Very nice hotel. Location convenient to old town and most major sites. Should’ve been 5 star but Spa was a big disappointment. We booked the hotel for the spa and were looking forward to using it but Sauna took a very long time to heat up to a hot temperature and Jacuzzi water was cold. We were told it was broken and would be fixed the next day but we talked to other patrons who had been told that multiple days. After we were told it’s fixed, water was even colder and the host said that is its normal temperature. Very hard to relax and unwind from the day in cold Jacuzzi water.

This is a classically elegant hotel located in a wonderful part of downtown Bucharest. The rooms are nice, the furniture is beautiful and the beds are comfortable. We appreciated the selection of pillows. The restaurant in the hotel was especially good, with delicious Romanian and international food. I highly recommend the ciorba de perisoare soup and the foire gras at the hotel restaurant, they're both amazing. The spa in the hotel is very very good, with kind and nice people working there. They let us reschedule our massage without a problem. The jacuzzi is beautiful, but it would be even better if it was hotter. Overall, we loved this hotel and would return next time we're in Bucharest.

This was my 3rd stay at Grand Hotel Continental. This is hands down my favorite property in Bucharest's town center. It is classy, elegant, the rooms are the most spacious I have had in any hotel anywhere, boasting beautiful period furniture. I also love the touch of a bottle of wine, fruit basket and box with fresh cookies awaiting in the room upon check in. The hotel has a delicious breakfast buffet (speaking from last year's experience, we didn't do breakfast this time). The gym has been updated (since last year) and it's now in full use. The new feature for this year is a Thai spa which unfortunately I didn't get to try because I only did a 2 night stay this time around and had a full schedule. It looks amazing, though. I was told the furniture is authentic Thai and was shipped over from Thailand. I understand there is a sauna that is free to use for all guests. The front desk has always been nice and friendly and so is the bellman staff. Around the right corner as you look at the front of the building is the famous historic Capșa pastry shop, which is a must try, so delish. There is a convenience store nearby as well as an ATM, just be aware of people coming over to ask you for $ when you take out cash (begging happens quite a bit, never had an issue with anyone begging, just something to be aware of). It's a 10 minute walk to the old town with traditional historic restaurants such as Caru cu Bere. Also close to Museum of Art, Romanian Athenee.

Our luggage has been missing in the airport and we were frustrated. Mike, at the hotel concierge, was so helpful that he tried his best to contact the airline, tracking down the luggage for us. He was a precious asset for the hotel. We enjoyed the stay in the hotel which was tidy and clean. The rooms were spacious. The food provided in the breakfast was fresh and tasty. Yummy. The waiters were very attentive. The hotel was highly recommended.

View from the room, service, and friendly staff members were great except a leaky sink in the bathroom. We notified them three times but couldn’t be fixed. A bit disappointing at this level of the hotel. Other than that, we were very happy that we stayed here. The first two nights, we enjoyed their gift of fruits and wine.

Miljön är rätt bedagad och sliten. Personalen skyllde på att inga chefer eller tekniker fanns tillgängliga så man struntade i att lösa våra problem. Saknades handdukar i rummen, kaffe mm fylldes inte på, städningen vad sådär, frukosten var fattig, saknades handlingskraft genomgående. Trött och medelmåttig upplevelse helt enkelt, typ värt 3 stjärnor.

We rented two twin beds rooms for 5 nights. Our rooms were beautiful and extremely spacious with an extra large closet and entryway and very tall ceilings. Although the building dates from 1886, it has been recently renovated and it looks like a period movie scene, its period palace appearance being wonderfully preserved. The very large loby furnished with period pieces and beautifully coordinated colors is a treat and as soon as you enter the space you feel surrounded by beauty. Every space from the bathrooms in the rooms to the large hallways is clean and perfect looking. The room was spacious with a large foyer and a large bathroom with tub and shower. It was very clean and in excellent shape for a "grand old hotel." The location was perfect for walking to the performing arts venues during the George Enescu Music Festival (which was magnificent).

It would help if they were better informed and didn't give conflicting information. Breakfast buffet was wonderful, the selections were plentiful and high quality. My room was really, really small and given that I was staying for 5 nights it was difficult to maneuver around. It seems like at one time it was part of a suite that was separated off. There was a courtyard area that was quite lovely for relaxing outdoors and reading.

