway. Be mindful that this place is on top of a pub. So the music can be heard in the rooms till 2AM. But they do provide earplugs, which is nice. Great location does come at a cost.

The Snug offers a “pod” for sleeping - contemporary decor, clean and central to pedestrian centre. Slightly awkward sharing space, logistics had to be considered!! Staff very helpful, no breakfast so comparatively expendive.