So my rating for this hoteloverall is 4 stars but those people in the Front desk I’ll give 5 star. Having travelled to more than 100 countries , we can justify which one is 5 star and not. Front desk girls are the best , my utmost thank you to Lorena and Raduca. We were given a room on the 3rd floor, we got a nice fruit platter and wine in the room. In the evening we complaint that our room air conditioner is not working properly, with the heat of 32 c outside luckily I have a portable hand held fan that we can use. we can’t sleep.we complaint that our room was not giving a cold air, so we were move to the another room, but aircon still not powerful as it is, I think this is a problem if you are visiting Romania during summer months. Pros 1.Clean and tidy hotel 2. We ate in the Restaurant for snack or dinner and it’s tasty and good portion. 3. Great location near the revolution square and at least 15 minutes walk to old town. Cons 1. No Porter around, so bring your own luggage to the lift or room 2. Shower area is so narrow and no barrier that water will spill on the floor. 3. No turn down service or at least your bed needs to be tidy up. 4. Aircon not working in full blast even thou it’s says 5c in the system. 5. Breakfast has the same choices each day , on our 5th day I have no appetite. I that ordered fried eggs for a change. 6. Some curtains to other the rooms are not black out. 7.Bed pillows were a bit flat and not great for watchingTV.

stayed at Grand Hotel Continental in Bucharest. The hotel itself is stunning, with beautifully designed rooms that have an elegant and luxurious feel. However, the air conditioning was terrible—it didn’t cool the room at all, making it quite uncomfortable. Unfortunately, some of the staff were not very friendly and even laughed at the situation when we mentioned the issue with the air conditioning, which was disappointing. However, Raluca was amazing and went above and beyond to help us with everything. Her professionalism and kindness truly made a difference in our stay. Overall, the hotel is gorgeous, and thanks to Raluca, we still had a good experience. However, the poor A/C and the unprofessional attitude from certain staff members need improvement. If these issues are addressed, this could be an incredible place to stay.

We rented two twin beds rooms for 5 nights. Our rooms were beautiful and extremely spacious with an extra large closet and entryway and very tall ceilings. Although the building dates from 1886, it has been recently renovated and it looks like a period movie scene, its period palace appearance being wonderfully preserved. The very large loby furnished with period pieces and beautifully coordinated colors is a treat and as soon as you enter the space you feel surrounded by beauty. Every space from the bathrooms in the rooms to the large hallways is clean and perfect looking. The room was spacious with a large foyer and a large bathroom with tub and shower. It was very clean and in excellent shape for a "grand old hotel." The location was perfect for walking to the performing arts venues during the George Enescu Music Festival (which was magnificent).

Very nice located in the heart of old city. Walking distance to everything. Nice spaciousrooms, be aware that the bathroom is covered in glass walls! Nice welcome with fruit and wine in the room. As it is a 5 Stars hotel we were a little surprise by a few things, such as a running Toilet and cheep toiletpapir. No daily fresh water in the room and only one small bag for one Cup of coffee daily. also there was no hot water in the spa shower and smelly from the sewer drain. The breakfast was very nice, again I would expect more from a 5 Star such a freshly squeezed juice and freshly brewed coffee, also larger selection from a la carte, and fresh season fruit. The restaurant has a cafeteria vipe with the kitchen notices only seperate ny a glass dore. Very friendly and helpful staff, everyone was smils and made us feel welcome.

This was my 3rd stay at Grand Hotel Continental. This is hands down my favorite property in Bucharest's town center. It is classy, elegant, the rooms are the most spacious I have had in any hotel anywhere, boasting beautiful period furniture. I also love the touch of a bottle of wine, fruit basket and box with fresh cookies awaiting in the room upon check in. The hotel has a delicious breakfast buffet (speaking from last year's experience, we didn't do breakfast this time). The gym has been updated (since last year) and it's now in full use. The new feature for this year is a Thai spa which unfortunately I didn't get to try because I only did a 2 night stay this time around and had a full schedule. It looks amazing, though. I was told the furniture is authentic Thai and was shipped over from Thailand. I understand there is a sauna that is free to use for all guests. The front desk has always been nice and friendly and so is the bellman staff. Around the right corner as you look at the front of the building is the famous historic Capșa pastry shop, which is a must try, so delish. There is a convenience store nearby as well as an ATM, just be aware of people coming over to ask you for $ when you take out cash (begging happens quite a bit, never had an issue with anyone begging, just something to be aware of). It's a 10 minute walk to the old town with traditional historic restaurants such as Caru cu Bere. Also close to Museum of Art, Romanian Athenee.

I can not believe the quality and beauty of this hotel. The staff was great (especially Julius and Alexandria) in the breakfast area, they were AWESOME. We felt like we were friends by the time of departure. Everything was clean. No bad odor anywhere. It actually reminded me of the Ritz-Carlton in Dallas. So close to old town and the University center. When we decided to Uber the attractions were so close the Uber charge was 2-3 dollars. I can not say enough good things about this hotel. We were there during the shoulder season, there were a couple of days we could have used air conditioning but it was not turned on for summer yet. We opened the windows and were very comfortable at night.

So my rating for this hoteloverall is 4 stars but those people in the Front desk I’ll give 5 star. Having travelled to more than 100 countries , we can justify which one is 5 star and not. Front desk girls are the best , my utmost thank you to Lorena and Raduca. We were given a room on the 3rd floor, we got a nice fruit platter and wine in the room. In the evening we complaint that our room air conditioner is not working properly, with the heat of 32 c outside luckily I have a portable hand held fan that we can use. we can’t sleep.we complaint that our room was not giving a cold air, so we were move to the another room, but aircon still not powerful as it is, I think this is a problem if you are visiting Romania during summer months. Pros 1.Clean and tidy hotel 2. We ate in the Restaurant for snack or dinner and it’s tasty and good portion. 3. Great location near the revolution square and at least 15 minutes walk to old town. Cons 1. No Porter around, so bring your own luggage to the lift or room 2. Shower area is so narrow and no barrier that water will spill on the floor. 3. No turn down service or at least your bed needs to be tidy up. 4. Aircon not working in full blast even thou it’s says 5c in the system. 5. Breakfast has the same choices each day , on our 5th day I have no appetite. I that ordered fried eggs for a change. 6. Some curtains to other the rooms are not black out. 7.Bed pillows were a bit flat and not great for watchingTV.

Our luggage has been missing in the airport and we were frustrated. Mike, at the hotel concierge, was so helpful that he tried his best to contact the airline, tracking down the luggage for us. He was a precious asset for the hotel. We enjoyed the stay in the hotel which was tidy and clean. The rooms were spacious. The food provided in the breakfast was fresh and tasty. Yummy. The waiters were very attentive. The hotel was highly recommended.

These spacious rooms are to die for. The hotel has such beautiful history and as you walk around the property, you can tell that it is maintained well. Cannot speak highly enough for their buffet breakfast. The staff all super friendly in the restaurant and bar. I highly recommend this property to anyone staying in Bucharest.

This is a classically elegant hotel located in a wonderful part of downtown Bucharest. The rooms are nice, the furniture is beautiful and the beds are comfortable. We appreciated the selection of pillows. The restaurant in the hotel was especially good, with delicious Romanian and international food. I highly recommend the ciorba de perisoare soup and the foire gras at the hotel restaurant, they're both amazing. The spa in the hotel is very very good, with kind and nice people working there. They let us reschedule our massage without a problem. The jacuzzi is beautiful, but it would be even better if it was hotter. Overall, we loved this hotel and would return next time we're in Bucharest.

Very central located hotel, beautiful decorated. We arrived early and they stored out luggage for us until check in time. The room was very nice and comfortable. We had water, coffee, tea facilities in the room. We received a nice welcoming gift in the room of wine, cookies and fruit. Felt like home. Dinner at the hotel's restaurant was very good too.

I booked a suite and the room itself was very beautiful and spacious. I did find it strange though that there were no wine glasses although the mini bar included both wine and champagne; when I asked a staff member about it she said I could collect glasses in the bar downstairs if I needed them. Another day when I asked for champagne I was served prosecco. And the breakfast buffet was really nothing special. The spa was excellent though, I was very happy both with the jacuzzi and sauna as well as with the massage I booked. All in all a beautiful hotel with a very good spa but service for me did not live up to what I’d expect from a 5 star hotel.
I booked a suite and the room itself was very beautiful and spacious. I did find it strange though that there were no wine glasses although the mini bar included both wine and champagne; when I asked a staff member about it she said I could collect glasses in the bar downstairs if I needed them. Another day when I asked for champagne I was served prosecco. And the breakfast buffet was really nothing special. The spa was excellent though, I was very happy both with the jacuzzi and sauna as well as with the massage I booked. All in all a beautiful hotel with a very good spa but service for me did not live up to what I’d expect from a 5 star hotel.

Very spacious room. Stay included a fruit basket, water, cookies and wine. Included a separate shower and bath. High ceilings. Didn't have time to check out the spa. Loved it!
